Unprofessional and defensive staff members. Terrible communication skills. No written quote was provided. On September 7th, 2021 the waterproofing company that I was dealing with reached out to Pro Trades to have my AC unit disconnected so that excavation could take place. The technician that came out was pleasant and I was provided with a receipt. Unfortunately, the receipt did not stipulate the service completed it simply stated the company's name and the amount...quite vague. On Sept 9th, 2021 Pro Trades was contacted to set up an appointment to re-connect the AC and have it installed on brackets. A verbal quote (total amount) was provided over the phone with no details as to the breakdown. Busy dealing with the waterproofing company and personal work I reached out to Pro Trades on the evening of Sept 9th to seek clarify on the breakdown. My call was answered by Jackie (an answering service) for Pro Trades. Although I understood that this was an answering service I had to ask Jackie between 3-4 times to please relay a message to Dianne Sleiman (Pro Trades Windsor) asking for clarification on the quoted amount. Jackie DID NOT WANT to relay the message, I had to insist that she relay the message. Jackie advised me to phone back on the following business day. I cannot help but wonder what is the point of having an answering service if the receptionist refuses to relay a message and when she does relay the message upon insisting she relays the wrong message... (ISSUE #1) During the morning of September 10th, 2021 Dianne Sleiman (dispatcher) and I were able to speak. She advised me that Jackie told her to place a hold on the installation (this was never discussed with Jackie, ISSUE # 2). Considering that the quoted amount was quite steep and that I DID NOT RECEIVE A WRITTEN QUOTE (ISSUE #3) I asked if I could be provided with a breakdown of the cost as this was not previously disclosed. Dianne immediately got defensive and attempted to deflect the issue by stating "you asked for a quote not a breakdown" (ISSUE #4). Essentially, defensively deflecting any responsibility regarding her poor communication skills. Knowing full well that this type of question is legitimate and reasonable I called her out on her abrasive behaviour and stated that it is common business practice to provide a breakdown. Dianne became further defensive by saying we can be here all day arguing. She said that it is not their practice to provide a breakdown unless asked. Seems like I was asking her a huge favour (a breakdown on 4 to 5 things on the quote). Why so defensive about the breakdown? When she advised me that the quote was for an estimated 3 hrs of work I inquired if it happens to take less than 3 hrs to complete the work lets say two hours would the price be adjusted accordingly to reflect the lower cost? Her response was "well if you want to proceed that way" (ISSUE # 5). Companies only charge for the actual time it took to complete the work not based on a projected timeframe, seems like this is a practice unique to Pro Trades. Dianne was extremely unpleasant and argumentative as I sought clarification on the issue. Isn't a quote a document that lays out the details of the intended work to be undertaken and/or product(s) to be dispensed?? Isn't that the definition of a quote? Out of all of the service companies that I have dealt with I have never been provided with a verbal service quote before- the quotes have always been in writing. Since nothing is in writing what type of recourse does the customer have or warranty or lack there of? No paper trail or record of the telephone conversation and quoted amount, this is a great way to rid yourself of any responsibility or additional charges during invoicing. In conclusion, I opted to have my AC reconnected by a company that can professionally and respectfully answer my questions and provide me with a written quote with a warranty. There are several other companies out there!!!! This is my first and last time dealing with Pro Trades.

My husband called in for a plumber, agent booked the appointment an because it was an after hour she said it will be 120$ per hour. ( regular is 80$) the plumber showed up three hours late, spend an hour, bill came out littler less than 220$. upon asking why agent said it's travel time. This shows you the level of corruption the trade industry has reached when dealing with customers, it's a weasel mentality. they charge customers 120$/ hr if a plumber is driving . So beware of hidden expenses when dealing with protrade, and not getting a straight answer, it's just corruption, there's no other way to explain it. It was a bad experience, we kept our end of the bargain and they took advantage of us.

I'm very pleased with these guys. Definitely check them out. He had a big job to do he worked very hard as it was a complicated job. His coworkers came and helped get the rest of the things taken care of. Very polite guys. I definitely appreciate them coming out on a Sunday for an emergency call very promptly might I add. I highly recommend them for all your maintenance needs!

Always quick service and helpful advice! They will advise you if parts on your furnace or other items may need replacing soon before they cost you down time and leave it totally up to you if you want to replace now or when it breaks.

