I had been contemplating obtaining my AZ for approximately one year and after researching many training schools I decided the best AZ training would be through the Ontario Truck Training Academy in Oshawa. I had a lot of anxiety about making a career change, but after meeting with OTTA owner Yvette, she made me feel at ease and that I would be successful, and I was. If you put in the time studying at home, you will be successful too. The instructors are great; highly qualified, and have vast experiences in the trucking industry. Everyone treated me with respect, patience, and provided unlimited encouragement. I want to thank instructor Dave L. for believing in me and for connecting with me on a personal level...thanks Dave!

Went to OTTA for the AZ licence course. I did the accelerated program and have absolutely nothing negative to say about this truck drivers training academy. All of the instructors are VERY well trained and all have many years of truck driving experience. They do an excellent job of demonstrating and then teaching and then encouraging each and every person that applies for their courses. I would like to personally thank Rob, Stacy, Derrick, Kelly and John for continuously talking me through this course. They all have different teaching methods and that is what made it perfect. Not too much of the same thing over and over. I will/would recommend OTTA to ANYONE who wants to do any kind of truck or bus licence. Bruce Whyte

This will be a long review •_• For a few months I was searching and going to different schools and transportation companies seeking for quality based, in-depth truck training schools. Including searching TTSAO approved and accredited schools, I was not able to find the right one. After so much homework and research, I had finally came across one of THE BEST truck training schools in the industry, Ontario Truck Training Academy. OTTA have the right equipment, resources, staff and more importantly, they have some of the most experienced instructors in trucking. A simple 5 star review and a comment is not enough for OTTA. The reason for that being is: They teach you not only to be prepared and to pass your road test, but also to give you reasons and stories behind every lesson. They give advice, ideas, and preparation for once you are on your job and what you could do if you come across any problems down the road. If you’re still not sure, they will be there for you whenever you need to make a call. OTTA staff, management, instructors, resources, and the right facility gave me that feeling of being 100% sure that I am in good hands as a student wanting to get into trucking. OTTA helped me find the right company to start with. I had never driven a manual transmission vehicle, and never believed I would drive one. With their simulator and help of Instructors at OTTA, I can now drive a manual truck, backup a truck, and be a safe and responsible driver. There’s so much more to say, but it’s already long enough. So I’ll just say thanks to each and every staff, management, and many appreciations to all the instructors for making trucking knowledge a habit.

Just did my CZ training with the academy and it was amazing. Highly recommended anyone thinking picking this school. They prepared me with everything i needed to know to pass my road test and air brake course. All the instructions knew the material and they went at my pace, explained everything and how the process works. If i was lost at any point they would slow it down and explain it till i understood. Dont go with a cheaper school because you'll miss out on alot of important information and probably wont pass the ministry testing.

Ladies & Gentlemen, re: Commercial Driver Training AZ - AR - BZ - CZ - DZ - Z Should you be following Schooling/Training/Upgrading up to Class D, or Class A (and/or Air Brake Endorsement-Z), I urge you to contact Yvette @ the OTTA-Oshawa (Head Office) to create your future path in the transportation / logistics sector. I had attended the full AZ program with huge success, having been Laid-Off a few months earlier from a warehouse in Mississauga, and completed the course 'As Stated, As Advertised on their website) Graduated - Class of 2016. 2x Job Offers within 4 days! (and hundreds to choose from) I highly recommend this location {Oshawa, ON} (and the other 3.. Brampton, ON -- Peterborough, ON - Lindsay, ON) for the highest quality, and therefore 'most employable' results. The Institution is top-notch. The highest level of Instructors {most with 20+ yrs), the most pieces of equipment {traditional, cabover, lowboys, weight added trailers etc), the most busses if you are going that route, and straight trucks. OTTA is also aligned with all the Provincial & National trucking organizations, Safety Organizations, Training Organizations etc. The website doesn't lie. Oh! and 2x sit-in Road Simulators (basic and advanced). That was fun. I had extreme hills & rough weather added to my lessons. Very professional, fully licenced and it's where the best company send their Drivers, when they need upgrades & re-training. Don't you want to be at THAT academy? If you are spending your money (or the government's money, or both), please get the best education for yourself, as you don't want to end up @ OTTA to do 'refresher/upgrade' classes because you chose poorly. My Physician said to me... "Oh, the OTTA... Yes, that's the Harvard-of-Truck Training, you are in very good hands" --- and he was right! Be the safest, most coordinated Driver out there, PLEASE. I'll keep this short, this is the best Truck Training school you can go to 100% guaranteed! As long as you respect and listen to the instructors advice and criticism you will pass. I passed my test the first time in a manual truck and it was one of the most fulfilling expirences I've had. I have a new respect for this industry because driving these massive vehicles is not easy! But with this academy behind you and personal drive you can do it!

