Shawn at Mr Electric went above and beyond to help, source parts, and fix/install a new breaker. He kept me informed on timelines and costs. I can’t say enough good things! Where do I start , call a professional most DIY’ers are not capable of this kind of work.I called Friday evening start of a long weekend no lights on a few circuits. I spoke to a comforting voice knowing my situation was urgent . She assured me a tech would be at my house at 9:00 am Saturday.A few minutes later I received an email confirming my appointment.The tech arrived 15 minutes early, preparing his tools and rang the door bell on time.WOW. He introduced himself and got right to work, diagnostics were key and he methodically worked his way through my issue which was self induced.The tech was very conscientious of his work and cleaned any little shrapnel that fell on the ground. I am extremely satisfied with this company and will have them back for more work and will be recommending MR.Electric to anyone who will needing their services. Thank you all for helping me . Warren

Excellent service all round. I've had lots of service people over the years - JP was thoroughly professional and service-oriented. We had several circuits out, he came out and quickly diagnosed that we had lost a power phase, and then traced it to a loose outside line. He helped me talk it through with Epcor, and then stayed for an hour till they arrived, to confirm they would address it. Paid the standard minimum service charge of $150 plus tax; this is quite reasonable, even cheap compared to some service calls. I was pleased as punch, I'd pulled my hair out for hours trying to figure it out. Good company. And on a Saturday! He was at my place 40 minutes after I called. Saved us a painful weekend!

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. We were in need of an electrician so we Googled it and found Mr. Electric. When I asked for a quote, he said he'd have to wait to see what the issue was. I understand to a certain extent but there is always a base charge for driving to see what the issue is and diagnosing an issue. That was my error for not requiring more information before scheduling the call. It was a simple fix and I was told that the lowest diagnostic charge is $205. When I raised my eyebrows and asked if he could do better, he did lower it to $150 plus tax, which was nice given he was only there for 15 minutes. I suggested that he let people know what the base charge is for just coming out even if it's 15 minutes. We don't mind paying people for their time but to not give an estimate and "surprise" people with a high charge didn't set well. He was a nice man and very knowledgeable so this is just more informative to potential customers.

I found the service to be top notch. The technician was highly competent at installing our smart devices and gave sound advice on costs upfront so we could make a calculated decision on some of our electrical upgrade ideas. The service was fast and the price was fair. You’re in good hands with these guys from our experience. Services Provided: We had wires run to power a smart light in the center of the living room that required attic work and pulling a wire down through a wall to the control switch. We had a smart garage door installed and setup to a pre-existing system. We had an external motion light moved to an alternative location, outside our garage.

I decided to call this company based on the two positive reviews I read on Yelp.ca. The company website also looked alright. I also saw their ad on YouTube which promises excellent, reliable, professional service. I called the number on their website. The phone rang several times and then I heard a shuffling noise in the background yet no one answered. I said "Hello?". After some more shuffling a man answered "Hello?!?" as if surprised why his phone rang and there was a person on the other end expecting a response. This made me think I may have dialed the wrong number. I asked "Is this Mr Electric?" and I think the man said "Yeah". And I think he said something like "I wasn't supposed to answer the phone". So then I thought "Then why the heck did you even pick up???!!!". I was appalled by the way my call was answered. The man was so totally unprofessional. I did not expect anything like that from a chain company that operates across North America. This right away gave me a bad 1st impression of the company. The manner my call was answered did not inspire trust and confidence. I proceeded with my inquiry about the work I needed done. Although I got some info, I thought to myself "Do I really want these people working in my home?" I didn't end up booking with this strange man on the phone. And then I thought I should maybe give the company a second chance. I tried their online booking service Thursday evening August 22nd. The website proudly says "immediate response". Friday passed and no reply from the company. No email. No phone call. No voice mail. I'm so very disappointed and so totally unimpressed. I thought franchise owners of a North-American chain company like this one would more likely be quite conscious about 1st impressions and protecting their reputation compared to small mom-and-pop businesses. Clearly, I was wrong.

