I had a bad situation on the first day of class. I was told to go to huron college and by mistake i ended up at this western driver school on dufferin ave in downtown. I took the Full Course which included both in-class Driver's Ed and in-vehicle driving with a licensed instructor. The in-class was easygoing and we learned everything that we needed to be prepared for the roads. Nothing too stressful. The in-vehicle lessons built up my confidence in driving and taught me the proper way to parallel park, reverse, etc. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend it to others!

I live a very busy day to day life and needed to book a G practice road test with an instructor the same day. The receptionist set up an appointment to meet with driver Basil in an hour at the Drive Test Centre. Basil was very helpful and immediately pointed out mistakes I made and ways to improve it and how it would effect the test. I will always recommend this location! They treat you as people and not a dollar sign. I only did 1 hour with Basil and today I passed my G road test! Thanks Basil!

Everyone here is super friendly and cooperative. The receptionist is very friendly and so easy to talk to. The in class theory lessons were very exhausting but Isaac made it fun. I had missed the first class but he helped me catch up. My in car instructor was Ray and he was also super cooperative and calm. I was very scared of being on the road and had very low confidence, but Ray remained very patient. He has a very relaxed approach to teaching. He won't overwhelm you with information and will let you develop your own technique. He made things look way easier than they actually were which helped boost my confidence. His laid back approach was very much in contrast with my husband's approach who used to throw a lot of information at me while I was on the road during practice sessions. I guess, in the end I benefitted from both approaches as I applied a combination of these two techniques on my road test and passed on my first attempt. A minor issue I had was with the way my last few lessons were scheduled. But I reached out to Ray and he resolved it immediately. Bottom line: get as much practice as you can, watch driving videos on youtube, communicate any issue you have directly to the instructor and observe other people's driving style.

Amazing instructors! I chose the G test package, and it included a 45 minute review of everything prior to the test. The instructor, Seigfried, taught me everything I needed to know in less than an hour, in an efficient and fun manner. He was better than any other professional driving instructor I’ve ever had. He treated me like we we’re great friends already, and he made me feel relaxed and at ease throughout the whole process. I passed, and I would honestly not mind taking the G test again if I had to, provided I have Seigfried guide me before hand. It was the most fun test I’ve ever taken. Thank you for making me a better driver, Western Driving Academy!

My in-class instructor was Rhod McCormick, and he was great!! Very funny teacher who is enthusiastic, also professional, yet getting deep into the fundamentals of driving. He knows how to teach, and he knows what he's doing very well. He gave out some snacks in class which was a bonus! I also came in couple times to drive manual on a simulator because no instructors' vehicles were manual. It was basic, but good enough to get you the fundamentals of driving a manual. As for the driving instructors, it's a mixed bag. I've had 3 instructors with a total of I want to say around 20 hours of in-car lessons. Zia (not present in WDA anymore) was a great instructor. He taught me for about 10 hours and he knew what he was teaching. He was quick to intervene if I did something wrong, and he was very friendly. My second instructor was Waseem and he was a very good instructor as well. Gave good, clear instructions and he is very organized as well.With his instructions, I was able to pass G1 Road Test without a problem. My third and final instructor was Jessica who was fairly new to teaching. She wasn't as clear as other instructors but she was still able to point out any thing I was doing wrong, and she was very flexible with what I wanted to do during lessons, so I liked that. In the end, I was able to pass my G2 Road Test with her, so all went was good. My only problem is with in-class instructors, it could take a little bit to find an available instructor because they're all booked. Even when you do find an instructor, you have to set up lessons with them directly, so if they don't respond as frequently, then you're left stranded until they do respond. I don't think it's a clear system that works well. It's a confusing mess of finding an instructor and setting up a lesson time.

In class lessons were fun and interesting with Isaac and Ray. The classroom was a nice and comfortable environment. I had Ayman as my in car instructor and he did an amazing job. He was very informative and taught me everything I needed to know about driving safe and passing my G2 test. Ayman was also really flexible on time. I wanted to get through my 10 hours as quickly as possible and we were able to finish them in under 2 weeks. Thanks to Ayman’s help, I was able to pass my G2 test on my first try. Overall, I had a great experience with western driving and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Super accommodating driving school! I was a month away from my G2 expiring and needed to get my G asap, so I decided to take some lessons as a prep before the test. Corresponded by text with whoever was in charge of setting up the lessons, and they always answered quickly and efficiently, around the clock! I was able to get same-day lessons from when I asked for them, and had the opportunity to work with 3 terrific instructors. They helped me feel much more prepared than I did prior to the lessons, and I am proud to say that I just passed my G test today! Definitely recommend them :)

