This was honestly the best experience when it comes to driving or learning to drive. I am (or should I say WAS) a nervous driver to begin with, and my instructor, Joseph, was able to understand that, embrace it and then get rid of the fear real quick. With his professional and friendly approach he helped me gain the confidence to not only actually drive without overthinking everything, but pass my test with ONLY 2 mistakes! They were so minor the examiner was impressed with my driving and skill, and surprised this was my first attempt. The fact that we only had about a month and a half for me to learn and execute driving and I did so well just shows what a good teacher can do. I just want to say thank you for being patient, understanding, and encouraging. I also want to thank you for the times you needed to correct me and be stern to "drive" the point home. You understand that as a teacher you need to do both; be a friend and a guide. Joseph, you're the man! I owe you! I'll be back for highway driving very soon! All the best!!

A great place to start your first ever driving lesson or strengthen your driving skills for safer driving. Joseph was really strict to me, but this helped quite a lot in eliminating problems in your driving that will make you fail a test or even get into a real collision. I had a lot of problems in turning techniques and timings, and I really had a struggle in the car. Joseph, with hours of practice, helped me to deal with all these, and I finally managed to pass the G2 test in my first try. Joseph is not the kind of instructors you are looking for if all you need is simply pass the test from zero experience within 10 in-car hours (I know some people do that. I’d never recommend doing this as driving alone before you really mastering it is literally risking your life). However, if you want to make your driving perfect even in the most strict criteria and most unforeseen scenarios, Joseph and this Driving 101 Driving School is surely where you should go for. I have tried 2 other driving schools, but acquired the most skill and experience from driving101 school while driving with Joseph. He immediately noticed all the flaws in my driving - after ~15 hours I spent with other instructors who were happy with my skills and did not point out obvious errors. Then he fixed the majority of those issues. Finally, not only I passed my G2 with only 2 minor errors, but I actually started to feel much more comfortable and confident driving a car. In fact, I was so satisfied that I even recommended this school to my wife - who only started her journey towards G2. Thanks Joseph, and I'm looking forward to those G lessons!

I'm confused about the glowing reviews. This experience has been a nightmare from the beginning. Stay away from this place at all costs. I was looking for lessons leading up to my G2 test as well as an instructor to bring me to the test itself. I had recently moved so I needed a new instructor in the area. My only criteria was that I would get picked up and dropped off and taken to my G2 test Aug 29. Despite being assured that my pickup/drop-off in Parkdale was fine, the moment my first lesson came around I was told to meet the instructor at Old Mill station. When I reminded the instructor, he begrudgingly accepted. The day of however, he mysteriously got a flat tire. Something a coworker that had referred me said he had encountered when cancelling last minute with him. Still, gave him the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled. Finally, severally weeks after paying for the lessons, I have my first lesson with a pickup at my location. The Sunday was completely devoid of any traffic but the instructor was still 15 minutes late. Then right off the bat, the instructor was rude, aggressive and domineering. On my first turn he was already grabbing the wheel at a point where there was no danger of me steering anywhere dangerous. On any lane changes he would take the wheel away from me while I checked my blindspots and yell at me to trust him and just to focus on the pedal. He would then be yelling about arm tension, lights, pivoting over gas and brake but only when he wasn't texting people on his phone. After 45 minutes, the "lesson" was over despite being an hour lesson. He then proceeded to say, "See, this is why you should meet me in Etobicoke. It's too stressful here for a driver like you." Clearly trying to angle a simpler pickup for his schedule. My response was that the only thing that made me nervous in this ride was his persistent grabbing of the steering wheel without there being any danger. After asking for a new instructor I get a call from Joseph. He's immediately confrontational. I was up front about my issues with his instruction style and before I could finish he began yelling profanities at me at the top of his lungs. It was to the point I had to move my ear away from my phone. Please consider this when thinking about getting an instructor for someone with ADD, hard of hearing or seniors. While this school claims to work with people that have different learning needs as mentioned above, they might find themselves in a similar situation as me. After a barrage of text messages from a clearly disgruntled driving instructor I've been told by the manager of the school that I will receive a refund for the 3 lessons and G2 test. At least Kim, the person I spoke to was reasonable and polite. TL;DR Avoid at all costs. Extremely rude and aggressive instructor.

This driving school has been nothing but a phenomenal experience. From the classroom to in the car itself Joseph was the best teacher I could have hoped to have had. He not only had the expertise to teach different driving techniques and principals but he had the practical knowledge to explain why exactly you learn everything he teaches. He was very upfront about what needed work and did not hesitate to explain any minor mistakes made while driving but he also outright recognized achievements and improvements made throughout the progress in lessons. He knew what could be achieved and how to get his students there. More than teaching how to drive a car this school was able to teach me how to be confident at the wheel. I absolutely love driving and respect how important it can be to learn and drive the right way. Thanks to Joseph and this school I have learned just that and had fun doing it. I am very appreciative to have had the opportunity to learn here.

