the trainers know exactly what they are doing and is very patient and explain every step over and over again when it is needed. In my case i contacted them about 2 weeks before my test and had a session with them almost everyday for the whole 2 weeks , some times more than one hour when the time permits it, (i had driven before back in my home country but i was in a really bad shape) and YAY!! i got my licence in the first try. Its an easy thing, you just have follow all the instructions the trainer gives to the dot. I had douts about their methods when i first started as i had never heard about those techniques but when you really start getting the hang of it you know those really helps a lot!! so yeah i highly recommend them!

Don't be deceived by the 5 star ratings you see because they are forced reviews requested by the trainer. I have decided to edit my initial positive review because I feel I am misleading the people reading this. The overwhelming positive reviews on this academy does not equal the level of training you get. First of all its a family business not an actual school, so when they decide to travel or are busy with their personal life, you are on your own. This is what happened to me when it was time for my second road test and the trainer said he won't be around to take me there because he was in Toronto with his wife. Had to seek another school to help me with it. And I would say the other person from the other school that was sent to train me for the test was better in my opinion. He kept telling that I am a very good driver and kept assuring me even after I failed. This couple know knows a little about driving rules okay. If that's all you're looking for good, but you're looking for motivation and don't want to be nervous on the exam, try somewhere else.

The road test for a Canadian licence is tough. And it is not because it will measure if you are a good driver or not, but because it measures a lot of useless details that we do not use in practice, and some are even dangerous in my opinion. So, if you are a first time driver trained since your 16 years old to pass this exam, you may not have a lots of difficulties. But, if you are a experienced driver, with many habits (some bad, but some practical habits that makes driving better), you will probably have a hard time with the exam. It was my case, as an immigrant. I drive for 12 years, safely, and I have never been at a car incident. But these details were getting me every time. So I took the class with the pro active driving academy, and the instructor taught me what exactly they were looking at the exam. He showed me all the areas where they were going to test me, and what they were expecting me to do. I argued that, sometimes, it was not making sense in the practice, buy he oriented me that, after the exam, yes, i can drive the practical way. Although, for the exam, I needed to do their way. So he was fixing every little detail that they were expecting me to do, such as count until 3 at every stop, wait for the exact time to accelerate, the distance expected to establish on turns, when they were expecting to signal, brake, and many, many more details. I was approved with a clear exam, without critical errors and without minors following what he taught me. God has blessed me with no gray areas into the exam, of course, because it is really hard not to get a minor or two. So, I really recommend it. If you are having issues with the exams, maybe mad with the examiners, and want to know what do they expect, if it makes sense or not, give pro active a try!

I passed the first time. Gurb is an amazing teacher, he gave me all the lessons I needed, very calm and pointed out my mistakes politely. On the first day, he gave me 30 mins to drive and assessed my driving skills. I had to unlearn the Indian way of driving and learn the Canadian way. During my Initial classes he just talks about your driving, later I noticed that he has a general conversation with the student to see if the student is still able to concentrate on the driving. I took classes during July and August, but as extra care he gives tips for winter, that helps a lot. He personalizes the course so that you can concentrate on your mistakes, he also appreciates your good things while driving. This way student knows what is right and what is wrong. I recommend ProActive Driving Academy for those who want to learn the right way.

I was so upset for failing on two road tests that I was almost giving up from my driver's licence. I changed my mind when I found Proactive which was recommended by my friend, who had driver lessons with Manpreet. When I first met Gurb he taught me this test you also need to be mentally prepared. Any type of stress or rush might affect your performance on the road test. I have never been scared of driving, but driving on winter is a bit different.. you need to be careful and good preparation makes a difference. He prepared me so well, with a bunch of good tips and tricks for driving in general, not only for the road test. Gurb also prepared me mentally, how to keep calm during the test which I consider is the most important skill for you to get your driver's licence! Besides that, another good important thing that made all the differece Gurb is very patient! When I made a mistake, instead of he complain or yell at me, he always have been saying "don't worry, we will fix that!". We always came on my weakenesses until I get them done perfectly! So if you are looking for a really good driving instructor, you should consider Proactive. You will probably have a really good experience and I am pretty sure they will totally prepare you not only for the road test, but driving in your life!

I had my beginners for 25 years and went from being terrified to drive a straight rode to passing my test the first time. I feel like a competent good driver. I had both Gurb and Manpreet teach me. They both are very patient and kind. They give you all the skills needed to pass the road test and be a safe driver and defensive driver. I was so nervous to learn to drive but they are relaxed and excellent teachers. From the time I decided I needed to learn to drive and when I took my test was 12 weeks. I had to start in a parking lot learning how to steer so this is a huge accomplishment. I would recommend them to everyone. I will be sending my children to learn from them as well.

Gurb is the best driving instructor in the city hands down, the kindest, clearest instructing and most expierenced driver I have had the pleasure of being in the car with. It took me a couple times to get past the parallel parking because of anxiety from the test itself but I stuck with Gurbs method and I passed with 0/10 errors! Everything he teaches is exactly what they want to see on the road test. Very accommodating and always worked hard to work with my schedule which is not a very easy task with how hard it has been to get road tests with MPI this year, I can not only say that Pro Active is one of the best teachers ive had in any subject of life but they build your confidence immensely. It has been sincerely a great expierence, I truly appreciate and will carry the lessons Gurb has taught me throughout my life as a driver. Honestly, if you are looking for a good driving instructor that will not only assist you with all the technical stuff but also calm your nerves this academy is for you. I've failed so many times because of my nerves and lack of basic fundamentals and Gurb was able to recognize and fix it within the first 2 hr lesson. Then he gave me tips and methods to not only pass the test but to drive safely as well which I will definitely imprint it in my brain. I paid 3 different schools and none of them was able to help me like Gurb did. So don't waste your money anywhere else. I don't usually write reviews but I've just passed my test and I don't want anyone to waste money anywhere else. Thank you Proactive Academy! Best teacher ever!!!

I have been driving professionally in New Zealand including commercial vehicles for 30+ years . When coming to Canada to sit my Canadian licence it was a very different story. I struggled to get a good understanding of the different technical expectations of the Canadian driving rules. So I called ProActive and booked in some lessons ( my best decision that week). I did some driving with both Gurb and Manpeet and they were both brilliant and very patient. Because I could already drive competently it was more about the style of driving here and they were happy to sit and discuss and talk me through the expectations of the driving test as well as making sure I could put the finer details into practice . Kudos to ProActive Driving Academy. Top notch driving academy and driving instructors. My son had a road test booked for Monday, November 16, 2020 and was all set to go. However at the last minute, November 9, 2020, the driving instructor he was with, informed my son that he would no longer be available until the end of the month for November and that he would have to find someone else!!!! Incredible as booked road tests are like gold right now during Covid. We did a google search for driving academies and ProActive Driving was came up and had a 5 star rating. I called and spoke with Gurb was very accommodating and my son was then booked for a few driving lessons to practice before his road test. My son passed his road test on his first try and literally completed is parallel parking in 30 seconds as a result of the unbelievable training technique he received. ProActive Driving Academy gets a 5++++ rating from us.
