I have been taking driving lessons from Majed for several years. He is always on time, polite, and his advice has kept me from having a single accident. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to drive so well to assist my parents. As a driving instructor, Majed is amazing and I recommend him to anyone who is looking to improve their driving skills.

Easily one of the worst schools in Ottawa. Their instructors range from guys just interested in talking about themselves for your entire session and being your buddy as opposed to teaching (with wildly inappropriate stories on top of that), to drill instructors who take joy in swearing at or denigrating their paying clients. This is on top of the unhelpful, downright inaccurate info I've been given over my time with them. You can blame your reviewers for 'not speaking up', but guess what: people aren't paying to argue with their instructors. They'd rather go somewhere else. The onus is on the instructors for understanding how to behave professionally, or you know, at least not swear at new drivers that are already uncomfortable behind the wheel.

Worst planning of driving classes. So unprofessional. Spend little More and go to good school. The car instructor ask to meet at one point which is about 12km from my home and when we are about to leave, he canceled the appointment. Once the appointment to meet was at 6pm and he called at 1pm to come at 2pm. I do not recommend this.

Your experience with this business will mostly depend on the instructor you are assigned. Read through the reviews, identify and demand one of the highly recommended instructors. I was assigned Aswan the first time, and I had the most horrible driving experience. I mentioned this to the school in an email and was assigned Fokrul Mohamed, who was just amazing. He was calm, patient, and most importantly, reinforced my good driving habits and gently brought out where there was scope for improvement. I will highly recommend Fokrul Mohamed for his calm personality, especially for experienced adult learners such as newcomers to Canada. 5 stars for Mohamed, but rating this school a 3 star for assigning me a horrible instructor the first time, inspite of complaints against her as seen in other reviews.

I am going to have to heavily disagree with some of the previous commenters and say I actually had a great experience with this school, particularly the driving instructor Aswan. She does get passionate during the classes and will tell you loud and clear when you screw up, if you took that offensively or personally that is your problem and maybe she isn't right for you. I actually found her extremely helpful and got over any common mistakes I had immediately. I also found her to be very professional, she was always on time, if not early, to pick me up, even though I was somewhat out of the way from the usual practice area, was honest when it came time to the amount of classes she thought I needed, and instead of just telling me to take more so she could make more, was honest in admitting she didn't think I needed more. I also can't get over her parallel parking technique. As someone who learned how to drive in another country and was taught a completely different and more complicated way, I was mind-blown how easy it could be with the right instructor. So many hours of practicing that was understood in just a try with her. What I thought was going to be an extremely difficult and nerve wracking G exam turned out to be a piece of cake and would highly recommend anyone to take her classes. Be that new drivers or immigrants who need to retake the exam in order to get the Ontario license.

I wish there could be negative marking. School assigned Mr. H. instructor to me for pretest 1 hour refresh for $ 50 and or $135 for 1 hour pretest refresh plus rental for my G test. I did discuss and agreed with Mr H. Instructor to have only 1 hour pretest refresh and incase rental require, I will inform him at center. He was very supportive and energetic to this approach at the time of booking. Same I and he did reconfirm 24 hours before test. But unprofessional and extremely bad service started just before few hours of test. instructor H. Send me message at 9pm to meet 10am for my road test at 12noon next day. I reminded him that i am coming from Pickering and as agreed earlier will meet at 10.45am and will have 1 hour practice. He said no, he will only come for minimum 2 hours or 1 hour practice + rental otherwise he is busy. He will charge more also then what was agreed. I shared all messages print screen with him what we discussed and agreed. But unprofessional... He wanted to make more money and knew that at last minute i can't find any other option. Completely unprofessional, disrespectful.. I would never ever suggest to go such people.. I end up canceling his service and went without any pretest practice and got G license.. School should work to improve their instructors professionalism...

Aswan is a fantastic instructor! She's friendly, patient, and professional. I would recommend her as a Driving Test Evaluator, and Driving Instructor for new drivers. She's a perfectionist. So she's not afraid to let you know when you're wrong, and when you do well she will praise your driving skills ???? I am so grateful the Ottawa Driving School gave me Aswan's number so I could book my Driving Test Evaluation. I received her full attention/focus during our lesson. I want to thank and appreciate the driving instructor, Zaid, for his service. I took 5 lessons from him and I was able to clear my G2 exam on the first attempt. Zaid gave clear instructions and evaluation for my driving skills. He was very professional(unlike other driving school instructors who don't even answer their calls). Zaid was also flexible with my timings and planned his classes accordingly. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I am going to recommend Zaid to all my friends who will take lessons in future.

