I absolutely loved my time at NATS as a recent grad of the welding program and having never done welding once my entire life before taking the program, I can honestly say I am entering my new career with the confidence knowing I was taught what I need to know to be successful in my new career. The tuition seems daunting however, you get everything you need to start your new career my entire tool box loaded with gear as well as your helmet and jacket only thing I bought was my prescription safety glasses. OSAP covered my entire tuition plus a generous amount for living expense. I was a line cook previously and going into welding was the best descision I have made my entire life.

This is long i know, but if you really want to know what this school is like please read on... :) My experience with this school... This school changed my life.. It changed how I interact with people.. It changed how I adult... This past year has been one of many struggles and changes and adventures.. I have had to restart my life, and was laid off from my job at the worst possible time. Trades was always something I wanted to have a career in. Since being laid off gave me a lot of spare time, I decided to look into school. Now I have a daughter, and an ex husband, and so full time school was a very tricky option for me. I needed something with flexible hours, where I could still work, and not kill myself trying to keep up in school. North American Trades School was the perfect fit. I walk in there to the friendliest staff I have ever seen at a college. They want to talk to you, they want to aid you in your quest for knowledge. I meet Guy. Guy showed me the school, he was very knowledgeable about the process. He didn't even flinch when I said I wanted to take the electrical course (I'm a girl). He introduced me to the osap lady and the electrical professor Mr. Richard Swan. I felt like I had instantly found my saving grace. This school made me so comfortable. The students there were all in the same boat as me. People trying to pick up their lives, people in second career situations. The teacher I had was amazing. He was patient, he was very supportive. He gave me a voice. My opinion mattered. He gave me courage when I didn't have it. I almost quit school at one time and didn't because of my teacher. The director of the school helped me to open up and be myself. I was voted in as ambassador for my class (like a student council) and Amanda gave me the support to make school fun for everyone. We planned lunches and casual days and just created fun for the students. Overall, I can say this school helped me find a career and a family. I made friendships with people I never thought I'd ever talk to. You just never know a person's story until you give a little interest.

terrible experience here actually as a matter of fact I was scammed by the facility when I made payments towards my program they claimed I owed more money than I did so I looked at receipts as I made a payment on debit and another payment by cash turns out they "never" got the payment for cash and proceeded to incline I was a liar about the payment which resulted in my program being ruined and not getting finished as I was told I may not continue my education there and that being said has ruined my student loan as I am still working to pay off a loan that I ended up with because of a fraud

I strongly recommend NATS. I am currently taking the Home Renovation Technician program and it's fantastic.

I am just a few weeks away from graduating from the North American Trade School (NATS) . It has been quite an adventure on these 55 weeks in the HVAC program. Being a mature student with a full time job and a large family I found that the instructors made it quite easy for me to follow along. The moment I didn't understand or had trouble solving a problem the instructors were there to help and guide me in the right direction. The environment is friendly, helpful and a GREAT tool for networking into the field of study. School is EXACTLY what you make of it. And the same goes for NATS. If you want something you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse,

The osap help desk is extremely helpful! 11/10 stars. The current teacher for CME(construction maintenance electrician) is a really great guy and has a good sense of humour and I would highly recommend going into it.

Dana Spinney

I am a graduate from NATS. Honestly this was the best experience of schooling I have had. Everybody is very sincere and willing to help from schoolwork to accommodation to help you make it all work. I would most definitely suggest a friend to attend this school

Kyle

Just graduated from the CME program. Lucky for us we were taught by a man who had 50 years of experience in the field. The things we have learned from wiring up three ways to bending conduit. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the electrical field, now I'm walking out confident about wiring anything and reading rules from the CEC. Richard Swan also known as Swanny was an amazing instructor.

Orville Smith

The best trade learning institution in North America. Where learning is easy because of their dedicated instructors and staffing. Great place.

