If you're looking for a good driving school, I highly recommend this one! I had Sabir uncle as my driving instructor for my G2 road test, and I thought his way of teaching was incredibly effective. Everything he taught was relevant to my road test and appeared during its duration. His lessons allowed me to feel comfortable and prepared for my G2, and I also want to note that I had absolutely NO driving experience prior to my lessons with him. In other words, he basically taught me from scratch. I passed my road test during first try, and it's all thanks to the easy to understand lessons I took, and how my nerves were constantly comforted during the actual day of the road test. Overall, I highly recommend!

I was an incredibly anxious driver and when I called the school and asked for a VERY patient driving instructor they referred me to Sabir Ahmed. From the first lesson to the last lesson he offered encouraging words and believed that I can do it. Sabir is very through in his lessons and prepared me for my G2 test. I went from knowing nothing about driving to now passing my G2 test today. I could of not done it without Sabir Uncle, he was flexible in working around my schedule as a working professional. He is THE BEST driving instructor I could of ever asked for. I highly recommend him and he will surely be my driving instructor for my G test.

I contacted Tariq a week before my test, although I contacted him super last minute, he was able to schedule me 8 hours of driving lessons as well as the use of his car on the day of the test. Tariq was very kind, patient, and an excellent teacher. I passed my test on the first try. I tried 2 other instructors (only did 1 or 2 lessons with them) and was not left satisfied. I learnt so much from Tariq in such a short amount of time, and taught me to be a safe and confident driver. Thank you, Tariq!!

Tariq is very patient and knowledgeable driving instructor. For a person with absolutely no idea about cars and driving, he really spent a lot of time and energy in teaching me to drive. The classroom session was really interesting and useful when it comes to learning the rules of the road. My in car lessons with Sabir were amazing! He was extremely helpful and provided tips and tricks to become a confident driver. Throughout the lessons he provided valuable advice for both everyday driving and the road test. Without his guidance I would have been a cautious driver with very little confidence behind the wheel. Sabir was an absolutely amazing instructor and I couldn't have gotten my license without him! I wish I could say that my overall experience with Standard was incredible, but it started out as disappointing. My in-class lessons and my first 3 hours of in-car lessons were with Abhi. The guidance from Abhi was the complete opposite of Sabir. He was extremely disorganized, was constantly late or a no-show, and provided very little driving advice to make me feel capable of driving on my own. After my 3 hours of in-car lessons Abhi refused to continue lessons with me and I was required to get in contact with the school for a new instructor. Tariq was very helpful and organized with getting me a new instructor. Once I received Sabir as an instructor my experience with Standard was much better! I highly recommend learning to drive with Sabir!

My test was fast approaching and I only had 2 weeks to prepare for it. I had previous driving experience from other country, so my biggest struggle was remembering canadian laws. I just passed my g2 test this morning thanks to Sabir! From the very beginning he treated me like his daughter and was very encouraging. Besides him being a great teacher, before my test he had me drive around the Drive Test centre in Oshawa where the examiner would possibly take me for my test so I know what to expect which was very helpful. My first time ever driving a car was during my first driving lesson with Sabir Ahmed. I went from being really nervous during my first lesson to feeling confident and in control of the car. Due to his patience, friendliness and calm tone, I received my G2 on my first attempt! He taught me to be a cautious driver no matter how much of a rush the cars around me were in. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was not only comfortable, but was satisfied with each lesson. His lessons are very affordable, flexible and geared towards your learning. I couldn't even understand the driving instructor (Yasin) he had a strong accent, so I couldn't even understand him half of the time. He never give me any trick/tips only if I asked him. For anyone who is completely new to driving do not apply there. Not beginner friendly because they expect you to have some a bit of driving experience first which is ridiculous.