While my inclass experience was fine getting hours with an instructor has been a nightmare. I am working individual who is only avaiable on weekends or after working hours(i.e. after 6pm ) and since i signed up for the program 3 months i have only gotten 1 hour with an instructor. If you have similar availability as me i would suggest you consider my experience in making your choice with this school.

I had a horrible experience yesterday while taking driving lessons from one of your instructors, Aswan. Although I clearly mentioned I am a beginner, she yelled at me on several occasions. I mentioned to her during driving that I was feeling nervous; despite that, she screamed at me when I made a mistake. Behind the wheel is already a situation under pressure and with Aswan being so rude, it affected me mentally resulting in lack of confidence and fear. She is not fit to be an instructor with that temper and a complete lack of patience with novices. How can an instructor expect the student to not make mistakes? I will suggest to stay away. I lost my driving confidence because of this.

I want to begin with my driving instructor, his name was Alain and he was absolutely amazing, I had my G2 in 4 days and during those 4 days Alain has been committed to teach me and help me! Everything I learned from Alain was useful and very helpful, he taught me everything I need to know for my G2 and everything I had to do during the exam, Alain has taught me. He is extremely friendly, he’s nice, most importantly he’s an excellent driver and knows what he’s talking about. And he is super concerned with the driver (me) as he’s shown that he wants to see me succeed more than he wants to see his pay check. Money is not a problem for him, he just wants you to succeed. Not only that but he lives far from me and he still drove all the way just to help me as soon as I called him, this shows how committed he is. I would strongly suggest Alain to ANYONE who wants to pass the G2 or G and with someone as nice as him. Thank you very much Alain

The driving school is not bad, The teacher is nice. you would be getting the right amount of service for a low price around 630 for a course.I would say don't put high expectations if you're coming to this school tho. most of the information given is general yet neccessary which is pretty good if you're a beginner or just want to get the certificate so you can get a discount on your insurance. after all ( In class experience was not bad at all ) the driving instructor that they offered me was not the best though, if you're going there and they're giving you a driving instructor named muhammed then i suggest u know the following... very dirty car, doesn't have teaching skills, busy on the phone most of the time.

I had a good time learning how to drive with Jack and then later on Zhargon. These two instructors were patient and knew how to relay driving instructions to me as a beginner. I recommend them both, especially Zhargon as he helped me pass my G2 with just one attempt, and the driving school.

I took driving lessons here years ago, and I found the lessons to be very helpful. I know Ray, the owner, personally and he is a very kind and personable man. He is also very passionate about driving and has an amazing amount of knowledge and experience in the industry. When I finished my course and took my exam I passed on the first try. I was shown tricks that I still use to this day and they work every time. If you want your drivers licence, I recommend that you go to Ottawa Driving School.

IF you want to pass and pass perfectly definitely I recommend going with Al Mustafa. I used to be a very reckless and less aware driver but he made sure in 6 lessons I was a perfect driver to pass my G2 :)

Great program! The in-class segment was really well done and structured, my teacher was really awesome and nice! The in driving lessons are very informative and really shows you how you should be driving. My instructor Mustafa is really nice and knowledgeable, he has a very calming teaching style and makes sure that you're not stressed or nervous. His approach to teaching makes sure you understand everything perfectly and feel really ready to drive by yourself! 5 out of 5 would recommend!

This driving school was very unprofessional. First I was assigned an instructor who was outside of my area and had to request another one. Then when I received an instructor, I was asked to reschedule lessons multiple times. The instructor also took a phone call during one of the lessons and his directions were often confusing and sometimes incorrect. The staff who coordinated payments with me were friendly and efficient, but the rest of my experience was mostly awful.

Before purchasing the course, sweet lady patiently listened to my preferences about having female instructor and how urgent I need to get driving test. She promised that I will be able to get female instructor and if there are no available in my area they will sent me from another area to mine with no charge. I was very pleased and I have purchased the course. However, now for several weeks I am not getting ANY cooperation at all. They do not keep their promises. I have told them all my struggles and difficulties I’m facing and how urgent I need to get all done, yet they refuse to help. The service is terrible. Still trying to get help. Unfortunately, I was left to write a review. Hope to get help from this.

