Update July 25, 2018 --------------------------------- Mr. Robart in a mediation meeting insists on getting paid although he admits that he quit the job due to shortage of electricians in his company to fulfill our project. He said: "I do not care about your losses I have to pay my contractors for the day they worked with you even if I did not finish the job for you and that money has to come from you." Update will be posted all over social media. Update July 15, 2018: -------------- Robart is claiming that we have other workers filing law suits against our company, we challenge him in court to prove that any contractor has ever had any problems with our company other than him. Thank you for giving me another reason to sue you for personal defaming. A screenshot has been taken from your claim herein. ------------------------------------------------------------ Original feedback --------------------------- As a general contractor company, we contacted Rob for a job and after they started the first day we told them we will contact them the next week to finish the job and Rob said give us 2-3 days notice before you want us again on site. We gave them 3 days notice but they said they can't come till after 10 days from the notice. We tried to explain to them that we encounter a huge financial loss every day we are delayed and they have to respect their promise, but unfortunately we were treated very arrogantly and in a rude way by Rob and his office, and on top of that they cancelled the project from their end and removed their name from the permit without even notifying us and sent us an invoice for the incomplete job they started and cancelled without any consideration to our losses. Please stay away from them. They do not respect their clients or treat them in a good, professional way. They are after a quick buck and that's it.

After searching for electricians that do Aluminum pigtailing, I found Robart, and decided to contact them. After talking to them, I appreciated their responsiveness, and open-ness, and they were about the price I expected. Nathan and Jake (I might be wrong on that name, sorry!) came to the house and were super quick, effecient, and extra helpful. They offered to replace all of the devices in the basement, since they had to remove them all to check for aluminum, and I went for it. It ended up being $200 less than quoted, done super quick (and inspected fine) and I got more done than planned. I couldn't have asked for better service, and highly recommend them to anyone!

The previous owner of our house used Robart Electrical to complete a large job at our request. When we came to inspect the work, we were extremely happy with the results. Our home inspector even commented on how nicely the work was done, and said he wasn't surprised because Robart does great work. So naturally, when we needed some electrical work done for our bathroom project, we called Robart. It took a couple calls / days to get set up, but they were able to come our pretty quickly. The work they did directly for us was every bit as professional as we expected, and while the work was fairly light, the pricing was well within our expectations. Robart Electrical Services is our go-to for all future electrical work in out home, and we would highly recommend them.

Over the Christmas Holidays we had an incident that made us not feel safe in our home. The police advised us to install a doorbell camera, and when we looked it up the videos were simple and we thought we could handle it ourselves. When we actually looked into it, because our house is from the 70’s with some spotty electrical work in between, we really needed an electrician. Not every electrician is willing to install Google Nest Hello Doorbells, and the ones on the Nest website would only install it (and not the necessary transformer or extension wires required). They, in fact, did not even want to attach it to our brick siding. I was told to call around, and being that it was the Christmas holidays, no one was answering. My brother let me know about Robart as his company uses them in many houses, and I gave them a call. Not only was my call answered, but it was the owner (Rob). He provided a timeline and the possible needs were assessed by phone. He advised to make the job go faster as there were two parts (transformer and doorbell) he recommended two workers come out and the rate was the best we had heard of to date. They also were able to come the following week (as everyone was still on holidays, and Rob explained he did not think this warranted an emergency electrician for a higher price). The honesty was welcomed, and I didn’t feel like it was a hustle. The office staff were friendly with setting things up in a timely manner too! On the day of the install, the electricians came early, which was nice but I would have liked a call telling me this option (so we could get our dog in the right place for when people came over). The workers were thorough in their install, but you could tell they don’t get many of the Google Nest Hello Doorbells. I think with more installs they will be more aware of the process and connections. One of the things we were advised to do was get a new door chime as ours is the original from the 70’s. At the time, we didn’t realize the new chime was wired but not compatible with the nest (once connected there was a constant ring), and so a large portion of time was spent making that work. In hind sight, I wish we would have connected to the original first and if that did not work, then connect to the new one (advise for if you try to install one in future). The work looks great, there was minimal mess, and the door bell functions perfectly. They were on time (if not early), and they were accommodating to our schedule. They were professional whenever we spoke with them. They provided us the best option (instead of a full rewire they added extensions and showed us the safety with doing so, they hid the wire and protected it, made the install look visually appeasing from the outside). My only thing stopping us from giving this company a 5 star review is that there was a travel cost we were not told about for the electricians which added thirty minutes to our time. When we googled our house to the Robart office, we are a 17 minute drive, and this took us off guard. If you hire them (or any electrician) I would suggest you clarify any additional costs to the hourly charge so you are also not taken off guard, and can know what to fully expect. It could also be that this is what all electricians do, and we were not aware of it (first time ever working with one). Any information we can pass on to others is always helpful. We would still highly recommend this company for electrical work.

