Mr. John is a great teacher. He cares about his students and isn't there to rip you off. He charges reasonably (price per lesson isn't sky-high), is quite experienced, and was honest and fair about his judgement of my driving skills and made sure that I got enough practice for my G. Continuing my driving lessons with Cherry, from North York Driving School, was indeed a blessing. She is very calm which makes driving easy. I did not attend the North York driving school but was looking for a driver who I was comfortable learning to drive with after failing my first driving test at Lindsay. One of my staff Charis Dao-Il, a former student of North York Driving School, gave me Mavis’s number who then put me on to Cherry. I will miss her because it was more fun times together on the road than lessons. Cherry taught me what I need to know and I must admit that I pushed her so many times to go over and over what I thought I was weak in, she never got frustrated but allowed me to do what I felt I needed to practice on. In my second road test, this Wednesday I passed at Peterborough flawlessly with a100%. Kudos to Cherry and to North York Driving School for having such highly skilled driving Instructors. Terrible, he does not care about you at all, during the driving lessons he never pays attention to me. It was an ALL WAY STOP SIGN, I stop see there is no cars and drive forward, he immediately steps on the brakes and grabs my arm and start yelling at me. He assumed it as a NORMAL STOP SIGN and got mad at me for not rolling and looking both ways, even though I did look both ways , it was an ALL WAY STOP and there clearly wasn't anything blocking any of the sides nor cars. Also he is always on his phone calling and texting, the moment he gets the cash he doesn't care about you at ALL. DO NOT GO TO THIS DRIVING SCHOOL, JOHN IS A TOXIC PERSON. oh I aint using my real name because i don't want you coming to my house and doing some crazy shit, because you clearly are unhinged.

CHERRY is a great instructor! Make sure you ask for her. She was very patient , polite and always available to help. She taught with clear techniques so you can quickly learn and do it by yourself. Her teaching with clear techniques helped me pass my test. I had bad instructors before Cherry and I waked away from them. If you encounter bad instructors (rude, yelling, not available for booking lessons, can’t answer your questions), don’t be afraid to walk away from them and find yourself a good one. After reading positive reviews about North York Driving school, I've decided to purchase sessions with them. All the positive reviews where about John (the owner) and after meeting with him, he had referred me to one of his associates. I trusted his judgement and agreed to be assigned with his associate. Unfortunately the reviews did not extend towards his associates. I have had the unfortunate experience driving with Elsa recently, and it was very unprofessional and I felt more of a paycheque to her as student who wanted to learn how to drive. The sessions we had together (including the additional ones I paid in cash for which makes me suspect that it was under the books) came with three commands: too much gas, slow, and easy. I was not critiqued on my faults and was not properlly trained to improve my driving. Booking a lesson with Elsa was a nightmare altogether. She would either say she was too busy, book last minute, or didn't read text messages fully, having to reiterate yourself via telephone conversations. She made a habit to show up early, which was a plus. But she also expected you to be early as well and go once she arrived. Cancelling an appointment was also a headache. Elsa would call repeatedly, leaving your voicemail full and send multiple text messages all saying, "call me". We didn't connect well (obviously) but I tried to be as gracious as possible to avoid getting robbed of my money for the lessons. My road lesson came and I was nervous. I didn't pass because of nervousness as well as not having a good instructor overall. The driving centre was behind schedule and she asked me if I could take the bus back home because she was going to be late for her next student. I ended up taking an uber and her response to me was, "don't be mad at me". She hasn't contacted me since the road test. I thought she would call me, seeing how I didn't pass and would obviously need lessons. I'm assuming she hasn't gotten in contact with me because she failed as a teacher and doesn't want John to know. Lessoned learned. Only book lessons with instructors who have positive reviews on here.

Most instructors will not tell you or be upfront with you about everything you need to be a proper driver on the road in hopes that you'll fail and have to redo the test so they can get more $$$. John does not care about you once you have paid. I brought the gold BDE course. The driving lessons were terrible, I dreaded getting into the car. He would always make side remarks such as you did the same mistakes multiple times, he slap my hand when i did a turn too fast and was screaming at me. Imagine screaming at a student, please go find a better career where you arent teaching people.

I had failed my road test already, about a month ago, I knew I needed extra help to pass this time, I only took 2 classes with this instructor but it really helped me, I was able to pass this time! I am so happy because it is not an easy road test. Please take my advice and go with this instructor, all of his tips help me a lot this time around it was worth every penny and I couldn’t have passed without him. I never get the chance to practice driving as my husband uses our car and I have come to depend on Uber because it’s so convenient but I prefer to drive on my own and again I believe that thanks to him, all this will change for me from now on.

John is such a patient and calm instructor who really cares about making sure you know what you're doing in order so that you not only pass your road test, but so that you know how to drive on an everyday basis. After I failed my G test on my first attempt, I needed to book another one before my license expired. There were no available dates but John was thoughtful enough to find me a last minute cancellation that I would be able to take and thanks to him I passed and I was able to complete my license a couple days before it expired!

The Driver Instructor (John) taught me how to drive with a very bad attitude. He was very poor at teaching, unfortunatly. I did not learn anything under his guidance. He was quick to point out my mistakes but made no effort to show me how to correct them. New drivers will make mistakes, especially without a lot of experience in driving. A driving instructor should accept that mistakes will happen. Look elsewhere, I will no longer follow this school... this was my worse experience with a driving instructor. PS: Yelling at students is very unprofessional. If you cannot teach or don't have the nerve for it, please find another profession. Thank you.

I went going by the ''good'' reviews and was disappointed to meet and impatient and inconsiderate ''instructor'' who argued with me.Who argues with their students? Don't waste your time and energy on this ''driving school'' instead go to Young Drivers Driving School. Price is cheap but so is the lesson quality.

Instructors are professional. They explained the driving techniques very well, like reverse parking, parallel parking, forward parking, stop sign and many more. They even explained the techniques and rules on paper. I passed my driving test in first shot because of a key technique taught by my instructors. The key to success in the test is PATIENCE. Be patient on the stop ???? signs, be patient on red signal, be patient on road speed.

When I met instructor Elsa at the North York Driving School, I at the moment had exactly a month left to the date of expiry of my G2 licence. I expressed to her that I have a road test booked in 2 weeks and would like her assistance to better my driving skills. She then said the location of my driving test was not convenient for her and she cancelled it and booked it to the one closer to her. After one-two sessions with Elsa I wasn't quite satisfied with her service, I kept expressing to her that I need help with parking and she would ask me to do other things, she wouldn't pick me up from my house instead she would tell me to meet her at a subway station that would take me an hour of travel time to get to.. I continued taking lessons with Elsa as I didn't have a commitment with her and would pay per lesson, wasn't a package so I decided to give her one more chance before I drifted elsewhere. I canc the driving class for the weekend because I was sick with flu. Elsa then accused me of being a liar because I didn’t sound sick (I was confused). But I still gave Elsa another chance and booked a class with her, this one I also I had to canc due to conflict of interest with work. Elsa then began to send me harassment text messages along with calls having had enough I kindly expressed to her that no longer needed her services, Elsa being vindictive canc my driving test knowing that now I only have a week to the date of expiry. So I would say this particular instructor lacks professionalism tactics, and customer service skills, and so does the company for hiring instructors like Elsa.