Steph Walter

An amazing hands on school always able to help with all my questions

Currently I am Enrolled in the Welding program, and honestly it's a blast, I've never had an interest in anything, but this has taken my entire life and flipped it. I love everyday that im there, it feels more like a job to me then it does schooling, you go in, do your welds, and you go home. Simple as that, The work is FAR from overwhelming, the community is small enough that you most likely are not going to have issues or even a disagreement with others. The Staff and employee's have actual respect for you unlike most places and see your true potential in life. If Anyone is struggling finding there position in life, having troubles with there current career and want to switch, or maybe you just love everything about a trade, this place in my opinion at least is the place for you. Don't expect by the book hand holding assignments, you learn at your own pace, and each assignment you're givin more then enough time to complete. 5 Stars all the way, I hope this review helps someone make up there mind!

Been here a couple times now, and it just get worst everytime this most recent visit I did a couple cwb test and got cheated passed everything to find out that they took my test and gave it to someone else I can't prove it but I know what they did I over heard them talking that they'll switch the plates didn't think they actually do it but they did and now they want me to repay to take the test I already passed they even tried to get my boss's shop shut down there not good people here and I would be really careful and watchful what they do with your test. I can guarantee I'm not the only one they've done this to

Abraxos Kain

Do your research on this school... Most companies dont recognize north american trade as adequate schooling and trainining.they will push anybody through a course

Thomas Innes

Love my short time here so far, lots of hands on work which is exactly what you need to get ready for the workforce!

Mandy Erian

Needs some improvement

Michael MacLaren

Way to much money for very little knowledge gained. Entry level and you leave without an apprenticeship or even level one education. Save your money and find a company wanting to invest in your attitude and work ethic. Then get an apprenticeship. This private company prays on you being desperate and wanting to invest in yourself. Lastly, no union company acknowledges anything this company provides you with.

I would say the worst college and the worst teachers I ever had..I will never ever recommend this place to anyone

Adam Parker

currently attending the North American Trade School in London and have only had great experiences. The shop is always clean and uses real appliances so we can see and get familiar with them for future jobs. every teacher answers any question (regardless if you've already asked them 100 times already haha) and even shows you in detail any solution that may be causing the issue. they supplied me with all the resources and tools that i needed for piping, hooking up furnaces, diagnosing stoves and ovens - and as a bonus they teach a BUNCH of certificates that will make my resume pop (O-zone depletion prevention, working with heights, ward flex, gas tights - many more and they are always posting) If you're looking for a place where you can learn hands on in an environment filled with teachers who worked (and still work) in the field along with real equipment - i would highly recommend NATS

I attended North American trade school for one year; During this year I gained a great deal of skill and knowledge in HVAC program and that was possible because of professionalism attitude of the Staff. If you planned to learn a trade and get into the market as soon as possible. the North American trade school is the answer. John

i started up the cabinetmaking program near the end of febuary, since then ive already learned how to essentially build an entire kitchen, bookshelves, tables you name it. the program moves fast but if you show up and do your work its by far one of the most rewarding experiences you could have with an educational institute. Especially with the teacher kyran he is always there ti answer anything and has a way to solve just about any issue you might have. by far one of the most patient people ive ever had the experience of being around thats for sure! its a good time nuff said

Great instructors and back office staff. Great shop areas for practical applications. Very knowledgeable teachers that are always willing to help.

Amy Ives

Hands on learning experience for students going into the trades. And more time in shop learning the trade than in a classroom.