I've got to be honest: this is a school to go to 'get your driver's ed done' and that's it. I passed, but was extremely disappointed by the instructors and the content. Although the office is nicely laid-out and the workbook they use is colorful and seemingly engaging, the delivery of the content was totally inferior. I had two instructors. One was more interested in talking about the benefits of marijuana to us, and explaining (at quite some length) his perspectives on why it should be legalized, rather than actually providing any kind of quality instruction about the rules of the road. The other simply gave us the answers to the homelinks work we were supposed to do ourselves and was rude, impatient and unfriendly. The content was haphazardly delivered - we would jump from idea to idea and would be asked to open our workbook, record information blindly from the powerpoint, and then close our books immediately, without actually going over the concept. We are handed nearly half our marks out of 100 for participation (everybody gets 15/15) and whether or not we did the 30 pages of homework (automatic 30/30 - everybody beside me wrote garbage answers, and this was not checked, corrected, taken up or discussed. Three of the people at my table just showed the instructor the front of the book, and he gave them 30/30 without even looking to see if the work was done). This is definitely a school for slackers who want to show up and do nothing and still do well. Because of the poorly implemented curriculum, I felt I needed to spend hours and hours outside of class familiarizing myself with the basic rules of the road myself. Many times I would ask my parents or friends driving beside me a question and they would ask me, 'didn't they teach you that in driver's ed?" My answer, always, was no. WDA as a whole seems to be much more concerned with appearance and flashiness than substance. I think they spent a good amount of time at the beginning developing high quality workbooks, PPTs and curriculum that I am sure meets the standards, and then just mentally checked out, hiring sub-par instructors to implement the content. You'll learn nothing, but you'll get your license. Whether you're OK with that is up to you

The in class instructor was ridiculous and I actually filled a complain against him. He was teaching the driving class at Huron college and was basically teaching as if he is teaching 2 year olds. Giving stickers, having the class say out loud "I will not have a head on collision". Also, he would Jeep on talking about his personal life, which I didn't really care for since I was paying $1000 for the course. The driving instructor waseem was great.

My instructor, Ray, was very accommodating to lesson scheduling and was very calm and concise when giving instructions in the vehicle. It was very convenient that he could pick me up and drop me off at my house as well. Overall, Ray is a nice guy and could answer pretty much any question I threw at him!

Good school. Don't know many people who look forward to 20 hours of driving class, but it was as good as could be expected, and informative, though I will say that I don't think the instructor pushed the lazier students hard enough. I'm still giving five star because he was very respectful of my religious convictions. My in-car instructor was extremely friendly and gave me very useful tips that helped me pass my test, but just a tip—maybe he should clean his car.

From what I have experienced from Western Driving Academy is more then stellar. From the in class lessons, to the in car sessions all the time spent to obtain my G1 and now my G2 was worth every penny. This company has a car that the passenger foot brake control was frayed and unsafe ( a device that is intended to be used so instructor can stop car too ) . I suggested not using this vehicle to teach with but was ignored ( had to hurry to next appointment to educate a new driver ). The instructor was rude and impatient thus I feel maybe his lessons may be run the same way ???? Maybe the cars are maintained the same way ??? A good lesson in driving ( for future motorists ) would maybe be to bring a student down to the shop and include them in the correct thinking about car safety , the competent ownership and the care for a car including concern for its passengers and others on the road. I have not taken a lesson though . Good drivers are absolutely necessary and I hope this gentleman takes this comment constructively and can educate even better with these thoughts.

Heads up people. If you call western driving academy and a guy answers hang up! You probably called the wrong school. i found out the hard way. i took on e lesson with this other school that is using a similar name and it was the worst experience. I took a couple of lessons with western driving academy and passed my test first try. All the negative comments on here are most likely about the other school.

I had a positive experience with my instructor (Ayman) while prepping for G road test. He coached me following the actual testing standards and I passed on my first attempt. He was patient and explained why each steps I got wrong was important. I was able to mentally grade myself during the actual road test. I strongly recommend Ayman and Western Driving Academy

I did driving lessons for the "G" road test with Ayman. He was a great instructor! I would definitely recommend him. First of all he is a really nice person. He is also very attentive to the details of your driving, as much as an examiner would be during the test. And he is completely honest with you about your skills. He is not interested in giving classes if he feels you don't need them. His insights during the lessons helped me to be relaxed during the test because I could actually hear him saying what I needed to do to pass it. The training sessions driving on the possibles routes is also amazing. I am 100% satisfied with the investment of time and money on the sessions. absolutely worth it.

When I think about how I would have driven if I hadn't taken this course, it scares me. This is because of how many useful and applicable driving strategies were taught to me in class and by my driving instructor. There's no comparing a new driver who's taken this course and those who have not. I left this course fully prepared to drive responsibly and stress free. I highly recommend it. Your investing in everybody's safety. I don't want uneducated delinquents on the road and neither should you lol.

For someone that has never driven in this city i was very nervous to do my g test so i booked a refresher course to get used to the city. I had Ray as my instructor. By far the best driving instructor i have had in the past.