I would not recommend this driving school, especially Joseph wasn't so good himself. Other driving schools let you drive around the test area but he said you're not allowed. Don't let him fool you , all he wants is your money !

Joseph is a really good teacher. I have become defensive in my driving for all the good reasons and benefits. It took me a lot of time in getting rid of my Indian (& bad) driving habits. "It will be an understatement if I say Joseph is a great teacher!" This is for everyone that is looking to pass the G Test (arguably the most difficult one). I just took one 2hrs session from Joseph and trust me it was more than enough for the G-test. He is an excellent communicator and teacher. If you just listen closely and follow his instructions, it is enough to clear the G test on any given day. Thank you Joseph, you are truly a -- "1 Session maestro!" I kept calling out the sign and turns during my test, it helped my examiner to understand what's going on in my head. It was a brilliant experience overall.

Well, I passed my G license in one shot with Joseph. School was very nice, I told them my G2 will be expired soon, so they very fast booked my text, and schedule my for 10 driving classes. The instructor's time is very flexible, fits my working schedule. Love the tricks he taught me how to parallel parking. Very helpful teaching, not just for pass test, also good for knowing these stuff for safer drive.

My original classes were postponed due to lockdown. In the meantime, I took their online course and I found the experience to be very straightforward. The course was very interactive and it was an easy site to use. Once the lockdown was lifted, my classes started immediately. My test was in a few weeks, so I was nervous I could not get the full driving class experience. However, the school took that into consideration and booked classes regularly (while accommodating for my work schedule). The classes themselves were very helpful. I had already been driving for a while, but there was still a lot I needed to learn. The instructor was very patient and helped improve my driving by teaching me simple tricks and good driving habits. These classes gave me the confidence I needed to pass my test.

I had a great experience with the school. I started learning in the midst of the pandemic and Joseph was reachable and approachable to all questions I had and how to navigate through the challenges of driving during a pandemic. The classes were all online and learnings were easy to absorb. As a professional, I could take the classes in my own time and had no problem passing the tests after taking the classes. I had Said as my driving instructor. He was extremely patient, kind and polite during the whole journey. He worked around my weakness and took the time to explain what I was doing wrong so it did not happen next time. Best of all, i got my driver's license on the first attempt. All this happened because in the last 2 weeks of practice, Said worked on making me more confident on the road, improve my judgement and decision making. Just finished the 10 lesson course with Driving 101, to be safe I decided to purchase an extra 4 lesson package just to be confident. This is the best place. At the age of 33, with no prior driving experience. I joined this school. I was even scared of driving at first. This school really trained me well. The in class lessons are practical and you do need such information once you get on road. I had almost no self confidence in passing the test, but their on road lessons are also too good. If you focus and follow their instructions you get confidence slowly. It happened with me. GUESS WHAT? I FINALLY PASSED MY TEST IN THE VERY FIRST ATTEMPT. Their practical information sharing helped a lot. If you want excellent driving lessons this is the best place I recommend. If they can make someone like me to pass the test in the first attempt, they must be better than best.

this guy just wants money from you guys. wouldnt recommend hes voice makes you more nervous because he scream if you do a little mistake. didnt pass my g2 at first because he didn't teach me enough! one hour before my driving test he just teach me how to do parallel parking. on that time i was. so nervous because of the road test then instead of bring your spirit up and make you feel ok and confident driving no!! he will tell you ohh your not ready still you need more time!!! because he wants more money from me and tell me i need more time to practice. then i failed and he was happy i failed! you think hes okay!?? he asked me to get more lessons from him ?! like whaatt? is he okay??? and i even bring my two friends just for him to have more student to teach . just giving you guys a heads up. my opinion my experience was terrible and the worst !!!!

Recently Driving 101 Driving School and Maple and Clover have been targeted by a scam company based in India going by the name of COD-Media, because they were denied business. I'm leaving this 5 star review to highlight the threats that Canada faces with scammers from India. They have the audacity to leave negative reviews to legitimate and hardworking business owners. Based off all the positive reviews that Driving 101 Driving School has accumulated over the years I'd say this is a very reputable company and if I didn't know how to drive I would trust this company.

