Kyle from KATO did a fantastic job on two projects at our house. One was installing new ceiling lighting in the laundry area and his idea to solve the problem was perfect. The second project was more complicated - installing LED lighting inside a cabinet to illuminate 5 stained glass window panels. He had to cut through a wall and closet to relocate the plug and a switch and he devised a layout within the cabinet so it is clean, bright and easy to work. We will have years of enjoyment from this cabinet. I highly recommend KATO. The office staff are friendly and get back to you quickly. Easy online payment, too. Great company!

I wanted to swap switches and thermostat in my apartment to ones that integrate with Alexa. I went with Kato Electrical as it had really good Google reviews. Reviews were right: - free cost estimation, - adjusting price so that it's competitive in Vancouver area, - good communication, - adapting to last minute schedule changes, - fast installation. I'd gladly use Kato's services again. Kyle has overcome all issues - some switches didn't fit because of too small box and despite that he managed to install everything as planned leaving both wall and switches in perfect condition. The only bad side is no cleanup after replacing switches, but this one is on me. On the last minute I asked Kyle to come 30 minutes later and we agreed to skip cleanup, to not break schedule with next customers on that day.

All breaker in my condo tripped at once when i accidentally crossed wires replacing a faulty outlet. I wasn't sure what was wrong so I called them up. They talked me through it and the operator determined the short cause not only my main breaker to trip but also the meter outside my unit and that they wouldn't need to come over since the building manager can flip it on. They were 100% correct and I appreciate that they were honest instead of making an easy buck. I'll stick to these guys.

Overall, I was pleased. The reason I gave 4 stars is because once the light fixture was already installed and the 2 electricians were leaving, I noticed a nickel ring outside the suite by the door. I inquired as to why this decorative ring was taken outside and left outside as it was part of the light fixture. There was no explanation but one of the electricians agreed to return to the suite and reattached the ring to the light fixture.

Julian, our electrician (note I said “OUR electrician” as we want him in the future) was on time and ready to go to work. A charming man, who was great at his job. Instead of just repairing the outlets and switches he discovered a mistake that out condo electrician s were supposed to “pigtail” the aluminum wiring with copper. The job required some things that were not included in the retrofit. He fixed it up and went on his way. He was so quick and competent that were thrilled to have our lights switchable again!!!