It was a waste of time going with Protrades. The sales agent under promised on the project. Tried getting a response and a resolution from the owner and numerous people at the company. The project was expected to take 1.5 weeks and took a month to deal with a small bathroom Reno. On top of that the sales agent was accusing us of foul language to him and blaming us on postponing the project. Then the owner and the sales agen had pressured us and used a scare tactic on filling Cort paperwork on having the project delayed. Plus they had unlawfully shared information to other companies to advoid working with us. Overall I would recommend not going with protrades and going to other companies for renovation projects.

Just dealt with ProTrades for the first time over an insurance claim. Their electrician Adam Salt was fantastic. He explained everything that he was going to do, fixed what he could and was great to work with. It was a relief to have people like Adam during such a stressful time. I would recommend them. I will keep them in mind the next time something breaks at my house and I need help getting it fixed.

My furnace was not staying on.... Would run for a bit then pop the breaker ....after 24 hours of not being able to figure it out myself and my house turned into a freezer I called the number on the sticker on my furnace.....it was these guys at Pro Trades. A woman answers and I tell her the problem...she says oh our HVAC girl is on lunch ...so she takes my name, phone number and address and says she'll call me when she comes back from lunch. Well good thing I didn't wait on these guys or I would be a block of ice by now. No call ba what so ever....nothing.... Still waiting 2 days later .... Long lunch I guess.

However, I call anyway, they said they'd have someone out this morning, I kind of chuckled and said okay... Well, much to my surprise, I think they were here in well under 1 hour. I called them one they, I had appointment right away for the next day with no waiting time at all. Dave was sent out, who was punctual, very professional, polite with outstanding business manners. He worked fast, very clean with minimal disturbance. Our sink was repaired a month before by another company and now not draining again. He cut off the under-sink pipes that were almost completely closed up with a sticky unremovable deposit from dishes. There was no way to fix that without replacing the whole piping. It was done within an hour. When he left there was no mess to clean after. Yes, it might seem a bit pricey at first but the other guy stayed longer so it cost the same or more and did not fix the problem. Dave repaired it in 40 minutes and replaced even the drains and stoppers. I do highly recommend this company . The customer service also was first-class quality. Thank you so much for a great job done.

These guys were simply *the best*! Greg Hubbard (sales) got me hot water and my new furnace and air conditioner installed ASAP! Fabulous service - I spoke with Greg Friday morning and the Pro Trade installation team was here first thing Monday morning. I used ProTrades to fix my AC unit not long ago and again recently for a plumbing issue. Both times the technicians were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The price for the AC repair was a pretty hefty but that is because a replacement part was needed and it was after hours so all things considered I wasn't really surprised by the bill. The plumber was great as well, he gave me some important information and some tips to help me out until I can get everything dug up and repaired properly (which I will be calling ProTrades for again). The price for an electric eel service was $80 per hour plus $44 flat fee for the service so it ended up being about $175 total after taxes which is cheaper than several other places I had called especially considering it took a while due to the amount of roots growing in the pipeline. All in all I really don't have much to say that is negative, I will be recommending this company to anyone I know who needs to use the services they provide.

We are very unhappy with install of plumbing within our home. We tried calling to get a prompt answer that the manager will call us. There was no follow up by manager and here we sit as very unhappy customers. We have a new sink drain installed on an angle causing water pooling. An exterior hose connection not installed in correct dimensions from the home to allow siding to go on. The attitude given was unbelievable when they did come back to place water lines in the new addition was unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong there was a couple individuals that where a pleasure to deal with. This post is happening after months with no resolutions. I strongly would not recommend!

Tyler was awesome. Immediately diagnosed our nonfunctioning thermostats and found a replacement fuse to get us going immediately. He placed an order for an inexpensive box of replacement fuses as well. Tyler also troubleshot our damper systems on Furnace #2 which has six zones. Some zones would open when they were not supposed to and others would not open when called. Several zones were not wired properly and Tyler narrowed those down and rewired them. We have not had an issue since and we had been living with the problem for four years because the original installation company was not able to conquer the problems.

Andrew was amazing, We were left with no power on a Friday night at 8pm because of an issue with the house and Hydro one having 0 customer service skills. Andrew was going back and forth with us Friday night on what to do to fix the problem and then was at the house at 7am Saturday morning to fix it.