Avoid this School by any cost. They will just make you buy their bundles while providing the worst service. Please read the other comments. I have experienced the same abuse as stated by the other people. I got panic attacks because of Joseph's behaviour. Is that even allowed in Canada? I got abused and traumatized. I paid for full hours while Goseph would always be late and always left early. If I complained then he would yell at me and would say that it was my fault. If you are going to take their school for any reason then request the paperwork, otherwise they will ignore you and you will loose all of your money.

Highly recommend this driving school! Joseph (instructor) is very vocal, direct and consistent when giving you tips and reminders on how to better your driving. I found it to be a very valuable way of learning how to drive: you really understand the rules of the road and you learn how to drive appropriately but quite confidently as well. Joseph is quick to answer messages, adapts to your availability and wants you to succeed! If you take the proper amount of lessons and if you are diligent in your practice, you feel as if you are learning how to drive the RIGHT way! I will be back to take lessons for my full G test!

I passed my G Test after having 8 lessons with Joseph. He is very knowledgeable and has a ton of experience with the road test process. I had a tight timeline before my road test and he did what he could to help accommodate additional lessons for me. He is demanding of his students and has high expectations of them so that they succeed on the test…you may feel overwhelmed in the beginning, but that will prepare you for the exam as you can’t guarantee what will happen on the day of the test! Because of that, Joseph prepares you for the worst in order for you to perform at your best under pressure. He not only prepared me to pass the exam, but also helped me become a safer driver overall. Worst Driving Institute. The guy Joseph is very rude and don't have any manners. Before going to this institute please go through all the negative feedback given by other peoples as well. 1. Very rude and not professional trainer. Looks like "Joseph" is the owner as well. 2. 1 hour driving lesson finishes in 40 mins 3. Always on his phone while teaching you in car lesson. My experience with this driving school is a nightmare. During the first lesson, Joseph acted as a professional instructor, he convinced me to buy the 20 lessons package and promised to give me at least one lesson per week, he would put the package students in the first priority. Once I paid the tuition fee, he changed his attitude, he yelled and verbally harassed me, like ' nobody wants to teach you!' 'why your reaction is so slow!' He used his cellphone all the time to make appointments with his students, talked to his friends and his student's family about a complaint against the school. He distracted me but turned around he yelled at me. His teaching skills are yellings and destroyed my confidence. He called me one time and told me that he had booked a lesson with me but he would be late for an hour. I didn't not make that appointment with him. I couldn't accommodate his unexpected appointment because I took med for my allergy. He charged me for that lesson. After couple of lessons he told me that he had to take a break for 10 days. All services he provided were not the same as he described. The appointments were short notice and leftovers. He never checked my driving licence, he doesn't have my licence information. One time he booked me for the driving lesson and then he told me that he would be late for an hour. He is not reliable, I cannot tolerate his harassments, I told him not to come and cancel the package. Joseph started verbally harassed me again, used the words like finicky, dementia, libel, demented, ungrateful, bitter person, defamation...`.No wonder you still do not have your licence at your age!'....He even accused me that I put my hand on his thigh. My hands were on the steering wheel as everyone knows when you learn driving. He probably never looked at himself in the mirror and forgot to measure his height......LOL! If I were him, I would have reported to the police! He deducted $50.00 for one unbooked lesson plus$95.00 for the administration fee. It is a ripoff, $145.00 is not big money but it is the principal of Justice, respect and dignity. The public needs to aware of the truth. I have the messages and emails with Joseph to support what I said is the truth. Do you still think it is safe to learn driving with him? I am going to report him to driver education Ontario,BBB and small claim court. He doesn't deserve any stars. Make sure you read the other posts till the end before you make your decision! What a good novel writer, king of distortion.Tall guy : you don't deserve to be my grandson, you are too old and I don't have the bad genes like you! I don't have any cats, how can I showed you the picture of 10 cats? Who wants to put the hand on your s thigh? .....All hallucinations and lies. From all the complaints about you and the way you response to the complaints, you need to see a psychiatrist. You are the owner of this driving school, I believe more and more students will make posts to let the public know about you. You can get more people to make the fake compliments but as long as different students telling the same experience with you, you are done. I really like my post. It takes so long to post it because you took a long time to refund my money. I had to call my credit card asked you to refund! I never begged anybody, I have money, as you said that I am the boss, I can choose a good driving instructor to teach me, I need my instructor to build up my skills and confidence! That's why you are fired. I gave you a warning already. Nobody will use the road as playground, unless people have the same problem like you! We communicated by texting as you suggested, I have the record to prove what I said is true. I have told you to report to the police for sexual harrassment, be a brave man, OK! If you cannot prove what you said is true, I can sue you for defamation, libel.....that is the only thing I learned from you! I wonder why you know those words so well, by experience, right? Forgot to tell you, I have my driver's licence already!

