All of the staff at this company is professional and very helpful. I am very happy with the fuse panel and generator they installed. The lighting is also a treat. Chadwick and Christopher knew their stuff well enough to explain it to me. I highly recommend getting to know them.

We have a family member with a compromised immune system and I was told on the phone by the lovely Laura that they were absolutely taking precautions and would be willing to work with out needs. Over charged me. Replaced two light switches (a single and a double) and charged me $320. I complained however they said that was their rates. Now I could have got $20 off if I chose to pay another $360 plus tax and become a club member. A shock doctor club member. Who though up that.

We had an emergency with our disconnect panel overheating and the wires beginning to burn, so we called The Shock Doctor, as we always do when we need work done. It's been a few years since we've needed their service, but that did not stop them from being just as kind and professional as last time. Our Installer was Chadwick, a super nice person who answered all my questions, before, during and after the replacement. The work itself was exceptional, and the area cleaned up afterwards. The company should be proud to have him as part of their team. I'm happy with the work and even happier knowing I can sleep at night without worrying about the fate of my house. Shock doctors testimonial We have had some 'less than perfect' electricians to our house in the past and then last year we brought in Chad from The Shock Doctors in Orillia. From the first contact, he was very accommodating with an appointment time, to punctual arrival, and a courteous walk-through the house, inspecting our electrical system. Chad even used booty covers to keep our floors clean. Then he described the problem in detail, gave us a well detailed estimate and stuck to it upon completion of the job. We were upgraded from 60 amp to 100 amp system! And they gave us a discount coupon for future work. Later he and another colleague came to bail us out on a Sunday afternoon power outage. They spent an hour diagnosing our problem. Since we joined The Shock Doctors reward program, we didn't even have to pay for the service call. Great people to work with! Owner Cheri Carman sends out monthly informative newsletters, and they very dependable. We would recommend them to anyone in need of electrical repair or upgrading of their service.

Horrible experience. We called to inquire about a generator installation before the holidays and they said that they will do it. They sent someone today to do a dispatch and now he said it won't be ready before the new year... So here we go spent $100 for nothing... Plus the quote we got was way more than the quote he originally gave us... Save your time and money and pass on this scam. Edit: owner called, apologized for the bad experience and gave us for the dispatch fee. I am changing my review from 1 star to 2 star for that. Thanks! However, I am still out of generator because I believed them when they say they can do it ....and they didn't

Thanks to Scott after installing a new outlet in my yard I have lights again. He also replaced 2 smoke & co detectors and installed a surge protector. Scott was very friendly and helpful, giving me some good idea's for installing lights in my kitchen. Great job Scott! I will most likely be calling The Shock Doctors in the future. AMAZING! I have had other electrical contractors and companies visit my house over the years and none of them are as good as the Shock Doctors. Professional, punctual, polite. And boy! Do they know their stuff!! I have aluminum wiring and many companies won't even touch it. The Shock Doctors did an "aluminum rejuvenation" technique that involves these little adaptors for every single receptacle, switch, and light fixture in my house. They even replaced our old "wired" smoke alarms with new 10-year-permanent-battery combo units for fire & CO2. The ESA inspector must have been impressed with their work because he said they clearly know what they are doing. Very happy dealings with Lara, Chadwick, and Jonathan!! Thank you to everyone.

Thank you to The Shock Doctors who are always available to answer my call for assistance no matter how small or large the project is. I can count on them to provide sound advice for my electrical needs and to leave the worksite safer than they found it. Additionally, they return quickly to fix something that did not turn out quite right. And they will do their work with care to prevent mess or clean it up thoroughly afterward, unlike many other contractors. I have 100% confidence and trust in them for advice and implementation.

I’m not writing this review because of the electrician that came out, the guy was great and informative. I’m giving this review because the prices are outrageous. $2500 to hook up a hot tub? The materials alone would only cost $500 plus the electrical safety permit is $300. And this is for any size breaker, 40-60 amp. If you are looking to connect a hot tub, there are way cheaper options or I would learn how to do it yourself (its not hard)

I have so many positive things to say about Jonathan from The Shock Doctors. Having undergone substantial renovations and repairs these past months, I really needed their help with a number of things: adding dedicated circuits for large appliances such as furnace, tankless hot water heater, sump pump, dehumidifier, washing machine, dryer, etc., as well as installing and moving new outlets and smart smoke/CO detectors, in addition to bringing existing outlets up to code, fixing and installing and properly venting a range hood and hard dryer vent to the outside. Jonathan very likely saved us from a fire due to a nicked wire tucked inside my insulation I had no idea about, as a result from improper and unsafe work previously done by someone who is not a qualified electrician. Many other trades have been in and out of here lately, and I want to say that Jonathan's electrical work and professionalism has really stood out as exceptional in comparison: He always arrives on time with a smile, respectfully wears protective covers over his boots while indoors, explains what he has done, and shows me how to use the equipment. Similarly, the charges on the invoice are very clear: every specific job has its own set price, which is very important to someone who might not know what to expect in terms of cost. Jonathan has gone above and beyond in trying to help me with a difficult washer/dryer install, to the point of giving me his personal cell phone number to use if the washer/dryer serviceman tried to blame the electrical as the reason my machines weren't working properly, so that Jonathan could advocate on my behalf. Another thing I have noticed is that Jonathan does very neat work: despite having to do cutting with a saw and drilling, there are never shavings left around, or cut bits of wire. Similarly, Jonathan makes round holes with his saw that are the perfect size for ducting. Other trades have not been as meticulous. When Jonathan noticed the thermostat wire hanging loose inside my closet going down into the basement, he felt that this was sloppy and managed to run the wire inside the wall for me instead. He has such attention for detail that he even left me some extra foil tape and special metal hanging material for the washer/dryer installers, so they would be able to properly secure the dryer duct the way it should be. Anytime I require any electrical work (or even have questions), I will not hesitate to call The Shock Doctors - their superior workmanship leaves me with nothing to worry about. Happiness is peace of mind!
