I went to get manicure and pedicure, i was looking for spa but no one explained that express manicure does not come with it . I was very dissatisfied. However i got black and gold gel paint. It went there on Tuesday and today is Friday . The paint is falling already And she applied thick coat. My nails skin hurts now . And the nail paint, she was applying it was finished she was struggling to apply the colour. I am not happy with service at all

Highly disappointed with the services and charges. They first book appointment on calls assure the service we want as we reach there their statements got change and the prices goes double. Would never recommend them ever. They messed my hairs and wasted my whole day.. I booked for smoothing but when i reach there they said even after smoothing you have to use the straightener so I switch to caramel highlights with haircut… Neither the highlights nor the haircut is looking good… the tutors walks here and there in attitude.totally unprofessional people. I wasted my money and time,i am really disappointed with them….

I had an awful experience here. I booked an appointment for a cut and colour for 10 am on a Saturday at least a week and a half before the appointments date. I then got a call asking if I could come in earlier a few days before my appointment because they over booked me and another customer. I couldn't so I told them I could not so they said "okay, your appointment will be at 10". Once I get there I am told they had pushed back my appointment back to 12 because the hairdresser that was going to do my hair called in sick and that they had called me earlier that morning but I didn't answer. They had called me at 8 am, a time where I was still asleep so when I did notice I had a miss call there was no caller ID so I didn't bother calling back. As I come back for my now 12 the student who was now about to do my hair was very nice. But the instructor said what I wanted (a cut and colour and or foils) was going to take too long for my time being there. When originally my appointment was for 10 am. I am not pleased at all with their organization. I do not suggest going to this place for anything more than a cut because they cant seem to coordinate enough time to do anything more than that.

went for the first time today to get a full head of foils which ive gotten done elsewhere before and usually takes up to 2 hours, today it took 4 and i didnt even have it styled. i understand its a school but 4 hours for highlights is crazy, ive gotten my hair done at a school before and wasnt nearly as long as it was today. probably wont return.

I had my eyebrows done by Britney. She was lovely, but my eyebrows were not done well, I am afraid. I (thought) I had very precisely told her how I like them shaped, but it took us a while to get there. Then she tried to send me home with only one brow being done. At the end, I smiled and left, and plucked them myself once I got home.

I had an amazing time at the HDC I walked in wanting Highlights and lowlights. My hair was so damaged from me dyeing my hair using Sally’s buety products. They didn’t lie and told me my hair would burn off and gave me a buetiful brown hair coulour and made my hair healthy. It was exstremly affordable. Staff where kind and helpful. Now my Hairs pretty and healthy

I visited this worst experienced HDC for highlight but unfortunately the instructor Chris was unable to highlight my hairs I think he needs to get trained first. ALso he needs to learn how to guide his students . I would not say anything to student who are learning. They are trying their best but this is something worst happened with my hairs and they charged so high. I will say do not visit this HDC again. 0/10 0% result . Totally disappointed with this man and his behavior on me after his poor work and carrying his *** attitude with him. He needs to go to school and learn how to talk with customers first. Even he didn't apologize . So guys u can understand wt students are learning their.????????????????????????????????????

I got gel nails done there and it took 4 hours and a half for her to do, im not complaining about the time as much as i am about the quality, she did an ok job, some nails looked different. After 2 days of getting them done i open a bottle of pop gently and one pops right off. I was charged $5 for a fix which i wasnt impressed with because the girl was in a rush to be off and it looked so different from the rest of the nails. Then the next day another one popped off. Overall i am not pleased with the quality but i understand these girls are just learning.

They messed my hair up so bad today that I had to go to the Headshoppe after and the only way to fix it was to cut it super short. I hate it. The lady at the Headshoppe was baffled that the teacher would let me leave looking like that. I was too upset to get them to fix it there which is why I went to the Headshoppe. I know they're students but the teachers should do a better check before letting clients leave like that... At least everyone was really nice...

