We needed to get a panel upgrade completed to accommodate some future plans at our house. There is no shortage of electricians in KW, however you will quickly realize that the KIJIJI ads are mostly fly-by-night folks who you risk running off before the job is done or who don't return calls, and high pressure larger companies who charge you to come out and quote. Jones Electric gave me a great vibe right from the start, Andy came out to give a free quote and was very friendly and helpful. He provided several options and let us decide which one fit our project and budget the best. Work got started right away, and was completed with no issues at all. Great communication, friendly people, and competent service. Go with Jones Electric.

I've used Jones Electric twice now for some major work. First, we had pot lights installed in our living room and some lighting upgrades in our master bedroom as well. We added a motion light in our closet which is a great addition. We also had a very long chandelier changed in the kitchen which was no easy task and required a 17 foot ladder. Cam was great, very friendly, and got the job done with ease and super fast timing. Second we had the team come back in for more work, this time to install ethernet cabling throughout the house in multiple rooms all fed to the basement. As well, we added some more pot lights and a wireless light switch in the bathroom. We also had the smoke detectors done. Nick and Peter came this time and not only were they friendly, they got the job done. The quote was for 2 days worth of work and they finished it all in one day, even staying longer to change one piece to ensure I was happy with everything, and they did this without hesitation. From having Andy, the owner come to do the quotes, to the office staff Heidi and Jewel, this is a great company to work with. Just this weekend we bought a new dryer that is tripping the breaker, and Jones Electric was able to come out first thing Monday morning. Jones Electric is fast, affordable, and friendly service. Used them for a very small job. I had no issues with the quality of work, it was the billing part that was disappointing. Fair warning, make sure you get a firm price before the job, in writing, and be prepared that your billing will be rounded up a much higher price.

In October 2018 I hired Jones electric to replace the knob and tube wiring at my recently purchased home. Overall, I don’t recommend working with them. The cons of working with Jones Electric - The electricians doing the work will tell you that something can be done for certain time and material cost and then a larger ‘surprise’ invoice will be sent to you later from the Jones office for much more than the on-site estimate given by the electricians. - Jones will nickel and dime you for everything. For example, after the $15-$16K job was completed I noticed one of the light switches and receptacles weren’t working. A service call for this should be covered under Jones’ workmanship warranty. I called them and they said they’d send someone to fix items at no charge. Then they charged me for the visit. After spending thousands of dollars with them, they sent me a $71 invoice for a visit that should be covered under warranty. Here’s the pros of working with Jones Electric +They did start and complete the job on-time. Everyone I talked to at the company are cordial. Bottom-line: Jones electric needs to be more transparent in their pricing. I think they bid low on a project in order to win the project. If you require some new items to be added while the job is in progress the electricians on-site will say that it will only take 1-2 hours do something and “it won’t be too bad”. The Jones office sent me bill for thousands of dollars more than I thought the additional work would cost. The electricians doing the work will say the cost for additional work “won’t be too bad” because they want to keep working and are under pressure to get the job done so they can move on to the next job. It's a flawed system that needs improvement.

Jones Electric is the best electrical contractor in the region. The quoting process is professional and accurate. The quoted price is what you pay, the deposit woke is top notch, and the electrician's are courteous, and friendly. They always clean up after the job and keep you posted on their progress. We have used them for 4 different project over the past 3 years and every single job has been the same level of professionalism, service, and quality. I can't recommend them enough.

Jones Electric was very professional from start to finish. Great communication before, during, and after the lengthy renovation. Quoting and pricing was done accurately, and within the parameters agreed upon. Tom the electrician was courteous, timely, clean, and capable. They were able to run new wires for an extensive renovation, taking care of our existing house, and solving some interesting challenges easily. They also coordinated a panel upgrade with the city for us, and did this larger job within one day, getting our power back on in a hurry! Very happy with Jones, and with Tom our electrician. Courteous electrician/technicians. Decently good job (hopefully). However, the quoting process was lacking, inflexible, and somewhat non-transparent. Unforeseen happens, but in my case some of the things were identifiable during the quote which were not mentioned. I thought I was going to save a few hundred dollars by going with Jones but it ended up being the same/more than other quotes I had received.

Highly recommend based on skill and lovely, amazing people who go above and beyond. I just bought an old house with a little bit of knob and tube - turns out it was far more than a little bit. The team rewired 90% - 95% in a short period of time. They even took my old dog out when she needed it. They cleaned-up any mess and took care of my plaster walls - they were hardly invasive. Do not go anywhere else. Skills, reliability, honesty, and great people.

Had them come out a while back to get some estimates done for various light fixtures and electrical work around the house. Andy came out, was on time, and had a good look throughout the house at what I wanted done. I was sent a quote within a week (can’t remember exactly how long after the visit) but for all the work I mentioned, it was a very fair price. We opted to only do two of the five or six things at the time. We had them replace our motion sensor lights in our driveway and remove some old conduit for an old hot tub outside. I wasn’t home, but my girlfriend said the gentlemen who came out were friendly and professional. They completed the work fairly quickly. That night I went out to try the lights out but they weren’t coming on. The next morning I spoke with their receptionist Heidi and with Adam. They came out almost immediately to take a look and it turned out some sensor wasn’t wired correctly or something like that. They fixed it and it works great. A little quick to turn off (about 6 seconds after it turns on) but that’s something we might take a look at when we have them come out again to do some more work in the future since it’s really not a big deal right now. I would highly recommend jones electric to anyone who needs some work done around the house.

I've needed some overhead lighting in my living room for a long time and I've just been suffering in darkness for years. A master electrician came to provide a free estimate and suggested another solution that I had not thought of. I went with his idea and I am very glad I did! The employees showed up on time and were done in just a couple of hours. Would definitely recommend Jones Electric to anyone

Had a 100A subpanel and a car charger installed. The final workmanship looks great to me. Everybody was extremely friendly and great to deal with. The reason for only 3 stars is due to a potential safety concern. The original plan was to install a 60A copper line to the charger, but an aluminum line was installed instead (I think they were trying to save me money). While their intention was good, I question why they didn't notice the notes in the charger's installation manual that all copper wiring is required. This may have been their first charger installation, but that's all more reason to read the manual. They owned up to the mistake and took care of all required changes before they left. As a final note, I would recommend them to others installing a car charger, as I'm sure they now know how to install this one, and will likely do their due diligence for other new chargers.

What I appreciate most is that when a small issue arose due to a miscommunication, the gentleman I spoke with worked to understand from my perspective what had happened, and then provided resolution based solutions that were fair. My recently purchased house required work as an old house with aluminum wiring/panel change that needed a fix. The job turned out to be much bigger than originally estimated, however the electricians dispatched were dedicated, honest and knowledgeable and handled it well through. I'd definitely order from Jones again for my other property's needs. One downside is the quote we got was very inaccurate. We got quote from 4 different places, but Jones' quote was ~half of all other companies' quote and spent the least amount of time to take a closer look on what job would look like. It turned out to be similar amount of money as other estimators gave us, which is double of Jones' estimate. We are happy with Jones for the quality and honesty, but id like to warn the quote process is not really accurate and encourage people to have few more quotes before the job to reduce the surprise.
