I have NEVER driven before. I was 28 years old with a learners and a fear of driving. I spent 10 sessions with Eugene and passed my N. He was an amazing teacher and so helpful with additional tips, do's and dont's, handouts and visuals. I couldn't be more grateful I chose riteway and I will definitely be going back when I can go for my full license and recommending him to anyone who needs lessons.

Hi everyone i want to share my experience with you, I have international driving licence so ICBC count it and i jumped into class 5 road test after passing my knowledge test (29 June 2021). when i was looking for road test appointment i found only in new west I booked it right away , My road test was on 7th july 2021. i took a round in new west day before my road test its bit crowded and very steeply hills, Then I started thinking to book a driving class with in new west . I started searching by school reviews in new west and found rite way fit for me. He give me time slot just before my test. I impressed with his tricks and experience that leads me to pass the test. I highly recommenced rite way driving school

one of their instructors was observed today parking directly underneath a no stopping sign turning on their four ways and waiting for a student to begin a lesson. is it any wonder the drivers of Ottawa have no idea what a no stopping zone is when their instructors are teaching them that the magic orange light button makes everything okay. those rules are just for everyone else, that obstruction to traffic he's causing is insignificant compared to the extra 10 feet the student would have had to walk if the instructor had parked legally. How dare you expect me to obey the rules I am paid to teach others?

Riteway Driving School is the way to go! I was comfortable driving, but wouldn't have passed my test or felt half as confident without some lessons with Eugen. Even having someone else in the car before the test helped a lot. I took my drivers test in poco, everything Eugen taught me applied there too. Driving with Eugen is a good time, and he taught me tons that I wouldn't want to drive without.

For the 20hrs in class portion of this course, I give it 1 star. The classroom was filthy; the floors looked like they hadn’t been swept in 2 months and the whiteboard was black with dry erase smudges. You could tell that the instructor (Ali) knew his material but the delivery of it was just incomprehensible. He would start each class off with some drawings and explanations of the things we were going to cover that day (this is where I actually learned from him) and then the next 3 hours were spent scrolling through a PowerPoint and Ali would simply ask us questions about the PowerPoint slides. I didn’t feel as though I was being taught anything because he just asked the class questions, and then took the student’s answer and would tell us, yes that’s right or that it wasn’t. In our 2nd class he checked his voicemail while teaching us, and in our 3rd class he texted the entire time. I truly did learn the most from the homework links online - that anyone can have access too without buying the course (just saying). I was assigned Ali as my driving instructor for 10hrs through text, and I replied to the text asking if I was able to request a different instructor. My reason being that if I couldn’t appreciate his teaching methods in class I most likely would not be able to the in car (I was unexperienced and very nervous). He said okay and asked what instructor I wanted. Having read the reviews, the only other name I had seen was Jamal so I requested Jamal. Driving with Jamal nearly made me quit the driving school and go spend another couple hundred at a different school. I had warned him that it had been 3 years since I drove so to treat me like a beginner. Jamal raised his voice at me multiple times during our first hour; when I stopped abruptly at stops signs, when I began to slow down when changing lanes, very common beginner mistakes. He also texted a majority of the time in car, only looking up at the road to tell me which direction to go at the next intersection. After my first lesson with him, I texted Ali to see if I was able to get a new driving instructor. He replied to my text with hostility and anger that I was requesting to change instructors for the second time. I tried to explain that I need to feel comfortable with someone if they’re going to be teaching me how to drive. I’m already in a vulnerable position and I need someone who will be patient and work with me while I learn. Ali’s attitude towards me after this was just downright unprofessional. I went on my second drive with Jamal, where we spoke of why I wanted to switch and I told him I didn’t appreciate him raising his voice at me while I’m driving. He argued that he hadn’t raised his voice, that that’s just his voice. We moved passed it, and after that lesson I received a text with the name and number of my new driving instructor. I completed the next 8hrs of driving with Aly M, and he took the time to discuss with me what I needed to work on and help me work on these areas. I am glad that he was there for me, as I was able to pass my G2 test because of him. If it were only him I had dealt with, my experience would have been completely different. After spending about $600 to be taught how to drive, I would really have appreciated much more professionalism and I would expect to have been treated with respect throughout. I regret choosing this driving school.