Had my appointment today with Mitch at noon to get my hair thinned. First time ever going to the HDC but I had a remarkable experience today. The staff are all wonderful and very nice and Mitch did an excellent job washing my hair, thinning it out and styling it. Definitely going to go back more often, another plus is you can’t beat the price!

Ive had my hair cut before here in the past and its turned out great. the last time i ask for color all over, and 3 inches taken off my hair. color turned out great besides dye being smeared all over my forehead. instead of getting 3 inches taken off like i asked for, i ended up with 5 inches of hair being cut off. not only that, but the hair on the front of my hair is cut unevenly and very choppy looking.

I cut my hair cut and curled I originally tipped well and left relatively happy, I did brush out the curls in my car as they were ringlets. After I washed my hair I found my hair was really uneven on both sides and just chunky, I had told the girl the same thing I tell everyone who’s cut my hair and it doesn’t look nearly as good. There’s random long pieces and it’s really chunky and poorly blended. I realized when I got home too that my undercut was still really long and I had told her the same number I’ve told everyone who’s shaved it, this made me realize she never showed me the back which most stylists do. I really wanted to like it, but I did go somewhere else and get it fixed and that’s why the rating is so low.

Always a pleasure going here. The students are very nice and attentive. The instructors make the atmosphere light and fun, and often times you can hear them singing along to the music on the radio. Never had so much fun getting my hair done. Highly recommend!!

Awful service. I have attempted to book 3 appointments here and every single one has been cancelled the day of because someone calls in sick. I had a pedicure appointment the day before my vacation and it got cancelled 2 hours before and I have tried to make 2 appointments for my hair both have been cancelled the day of 2-3 hours before. They do not sound apologetic and offer nothing in return. Not worth the hassle for a few dollars cheaper.

Customer service is great and so are the students everyone was very friendly and welcoming but I got a basic gel set on Saturday for my birthday. Not only did it take almost 3 hours. Completely fine they’re learning students I totally get that. But it costed almost $70 kind of outrageous not only that but by Wednesday 2 broke off. They got me in right away to have the 2 fixed which is why it’s a 3 star and not a 2. I live all the way in Truro and had been down for my birthday events but what if I hadn’t been. I’d be stuck with broken nails. The next day a full nail just came off while I was sleeping. The other 2 broke while I was simply getting my wallet. I try to be understanding with them being students but at least don’t charge so much if the quality is going to be poor. :(

Twice I called for booking but at the other end dont listen to what a person is asking and just put the call on Hold.. Not only that if u visit personally no one attends has to wait for couple of mins. and when asked for booking its always not on the same day... Not at all worth going... just the big name frame.

I went there to get my hair lightened. Naturally dirty blonde so I didnt think it would be that hard. The lady cutting and colouring my hair was amazing. She was sweet and so kind. The instructor however was very rude almost too the point of argumentative. The student ended up apologizing for the teacher many times and kept trying to get the teacher to allow her to do a different technique so my hair would look good. But nope. Ended up with choppy highlights that look like avril lavigne from the 90's. Had to go to a different salon the next day and get it fixed.

I have been going to HDC for years now, and usually I have a great experience and an very happy with my results. In this particular instance I have never been so dissatisfied and upset with the final result. I will preface this with, my service was not a simple one, but it was not completely unrealistic or impossible. Almost triple the length I wanted was cut off, (I asked for 2-3 inches to trim it and make it healthy, what was taken off was 8-9 inches) and while I understand that lightening grow out is no easy request, the biggest problem was with the colour application afterwards. Full sections completely missed, and minimal or non existent blending between shades. Thankfully I'm experienced in colouring my own hair and will fixing it shortly and won't need to go back.

