Ive been riding all my life on dirt bikes and had a street bike years ago , I recently purchased a harley and wanted to take this course. in the week I was there I learned so many different riding skills that I never knew , Mike was very Knowledgeable and ran a great course. Im a more confident rider because of it and I ride like a pro ???? thanks Mike. I strongly suggest in taking this course if you want to be a better more confident 2 wheel rider,

To be able to get this training was one of my best decision. Instructor Mike was excellent with 2 decade of experience and taught in detail which makes a massive difference in motorcycle skills. I finished this course with relaxed riding confidence. The training will prevent injury, accident, death, stupidity and medical bills (just my opinion). As I am a owner of 2 small business. I am very picky and he comes highly recommended.

I recently took the “Start Right Motorcycle Course”, that included everything. I didn’t feel I needed the “big” course, as I rode for years (decades ago), but decided to take it as my wife is a new rider…and I wanted to take it with her! I actually thought I might be bored through parts of it! Boy was I wrong! I learned tons in this class. I also learned that though I felt I knew what I was doing years ago…I really didn’t know the right way, or the safety aspects, etc. There was so much to learn that I didn’t consider before…I left feeling that it was the best money we could have spent…and that it just may save our lives! Mike is a great instructor…I say this with confidence…as I spent 15 years as a training leader for a major oil company where we trained people to instruct others. Mike’s got it! His classes are full of detail, hands on training, one on one if and when required. You won’t be bored. I gave 5 stars…..only because there wasn’t 10!

Exactly like the name says "Start Right", this training is a must for everyone getting on a motorcycle or who wants to master a skill test. Mike is an amazing instructor. I came with 0 experience. The second day I was riding my very first time. It took 4 days to go through the theory (where I learned many things on top of my 17 years car driving experience) and long practice sessions, but in the end I passed my skills test. This course is very well designed to work out each maneuver and in the right order. So start it right, book it in advance, as this guy is very busy! Thank you Mike!

Want to feel safe? Want an instructor who's honest? Hit up StartRight. Was really pleased with Mike - I learned how to ride a long time ago, but not from a professional. I wanted an ego check and Mike wasn't afraid to give it, but he gave it with a smile and genuinely useful feedback; within two days of on-course and on-road training, I felt more confident, my skills rapidly increased, and while I know I've a long way to go, I'm not nearly as sketchy as I felt when I started with working with Mike. Mike cares about people being safe and having fun at the same time - he's the best kind of teacher.

Michael is passionate about what he is teaching. Great training facilities, instruction, coaching/feed back. Should have taken the MSA course two years ago! Being ICBC certified allows Michael to evaluate your MST on site, which is a much better/safer facility than the Naniamo testing location. UPDATE: I finally passed my motorcycle road test on August 26th. This was my third attempt! Had I initially taken the "Motorcycle Skills Course" I am certain that I would have passed the road test the first time around! I highly recommend taking this course before the ICBC road test...

Getting off to a good start on anything is the key to success! Mikes training was so in-depth so knowledgeable and the way Mike talks and teaches is top notch! Mike speaks Clear,loud and makes sure your understanding during the entire process! Even when on the coarse he’s able to watch a group and can spot a challenge a rider may have even when you think he’s busy with another rider! Suddenly he appears walks you off and gives you advice or will train you to correct the issue! The school is clean smells nice bright and very welcoming!. Please if you need training GO SEE MIKE! He was so accommodating with my hectic schedule which made it possible for me to take the course. Professional, clean, and mostly FUN! Amazing training!! Mike is very patient with every student and helps you overcome your obstacles, by giving excellent instruction and works individually with each student to help you succeed. The classes are very thorough and he keeps you interested with all the important information that he gives. He welcomes questions and answers each one with thorough answers. I had been through another local riding school previously which is not even comparable to the Excellent training I received with Start Right Motorcycle Training. Mike helped me develop skills that will keep me safe while riding on the road and the training facility is clean and organized.Knowing that I can bring my bike and practice on the course to build my confidence is also a huge plus!! Came to the course with experience dirt bike riding but still learned plenty. Had a great time, Mike is a very good teacher and his facility is nicely setup. Highly recommend if you are on the fence go for it.

He is a very nice instructor who spots who needs help in what area and immediately helps! He spends the perfect amount of time with each student and makes sure you leave driving safer than you ever did coming in. I would highly recommend start right motorcycle training to anybody getting into riding! Mike is a super rad guy and offers a fun, safe and professional program for any skill level of rider. another great thing is you practice on his course in the parking lot and you get to take your parking lot test right there with him on the exact course you've been training on, no need to go to ICBC. At the end of our 4 day course he takes everyone out for a casual ride and its great!

I highly recommend Start Right for motorcycle training: - Small class size. - Fantastic Instructor who is also able to conduct your ICBC Skills test with completion of the appropriate training course. This removes the Supervisor and speed restriction from your Learners. Depending on your course, it may also include Traffic and Road test prep, and also use of bike to take your road test! - Spacious and well set up practice area. I was an absolute beginner and was so nervous...but Mike got me through it and I learned so much about keeping myself safe out there! Thanks Mike, this was the BEST use of my money! To anyone wanting to ride, make sure you set aside money for good training and gear....this school is awesome and will get you on your way!!

I have always wanted to ride a motorcycle but I never got a chance until this year. Mike was amazing from the beginning to the end. He answered all my questions before the course and was super quick to reply to my messages. The first day I was terrified. Although I have been a passenger many times, I had NO idea what I was doing. I didn't even know where the ignition was or where the gears were. I was the only person in my class who never rode before. I honestly didn't think I would make it and pass but Mike was so patient, helpful and kind. The classes were so informative and very helpful (to someone who had NO idea). I dropped the bike numerous times and Mike encouraged me to keep going. I couldn't' imagine riding without lessons, ever! If you are wanting to learn how to ride a motorcycle I highly recommend Mike. He is efficient and comprehensive. I came into the lessons nervous having never driven anything with a clutch before and Mike could easily read when I needed a little extra encouragement or a bit of a kick in the butt. By the time the skills test came around I felt fully prepared.

I showed up to the course after having purchased a bike and ridden a couple of times. I had gotten somewhat comfortable prior to arriving on the first day of course and by the end of the course I still learned a lot. Mike takes the time to ensure everyone is learning and is improving their skills. You can tell he is passionate about sharing his love of motorcycles with others and making sure they’re safe on the road. It’s unfortunate that some individuals failed the Skills Test at the end and had to come back another day to re-test, but it goes to show that he won’t put you on the road if you aren’t safe and ready for it! He really cares about putting safe motorcyclists on the road. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in starting out riding. This not only gave me the skills and more confidence to get out on the roads, I feel it’s made me a better driver overall. The small class size allows him to focus more time on each individual rider and their own skill level. You won’t regret attending this course!