Way back in 2017 I hired Robart Electrical Services Ltd. to upgrade the electrical service on my home in Edmonton, for the purpose of resale. The job was to replace an existing panel, which lacked at 100 amp main circuit breaker with a 200 amp service which had a breaker and a completely updated panel. I found it a pleasure to deal with Robert Electric at that point. They answered my questions, give me a quote and proceeded with the job. This was in the dead of winter, the way they structured the job was such that the inside temperature of my home never went below 16 centigrade. They were efficient, effective, and a pleasure to deal with. The final price came in slightly below what they had quoted me. Fast forward to 2021. I was looking for a quote for an electrical inspection and possible work on a property I was thinking of purchasing in BC. The electrician to whom I was referred did not return my phone calls. At this point I was wondering, whom I going to call? I called Rob at Robert Electric. At this point I was even considering bring Robart Electrical Services Ltd. out to BC to do the job. Rob spent about 20 minutes with me on the phone answering all of my questions and bringing up considerable number of other issues which I had not considered. Rob, I thank you for this. I can’t say enough about Robart Electrical. I’ve just used them for the third time and they never disappoint me. On this job they put six LED disc lights in my vaulted living room ceiling. These lights were tricky to install as there was no attic space to work in. They were able to snake the wires into the ceiling within a 3x4” drywall cut that I repaired easily. After being overcharged by a different company and getting mediocre service, I called on Robart Electrical to do some major electrical work in my home. They are professional, knowledgeable, experienced and friendly and their prices are fantastic. I've since had them back two more times to replace all my light fixtures on all my floors. I highly recommend these guys, they're trustworthy, affordable and they know their stuff. Please also check Home Stars for more reviews, they have quite a lot of them on that site.

Do not read too much into the 4 Stars... Robart Electrical scored 4.95 in my books (which is unfortunately, not 5).. no one gets 5, so go ahead and round up if you want, I would have no issues with that. I had 3 quotes for my electrical job which consisted of running new power to my garage and replacing and cleaning up the main panel, as well as a new meter base install. R.E.S. had provide the most detailed quote and was very reasonable in their cost I was prepared to be without power for more than one day, but the 2 person team came in and had it all done within 8 hours. I did have a small issue during the job that required my intervention, but it was minor and the Journeyman had it fixed ASAP... and I mean immediately! citing, "Until the Customer was satisfied, he wasn't." I was impressed with the positive attitude. There was another small issue with the exact meter height. but when you are dealing with city inspectors and I wasn't at home at the time... They had to do what was right, and they did. Overall: Good job to him, his apprentice and Robart Electrical Services. in general. Yes , recommend.

Robart Electric was requested to replace a faulty photocell which was still under warranty at my commercial building. While there, they were asked to remove two light bulbs one of which required the use of a ladder. I was very disappointed I was charged so much ($194) for the removal of these bulbs. After subsequent discussion, I was not able to have these charges reduced which I felt were unnecessarily high. I don't recommend this company to others!

My tenants called with some electrical concerns so I did a google search and made a few calls. This was over the Christmas holiday and their staff was off for approximately another 4 days. I believe it was the owner Rob I spoke to. He told me he would get back to me within a couple hours which he did and told me he would have someone out there the next day, and they arrived exactly when they said they would. Rather than just assume he had to come/send someone out he gave me a test to try first to see if it was an issue Epcor would need to come out and fix. We had Robart in to install an electrical mast on our roof and fix the patchwork electrical system left by our house's past owners. Rob came to give a quote very quickly after I called them, and the electricians showed up on time on the scheduled day and did excellent work. Rob did a great job figuring out solutions for our issues and was very clear with the options we had and what they would be responsible for / what we would have to do on our own. We really appreciated how they handled everything that needed to be done with EPCOR and electrical permits. Saved us a lot of stress. After they were done and had left, we found that one of our important appliances wasn't working correctly. However, Robart was unable to come out for several days because they didn't have anyone available on the weekend and we had our work done on a Friday. While I appreciate that they give their employees the weekend off and don't overwork them, we had to be a little pushy to get someone to come out early the following week since they initially told us nobody could come until Thursday. When they did come, the electricians figured out and fixed the issue quickly. Still, we ended up not being able to use the appliance in question for the whole weekend. In addition, their final invoice for services was incorrect and we had to ask for it to be fixed. This and the appliance issue are why we are giving them four stars instead of five. Robart's actual electrical work was exceptional, and the appliance issue had to do with our housing electrical setup and nothing to do with anything they did in our house. I'd recommend them to others who need excellent electrical work done properly, but be aware that you may have some communication lapses with their office.
