I called Benoit Electric to install new lighting in my basement. The team at Benoit from top-to-bottom are a pleasure to work with, and true professionals both in their trade and in customer service. John gave an informative estimate with honest suggestions, and Denise & Jessica at the office are ever-friendly and on top of booking and questions. The technician who performed the work listened to my preferences, was accommodating towards a last-minute change to the lighting scheme I wanted, and showed plenty of care down to the clean-up after the job was done. Incidentally, I heard of Benoit when I did office work for a general contractor. He had at least a few companies in his contact list for each trade, but when it came to electrical work there was only one name on his list. If that's not a vote of confidence, I don't know what is!

Great honest company. I got an Electric Thermal Storage Heater from them a number of years ago. They were friendly and did a good job. They made a mistake on the estimate and had to upgrade my panel, but they did it at no extra charge with no whining. The only reason I knew is because I noticed and asked and the tech told me what had happened and that his boss was absorbing the extra cost.

While I believe the work that is completed is done well the customer service is dismal. A job that Benoit said would take 5 business days, maximum 7 is now on day 10 and not complete. They have not showed up to work on a Monday yet. I am writing this review on the third Monday they have not showed. The lead electrician gets pulled from my project to do work at other locations. All my other projects for the house are backed up because Benoit can’t get it together to complete the necessary work. It’s very frustrating. I expected way better from a company that is so highly regarded. UPDATE: I have recently used Benoit again as it is very hard to find tradespeople in the HRM right now. I had a completely different experience. The work I asked to have done was completed in one day. The electricians sent were friendly and knowledgable and they stayed until the work was done. Very happy with this service.

Get a quote in writing. The job took more labour than quoted, and the technician charged for more time than he worked mumbling that he might as well charge an extra half hour as otherwise he would end up stuck in traffic.

It appears trustworthy and professional. prompt response and Denise was a great person to talk to on the phone, very friendly and understanding. Technician arrived on time, I couldn't remember his name but he was a cool guy. It's great to have a professional with good customer service oriented attitude to do the job. We woke up to find our lights dimmed and many of our appliances dead - including furnace (brrrrr!). Called Benoit Electric and described the problem to the lady who answered. She said it sounded like something might have been wrong with the powerline's connection to the house, and suggested I call NS Power, even gave me their customer service number. She was correct, and saved us the cost of an unecessary service call. Good to know there are still companies like this!

Fantastic Experience. Was looking to get the house hooked up to my generator. They were fast swinging out to the house and quoted me a couple of options. I chose to go with the Generlink solution. The price was reasonable and the service was exceptional. Most 'word-of-mouth' electricians either never get back to you or take forever. Not these guys, they are a professional outfit, kind, courteous and extremely efficient. But definitely do NOT go to Benoit Electric, because the next time I need them, they may not be as quick. ;-)

In our solar system installation and in our electrical upgrade, the team was very professional and completely knowledgeable and addressed every concern we had right away. They are polite, respectful and hard-working. They care about the small details. I definitely will hire them again and highly recommend them. And we love the solar system they recommended! all our electricity and heat comes from solar now.

Made an appt over the phone with the secretary. The day of the appt. I wait at home by 1pm no one arrives i call them the secretary says oh he got tired up at his last job so he isn't coming. I said he is tied up for the rest of the day he can't come at 3pm or 4pm. She said I will get a hold of him and see if he can come over when he is done. I never got a phone call not did they ever call me to rebook a time. It was the worst service well non service I have ever had.

Lee was exceptionally courteous and kind when he came to our home and he sorted out each of the problems we called in about in short time. The only issue I had was the fact that they were about an hour and half over on the timeframe they initially gave us on when they would arrive. A courtesy call would have been appreciated, but I will definitely use Benoit Electric again should my house require more electrical work.

Have to say what a fantastic experience we had today, from the friendly booking service to our electrician Owen! He was on time, professional and very friendly. He went above and beyond putting the tiny crystals on our new chandeliers, yes multiple ???? he takes pride in a job well done!
