EXCEPTIONAL, from the initial phone inquiry answers, through the actual work and finishing with very precise e-mailed payment instructions!! Very easy to talk to, excellent scope of the job assessment and quoting, plus appointment confirmation via e-mail. Electrician phoned to confirm details, showed up on time, explained what he was doing while doing it, finished in the allotted time-frame, cleaned up after himself and offered to help me move the furniture back. Due to computer glitches, I was unable to pay on the spot, so the next day I received e-mail with very easy-to-understand (3 types) payment instructions. Despite a calendar filled with scheduled work, Adam Wicks was able to arrange an electrician within 48 hours, Jonathan. He arrived exactly when he said he would, was courteous, and he got right down to work. The safety issues were addressed, including bringing multiple wiring concerns up to code, and he didn't dawdle at all. After the job was complete, he cleaned up after himself, a very nice touch. Adam checked in within the hour to see how the job had gone. On top of all that, prices are in line with industry standards. I recommend this service highly and would certainly use them again!

Wicks have just completed a full scale electrical installation at our store. This was a large job requiring not only technical competence but also care and attention to detail. After pre-wire the site quickly became a place where things could easily get damaged if one did not pay attention. I am happy to report that the Wicks team did not damage a thing. As for technical competence, they passed all inspections on the first call. We threw a lot of curve balls at Adam and his team with design and scheduling changes but they didn't skip a beat. Everything was done on time and at exactly the price quoted. I am particularly grateful at how well they handled what we call "emergencies," really just oversights on our part that needed quick attention. All it took was a phone call and the guys were on site. I have been on many renovation/build projects and have worked with many electricians. I will easily place Wicks at the very top of the pack. On top of all that, they a really nice bunch of guys. This is the second time we have used Wicks and are we glad we did! Starting from the first person who answered the phone (Ryan), to Cathy who called back to take my information to schedule the electrician and to the electrician himself (I asked my husband to get his name, but...) who knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Also, without naming the other company, we were given a quote for the same amount of work for $705! Wicks did it for more than $450 cheaper! Thank you very much to the team at Wicks! Do not change a thing, unless it is for the better, but really, how can it get much better than Wicks already is?

We contacted Wicks Electric to fix a total hack job of electrical work we had done in our barber shop last year during a nightmare of a renovation. They were professional, quick and reasonably priced. Being a barber shop, good lighting is one of the most important things you need and Wicks absolutely nailed it. All of our barbers are blown away with the improvement in lighting. I know Adam from when we went to high school together. I have him on Facebook, which is how I was aware that he now has his own company. The problems at my place started with a few of the kitchen plugs shorting out. Shortly after (and in a massive domino effect) we lost central heat, the washer and dryer, the oven and stove, hot water, and almost all of the electricity started giving out. It felt like we were sent back to our childhood in the Philippines when we were using a gas camping burner to cook and boil water for our baths. Promptly after speaking with Adam, we arranged for one of his Journeyman Colton to meet me at my home after I was off work. Colton showed up even earlier than planned and immediately set out in finding the problem. It turns out the kitchen plugs that initially gave out were back feeding half of the current back to the breaker, causing it to short out and not being able to produce enough power to use all of our appliances. He pointed out that one of the kitchen plugs was wired so incorrectly that it was actually very dangerous to use. He then took extra care to make sure all of the other outlets in the house were safe for my family and I. Colton fixed everything, and I do mean everything in what seemed like almost no time at all. He was very friendly and personable, knowledgeable and informative. Needless to say, I would highly recommend Wicks Electric Inc. to anyone and everyone for their amazing customer service, and of course, their high level quality of work. Thank you, and God bless.

