I have no experience about the technical competency or workmanship of this electrician. I was turned away by his appalling conduct towards customer. His web site looks impressive, yet it appears that the same man who always answers the phone may not want my business. Instead of admitting it he missed the appointments and wasted my time 2 days in a row. I need a 240V receptacle for a new washer. The resident manager of my rented apartment asked me to call this company so that I can better explain my needs and make appointment directly. I called on a Friday afternoon and Steve answered the phone. He asked me to send him pictures of the location and the electric panel, and we agreed that Tuesday morning should work for both of us. So after I took the pictures I sent them in an email an hour later. The email also included the time I’ll be available for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings – after 9:30 and 11:30 am respectively (I leave home early but can come back for the appointment). He didn’t show up Tuesday morning. I waited until noon to call him, he just said he didn’t check the email and suggested that we try Wednesday; again we agreed the time to be after 11:30 am. I came home at 11:15 on Wednesday and waited until 1:30 pm, when I called Steve, he said he did call me at 11:00 (when nobody was home), instead of leaving a message on the answering machine he assumed that I wouldn’t be home so he went on to do another job. I talked to my resident manager and she immediately contacted another electrician, who on the next day arrived in the middle of the quoted 4 hour time frame, inspected the facilities on the spot, and had everything done in less than an hour. If you want to do business with Mac’s Electric, in-advance planning/agreement could be wasted in a surprising way. Be prepared for changes according to whatever is in his mind.