Eugen is honestly an amazing instructor. We covered everything that could possibly happen when you are on the road in real life situations and during your road tests. He gives honest feedback on what you need to improve on and addresses any questions you may have related to driving. I had failed my class 7 road test three times prior to the start of my lessons with Eugen but with his instructions and advice I was able to finally pass the road test my next time around and gain the confidence I had lost after my failures. You can’t go wrong with Eugen with your instructor. He definitely gives you the knowledge and confidence needed to become a great driver.

He will ensure that you have good driving habits in place, and teach you not just how to pass the test but also how to drive safely and defensively. I took a number of lessons with Eugen to brush up on driving skills (before I was eligible for my class 5 test, I had to go on an international business trip to drive on autobahn and had very minimal driving experience before the lessons with him, I survived thanks to Eugen) as well as prepare for Class 5, which I passed. Eugen was referenced by a friend of mine who previously had him as an instructor. With my previous instructor, even after multiple months of driving, I still felt uncomfortable and unconfident at the wheel, and thus took about a four month break. However, this past summer I just wanted to get my N before the start of school. I booked 9 lessons with Eugen, and by the end of the first lesson, I was already comfortable and confident at the wheel. Eugen is by far one of the most patient, thoughtful, yet constructive and progressive driving instructors. He will make a personal plan for you, and actively plan future lessons and is informative and flexible. He also takes the time to get to know you as a person, which allows you to feel more comfortable with your lessons allowing for success. I only practiced for three weeks and I was incredibly nervous when it came to the test, but Eugen was very supportive and I passed on the first try. Driving lessons in general are pricey, but Eugen is worth it.

I had a poor experience with this driving school. My teacher was regularly at least 15 minutes late for my in-car instruction. Once, he arrived 40 minutes late for a 2-hour lesson, and did not offer to make up the time. He also frequently canceled lessons, and it took over 6 months to schedule 10 hours. He also didn't keep track of how many hours I had done, and questioned my records. He didn't explain basics like shoulder-checking, and couldn't tell me whether he thought I was ready for the exam.

After having my G2 for the full 5 years and procrastinating taking the G test, I was left in a high stress situation where my license was expired and extended on a one-time pass to take the G road test. If I failed I would have had to start ALL over again with the written beginners test and G1, etc. It would have been the biggest headache. I’m SO glad I called Ali at Rite Way. He met me at the Drive Test centre and explained the critical information on a small whiteboard which helped create a visual for the lesson to follow. We drove the route around the test centre and his help and insight was invaluable. I passed my G test on the first try and I attribute it all to ALI at RITE WAY. I have already recommended him to friends and family. I must also note that I am a woman and he was always patient, respectful, understanding and kind throughout the lessons no matter how stressed or nervous I might have been. Thank you Ali!! :)

Reconsider spending you money here. I showed up for my scheduled BDE course this morning, only to see a paper sign saying 'please meet us at our new location for this course'. I never received an email or call informing me about this, there was no way I could have made it to the new location on time. Regardless, if they can't inform me of the new location, how are they supposed to inform me how to drive?

I cleared my class 5 test in the first attempt. Thanks to Mr. Eugen. He is a well organised person who was very patient in helping me to learn and understand the road rules and driving etiquettes. He tracked my progress from time to time and gave valuable feedback to work on. He infact went above and beyond to help me find a driving test vehicle since he wasn't in town that particular day. Since he was much experienced as a driving instructor he was very familiar with all the potential route my examiner might take. That gave me a great sense of confidence for the test. Thank you Mr. EUGEN you did a fantastic job in teaching me how to drive in BC. I am glad I took the classes from you.

AVOID at all cost. I booked the BDE package (which should include 10 hours on road) with them because of the 4 star ratings and that was a mistake. I took lessons with Ali in the winter of 2018. He was not a great instructor, just sat there and wasn’t helpful. After 4 driving classes (4 hours in total) I still only knew how to driving forward and take turns on small streets. Worst of all I was GHOSTED after 5 driving classes with Ali. Says he had a heart operation and disappeared. After two weeks I tried following up by text and calling and NO RESPONSE. I thought something went wrong and he’s not teaching anymore, but judging from the recent (probably mostly fake) comments mentioning him, clearly he’s still teaching!???? I'm going to report them to BBB and thinking of getting a lawyer honestly — I want my money back, but more importantly the way they run things is scammy, dishonest and hurt students.