My 13-year-old daughter desperately wanted fashion-coloured hair. As she had straight A+‘S in her final report, her Dad and I agreed that she could. We made an appointment at HDC, and the person on the phone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. When we arrived for the appointment, we got Madison, who has fashion colours in her hair, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Her colleague, who was also wonderful, assisted with the application. They lightened my daughter’s hair, then did a bricklaying technique using pink and yellow. It looked amazing. FYI: The instructors check-in with the stylists at all key points; and the instructors were awesome too! The finished result is exactly what my daughter was looking for, it’s vibrant and fun, just like her! Madison and team did an incredible job!!

Hair is well done and was what I asked for but for a simple cut and partial foils I was at the salon for a full 6 hours and would've been longer if I let her fully dry and style it afterwards. I was told that the best time estimate was to double what time spent in a professional salon would be. Which in this case would've made my appointment 3 hours, I added an extra hour for possible hiccups for a max of 4 hours. I was in the chair for 6 hours, all the other stylists had left for the day and the managers were just sitting and chatting. None stepped in to help, it is poor customer service to have someone sit in a chair for 6 hours, and very poor confidence booster to leave the newly trained stylist to fend for herself. The money spent at a real salon is worth it, especially for the ability to be able to do something else with your day besides have your butt go numb from sitting in the salon chair.

Was there for a cut and colour, was quoted a price and got charged double. When I questioned and confronted them about the price, I was told not to come back. Sad part I didn't get colour I wanted. Oh and Suzanne and the front should not deal with customers, she is rude and unpleasant to deal with. She doesn't like confrontation, and she was the one who told that "this may not be the right place to come". Now if this is how they teach their students for life experiences, they will sadly and quickly woken up by realities of the work force. Only good thing about this mess is I will get partial refund who their price mistake.

So disappointed and won’t be back. I got my hair done Monday and felt like it didn’t feel right when I left. I washed and straightened it to see what was up and this is the result. I am not blaming the student as I know she was learning, however the teacher came in and started doing the layers without explaining what he was doing and was going so fast and showing off and it resulted in this. To top it off, he let out an audible sigh when my stylist asked him to help her with toner. So disappointed and I will not return ever ever ever and I will continue to tell people not to go. Teachers need to be on the ball and helping to guide students.

I went back into the salon to attempt to have my hair fixed ( I know it sounds crazy ) and worked with a new student London and a new instructor Deb. Now my hair to say anything was challenged so I never thought in my wildest hair dreams that I could walk out with a killer style only that hopefully it would be an improvement. And wow was I ever wrong, London nailed it! She was happy and cheerfully while she meticulously toiled above my head, layering in new colour and blending it in to the old. She took a hair nightmare and somehow turned it into a dream. I now have perfect cascading layers of red and blonde perfecting melting into each other. My hair looks like it came out of a magazine! I'm happy to say that I'll be a client of hers for many years to come!

I went to school here I won a ton of awards but the manager when I was there was terrible and didn't handle conflicts well. They dock you of 30 minutes if you are 1 minute late. They will send you home if you dont have your hair done and make up on and the teachers pick favourites. I didnt know that I was doing incredibly well until I graduated and won awards because they dont communicate well with the students Garbage school.

Had my hair done here last weekend. My appt started at 11am and I didn't leave until after 4pm. The time is ok. I understand the students are still learning. I had colour and foils, the colours are not what I asked for, neither is the cut. Completely longer on one side than the other and that was the teacher that did the cutting! Granted I have thick hair, but I walked out of there paying over $200. On the plus side, when I called today to see if I could get the cut fixed, they agreed and got me in the same day! Which is why they are getting 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. I've been there once before and had a great experience, this time, not so much.

Students work quite hard at what they do. They are friendly, professional and observant. Some services may take a while, but it is done with care and is affordable. Instructors check frequently on the progress. I recommend this to anyone who wishes to have affordable yet quality service. Does not disappoint.