Enrolled in there weld program only because of the osap grants and wanting my high pressure tssa pipe for ontario and Alberta. First guy I talked to asked me what experienced I have and let him know I've been fitting and welding structural iron for past 12 years have my CWB all position SMAW FCAW/MCAW and flat GMAW tickets completed 990 hour weld program also 12 years ago. Teachers and program personal thought I would be bored with first part of the program so we agreed that they would fast track me through or set up something more complex for me. The clown that was program director before guy told me that because my one CWB ticket was expired I had to do a entire welding course again LMFAO they really think highly of people wanting to enroll there each position/process CWB ticket is roughly 150$ to do for recertification. That's all and that clown telling me I have to do entire course. He also told me That there diploma is the exact same as one from Fanshaw college and accepted as such. That's a lie. The only thing that a union or a employer will recognize from here is the CWB or TSSA tickets you obtain. They don't really care about the 50 hours you learned about how to plug in a welder and set up the leads. Also the equipment is no where near being top of the line or What ever it says on there website. The welding machines are anywhere from 20 to 30 years old and run to the ground. In a shop any good shop expect to use a machine that completely digital and cost anywhere from 5 to 15000$ for a welding machine. I suffered a heart attack 2 weeks before school start date and wasn't able to attend orientation but let the school know and I came in 3 days after. This we agreed on also and school started the following Tuesday. School has now got there money from osap. I have been recovering from a severally bruised sternum and ribs and walk to school. Tuesday I wasn't able to come because I couldnt handle the walk to school. I'm also on ontario works, Wednesday I showed up for 5 pm class and those two girls in the office had decided to cancel my education and osap money on me now because they said I missed the first day. The school told me that I missed several classes, but on my second day they cancelled my course. They also have shown by there actions and words they do not accept anyone wih a possible health inconvenience or faciliate for the student at all but deny you from all class evening in class where you just sit there. Just so everyone knows. This school has never told me about what happens if or what I should do If I can't make it in. I hsve the program director guys personal cell phone and friday before class started he never mentioned anything about how I go about school if I can't cone. He actually told me to rest up. These two moron women said they were calling me and left a message and emailed me. But they were calling Wrong numbers and wrong email address, amanda then blamed her boss for writing down my wrong info. But I have my copys of my paperwork from guy and he wrote everything correct. I emailed these papers to her N the vice president about this total disorganization and how this school is run. I can teach these students myself and I was made to feel stupid and not one ounce of caring thought for my education or the amount of money I wanted to spend there. Amanda and Gabrielle then tell me enrollment was to low and thats the reason they cancelled my class. Apparently they girls have no idea not only where to look for students paperwork containing there contact info but they also don't know when someone pays then 20 grand for to go there. They are complete fools and liars. Also the vice president and amanda said i can re enroll but they each gave me different dates spanning months apart from eac other saying there date was earliest for me and class to begin. I have shown all my paperwork to vice president amanda and guy at the school emailed them and text them several times to understand what the hell is happening and I haven't gotten one reply. Disgusting.

As a current student in the Cabinetmaking program I can only say that this is one of the best programs I've enrolled in. Not only is the school staff amazingly friendly and helpful, but the course instructor Kyran has got to be the best instructor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He clearly loves passing on his extensive knowledge in woodworking and encourages his students to take on bigger and more complex projects increasing the students skill level.....i highly recommend North American Trade Scholl and more specifically the Cabinetmaking program

Adam Garlick

Awesome!

The worst place anyone could go for education! First I asked if I needed an apprenticeship after the course, they said nope, my course covered that, all I need to do was take the exam. Liars! After a 2 months they said I still would need an apprenticeship after, but it could nock off 1 year, I figured o well I already started the course. I asked to take a week off because my wife was having our first baby, they said no problem!..... Until I was 65% finished my course. They called me into the office told me I missed too many days and I needed to come up with another $3500.00 out of pocket, (I was on OSAP). I said I couldn't afford that, they told me to return my books (which i had to pay for), my tools ( which I had to pay for). HERE IS THE KICKER, Because it's a private institution, after completing 65% You must pay the entire tuition... I LOST OVER $16,000.00!!!!!!! Take a lesson from me! DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY HERE! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!

Welding program is the beat way to go

hailey jennen

I called them to see when my husband would be back as they've given 0 insight as to when that may be as if as adults we are able to sit around for months just waiting to find out when they had several months at the start of the pandemic to figure out their plan but i suppose just decided not to. So i call after weeks of hearing nothing from them in terms of when he will be able to go back and finish, and i received an answer. which turned out to be a blatant lie. literal 4 year olds are able to go to school during a pandemic in 30+ student class rooms but you with your smaller class sizes and grown adults who are fully capable and aware of how social distancing works can't figure it out? oh right, you simply don't care because you've already collected the remaining tuition from these people you've placed on the back burner. they have no regard for their students and the fact that they are forcing them to put their lives on hold.

Enrolled in the HVAC program. Absolute worst place to go. Not professional at all. Would never ever recommend this school to anyone

School does not respond to students, I have waited a week for my professor to respond to me and still no response. If you call the school they say email your professor and it’s no help. For how much you pay for this school you don’t get much out of it don’t recommend! Not impressed

Hunter Johnson

Great school with amazing teachers and staff. It’s worth every penny I’ve ever spent.