Thanks to Joseph I passed my G2 road test in the first attempt. It was a very slow but steady process to be able to reach confidence and losing the fear of driving. There were some frustrating days, because is not an easy task to conquer your fears, but if you do the work and follow their instructions you will see how much you will improve in a short amount of time. I moved st kitts to Toronto early this year… it was annoying having to change schools from apex to driving 101 but when I got annoyed and fed up joe and Kim both stepped up and took care of everything for me… i also had the birth of my baby 6 weeks early November 3rd and unexpectedly Kim and Joseph went out and got some premi cloths for my new born ????, My test was rebooked because of weather but they got me my next test within the month and I past first go, he had given me a lot of good knowledge on how to pass my test and because of that I did, absolutely a great experience and I honestly feel like ive gained a very good friend/friends. What a great experience I’ve had with this school and can’t wait to go get that g license ????

I have completed my G2 driving course in order to prepare for G2 test. I was lucky to deal with Joseph, who listened to me and accurately identified my level of driving skill after just one driving session. The program was quickly adjusted and I was able to finish it even faster than usual with passing the exam too! My daughter just passsed her G2 this morning, first crack, thanks to Joseph. She had taken lessons with another school, but they were very difficult to schedule and she was taking a lesson about once a month; I was worried she wouldn't be prepared by today. Luckily 101 Driving School was recommended on a neighborhood page I belong to, and Joseph was able to schedule my daughter in for frequent lessons before her road test. My daughter said comparing the previous instructor to Joseph was like night and day. She said Joseph was very picky but in a good way, and provided way more corrections and instruction than the previous teacher. Highly recommend this driving school and instructor!

J got me through both road tests first time. I had 20 years of driving experience but hadn't driven for the last 10 so it was my suspicion that some of that experience was probably bad habit and I signed up with Driving 101. I like Josephs style because it works. Driving these city streets is a constant evolution of people not applying good driving principles. I feel a lot more confident driving after lessons with Joseph. I had some ingrained habits I wasn't aware of and these were fleshed out and now I have no worries about driving in Toronto I know how to handle it.

So after paying my fees, I was charged an extra $67 for an "out-of-town" road test booking because the test is being held in Downsview instead of Etobicoke. They are both in the City of Toronto. I was given the option to not pay and wait until MARCH 2022 for my test. I am very upset.

I wanted a refresher so I could get my G, I knew I picked up bad habits after a few years of driving with my G2. I wanted a good instructor, I’ve had a few that just wouldn’t give me their full attention, they were too busy checking texts or on the phone. So I researched and read several reviews and I was convinced that Driving 101 was the place I needed to call. Joseph immediately responded and even though I didn’t have much time until my test date he squeezed me in and we booked some sessions. On the first day of our sessions I learned so much! I knew that he is an instructor that truly cares about the student’s success. He critiqued everything and I needed that, he explained even the simplest road rules that somehow my other instructors never mentioned. I not only knew what I had to do for the test but he would explain why it was important. He is professional and puts you at ease when driving. The day of the G test he was not only my instructor but he was like a good friend that would give you a boost of encouragement when you really need it. Great school! I've been to a couple of them over the years, so I have a bit more of an informed opinion on this. I will be honest this place contrasted to the other place I went to drastically! The classes themselves weren't too boring; the instructors are laid back, but still put the necessary pressure on you to ensure you learn and succeed. Joseph is a great teacher- he's knowledgeable, funny, and makes you feel comfortable in the car. Very important. Last thing you want, is to be stressed while driving. Anyways, I passed my G2 exam with flying colours! Thanks 101.

