The electricians were prompt, professional, and courteous. I had them out to install one outdoor receptacle. They quoted me $1050 which seems pretty outrageous for max two hours of work. I received a more reasonable price elsewhere.

I have a typical Buffalo house: 100 yrs old, knob and tube wiring and fuses. Mike and his team came out and completely overhauled my electrical, and fixed problems that could have been tragic. I can not thank them enough for the work they did. This is the absolute best company to have service your electrical needs. This was not a small job, and they completed it in the time they said they would. If I ever need more work done, I will call them first. Thank you again for all the work you did!

What a wonderful experience. Outdated external power line down. Scherer (Mike) was quickly responsive to an email and then came out first thing in the morning, right on time. Offered estimates for various services, provided them quickly and efficiently. Great service, straightforward explanation of the work, left not a trace. I would give them a 10 star review if that were possible.

These people are horrible. I called them for an appointment and they were happy to oblige. I asked them for the charge to come give us an estimate. They said the charge is $89. Fine. I can deal with that. However, I asked that someone call me and can assure me that the work CAN be done, because I didn’t want to pay $89 to find out it can’t be done. They DID call, and they assured me that the work COULD be accomplished. Well, the first thing the Scherrer electricians said to me after introducing themselves, was that the work could NOT be done. I still had to pay them for their visit, and was furious to have to do so. They told me all their calls go through a “call center” down south, and ”they don’t know what they are talking about.” WELL THAT’S NOT MY PROBLEM! Don’t EVER use Scherrer Electricians. Clearly there is a problem at that place with communication. PLUS, they wanted to charge me $800 to install 2 Ring cameras that already had outlets directly underneath to plug them in. Literally: $800 to screw 4 screws into the house above the door and plug them in. That’s highway robbery! I will never use these people again, and I urge you not to either! Extraordinarily over-priced.

Installed a new panel and meter at my old home in 2013. Never had any issues! Great service, and friendly technicians made it very enjoyable. I was worried my dogs would bother them, but they didn't mind at all! Really professional and highly recommended. They charged me a 79$ dispatch fee, but brought this huge truck and I was surprised they could do a full service change right on the spot. The Inspector came out a week afterward (Lon Robinson) and everything went without a hitch. Thanks Mike you have a customer for life!

Scheduled an estimate to have a service upgrade and they showed up on time (during a snow storm) which was great. Had another estimate done by somebody else (which was cheaper) but decided to choose Scherer cause they showed up on time. So set up an appointment 2 months in advance to have the work done. About a day or two before the appointment I was notified they can’t come out because Dig Safe hasn’t marked the site because they are backed up and they would be out as soon as it gets marked. Never heard back and this was like 8 months ago. I’ve had dig safe out to mark the same area since then with no issues. Will now have to have this done in 2022 and prices have probably gone up on material. To reply to the owners response: I messaged your company a week before the original appointment and asked if everything was all set for the appointment and the girl told me yes. Never did she say anything about a deposit or a signature. I was never informed about a reschedule date of 5/31.

Just FYi for others. I called to get a fairly decent size project done with new electric run to garage and new sub panel added. I was told that be a few weeks but they would come out take a look and there was $79 site charge. Then a estimate would be given and job done onsite. Not sure how they planned on digging a ditch and running all of that in a couple hours in the afternoon.

I sent Scherer Electric a message on their website at 7pm. Within 30 minutes I got a call from Mike. Very efficient office staff. Got a quick appointment. My issue was underground wiring. He had tools to pinpoint the problem, dug up the area, found the cut wire, spliced it and problem fixed within 3 hours. Cleaned up the area. I was impressed. They know their stuff and have the necessary diagnostic tools. Thanks Mike and John for a job well done.

The professionalism and timeliness from my initial call answered by Cheryl in the call center to the arrival of Cody and Dave are two of the reasons that I have chosen Scherer Electric once again. (My home is almost 80 years old and I expect ongoing electrical problems.)I appreciate that Cheryl was able to get the technicians here in a timely fashion because I had had electricity in only half the house. Cody and Dave arrived and troubleshot the panel, 8 outlets inside and outside as well as the garage. They found numerous issues such as a broken circuit breaker, water in a junction box and a frayed cord in the wall heater among other items. Except for the wall heater they repaired them all leaving an extremely satisfied customer. I would definitely recommend Scherer Electric. Thank you folks!

I have used Scherer Electric at both of my houses for several years. They are experts that fix the root cause of the problem -- they recommend options to allow me to decide whether I want an acceptable repair for the problem at hand or a system upgrade (if I am looking for a longer term solution with a payback). They also installed a whole house generator system (which was just used in the recent 18 hour power outage). They trouble shoot, fix lighting, and do small jobs in addition to large jobs -- they installed a 600 AMP service which was needed at our other location. Most importantly, we trust them to provide a safe and professional solution every time.

Review is based on inability to schedule an appointment, not their actual service or work. I called to schedule a visit but unfortunately they were booked until December, (more than one month out), and the only option was an emergency visit which has an upcharge to the standard $79 visit/diagnosis fee. Unfortunate as they were the top result when searching online.
