Where do I start? From the award winning staff to the amazing instructors I would recommend this company to anyone in need of driver training. James and Roger were my instructors and coming into it I hadn't a clue how to drive a standard, let alone a semi- tractor and trailer. Had a great experience here at Gennaro. I did the Class 1 MELT program here. The front desk staff works hard to accommodate your schedule and always has encouraging words after every lesson. After spending some time at a local firehall and chatting with the rookie he told me about Genaro. He said he went from never driving a semi to passing his class 3 no issues. Mind you this was with only 8 hours of instruction. As you can imagine this peaked my interest. So I went ahead and called and made arrangements the following Saturday to get started with air brakes. Only a few days after I was seated in the cab of semi, something I never thought I'd do. I had an instructor named Don, great guy, says it how it is and knows his stuff. By the end of my 8 hours I was ready to tackle the test. Spoiler alert I passed. If you're considering getting a commerical truck license this is the place to go. Very organized, professional and really just make you feel like part of the family.

This is an amazing school Barb and Sabrina and all the staff are amazing, rollie was my instructor, but i was not able to understand the 90 parallel and had a hard time and got james for a couple lessons and that made a huge difference, all the instructors are great but we all learn in a different way so you just have to know what works and if you feel like your not understanding make sure you talk to the front staff they are understanding and wonderful people. I'm really glad i went to this school , i had 0 experience before i went to this school i never even been inside a truck before and they taught me how to drive like a pro, and i just passed and got my class 1!! Thanks to everyone at the school.

Great instructors and staff. Wish the logistics for backing up in the yard had stayed the way they were before government made them change it, made the yard more congested than needed to be, but it did open up an option for drivers side 90 degree back up. I believe the M.E.L.T program ( classroom portion ) should be printed out and offered in a coiled book, this gives trainees easier access to information. Looks like the improvement of the M.E.L.T class 1 lays with the board of directors for this program....Gennaro and their staff did an absolutely amazing job!!!! EDIT.. After reading some reviews that were negative I believe some had some good constrictive criticism, but if you fail your knowledge test it's a problem with you. They gave you links to study and a whole week in class and the knowledge test is basically common sense. Don't blame the flower for spoiled honey, blame the bee. I had taken my Class 2 MELT course with a different driving school and was not satisfied or pleased with my instructor or overall experience. I believe this led me to be unequipped to do the road test which I ultimately failed. So I came over to Gennaro for some extra hours with one of their instructors, Roger, and he was great. He was patient, calm and had all the answers to the questions I had. The next day I had my second road test scheduled and I passed! I would definitely recommend Gennaro to anyone wanting to get their Class 2 license. I have also taken my air brakes course with them and had an equally satisfied experience.

I took my Class 1 MELT and Air Brakes training with Gennaro Transport Training and passed on my first try. The entire staff was incredibly supportive from the beginning to the end of the training process. Barb was very efficient and considerate with the paperwork and scheduling. James, my instructor, was very thorough and patient in his teaching. He was specific with all the technical aspects of driving, inspection, and parking as well as able to provide helpful tips for the road test. The process took about two and a half months and was not the cheapest available, but worth every penny. Thank you, Gennaro team!

Poor instructing to say the least. You're better off investing in someone who will accurately take the time to show you everything instead of making you feel uncomfortable to the point were you don't wanna be in the truck anymore. I feel like I wasted my time and dollars learning nothing with someone who had 25+years experience. Another thing before I left the staff at the front didn't give me any confidence when I was leaving..They pretty much made me feel like I was an idiot. So for my advice to anyone who want's to invest there time in a trucking school do your research and consider other places before picking this one.

This is the best place to train for your class 1 in Alberta. The instructors are very knowledgeable & friendly. Front staff easy to work with. I did my air brakes and class 3 with Gennaro and had Dennis for both. He was an extremely poor instructor and I felt did not give me the information necessary to succeed or pass, as well as dragging out the training for no reason. I requested a new instructor and got James. I could not have asked for more. He was absolutely amazing and had a straight up teaching style that was perfect. I cannot say enough good about him as an instructor. The difference between these two is why I give a 3. In the end Dennis cost me a ton of money for unnecessary lessons, but I only passed due to James' expertise.

The front office staff was wonderful to deal with and they scheduled the training around my busy schedule with no issues. The instructors are fantastic. I got my class 1 yesterday. I was very happy with Gennaro the way they facilitated my training according to my availability and also for my road test. In addition, the assessment of my instructor on how many hours of training I needed before the road test was accurate. I passed the road test with no point on the pre-trip instruction and only 10 points for the driving itself. Thank you Gennaro, especially to my instructor Mr. Rob and the clerks.

The office staff were so positive and informative and you can tell they just want to see you get your license. They were so flexible with my work schedule. I would like to give a huge thanks to all personal at Gennaro Transport, from the team of receptionist to the drivers trainer for all their amazing work and supports they gave me. I came to this place nervous, anxious about how I could drive a 75 feet long trailer with 18 speed tractor, when I personally never driven a small manual transmission car. With the instructions of professor DJ, I became so good and confident with single clutch shifting, he is an expert to teach how to easily shift gears. With professor Roger, I gained a lot knowledge on professional driving awareness and safety rules, this guy will make sure that if you fallow his instructions properly, you will never fail in a road driving test, or getting pulled by police for infractions. You will definitely keep a clear driver abstract. The best school in city, second to none! I highly definitely recommend Gennaro transport for your driver training courses!

Friendly staff but lots of the information that they push you to remember is not on the test, and info not mentioned was on it. After the course I went to take knowledge test and showed up completely unprepared, if you have experience with air brakes,the one day rush might be good if not I'd recommend finding a 2 day course or read the book on your own after the class.