Went to have nice caramel highlights and facial for a vacation but didn’t have good experience. Hands of the student that was appointed were shaking continuously… I could feel how nervous and inexperienced she was. Teachers checked regularly but they didn’t notice that she didn’t cover my hair with colour fully …even after a treatment for four hours, she left hair above neck bleached and without colour ….also the colour she did wasn’t Caramel…it was something else…really disappointing…they offered a fix which would take another one hour and I have to avail that within a week. At least they should have water dispenser…couldn’t get water to drink during my five hour visit in July. Only experienced staff should be allowed to treat clients if they are charging so high … paid $147 for highlights and a regular facial.

I attended this school (esthetics program) and I can assure you I will NEVER recommend this school to ANYONE. I was basically set up for failure. I loved my instructors but there's only so much they can do when they have 20 other students to look out for. This school is simply there to take your money and make money off you. They work you to death. Every single day students were breaking down crying. They barely give you the basics then throw you into the spa and you make them money. They exhaust you. Once I finished my program I ended up getting a great job with an amazing spa! However, they basically had to train me all over again because I wasn't even doing cuticle work right and other things. The instructors are run to the ground as well. I've heard faculty talking ill of students, some pick favorites, and if you don't stand up for yourself you're walked all over. When I said there wasn't a day someone didn't have a breakdown I literally was not joking. This school destroys people's mental health. Lisa, Renee, Sandy, Tammy & Mel did the best they could and I appreciate those ladies so much but it's hard to be shown correctly when they're looking after 20 other students as well. All the school is concerned about is getting people in and getting them out to bring more students in. Hope you enjoy my 11000$. I will be successful in this field but it's not because of HDC I can tell you that.

I went to school here. Great products to learn with & nice salon, however the scheduling is very intense and there is very little support for students. HR is awful. Students really do want to make the clients happy because they are passionate about their future career, but in reality 95% of them are incredibly exhausted and tired of working 12 hour days on repeat for the school. If you have a problem they will most likely push it aside and not be willing to listen and accommodate you. What you don’t see is students breaking down in their car during their lunch break. A lot of students are so caught up in the Monday-Friday 12hr days that they barely have time to work a paying job outside of school. These students WILL give you great services and educate you because you are the #1 priority! However on the school side, they seriously need to re-evaluate how they handle things and need more support for students.

The staff and instructors are beyond rude and only out for the money, they bully the students and make them do services sometimes without a break, this is supposed to be a "school" learning environment however they just want the money. Save your money and spend it at a full service salon!

I got hair color and haircut done. I was really disappointed with the color service. It was very unprofessional. Back of my t-shirt was stained in colour and I realized it once I got back home and my husband pointed it out. I felt so bad since I finished up my groceries wearing that t-shirt and I wasnt aware of how bad it was from back. I won't recommend getting hair colour done here. very disappointed after spending 3 hrs felt like my t-shirt was getting coloured instead of my hair

This is a shout out to Amanda Moore..I have had many pedicures but none have been as amazing as my experience yesterday with Amanda..She is an amazing person who is very passionate about what she does and it shows in her work..I can honestly say hands down that the pedicure and attention that Amanda gave my feet was the best I have ever had..If you want an amazing experience and the best pedicure ever go see Amanda Moore..I am completely spoiled now and I will continue to follow Amanda once she graduates...

I went in to get my gel nails taken off and the person who took them off had to be shown by an instructor how to file off the nails. She was hardly paying attention when she was filing and ended up cutting my skin with the file. The instructor came over and noticed that I had started to bleed and did nothing about it, she didn't ask if I was ok, she just told the girl to keep filing. My nails were completely destroyed and it took 3 hours and cost way too much, as I was paying they were trying to sell me a cuticle oil that was $45. I would not recommend going here ever.

A lovely young girl did my hair colour yesterday. She did a great job, taking her time to be thorough. She will have a great career due to her attention to detail and cheerful and positive approach. My only negative comment is that my appointment got moved twice to allow extra time as it is a learning environment. I was perfectly ok with that and expected the appointment to be long. However, besides colour service, I needed a haircut and even being there over 3 hours was not enough time for the cut. So, be realistic when booking. Overall, it is a great way to save on professional hair services and products