Having started driving lessons with no prior driving experience at all, I was pretty nervous to enter the roads. However, Eugen has been absolutely outstanding at making me feel comfortable and confident from the very start. From the first day he took me out on neighbourhood streets allowing me to familiarize myself with the car, traffic, and driving. Although it sounded daunting at first, he was very knowledgeable and thorough walking me through the process and outlining very clearly the rules, techniques of safe driving and hazards to look out for. He was very adaptable and amiable with a great attitude and always punctual to the schedule. He truly makes driving very approachable and will leave you blown away of how much you’ve learned and how capable you feel at the end of your lessons. He is flexible allowing to learn on either automatic or standard transmission if you choose. He makes the most of each lesson and you always feel like your learning something even just standing at a red light. I can continue to go on about his service but it’s truly an un regrettable decision and can confidently recommend him for not only improving your driving skills but also improving your confidence while driving too.

Very disappointed with this school ! I do not recommend it at all to anyone.. they lie to you and take 30 dollars saying it's for your certificate but that's not true you can still get your certificate without having to pay the 30 dollars. The instructor wastes your 10 driving hours teaching you NOTHING, So you can then pay them 40 dollars an hour for extra driving lessons. Please listen to me and dont waste ur money with them.

Keep in mind that this course is designed for people who already have their G1, they don't go over everything you need to pass your G1 test. The in class portion was very pleasent, the instructor was very good and answered questions really well. During the in car lessons i found the instructor not professional, as they stay on the phone while you are paying for their time, did not pick me up at my house for the lessons and did not show up on time, reducing my in car lesson time. Also, be careful with where they tell you to stop on the stop sign, remember that you must stop before it, not pretty much on it.

What I really liked about his method is that he would first explain that specific lesson with illustrations and drawings on his tablet and then we started practicing. When I started my lessons, I barely had any experience of driving in Canada. But when you take the lessons with him, everything starts becoming much more clear even the book itself in comparison with the time you study it for the knowledge test. When I called Eugene to help me out with my driving test, I had years of bad driving instilled in me due to the driving conditions we are subjected to back in India (Banglore). You would know what am talking about if you've seen the chaos on these roads on a typical office day. Just the morbid fear of seeing such rash vehicles on the road alongside me, gave me the shivers. I was very nervous behind the wheel and infact avoided driving at all cost. Here though the overall adherence to traffic rules, was slightly comforting to try once again to get behind the wheel. I called up Rite-Way driving based on a couple of reviews that I read online and Eugen is "The best" mentor I could have asked for. He made me feel so much more composed and in control from day-1 and it took him less than 6 classes to figure out tips and tricks that could help me avoid my nervousness. With no car to practice on, I relied heavily on the 6 classes that I got with Eugen to unlearn and relearn driving. He made me feel so comfortable and enjoy driving all over again. The very first thing you notice about this man is his punctuality. I was floored by the fact that he could keep up his time each day 'To the dot!!'. That speaks volumes about him and his persistence to perfection. Everything with him is like clockwork. Follow his instructions to the letter and you would evolve into a safer, smarter and more precise version of the driving you in no time. I did get my Class-5 in the very first go. No surprises there, cuz he trained me that well in the least amount of time we got together. Fun-Fact: It was indeed the same 2 errors he always highlighted to me, that the instructor during the test notified me about too. So take a leap of faith and follow religiously what Eugen asks of you. Be it the good he highlights or the area of improvement or the mistakes. Those are to the dot exactly all you need to do to pass your driving test. Thank you so much Eugen. If not for you, I would have never gathered the courage to get into the driving seat again, let alone pass the test. You are the best!! All the love and support to you!!

When i decided to take my driving seriously the first thing in my head was to contact Eugen not to mention he was my second instructor because i was not comfortable with my first instructor and never learned anything from my previous one. So to cut my story short, on my final day for my road exam he told me to come an hour early so we can do some warm up and review really quick but i ended up big time mess i couldn't do anything because i was so nervous and can't focus and he even asked me "what i am gonna do with you?'" and i told him my feeling that i was so nervous even the day before, so he told me to repeat what he says just to make me calm and he told me to breath deeply and you'll gonna get it, he believed in me in any ways. Eugen was so calm, patient, understanding and the best teacher and also he's funny too :). I will highly recommend Eugen. I will give him thousand stars for my rating :) thank you

Instructions are always clear and straight forward and classes are always open for discussion and examining different cases. The class consisted of some explanation of the lessons we are studying and then was followed by applying it by driving. He also provided secondary materials that added to the process of education and allowed me to study even after my classes ended. In class lessons were okay, but were disorganized. Not that big of a deal, but it made no sense to me that they would start with one lesson but then jump to another out of nowhere. My driving instructor was pretty rude and discouraging. I don't think I remembered anything aside from the constant yelling and degrading remarks. Overall, an okay school but make sure you get a good instructor.

