I want to become a police officer, but had never operated a firearm, or even felt comfortable being around them. I attended both restricted and non restricted courses, and by the end of it I felt comfortable, safe, and was looking up best places to purchase my own firearm. Al is incredibly knowledgeable, and right to the point. We didn’t go off topic, and his patience dealing with all types of people; most who had never been around firearms before was admirable. Most importantly I had a lot of fun. He keeps you interested in the material, and comfortable with the testing portions as well. I LOVED these courses and recommend anyone attend his classes.

Al is a great instructor gauging whether the class is understanding information and takes time to make sure everyone is engaged and learning. Every thing was cleaned properly and hands had to be disinfected when handling firearms. it seems like alot of information and it is but Al does a great job going over important information and putting it into your head so its like second nature. Some of the firearms used were a bit sticky, although it was out of the instructor Al's control as he did his absoute best to communicate the care required. PSA -New learners, please do not abuse the practice firearms or amunition. It may make it difficult for future learners and always listen to the instructor for care instructions.

Al was a fantastic training instructor for the restricted and non restricted firearms safety course. He taught the class everything we need to know about firearms and the best safety practices. We also got a lot of hands on learning to help with learning the safety practices on many different firearms. He also had great social distancing practices for the classroom due to Covid. He has been great as well with walking everyone through the steps to applying for the PAL. It also did not feel like just another class, it felt more as one on one learning with the help and communication he offers everyone. Would Definitely recommend taking this safety course if you are wanting to get your firearms license. Thanks for the course Al, and thank you for all your help.

I took this course because my old licence had expired before I realized too late that I couldn't renew it. After I enrolled, I ordered the course manual and did the required assignment while reading the course material. What was so great for me was the instruction from Al. He is a true professional! His instruction and attention to detail along with his ability to make people feel at ease, while still delivering precise knowledge was what stood out for me. I completed the course and breezed through the exams with a feeling of confidence I didn't think would happen. I will be doing the Restricted firearms course soon. I completed a 2 day course for non-restricted and restricted firearms this past weekend with my mom and cousin and we all really enjoyed the experience. Al was funny, knowledgeable, professional and very patient. With hands on learning and active participation, everyone is set up for success. An optional student assignment is provided in advance to help prepare yourself for what to expect to review in class. I would highly recommend considering Niagara Training Academy if you’re looking to obtain a PAL.

What a great experience. I had very little experience or understanding and handling firearms. Both the courses we very thorough, professionally delivered and I felt safe the entire time. If you’re looking for an instructor who is passionate about seeing his students succeed, Al is your guy. I came into the course having no experience handling firearms and I left the course feeling confident and excited to purchase my first firearm. Al is extremely patient with his students. He made sure during the practical portion students are always following ACTS & PROVE while also teaching them the fundamentals of the gun and ammunition in front of them. Al always made sure we felt confident about handling the firearms before moving on to the next module. Extra time was always given when available. For the classroom portion, Al kept everyone focused by twisting a fun aspect on some of the dry material. He also kept it interactive by asking questions during each module and emphasizing important information. He made sure everyone was well prepared before heading into the exam.