Both the in-class lessons and driving lessons were very helpful for me. Although it took a lot of extra hours for me to finally get used to driving, my driving instructor, Sabir, made an effort to come through and help me better prepare for my g2 test (which I passed on the first try!). Thanks to Tariq, I passed my G2 on my first try! Who ever is reading this review comment, I would highly advice for you to go to this driving school. Tariq was very patient and taught me how to drive safely in the road. I’ve notice that when Tariq says he was coming at 11 am for instance, he will be there on time and if he was a little late, he Let’s me know. Unlike the other driving school I went (Eric driving Academy, located in Pickering village), who was unprofessional and doesn’t teach properly, Tariq on the other hand was professional and teaches properly. I would like to thank Tariq for his tremendous patience to me and I would 100% would recommend anyone to go to this driving school.

I passed my G road test in my first attempt on Dec 8th 2020 after taking almost 10 one hours classes and all credit goes to my instructor Sir Sabir. He easily caught my weak points and kept focusing on them till I got a good handle on it. He kept emphasizing on how every aspect needs to be attended to turn me into a knowledgeable and responsible driver. He shared real test taking examples of his other students and what did and did not work for them. My examiner was very strict and I am quite sure I would have failed without the prep and information I received during my in car classes. Thank you I am grateful!

Standard Academy of Driving is an amazing driving school. I learned everything about road rules, safety and how to be a safe driver. Tariq was my in-class instructor and he was awesome. He was funny, entertaining and was a great teacher. I learned a lot from him and those in-class lessons really helped me when it came time for me to start driving. My driving instructor Sabir Ahmed was just as amazing. He was very patient and calm. He helped me a lot when in came to driving on one way roads, parallel parking and 3 point turns. At first I wasn't very good and made a lot of mistakes, but with his guidance I was able to overcome those mistakes. I passed my G2 test first try in a place that had a lot of one way roads and it was thanks to Standard Driving Academy that I was able to pass. I highly recommend going to this driving school. If you follow their instructions you are guaranteed to pass road tests.

He also has a great sense of humor! He's never too serious. For the in car lessons I also had Tariq as the driving instructor. My experience with this school was not the best. The in class experience was okay. I learned what I had to and finished it in may 2018. The only reason I did drivers education was because I wanted to be able to get my g2 faster. I was eligible to test for my g2 in may. My driving instructor finally finished my lessons in July. I was available all the time so scheduling me for lessons was not an issue. I had to chase him for lessons, he wouldn’t return my calls or texts and would be very unhygienic in the car. A lot of the time, he would finish my lessons early or be on a phone call and answering texts during my lessons. I finally went for my g2 test in August. I would not recommend this driving school.

I had put off taking my G2 for over a decade and had failed the road test two times before getting a few lessons in from here. Tariq was my instructor for only 3 days and it was more than enough to polish up my skills and reteach me things I had forgotten that helped me pass the road test. He's given visual examples as well if he saw I was struggling to understand something. He's honest and says it like it is and has a good sense of humor. Definitely would recommend to new drivers of any age.

I highly recommend Mr Sabir for anyone that has struggled in the prior to pass their G2 road test. I had failed 3x my road tests previously at Port Union but this time around I tried Sabir and took 5 lessons with him he's a very calm instructor and does not yell at you if you make a mistake. He makes you feel confident. I felt very comfortable driving with him.This time around I chose to book my G2 road test in Oshawa as I've heard many good reviews of people passing more there over Port Union going to Oshawa is a bit more costly $150 (includes car + 1 hr lesson) over Port Union but I did it and had the confidence that I needed and had such a positive outcome I PASSED and it feels so great !!! I did a review of driving schools in the Ajax area using the web and asking questions. I called all school listed. Some persons responded to voice mail, I visited all locations because my daughter was a minor and I needed a safe environment. My daughter had no clue about driving, other than browsing the manual and sucess fully passing the G1 written test. She attended classes which she enjoyed, and now started to evaluate my driving. We selected the package. And spread classes over a 10 week period. Whatever she learnt, was practised that week using my car. Both her and Tariq decided when she was ready for the G1 road test. She sat the test and passed. I will allow her to do some winter driving lessons and G2 road test with this instructor. Highly recommend for all age groups.

