A BRIEF HISTORY - Headquartered in Brockville, Ontario, Canarm is structured around its three business units – consumer products, commercial HVAC products and agricultural products. We are privately owned and operated, and we proudly employ over 300 full-time employees. Began as Danor Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a small sheet metal shop in Gorrie, Ontario. In 1963, the operation was moved to Brockville, where a new three thousand square foot factory was built on a WWII training artillery range on Parkedale Avenue - the site of today's corporate offices. Danor made agricultural metal products such as hog troughs and turkey feeders.

My experience with Canarm products is mainly associated with there heated water livestock water bowls. In the fall of 2018 i purchased two new Canarm 100 HD water bowls, our local electrician trenched the power to both, i poured the pads, and the electrician hooked them up. To from the day they were installed till now i have had nothing but problems with one of the bowls. Its constantly tripping the breaker and freezing solid, resulting in split ball valves and an absolute mess. The other bowl has had zero problems, minus the float getting froze up once in awhile. Canaram sent out a new element as what the electrician and they thought was the problem, but its wasn't. So now i'm out $1600+ on one water bowl that still an absolute pain in the winter. Long and the short, buy a Ritchie water bowl or risk a 50% chance you waste $600 on a Canarm.

Word of caution if you purchase any of their products. Expect to pay to ship back to Brockville if you have any issue....at your expense!!! I purchased residential lights and all are failing after 3 months of limited use (were professionally installed in brand new basement rec room). I am outside the return window of the big box store where I purchased, and Canarm wants me to ship them back. Cost to ship will be close to or just over half the cost of the lights themselves, and have to pay electrician to remove and reinstall new lights. Have offered to send video of illumination delay issue as well of pictures of the products themselves to no avail. They know most will simply give up because they don't even guarantee replacement ie. they say they need to check that it is their product (what? my online order details says CANARM!!!!) and that it is in fact defective (uh...offered to send pictures and video!!!) There are sooooo many companies that have MUCH better customer service than this. Obviously their focus is on sales and not customer service, the policy for which is obviously designed to prevent as many returns as possible. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STAY AWAY FROM CANARM PRODUCTS!!!!