I initially took driver lessons with a big driver school to practice for my N- road test. The driver instructor sort of taught me how to drive but was not really interested in my progress. The organisation at that driver school was horrible. I basically failed my first driver test because I was not ready. I fooled myself in thinking I would be ready. Sadly my driver instructor did not tell me so. Of course it is good for their business if you do not pass. I decided to change the driver school and found RITE-WAY. I called Eugen and told him that I booked a driver test and need some lesson before that. He squeezed me in his schedule. Right away I notice the difference between his school and the big driver school. He basically cares that you become a good driver and he gives his best to prepare you for the driver's test. It's his school and you really notice that he puts his heart into it. I also took some manual driver's lesson with Eugen. I also recommend to take those if you are interested to drive a manual car. I passed my driver's test thanks to Eugen and drive a manual Honda now.

Eugen taught me to be a safe and confident driver. He taught me step by step all the important basic skills and patiently let me build my driving competence and skills to a place where I was prepared for my road test. He was good at helping me assess where I was at in my learning and confidence and helped me slowly move to driving my own car with him and with other friends. At 36 years old, I was definitely an older learner and it took me four attempts to get my class 7 license because of how my nerves got in the way every time I took the test. Wow, is Sharma Singh really part of your driving instructor team? Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to think your school is great from my experience with the in class lessons, Sharma Singh makes the entire school look bad single-highhandedly. Whenever I made a slight mistake, he just yells as if I had committed a grave error. Given his anger-filled immature behaviour and constant yelling, I'm not sure if he genuinely enjoys teaching. I did not benefit AT ALL from his instruction and I had a terrible time with him. He swore, insulted, degraded and yelled at me throughout the lessons which I find very discouraging, disrespectful and unprofessional. To anyone who's looking to sign up with this school, find an instructor who is actually competent (it seems like both Ali and Jamal are good options) and DO NOT pick Sharma Singh. If you are assigned to be his student, ask for another instructor ASAP!

I had only a few lessons with Eugene and he was the reason why I passed my N test first try. He is extremely good at communicating what you need to do and keeping you calm while on the road.

Being an adult learner and having very little experience with driving, I was extremely nervous about my driving skills. Eugen was able to help me understand the concepts and skills using various methods of teaching. For example, he would use interactive pictures and graphs in addition to hands-on practice. He also gave me useful hand-outs for parking that were very useful. Eugen always arrive on time for my lessons and he is always prepared. I came to British Columbia from Russia 2 years ago and I needed to convert my overseas licence to Canadian. Because of the flexibility of lessons, areas where I needed improvement were focused on and needed corrections to driving styles or habits were made. In addition to explaining the how–the steps of driving actions, Eugene also explains the why–the purpose of these actions. He taught my daughter pretty much everything that's on the course, however it is done in the car. Much easier to apply your knowledge as you are driving. Hey I just want to let you all know that if you're going with this school, don't pick Sharma Singh to be your driver. His childish behavior is unhelpful as he will just yell at you every 20 seconds and call your driving [an explicit word] when you make a mistake. Even actual children have a better temperament than this sad man. I thought a driving instructor is supposed to INSTRUCT you, not be rude and discouraging. I had a horrible time with this "instructor" and I wish I went with a different instructor or even another school.

I agree with everybody about Ali. My experience is that he was very professional and very patient. He was punctual and was never late. He's the best instructor I had. He never cheated on my time and I got the full amount of time I paid for. I had driving lesson from two different schools before Ali and one was extremely unprofessional and tried to double charge me. And the other one thought it's ok to charge for full hour for 45 mins lesson. When I confronted him about it, he said I should not expect for full hour because it is well accepted practice in the industry. Thanks to Ali, I passed my G2 test. When I first started to drive, I found a private instructor who would teach me how to drive. After three lessons, it seemed like I didn't learn anything. So, I went onto Google to try and find another instructor. Soon enough, I found RITE-WAY driving. I called them up, and asked when they were available, and they let me know right away when they were available, and set up a lesson in no time. There was a lady instructor today at around 9:25am today on July 24, 2019 on Albion Road and Bridle Path who was very careless with her student. Just before stopping at that intersection, the student wasn’t driving very well, swerving left and right and I could tell that the student and instructor were only chit-chanting rather than teaching the student to drive carefully in between the lines and the road was a max of 80 student was driving at 50 or even less. Then stopped at a stop sign, and the instructor saw either a friend or who ever and decided to chit chat more with someone she saw outside on the side walk. This is unprofessional and she either needs to get her job right or leave. I understand new students learning to drive, but I do not remember my own instructor back in the days doing any of this non sense! Very unprofessional and will not recommend my kids in the future to take classes with this company.