Haven't signed up for the course but called to inquire. The gentleman who took my call was great, super helpful and insightful. Wasn't pushy and took his time to answer all my questions. So although I cant comment on their program itself they're friendly and helpful to speak with.

Amazing experience with these instructors , they work hard to make sure you understand everything you need to pass whatever test or license you are taking. I passed every exam on my first try and I give a lot of credit for that to the instructors for their expert level teaching. Highly recommend taking your training here.

Honestly not sure where to start, so I'll try my best to keep it short and sweet. If you want to be an actual professional driver, then don't waste your time and book your spot with Ontario Truck Training Academy, it's the best, they will take care of you, treat you like family and teach you the ins and outs of trucking. I have never driven a truck in my life but with them, I was able to understand the logic of shifting thanks to ERIC and I appreciate you bringing a pen and paper to explain how the shifting works. Terry< he will drill pre inspection and coupling/uncoupling so that no matter where you test, you'll be ready, much appreciate it man, you put that confidence in all the students weather it's yard or a drive. Dan < down to earth and willing to help you at anytime, backing was an issue for me, Dan was able to guide me through it by explaining the logic behind it, I appreciate it ???????? Mike

Top notch school for sure. Reputable trucking companies seem to line up for grads from this place. I made one call and I was hired....didn't have to try anywhere else. Passed my road test on the 10th, and was hired on the 13th. Yvette (Owner), knew what I wanted, and referred me to a perfect match. Friendly, knowledgeable and experienced instructors...the whole staff is great. THE go-to place for your AZ license in Central Ontario.

Took the AZ course June-July 2019 What can I say, excellent driving school. The overall approach was systematic and very organized. Learned alot in the in class sessions and even more hands on and on the road. They have many instructors so road lessons are one on one and I find that helps. If you’re thinking about getting into trucking and have no previous knowledge like I did, then this is the school for you. I had a rough first couple weeks but once I adjusted my attitude everything all came together and that wouldn’t have happened without the great instructors that work here. I’d like to thank Chris, Dan, Eric, Ginger, and Mike for giving me the skills and knowledge I needed to pass the road test and get my ACZ. Otta just wants your money. They dont care what happens to you after they have it. I went here and got my AZ. I had a flood in my basement destroying a large amount of my possessions including my paperwork from otta. When I called the school to get a copy of my records Sonia herself told me that any of those files are in a storage locker and she refuses to look for them even after I offered money. Then she suggested I give the school more money to retake the course. I dont need to learn how to pass a test again(all they teach you anyway) . So yes they'll take your money but after that they dont care about you

They seem nice on the phone but as soon as they have ur money that changes. my husband went to this school and graduated and needed a copy of the paperwork to prove he went to school and they refused that piece of paper is worth over 10,000$ and they wont give it to him. I think they want him to pay again for school. Do not give this company ur money!!!

The best truck training academy in Ontario!! I took A-Z course(from Jan to Mar 2019) and so many (only) good things about this training school. Administration: The office staff always care for students' success(pass the exams), not wanting them to come back after fail! They literally tried their best to help the students. All of them are kind and they listen to what students say. And the owner is super friendly! Facility and Program: The yard and the equipments are well maintained and their training schedules are flexible enough to meet everyone's needs and situations. The training program itself is very systematic, thorough, and step-by-step approached. The program focuses on what you have to know and it repeats until students master all the skills; knowledge and driving. Instructors: All of the instructors are very very experienced with so many years of industry and training experiences. All the instructors discuss and share students' progress everyday so they see a same page to know which area each individual student should focus on to improve the needed skills next time they teach. Among all the aspects, safety is their first priority, always! Overall, all of the team in the school are fully aware of what to do to make students to succeed. They treat each and every student equally and fairly. Thank you all and I'll never forget your kind and genuine helps and supports. All the good memories will be with me. It was so much fun to study there and I learnt a really lot about the industry.