My instructor frequently finished my paid for lessons 15-20 minutes early. I was so uncomfortable I never said anything because I couldn't believe it, this constantly happened. He also took phone calls DURING the lessons I paid for, not quick phone calls, 10-15 minute very loud distracting phone calls as he booked other people in for their lessons. He wouldn't let me take hour long lessons and told me that I "had to take" 2 hour long paid lessons because he said "it wouldn't be worth it". Odd considering he finished 15-20 minutes early so frequently. I highly DO NOT recommend. What a rip off.

Drivers are completely unavailable in Kanata. Could not book until 2 months after the course was taken. That was AFTER contacting their head office THREE times. Poor communication between teachers and students and no communication between teachers and head office.

Took the 10 hours of private driving lessons and the one hour warm up before my G2 road test and passed first try. Husham was my instructor, he was very professional and knows the rules of the road very well. I recommend Ottawa Driving School for anyone who wants to learn how to drive!

Watched the instructor driving 90 in the 60 zone then at the next set of lights, he got impatient, turned right did a uturn and pulled right to get around a red light on Riverside Dr this morning. This instructor with a license plate of CPNX126 Blue Toyota Carolla is supposed to be teaching young drivers the rules? Although the company is stating below that none of their instructors drive a Blue Toyota Corolla, I took pictures of the vehicle with the sign on the roof.

I highly recommend Ottawa driving school!! They teach you everything you need to know with in 3 classes. My in car instructor was JOSEPH. I very much recommend trying to get him to teach you how to drive. He’s funny, really nice and Genuine and will make sure you get your driving to perfection. I have used Ottawa Driving school for both of my daughters. The convenient location of the Kanata classroom and the online classes worked well for both girls. The registration was quick and easy. 'Jack' has been an amazing instructor. He was always kind, courteous and accommodating when arranging the lessons. He was a great in-car instructor and helped the girls get the confidence they needed to become responsible drivers. I would highly recommend booking him when it's also time for the in-car driver's test. Why? The kids can use the same car they were trained in, and it was stress-free the day of the test because he was there to explain the process so there was less anxiety about taking the test. I was also a driving examiner for drivetest for eight years .When it came time to retire from drivetest I wanted to get working as a instructor again ,having a choice of all the driving schools in ottawa to work with I chose OTTAWA DRIVING SCHOOl because of the Quality of students it produces and the hands on ownership of the school. As a former examiner I know that the majority of the students do very well on there driving tests ( 90% pass rate ) I highy recommend this school to anyone...

The education course was not very helpful, the instructor who happened to be the manager of the whole driving school spoke about his life rather than teaching the rules and regulations behind driving. Whenever we'd come close to learning about driving all he would show us were driving videos you could find on youtube. 80% of class was based on his life stories, I know more about his life than I do about driving. He also made uncomfortable sexual comments and would make me and the only other female in the class extremely uncomfortable. When it came to the driving portion of my BDE course, my instructor Aswan was extremely unprofessional. She would always scream at me and hurt me twice when she'd aggressively take the wheel while I was driving. She barely spent time teaching me how to park and the ins and outs of how to use a vehicle. She made me cry twice because of how she'd treat me, sometimes mimicking me and yelling at me because she kept forgetting I was a g1 student training for my g2 instead of training for my G. She would always taunt me and question me and would admit its because she had a long day. She would forget when we would schedule appointments and blame it on me for making the dates up, she also slept in once and forgot to show up. I passed and got my G2 but that's because I did a lot of self-teaching and relied on a parent to take me around. I wouldn't say avoid this driving school but definitely avoid my instructor. The teacher, I won't name him because he is a genuine guy, but he's on the verge of retirement and it shows in his teaching methods, he is not fit to teach a class and its not his main position, he just subbed in for someone who went on vacation last minute. I think it would be a good school just not a great experience I had.

I would not recommend this place. Instructors are the typical middle eastern individuals, they failed me in my in house test where I learned nothing because I crossed on a yellow, went to test for my g2 a couple days later and got nearly perfect. One of the instructors was also creeping on a teen who was also in my class. They ended up giving me proof of a certificate once I showed Up with my g2 and they said if the ministry deems I can drive then it is a pass on their part.

