He gave us several recommendations to remove shock hazards. He checked our home electrical as well and made suggestions on how to upgrade our smoke detector system. I called these folks to handle an emergency at a business location on a Sunday night and they not only responded promptly, but were incredibly friendly. They let me know up front what my options were and how much it would cost for a weekend/after hours visit versus a weekday one, which was super helpful. The electrician who came to do the work was lovely and got us up and running again quickly and with little fuss. Will not hesitate to call them again. I'd give them 6 stars if that were an option!

These guys saved me. I was on the East Coast when my power line from the house connection to the meter broke. I was able to work with Luciano over phone and text to sort out emergency repairs in coordination with Toronto Hydro! I was literally driving from Cape Breton to Halifax while all of this went down (assist to Apple CarPlay on my wife’s car). The bill that I paid over the phone with a credit card was less than quoted! I came home to a clean site with a top quality installation. In an emergency, these guys came through in less than quoted. I won’t hesitate to use them for any and all electrical work I need.

I had read some reviews about the company and gave them a call to get an estimate for my hot tub installation.The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and explained that there will be an estimate charges and was able to get 2 techs right away at my door. What I really wasn't happy with is that the 2 gentlemen showed up at the place took like 2 hours of estimating the job and at the end they weren't still sure about some code requirement for the job and they finally gave me an outrageous number that was 2.5 times of what the other company quoted me for. The only reason I didn't wanna go with the other guys is that they were totally booked for the next 2 weeks. Anyways Hi- lite missed on that job and my future jobs as well.

There was a crackling noise behind an electrical panel; a google search showed this could be a dangerous situation: an electrician needs to be contacted **immediately**, so I found Hi-Lite Electric and Matthew came out shortly to take a look. He was quick to discover that the bus bar behind the breakers was carboned-up which was causing sparking. The panel needed to be replaced, and he came out the next day with a modern one. A master electrician, he worked quickly and safely which took most of the day. He cleaned up after himself and all is well now. Electrical panels can be expensive, but now I know the house is safe. He's also sweet. Thank-you Matthew!

Probably zero?? We talked to the person in-charge (sucheyan).. clearly confirmed $89 is the fee to come in and complete diagnosis. The cost for repair will be discussed after the diagnosis. Electrician walks in and says the fee only for travel is $89. To begin diagnosis I have to pay $277.. ?!?!?! I disagreed and he left. So unethical and disappointing experience.

Customer service was great, and the electricians did a great job. That being said, I did find the prices high (and this could be just the electrical industry). I had to have the work done by an electrician due to condo rules. But I felt the cost was pretty high for what needed to be done.

The power line to my house was damaged when a branch from a nearby tree fell on it. The line was later disconnected by the utility because it was unsafe. I had to immediately find a contactor to do the repairs required for reconnection as there was no electricity in my house! Hi-Lite Electric was the only contractor that was able to send a technician the same day. Angie was extremely responsive on the phone. The technician (Matthew) who came to assess the damage explained to me in detail what needed to be done. Matthew and his brother Steven were able to start work very early the next day to do the repairs. Once they were finished they handled all the formalities with the Electricity Safety Authority (Hi-Lite Electric is part of their Authorized Contractor Program) and the utility for the reconnection. The utility technician who came later in the day for the reconnection specifically told me that the repair work done was amongst the best he had ever seen. Hi-Lite Electric is a great family company with the highest professional standards and I will not hesitate to recommend them for similar electrical work. Hakan Gunay Toronto

It was an emergency situation whereby my mom lost power to a few of the rooms in her home. I wasn't expecting anyone to come out to the house over a long weekend but Hi-Lite Electric came through. I called Hi-Lite Electric when in an emergency situation - water was coming in through my electrical panel. I spoke with Angie who was very professional and pleasant, and she assured me that an electrician would be out to see me immediately. Matthew showed up promptly and provided me with an explanation of the work and a reasonable quote. The work required a complete re-install of a new panel + new meter and casing outside the house. When Matthew returned to do the work, be brought with him Luciano, Steve and one other apprentice. They were very friendly throughout the process, and exceptionally professional. Luciano was especially great to work with, as he walked me through the step by step process. They completed the work in the estimated time. I would highly recommend working with Hi-Lite Electric.

I had waited over a year to install a ceiling fan in my children's bedroom. I called Hi-Lite Electric Inc once and within minutes I had an appointment booked for installing my ceiling fan. The Electricians; Matthew & Steven; arrived on time, professional, courteous, and were upfront regarding fees before any work was started. We had power out in half of our house. We called Hi-lite Electric emergency service. Within 5 minutes we had a call back from the electrician who actually checked with Alectra for known problems before making a house call to potentially save us money. Within an hour the electrician was at our house and quickly diagnosed the problem i.e the panel had to be replaced because there was arcing in the panel which is a safety hazard. He quickly restored power to the furnace and was back with his team early the next morning. The panel was replaced expertly and cleanly and they did a full house circuit mapping because the old panel was not mapped. As a courtesy they also installed a ceiling light fixture. Service was friendly, efficient, and prompt. All of our questions were answered knowledgeably and courteously. We were extremely satisfied with their service and we highly recommend this company.

I first contacted a company before HI Lite whom quoted me "heaven & earth" to fix a small light in our laundry room and potentially replace our electrical box. I was pleasantly surprised at how professional they were over the phone. Arranging the tech was easy and assuring me that prices would be given up front and not hidden from me like other companies. Matthew came to my house, I was so thrilled that he was able to fix the light in our laundry room which had coincidently affected several plugs throughout the house. Matthew even took down a florescent tube light that was of worry in my laundry room. Overall I was extremely pleased with how professional Matthew was and assured me from the beginning that things could be fixed. He even went as far as to suggest taking down a light at the bottom of the stairs to our basement which could cause a fire due to the dangerous wiring that had been put in place by the previous owners. I would definitely recommend Hi-lite any day. Actually my husband and I will probably be calling on their services again soon to replace our electrical box.

Very Professional, contacted Hi-Lite and got a response back immediately from Matthew He arrived on the property to take care of a couple of electrical issues which started from a lightning strike! Installed a door bell transformer/chime, outdoor motion activated lights, vanity lights for two bathrooms, also replaced dated smoke alarms and added some additional electrical outlets in the basement! Matt recommended a surge suppressor to be added to my electrical panel for prevention of any sort of electrical surges which can happen at anytime! The family run business at Hi-Lite Electric was amazing. We had our hydro mast/wires ripped off the house from a falling tree during the December '21 windstorm. Luciano took my call in the late evening on Saturday, and was there at our house by 8am on Sunday starting the repair. They were responsive, compassionate, and very knowledgeable (including dealing with all aspects of the safety certification and coordination with the city to reconnect the power). It would take too long to share all my experience with Hi-Lite Electric Inc. Called the company because I was having some issues with my fuse panel. Over the phone, Luciano have me checked few things just to make sure it wasn't a minor issue (like a blown fuse). Right there, it shows that he is not just after your money. The very next day, he came and fixed the problem. Not only did he fix the issue, he gave me advice to change the meter base and the electrical panel. Long story short, the technician from Alectra Utilities told me I was very lucky I changed the meter base as this could have caused a more serious problem. Luciano is experienced and professional. Angela (I even called her Angie) will take time to make sure your needs are met. There was no pressure. You know the cost upfront. It was a very pleasant and positive experience. The crew is very friendly (already called the company twice). I definitely recommend Hi-Lite Electric Inc. Peace of mind? Priceless!