Theory instructors is good. the problem the practical ones is very moody and they tend to do 2 hours session to get rid the student quickly. and they try to enforce the students on the trainer schedule which is not usual in driving schools.

As someone suffering from PTSD, driving has always been a trigger for my anxiety, I tried lessons through ICBC's young drivers program but failed to pass the road test because I was so anxious. Eugen worked with me to hone my skills and to calm me down so that I felt confident enough to perform under pressure. He was very accommodating, going the extra mile to make me feel ready and work around my busy schedule. His rates are also very competitive, which helps when you have tuition to pay for. Thank you for such a positive experience ???????? Eugen was patient, calm and very knowledgeable! His car was clean and reliable. He arrived on time, every time! Our daughter practiced driving for a year in all weather conditions and times of day. She felt ready to take the “N” drivers test. Just before her test date (Aug 2019), we gave her a professional driving lesson with RiteWay Driving School as a confirmation for all of us that she was ready for the driving exam. Our daughter said that Eugen was very easy to talk too. She also said that she felt it was an informative lesson and that she wished she had taken more lessons prior to her test date. I quickly called Eugen (very good response time) and he said he was completely booked for the next week. Our luck he had a cancellation the next day and we quickly accepted. Our daughter passed her driving test (the 1st time) and now has her “N”. She feels more confident driving now that she has taken a few lessons with Eugen. Our advice ... anyone thinking of taking driving lessons ... take them with RiteWay! GO FOR IT!! You will never regret it! We highly recommend Eugen and RiteWay Driving School. 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I needed my N for work and i decided to go with Rite-way. I had never driven before (as a 30 year old) Amazing! The way Eugen goes about teaching and explaining lessons is something i have never come accross. I took 8 lessons over 2 months and passed my road test the first time with his instructions. He breaks down every maneuver in parts so you can understand and feel every movement of the vehicle. I recommend him to ANYONE looking for beginner or even a refresher lesson.

Horrible! I wouldn't give this driving school even a 1 start considering the false information they provided to me when I called to ask about their beginner driver education course for my daughter. They had told me that my daughter would be able to attain a certificate for the program and be eligible for an insurance discount. It turns out this school has been revoked from providing a Ministry-approved course! I called the Ministry after finding this information and they have confirmed they are no longer approved by the Ministry. Do not believe these scammers and avoid this school at all costs!!

How did Sharma Singh get a job as a driving instructor? I'm reading reviews of the people who've had him as a driving instructor and honestly, those reviews were correct. He is the definition of a waste man and a bad teacher; he makes the worst professors at my school look like experts. This "instructor" ruins the image of good driving instructors and Sharma should no longer teach! Terrible driving instructor and terrible person. Would rather ride a bike my whole life then get "taught" by this absolute incompetent idiot. Basically, he just yells and gets angry whenever you make a mistake. Um hello? You should be polite and give me suggestions on how to improve my driving. Instead, this absolute moron loses his temper and makes learning an unenjoyable experience. Every day just seemed like a waste of time with no progress being made. Furthermore, this man should take anger management classes so he can stop being acting like a pathetic, arrogant child. I can't believe a person like him exists. If Riteway is to succeed as a school which it seems like it is, it needs to weed out low quality "instructors" like Sharma.

The most calming and comfortable driving experience. Helps you learn all the tools you need for safe driving without added pressure. Uses helpful diagrams for visual learners. And very reassuring come test time. Helps focus on what’s key for the test you are preparing for and informs of what’s to be expected. I am very pleased with the staff at Rite Way Driving School in Ottawa especially with my instructor Ali. Ali is very professional in what he does and took the time to fully explain the rules of the road while driving with me. He is very patient and fully explained any driving mistakes that I have committed so I can learn from them. While driving with Ali I could see and feel my confidence growing behind the wheel from week to week.
