I recently completed the AZ/flatbed training course here at Northstar truck driving school. And my experience was great. The instructors are very friendly, understanding, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this school to anybody looking to get their AZ or DZ. They have competitive pricing and they always put the student first to make sure you're more than prepared for your road test. They have a wide range of equipment giving you more real life experience rather than just jumping into the same truck everyday. All in all I have 0 complaints about my time spent at Northstar.

Waste of money for the DZ course instructure rushed through the material I learned very little. The book they gave me was not up to date with what they were teaching. Very frustrated with how I was treated.

Best Truck Driving School in the city by far! As a young mom with 2 babies under 2, I thought getting my DZ would be a tough and intimidating process but the staff at North Star made it an amazing experience. From the first call I placed to inquire all the way to test day, Liz in the front office was kind, helpful and so organized. Ray taught the air brake course, and I went from someone who had no knowledge of trucks to someone who could tell you exactly how to build an air brake system and how every part works after 2 days. My instructor Mike, was beyond fantastic and prepared me to pass my practical and road test first go around. He taught me how to be a good DZ driver, while making the material fun and instilling confidence. Marc was incredibly helpful in the preparation phase and on test day as well. I felt completely welcome the entire process and was met with so much camaraderie that I will actually miss my training sessions in the yard. All in all the staff at North Star Trucking school went above and beyond for me every single step of the way and I am so grateful for my experience. They are truly the best in the business and I would recommend them ten times over!

Mandating that students are vaccinated which is why I give 1 star. Go to a school that isn't doing this, ontario truck driving school, and TTC aren't. The woman who takes phone calls was easy to speak with and very helpful when getting everything prepared.

Hi folks I just finished my training at the Northstar truck driving school pass on the 1st attempt, Don, Mark, Liz, and Scuba were amazing and went out of their way for me to succeed, thank you folks, the best school in town you will not be disappointed.

Given I had no previous experience in the trucking industry, I chose the 8 week AZ course to ensure I received as much training as possible heading into a completely new industry. Everyday was a good experience for me throughout the 8 weeks. Sincere thanks to trainers Don, Mark and Scuba for imparting your knowledge and abilities with great patience and personal accountability for the development of each student throughout their course of choice. Can't imagine a school out there with instructors who take the students successful completion of their training as seriously as these guys. Also thanks to Ray for his teaching during the air brakes session of the course. I was always a bit intimidated by the size and weight of tractor trailers, but after Rays AZ course I had a good understanding of how it all works and it gave me confidence in my ability to be in control of the tractor trailer at all times. Was always at ease through the 8 weeks as the administrative abilities of Liz in the office ensured everyone is always well prepared for every phase in the process. Thank you Liz, your reaching out over the last couple years with a phone call here and there just to remind me of the courses available are the reason I never considered any other school. To sum things up for those considering Northstar, every opportunity will be given to you to succeed. You will get out of it what you put in. My personal experience as someone with zero previous experience is I showed up for 8 weeks of training, thankfully passed final ministry exam on a Monday, had a job interview on Tuesday, and since that Wednesday I've been running US open board, long haul flatbed with a trainer, which is what I was hoping for. 4 out of 5. Once again nobody is perfect. When I called this school I was professionally welcomed by Liz who answered all my questions without any delay. Liz had also made it clear to me that they're school also offers 2nd road test at no charge to their students, just need to pay the $100 drive test fee. Liz also explained to me the importance of their students and how they want them to succeed, and that they want their students to succeed on 1st try but they know students get nervous which can cause a fail so by letting them know their failure won't cost more than $100 puts them at ease. Of course we all hate to fail but at least students won't go broke when going for second try like other schools. During the whole conversation I felt welcomed and at ease. This school is also one of the cheaper schools in Windsor Ont, by at least $1000 to which is another bonus especially during these times.This school is another great choice but of course I can't make that decision for you as it's your money. Don't hesitate to make that phone call to see for yourself.

My experience at North Star was great. all the instructors were amazing in dealing with working my schooling around my work schedule, thank you for all A very nice team especially Maike was my instructor on the road an experienced and professional person. He is very knowledgeable and I can't thank him enough for his hard work and dedication in training me to obtain my AZ license. I would thank Liz work hard to get all the paperwork done she is the best Eddy encourages the students to study as much as possible to pass all the tests online and gave support to all I would thank Mark, Wayne, Scuba and there are more instructors, and from what I have seen they all do the best they can for the student. I would recommend North Star to anybody interested in trucking.

Just completed my 8 week AZ truck driving course at Northstar. I was fortunate enough to pass my road test the first time around. This was possible because of the dedication, knowledge, and years of experience provided from the best instructors in the city of Windsor. I enjoyed going to school everyday under the guidance of Don, Mark, Scuba, and Mike. Thank you so much guys. The information you have taught and passed onto me will last a lifetime and I will take with me on the road. So thank you guys for your hard work and teaching us the skills needed to become a successful truck driver as well keeping ourselves and the motorists that we share the road with safe. Also a special thanks to Liz in the office for your guidance throughout the program. You made us all feel at home. Ray does an excellent job of the weekend air brake course and made it so easy to understand. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Liz I was put at ease during one of the biggest steps I've taken in 22yrs. These people not only made me comfortable right from the start but it remained that way throughout. I had never driven a truck before in my life, but before i knew it there I was driving one like I actually knew what I was doing!! The time they take to teach and coach makes a world of difference. I actually had the privilege of having Bob Labute, (the owner of this fine company) see me all the way through the course from start to finish as my in truck instructor and when I say privilege I mean it, as that man has a plethora of knowledge to pass on to his students. As do his other employees. Bob, Terry and Liz made this Northstar student feel like family, and I still do. Northstar Trucking School went above and beyond their call of duty, to help me pass my AZ Licence, by helping me to train literally day and night with Professionalism, Leadership, encouragement and more. I trained with Local Trucker Legends-turned-trainers, Scuba, Mike, Wayne and Mark, who all taught me life saving skills and professional technical skills when operating a Truck with Semi-Trailer. Manager Ray and Course Co-Ordinator Liz both looked after me like family. They are all legends working here. They did more for me than just provide me a job. They saw my potential and lead me to a lifelong career, and I got to meet exceptional people along the way during my AZ MELT course. They exceeded my expectations of what they did for me. I will always have this School and experience in my good graces. Had some really fun times and good laughs with the people at Northstar. A big thank you to everybody at Northstar, and the Robinson's Transport Group for helping me. I am so so happy I got to study with Northstar Trucking School.