However, picking this driving school was a prudent decision not only for cost but for good quality learning and confidence building. For the duration of my time, learned a great deal of knowledge and techniques when behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. The teacher was very enthusiastic and well-versed in the teaching he provided, and when it came to the in-car portion, he was very helpful and critical about what I did well in and how I can improve; even when I made mistakes he gladly corrected me and assured me that I would remedy them in due time. The Standard Academy of Driving provided me with an excellent opportunity to learn about driving which I was desperately looking for. Their service is incredibly helpful and their rates are affordable as well. The in-class work is taught very well, the class is engaging and does not drag on like any other mundane class, and the instructor, Tariq, provides many opportunities to ask questions regarding various aspects of driving, whether it be on or off-road. In addition, he was welcoming to all his students and, in general, an enjoyable instructor to learn from. Information needed is provided within a efficiently compact amount of time, which was convenient for me and those around me. The learning environment was comfortable and but not out of focus. When it came to driving, my instructor, Sabir, helped me incredibly, considering how I had never driven a car before. He was able to explain clearly, and calmly, the numerous characteristics of what's needed to physically drive, without being overwhelming. He ensures the safety and well-being of his students, and is considerate with his time, so as long as he is respected. He, too, was engaging to talk to and made driving lessons a more pleasurable and wonderful experience. inclass instructor had such a thick accent my son could only understand half of what was said. Inar lessons didnt even take him on major streets such as Harwood or Hwy 2. We had to chase down the instructor for each lesson having to make several repeat texts and never once spoke with the instructor live. Inclass was taken over the March break and and incar was not completed until mid-June. The main reason for taking the course wasto be able to obtain G2 after 8 months which my son was unable to do because incar took so long to complete. Not a complete waste of money but not worth the money either. With so many driver education out there I would definitely not recommend this one.

Very patient, very understanding, and taught me everything I needed to know to pass the driving test. I was very comfortable during the in-car lessons, and I felt that he would always do his best to make sure I was doing things appropriately. I would definitely not have passed without his tips for driving. On top of that he is very flexible with scheduling, and does his best to make it work for you. If I could offer less than 1 star I would, however that is not an option. The in class portion of the program is very good. However, the in car instruction is less than desirable. Jamal, the in car instructor has cancelled three times on me and my last appointment he arrived 20 minutes late and then remained on his cellphone for another 10 minutes regarding a personal matter. When I advised him he shorted me and that he still owes me 3 hours of in car instruction, he offered to forge the drivers certificate as completed so I could write my G2 and he would "save" the remaining sessions owed to me as a "refresher" for the G2. In all 7 hours of in car driving time not once did he take me on any major roads, all practice was done in residential areas. After asking for more road time on frequently traveled roads, he ignored my request and took me, again, into residential. I would *NOT* recommend this driving school.

Not recommended. If you join for 10 class package, these guys will make you feel that you need 20 classes. In my experience, that how they have charged each class after 10 classes till 20. Finally, I lost my confidence and got thru the test with the help of another driving instructor in Whitby.

Not really happy with the service of this company as the commitment and promise to obtain 10 in car lessons has been a struggle from the start. The in class lessons were fine but getting a hold of the driver has been a nightmare and when I call the main number to complain the receptionist refers me back to the driver and that I should talk to him. Please do not use this driving school unless u like problems. I would not recommend to anyone as my driver Jameel was good but really hard to get a hold of. We are at the 8th month and my son has not even completed his 10 lessons and we are approaching the 8 month mark.

Standard Academy of Driving School came as a blessing for me for my G2 test. I came from a new country where the driving direction is opposite to what it is in Canada and I was particularly nervous with that respect but the teachers at the academy were simply great in ensuring I came out a much better and confident driver at the end. I was taught initially by Sabir and then by Tariq. Both have different teaching styles but equally effective. I cleared my G2 test in the first try thanks to the road rules, driving style and awareness training made by the instructors. I recommend this school for all prospective learners. You will not only be ready for the test but for driving anywhere in Canada.