Had a technician come to my house for a quote to instal lighting as he stood there with his iPad typing in for 15 minutes and making small talk and I'm trying to get this guy to hurry up with quote He then says he needs to see my electrical panel before he gives me the quote and I walk over to show him electrical panel and he proceeds to put a sticker for Mr. Electric on my panel. I said no thanks I don't want a Mr. Electric sticker on my panel and I would like the quote and he said that is policy and I said that's fine I will get back to you if I need you or want your services for the electrical work and as he was leaving he said that it is their policy to take pictures as well as wanted me to sign something on his iPad ( which I declined) it made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked if he took pictures which he than said no. I go to great lengths to put security in my home so I am secure and I felt very unsecure in my home.

He stopped by the first time and did a thorough review of things before providing a very reasonable written quote. We scheduled a second appointment later in the month for him to come back to install the new fixtures, which now included a new hood fan we had purchased. He was right on time, his workmanship was top quality, he gave us some additional ideas going forward, and thoroughly cleaned up before he left. I would definitely recommend Mr. Electric's service based on customer service alone. Originally I had set up an appointment for 5 PM, and no one showed up. Called the company and someone showed up at 6 PM. $145 charge just for showing up late. I had an issue with my bathroom exhaust fan, charged me another $145 to “diagnose” that it wasn’t working and I needed a replacement. I already knew that ... said if they provided the replacement it was 30% up-charge for him to pick up the part. I told him I would get it myself, told me he would come back once I had the part for another charge. So at this point I had spent $300 and my issue was not fixed, and I was not happy. One of the managers of the business saw my original google review and contacted me to correct the issue. He told me that as long as I got the replacement part - they would send someone out to install the fan, free of charge. Well I can say that today an electrician came out, free of charge and installed the fan - which now works perfectly again. Amazing customer service on their part, and I will be using them again the future for any electric needs based on that alone.

Mr Electric performed a service upgrade to change my house power supply from 60amp to 200amp. They did this in the dead of winter in 2020 and were really great about it. I had some concerns about the process because they would have to turn my power off during the switch, and then for the city to do do the inspection all the while I would have no heat in my house, due to not having power. The work was done very fast and they lined up everything with the install and for epcore to turn off the power and the city inspection and then for epcore to turn on the power. It was all done before my house had a chance to cool down a bit and with very little disruption to me. I would highly recommend!

We had a faulty breaker that kept flipping off; called Gabe (to come in and hopefully assess and fix it) at 10am on a Sunday. He was onsite within 1hr; diagnosed the issue; picked up the new part (going to 2 different stores) and installed/fixed our problem by 1pm - which was exceptional. More importantly, he did excellent work and left no uncertainty that he would come back and fix it if we had any further problems - and left us feeling very reassured. We've had limited occasion to call an electrician before - but it feels great to have a good one now. Fair prices, fast response, excellent quality of work, and strong customer support and standing behind his work. Easy 5 stars.

I had a few different issues to look at and Garbiel called when he was on his way. Gabriel was very pleasant and professional and addressed all of my concerns and fixed the issues that could be fixed and gave recommendations with issues with my stove (that wasn't an electrical problem). He was very efficient and was so kind and friendly and made sure that I knew if I had any questions with anything he worked on that I could contact him with any concerns or questions. Great service! I would definitely call again with any future electrical issues.

Nothing but lying snakes. DO NOT HIRE. DO. NOT. HIRE. you will get cheated and over charged. I worked for them for about 3 months they do not pay their employe's on time or the right amount and they tell you to overcharge customers and hide charges in your estimate that you don't see until its time to pay but they make you sign first on the 'estimate'. I have never seen a company so disgusting and greedy. And the lies wow. They lie right to your face over and over. Revolting company

Woke up the other day and noticed a funny smell.. an electric outlet had burnt - good thing I caught that in time and I was home. I found Mr Electric on a google search and gave them a call. Within 20 minutes I had a technician on the way. Gabe was quick to see the problem and immediately fixed it - within 10 minutes. Everything was perfectly installed and repaired. Gabe also gave good advice on electric fireplaces ( the culprit ) and space heaters. Total cost was below what I expected , which was great . The service and time it was all done was also not what I expected. Highly recommend Mr Electric - and if you happen to get Gabe to your house, trust me, he is 100% on it.