Simply the best customer service for a trade business. We had a property that needed a small job. We called Adam from Wicks Electric and he stated he was fully booked. But what surprised me is he said he will do his best and get back to us asap. This property was for a VIP client that needed to be done asap. We had such a great experience with Eli from Wicks Electric. He came to install an LED pendant with a dimmer. After he left we noticed a buzzing sound coming from the light. He came back and tried different dimmers but the sound was still there because we were missing a neutral wire. He came back a few days later with the dimmer recommended by the light manufacturer and pulled the neutral wire from a close-by socket. He was so friendly and professional. He even fixed the tv cable and replaced other light switches. He left the place as clean as it was when he got there. We love our new light and dimmer. We are so happy. We had Wicks Electric to come to our home recently to test our electrical system. We didn't have any major problems but a few sockets and switches to check. We've lived here for 20 years and wondered if we were up to current code. Our previous electrician had installed a few plain electrical outlets near water outlets, without a GFI switch a few years ago. We hadn't noticed the receptacle was close to water, until Adam came for the electrical inspection and offered to upgrade the GFI switches for us. My wife and I found him polite, informative and a pleasure to deal with. Once he got started we wanted to check everything electrical to ensure our home was safe. These guys are amazing. I emailed them late one afternoon, got an immediate reply with a service call offered for the next day. Some companies will quote you an hourly rate and then work slowly. Not these guys, the tech showed up right on time and worked super fast. He even figured out how to do a connection to a vent with the available metal piping rather than buying plastic flexible ones. He finished before the 2 hours, and helped me clean and even take care of a couple of other minor electrical problems. Look no further, these are the guys to call.

I hired Adam and his company to add pot lights to our condo in Vancouver, and this has made a big difference to the appeal of the apartment, which we are trying to sell. Adam's crew worked well, having to coordinate with the tenants. We had a hiccup along the way when we found out that the cutout in the ceiling would have to be replaced, taped, mudded by another company, (this may be common knowledge if you have had this type of work done before, but it was news to us). Anyway, Adam very quickly rectified the situation and also set us up with a drywaller / painter to do the repair. Things like that happen, but you don't always have a business owner who is so responsive to find solutions, and who also does great work.

The electrical work during the renovation went very well, including the correction of some unseen problems by the contractor. In short, my impression of Wicks Electric was extremely positive from the outset, and remained so from start to finish. Every member of the Wicks team, Rebecca and Maggie who fielded my phone calls, Adam who quoted and booked the job, Tyler who completed the job, and Cathy who handled the accounting provided totally professional service every step of the way. Here’s the whole story: As executor of my Dad’s estate, I inherited the task of selling Dad’s home. Following an offer to purchase, the buyer’s home inspector discovered that a 40 amp breaker in the electric panel was improperly wired. The closing date was only three weeks away and I needed a reliable electrician in a hurry. I turned to Yelp and Google for advice. Both review sites highly recommended Wicks Electric. I contacted Adam and learned that the company was fully booked for the next two weeks. I explained my dilemma, and Adam managed to squeeze me in ten days later. At 8:05 am, Tyler called to advise he was stuck in traffic (normal for the North Shore) and would arrive within ten minutes. Five minutes later, he was at the door. Twenty minutes later he had diagnosed the situation (The central air conditioning unit had been incorrectly installed 20 years earlier, and presented a serious fire hazard! A 40 amp breaker was servicing a 35 amp air conditioner, using only 30 amp cable.) Tyler advised that the heavy wiring to the A/C had to be replaced and they don’t stock cable that heavy on the truck. He would need to visit their supplier 25 minutes away. The total job would be 4 hours. True to his word, Tyler was back in 45 minutes with the cable. Four hours later the job was complete, and Tyler had e-mailed me an invoice from his smart phone. Later that day, I paid the bill via e-transfer, and received a follow-up e-mail from Cathy, with the invoice marked “paid” attached. To say I was relieved is an understatement. And I learned a valuable lesson, when buying a home, always insist on a home inspection.

Door bell setup replaced second visit. Very minor snag was that he didn't have enough parts to replace the upstairs bell and so the old one dings but doesn't dong. I plan to buy one at Home Depot and replace it myself.

It is hard to articulate the feeling I had in my gut at about the 5-minute mark of the job Wicks did for me today. Probably “Whew!” describes it best. I knew things would go well. Through new home builds, basement developments, renos and refreshes over the years, I’ve learned that the “norm” seems to be mediocre work at best, delivered through a service model that doesn’t pay the respect due to the customer, who has contracted the work and is paying the bill. Wicks Electric is not the norm. My experience today was exceptional – exceptional quality and exceptional service. The electrician who did the work was personable, polite, accommodating and, importantly, respectful of me and my expectations. I understood from him that Adam, the owner, drills that level of service and quality into all of his employees. Based on the 4 people from Wicks I’ve interacted with, it shows.