I had Jack Abo-Chakra as an instructor and passed my test on the first try. Definitely recommend recommend him. My test was at Walkey too so i super stressed about the rumours about instructors being strict. But the intructor Jack Abo-Chakra, made my practice sessions so valuable I passed on the first go! I have to agree with the review by a female student last week. After reading her review I was reminded of the same unpleasant experience with this well known driving school. The owner who was my in- class instructor was so unprofessional. I paid for and trusted that this driving school and its instructors would teach me to be a confident and safe driver BUT the complete opposite happened. I was a very nervous driver and trusted that this school will help alleviate and make me feel comfortable with driving but it did not. The in class instructor talked about his life and I totally understand how uncomfortable the other female felt. His comments about woman were always sexual comments and showed his lack of class and integrity and RESPECT !. I LEARNED NOTHING FROM THE IN CLASS. I think the same in car instructor did the same to me but I was fortunate in that I never made it into the car with her as she MISSED MY APPOINTMENTS AS WELL!. Other instructors yelled and spoke little ENGLISH.....not sure how they expect to teach if they are not proficient with the English language! THE Owner seems to think his school is the best but he needs a wake up call! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. Pity I have to give a 1 star would rather give no star!!!!!!!! D Naidoo

I have worked with two drivers from this school. Both times I mentioned that I have anxiety and need a more calm instructor. Both times they referred me to intense, high strung instructors who were not compatible with my needs. I would STRONGLY recommend not going to this school if you have anxiety.

My driving instructor was Zarghon. He was punctual for the lessons and corrected all my mistakes. He never allowed me as a student to feel dumb or anything of that sort. He encouraged me to keep practicing and not give up when I was struggling with a driving concept. If he ever had to cancel for some reason he always communicated it well and timely, and also always made up for it by compromising his schedule to fit me in so I can receive the training I needed. The experience felt so stress free and liberating knowing that I have an instructor that cares and wants to see each student succeed. Zarghon knew the laws of the road very well and informed me of them clearly. My test in very soon and I've never felt so prepared. I highly recommend contacting this company and requesting Zaid as your instructor. Zaid was always quick with communication and always tried to be flexible with our lessons together. I contacted him as a very nervous driver who had previously had two other driving instructors within the last 4 years that were not able to make me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I needed someone very attentive and patient to help with my anxiety and fear. He was extremely patient and kind. He also had so many pointers and tips to teach me that I had never been taught before. I quickly learned how to be comfortable behind the wheel after a few lessons together. He taught me how to parallel park in such a genius way that I am now teaching my friends how to who have been driving for over 5 + years. I was able to pass my G2 road test after 5 years (after acquiring my G1) of anxiety and not so good teaching methods from the previous instructors. I only got 10 hours in the car. The time I did get in the car, I was basically just driving without the person giving me any pointers or telling me if I was doing anything wrong. They were just trying to finish the given time and take advantage of the fact that I had to put up with them because I had already paid. For the amount of money I paid here I could of hired a personal driver and gotten more time in a car with someone that would actually show me everything I needed to know.

The School it self is pretty good, they have good class teachers and very nice rates. But they have contractual instructors, I was assigned Khetam Ja'fr - STAY AWAY from her, she flakes at the 11th hour by making the lamest excuse possible, never picks phone, never responds to texts. Leaves you hanging. The school was pretty quick to respond though, they assigned me another instructor - Majid - pretty decent guy and a good teacher. But because of that I lost my two weeks. Anyway, it ended well and I passed my test on the first attempt, so the 4 stars.

Highly recommending 'Adly Soliman' in Ottawa Driving School. He is a very honest person. I needed to cancel my scheduled session for G test (in the very last moment) and he was very nice and provided his honest opinion and didn't wanna take money from me (ofc, he could if he was dishonest). I went to this driving school to get over my anxiety of driving. The in class portion was very boring and stale, but that's typical of any driving school. Overall, Inam did a good job at conveying the material. My main issue was with the driving instructor I was given, Jack. On their website you will see lots of great testimonials which is why I chose him. I only had a good experience with him about 50% of the time. The other 50% he showed no patience at all and would be visibly and verbally frustrated. For example, on the first day of learning how to reverse park, he asked me why I couldnt park with common sense when the car would be too close to one side. (Being my first time, it was difficult to judge distances in mirrors). His parallel parking logic is also flawed and only works with 50% of cars, find your own reference points and you'll never mess up again.