I took the ministry approved course with 10 driving lessons and 20 hours in class, which means I get to take my G2 test 4 months early and i will get a discount on insurance. Today was my last lesson so today I am paying for another package that includes more driving lessons and use of one of the school cars for the test (the same one I've been driving the whole time????) A special thankyou to Said (my driving instructor) and Joseph who did the in class sessions. Because of them I feel confident in my abilities as a driver. (UPDATE: ) I got another lesson and test Package so that i could practice and take my G test. Joseph helped me secure a test date despite the backlog and When the time came i easily passed the driving test! I am now a G class driver!!!! ???? I took my G1 years ago- it expires in 2020. I called around to driving schools in my area and get quotes, questions answered and information on the process. The company I had called was under the name of ‘trusted instructors’ in August I was asked for my license number along with the entire deposit for my lessons, all this before they'd provide me a schedule. That company was bought out by this current company. I politely asked for a schedule before paying, if it didn’t work in my time frame, it didn’t make sense to pay them and then cancel and rebook. When booking my road test I assumed I was booking with the school, I wanted them and their car and was going to pay for it. What I wasn’t informed of, was that the road test was not booked with them, but the government. That I wasn’t paying for my test, because it had already been paid during my G. Now, it’s my fault for being nervous about my written test and not remember that I had already paid for the G2 test at the same time. It’s literally been years since the time. The schedule given in Aug wasn’t going to work with my schedule. I called and informed them I wasn’t interested and would get back to them at a later date when it worked with my schedule. Months go by. I will not be going with this school because I have concerns with how they handle emails. After being belittled and threatened, I feel confident in my choice to not have one of their instructors educate me, I do not handle aggressive tactics well. All email chains I have, they will be posted in this business public photos. Hopefully they remain there. This is bad customer services. I would be fired from my job for using the words and tone used in these emails. I would NEVER tell a client they’re a ‘scammer’ for asking valid questions. I quote your email here - “You asked people to do work without paying a single penny. You asked a company to book your test and then you simply run out on people without responding. We are guessing you asked to steal people's time to get a booking. That makes you a scammer.” Receptions are meant to book - they’re meant to schedule, and sometimes - it doesn’t work out. I gave you advance notice a date you booked without confirming without me first, wouldn’t work. I would NEVER tell a client that that are ‘special’ (rude to me, but mostly degrading cause of the connotation against a group of people) because they want to know scheduling. I again, quote you here ‘Your instructor call you to let you know you must cancel yourself. Your excuse is you don't know how? Well that's your problem. Again you expect people to take their free time to book AND to cancel your test too?? Are you special!’ I’d like to remind you - I called a SCHOOL to inform me of a process that I’m unaware of - who was I supposed to go to? I highly recommend reading all the reviews for this business. Once is a crazy customer. More then that is a pattern. I encourage you to read this establishments responses to critic. Usually when I’m faced with an issue I respond with an apology and solution to do better in the future. I quote you a third time. “Learn some facts and help yourself out a little bit instead of blaming and relying on people to do your work for you? One last warning, and believe it if you wish if not that's your problem again; If there's anything libelous in your review, your post will be forwarded to our in house legal for immediate legal recourse; Chan and Associates Barristers &Solicitors. We sue for defamation, every single case, through the Ontario Superior Court. Go ahead and call our bluff, please do. You've been warned, now take your entitled attitude somewhere else. We are not 30 years in this business by not knowing how to deal with people like you.” A very large company sending such a sever threat to a young woman is terrifying. You’ve done this to me and done publicly to others that have reviewed. I wonder how many stayed silent in terror.

I don't think it's possible to overstate the positive experience that I had with Driving 101. My instructor, Joseph, showed endless patience and a very sharp eye for the small details that make you a better, and safer, driver. The level of attention in instruction that you get is great and I can tell, after interacting with some other students, that Driving 101 provides a learning approach specific to each student. Driving 101 gives you instruction that works and sticks with you long after they've helped you out; it's been nearly one year since my first lesson and I can still hear Joseph reminding me about shoulder and mirror checks! Our son started with Joseph at Driving101 In May of 2020. Online course was excellent. The in-car began but a couple of lockdowns later our son was soon chomping at the bit to take his test. Once Ontario re-opened, Joseph was fantastic going the extra mile, spending time to secure a test date as soon as was possible. He also coordinated remaining in-car lessons with our son's tight weekly schedule, was organized and a great teacher. Today was test date and our son passed. He (We) are so happy. I just passed my G test with this shcool and wanted to share my experiences. I had a experience. My instructor Dale was very personable and fun to be with. I did the 4 day quick course they had and it should come with some sort of insurance discounts. The lessons were fun and even thougn stressful at time, it did make me a much better driver I believe. My parents notice the changes they say. Just a couple of minor things, and I would have given a 5 star. The in classes were not offered weekday evennings, which would have made it easier for me, and Saturday morning 9am classes were a little hard to get up. Lastly, I know it was mandatory, but i think 5 hr classes are too long, maybe cut out some videos? lol Overall, a great experience.

I just done a course at Driving 101. It is a new curriculum and I was asked to share my opinion. I liked the videos, lots of info presented in a fun way. The workbook is colorful and very easy to use and fill in during classes. I did both Saturday and sunday classes. had 2 nice classroom teachers Dale and Joseph. Joseph was a comedian. He teaches in a very fun way, and the coffee (Starbucks!) and pizza for the last session was a nice touch. I haven't started my in car lessons yet, but indications are I think its going to be a great experience too. I might post my experience after.
