i had a great experience. i had never driven before and Gerry got me comfortable and taught me all that i needed to know to be a great driver. Amazing thing is i passed my G2 test on the first go having never driven before. That shows you how good he is.

Best driving school in Thunder Bay. Gerry's course is informative and challenging and had left me more than satisfied. He will teach you the importance of driving defensively and being prepared for everyday driving. Take this class expecting that you will have to work to reap it's full benefit. And remember, practice, practice, practice... If you still don't believe me, I passed the g2 road test today without ever learning the route.

I had terrible driving anxiety. Actually, I said I would never drive, but at the ripe old age of 34, I decided enough was enough. I researched and asked for recommendations and Gerry came highly regarded, especially for someone like me, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. He is passionate about what he does and it shows. My only hope is that he's still teaching when it's time for my son to drive. He taught me to be a defensive, confident driver. He will hammer points so many times that you will hear his voice in your head when you're driving. He won't tiptoe around - he'll call you on your bad habits and that's exactly what is needed. Because when you know better, you DO better. I think all drivers need a little bit of Gerry in their lives.

As someone who learned to drive at 36, I'm very happy that I went to Gerry's school. He makes sure that his students really learn to drive, and not just for the road test. His classes can be a bit hard, but he is very patient and he also likes to joke and laugh to help us relax on those first experiences behind the wheel. I passed by G2 test with compliments, and I feel very confident that I'll pass the G test on my first attempt. And Gerry was right: I've been driving for 3 months, and I can still hear his instructions when I'm approaching an intersection! =)

I took this driving course @thedrivingschool.ca which is simply the best for someone who needs to understand the concept of driving. The best part about Gerry's teaching pattern is he keep things very simple, precise and to the point. I am so impressed by his explanation skills which are incredibly logical and beyond convincing. All I can say is its been a year I came to Canada, having no Canadian driving experience. I just took this course completed my in class training and worked 10 hours with Gerry in car and gave my G2 road test right after my last class. I am looking forward to give my G road test now... The driving school.ca is the perfect option for someone of any age who would like to learn how to drive properly. Gerry kept the class fun and was awesome in the car. He will show you everything you need to know and keep you on your toes and make sure you pay attention to every detail cause that's a big part of what driving is. Bottom line, this is the school to go to. He won't show you the drive test route, you won't need to know it. He will show you how to drive.

I started driving with Gerry in the city and he has a good sense of humor, made me laugh at every detail about my mistakes. Been able to point out all my problems with my driving from the git-go. I'm from the rez (North Western Ontario), where the only muddy waters are...lol. Gerry has taught me some very good lessons about my steering and how to look at every possible angle while driving. Made sure to stop correctly and where to look before making right turns and left turns. He makes sure to message you before your time slot, so make sure that you're available at that time because it'll not only cost ya but your wasting his slot time for another driver who really needs his lessons. He's a very honest and funny man, he notices every single mistakes you make on the road. He knows his safety driving and up to date procedures, I would recommend you to take his driving course. He knows his stuffs. LoL. Yup! He sure helped me alot about driving safely. ????

I was in one of the first classes Gerry ever ran under TheDrivingSchool.ca He made the in-class teaching go by quickly as he made it a fun, open, and inviting environment for the class. He's a lighthearted guy who takes his job very seriously, but at the same time understands how to make it fun to learn about driving. Gerry has a tremendous amount of experience with driving whether its all the years behind the wheel teaching new drivers or his early, early years as a tow truck driver. Its also worth mentioning that Gerrys always changing something within his company for the better whether its to get a newer and better car for the students, or running one of his many cool promotions like giving cash back to his students, or one of his gaming console contests. It's always a pleasure to talk to Gerry in and out of the car!

Gerry knows the significance of teaching kids how to drive. Some people are hesitant to go to his school because they have heard that it's "too hard" but that's why I liked driving with him because he clearly cares about all his students and their safety. He makes sure you understand what he's trying to teach you. The classes were very thorough and in depth. The in car lessons he teaches you to be confident and be aware of everything that's going on around you. I would definitely recommend taking The Driving School to help you be a good driver.

Best driving school in the city! Had a great experience, learned lots, and the course was great value for the money. Called every school in town, and found the best pricing here. I had Gerry as an instructor, so I got to drive his Prius. Nice to drive a new car, rather than the old cars the other schools have. 5/5 would recommend. It's not the easiest course, but that's cause Gerry has expectations and wants to see you succeed.

thedrivingschool.ca is the best driving school in Thunder Bay in my opinion. When I started learning driving in high school, my friends and I used to share how our driving lessons were going. When I realized that I was being taught "how to drive" instead of "how to pass the road test" I knew I invested in the right place. Sure, passing the road test is a goal but more importantly, being able to make it home safe and have your parents trust that you can drive defensively in any condition. The one thing that makes this driving school stands out is that all the lessons are RECORDED. This means that you can go back to your recordings and review what you learnt anytime in your life.

Gerry is super helpful, not only is everything on his class standard and every lesson is very specific and to the point, he also offers great advice when it comes to issues about traffic tickets. Gerry is an incredible driving instructor, he taught me everything I needed to know about driving and being safe. I took his course in 2008 when i was 16. I was nervous to drive in the city because I came from a small town, but he quickly made me a confident and cautious driver with all our in car lessions. he was patient and understanding, to this day I think about words he taught me whenever i come across situations while driving. He truly cares about his students and has their best interest at heart. The fact that he is the only instructor adds to the quality of the education new drivers will receive. The in car experience with a parent also added piece of mind and showed me that my girls were being taught properly and professionally. Don't let your kids go the the "easier" schools that don't really give a damn. They just want to bump up their pass rates even if it's at the cost of your new driver not being educated on proper driving practice. 5 STARS and more to Gerry!!! Thanks for caring ... I can wholeheartedly say that going to The Driving School was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. I got my G1 and had been driving for months before I even started driving school. Teaching fresh, new kids is one thing, but teaching a kid with bad habits how to drive safely in only 10 hours is something that not everyone can do, but Gerry did it with flying colours. Though not only are his teaching abilities phenomenal, but it's evident to me that he treats his kids as more than students; he cares for each one of us. Finally getting my G2 is surreal and my skill development is all thanks to Gerry. I'd recommend The Driving School any day.

Lets just say i had pretty bad driving anxiety when i first started out.... Gerry showed me that it really isn't as terrifying as it seems. He gets down to the point of what you are doing wrong and is a great teacher. I went through this driving school and found that Gerry's way of teaching is very effective. He makes it feel like your not really in a classroom and that your having fun while really learning rules of the road and how to drive. The hours in car and in class go by very fast. One of the thing's that I really liked was he gives you an SD card that records your in car lesson's that you can bring home and watch yourself. I would suggest this driving school for anyone who is really wanting to properly drive.
