This is a very good driving school and the price is very reasonable. I took it about a year ago. After 13 hours' practice on the road, I took the G2 road test with my instructor's car and passed it at the first time! Recently, I asked my instructor for one hour practice before my G test. The next day I took the G test and passed it again at the first time! The instructor--Adam--is very nice and responsible for his student! Highly recommend it!
I would totally recommend Joe's Driving School to any person who is learning to drive, or wants to brush up and/or prepare for a road test. I meticulously did my research and found that Joe's is the most professional and thorough school in the city. My driving instructor's success rate was in the high 90s and he didn't disappoint. I have recommended the school to my friends/family/colleagues at every opportunity and have never had a bad report. Book an appointment with Joe's now! You will be pleasantly surprised.
Adam Gabrielsson is one of the most dedicated (and the most strict!) driving instructor. He's very picky on little details but that is why make him a great instructor. Pay attention to what he says and stay humble when he points out your error. I'm sometimes annoyed by his advice, but when I pass my road test and look back at what he did, I was really thankful for his help. I would definitely recommend Joe's and Adam to anyone.
Karen is a great driving instructor. I feel much more comfortable after taking the full course and I passed my G test today. We should all take refresher courses more frequently, really--I learned a lot and Karen had tons of pointers and explanations for improving my driving and feeling more confident. I highly recommend it.
Well, I've never had any driving experience before. So I took this driving class; Like other driving classes, this class has two parts. Theory and Driving lesson; The materials taught in the theory section was OK and it was a good refresher. The first instructor (Joe) had a thick accent, but he could convey what he meant (He was very experienced though). I took the driving class with Adam; I took it because I read he is good based on the reviews. He is very experienced and exactly knows what he is doing. I highly recommend him. He is a great person too and he teaches you how to be a safe and good driver. I had one more lesson with him, before my driving exam. The tips and techniques that Adam had taught me was really helpful during the exam, and I passed the exam in the first time easily. Adam will be tough and picky with you even more than your examiner. I don't know about the other instructors, but I am very happy that I took driving lessons with this guy and I recommend Joe's driving school, and specifically Adam.
I took private lessons with Joe's Driving School and I highly recommend it! My G1 license was about to expire and I hadn't driven in quite a long time, so I needed lessons stat! Joe was very good about keeping in touch to set up lessons for me. Adam was my instructor and he is absolutely fantastic! If you're a nervous driver he is very relaxed, makes an assessment of what you need to improve on, and is great on instructing you how to practice safe driving. Also parallel parking and backing into a space will become a breeze. Thanks to Adam I passed my G1 exit test the first time around :)
Highly recommended! Not only are the prices reasonable, but the people are what make the experience. I was unable to make my second class due to personal reasons and Karen (the owner) was exceptionally understanding- allowing me to make up the class at a later date. Dan was my driving instructor and he was very accommodating when booking times and pick up locations with me, as I live out of town. Not only was he extremely patient, but made the ride enjoyable with his sense of humor. I had little to no experience driving before Joe's Driving Academy and I now feel completely at ease heading into my G2 Test.
I had private lessons from Adam and his teaching is very relaxing and no stress. Remember to use the car you were learning from and have some practice before the actual test.
Great in-car instruction, passed G1 exit test with no problems at all. Would recommend to anyone thinking about taking Driver's Ed.
Good lessons, solid structured paper work, great instruction and direction for the future drivers
Pathetic... firstly they don't have enough instructors.. they are never free.. one has to wait for at least a week to get 1 hour session.. Instructors are old (Eg Karen).. and don't even remember what they taught in previous lesson.. without telling beforehand..they ask for a separate test before road test.. and purposefully fail you.. And then will ask for extra money for extra classes. Won't even give you their car for exam if you don't agree to go for extra lessons.. CHEATS
Dan has helped me pass my G2 and G driving tests. He's an amazing instructor; calm, polite but also critical when needed. He is honest and not biased. I would highly reccomend this driving school to anyone and the price is much better than most places, well worth the lessons.
I took around 10 hour lesson with Bernie and 5 hours with Jae's driving school before passing my test in 2016 summer. Jae's price is higher, and It's hard for me to communicate with the female instructor, who is also the owner right now after Joe passed away.
Thanks to the training I received at Joe's Driving Academy, I passed my Class G2 Road Test and got my G2 driver's license! With the training that I received, I felt so confident during my drive test that even when my examiner was known for being stern and strict, I remained calm, followed all the instructions, obeyed all the rules and performed well! All the in-class education and in-car lessons paid off and I got my G2 license on my first try! This is due to the experience and leadership brought by Karen Young, the owner of Joe's Driving Academy and the driving teachers that she leads. She has been teaching driving for more than 30 years and she makes sure that the students are all trained well and are prepared to take the road test. During the time I was a student there, I felt like I was in my teachers' good hands and they consistently showed me that they cared very much about my performance and safety as a driver on the road and they equipped me with the skills I needed for my G2 Road Test! I highly recommend Joe's Driving Academy if you're looking to learn how to drive - they'll teach you how to drive safely, drive according to the latest rules and regulations, be considerate of others on the road and keep everyone around you safe!
My experience with Joe's Driving School was great! I took some refresher lessons after not driving for a while and my instructor Adam was super helpful, patient and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend Joe's!
They are very friendly and professional, they have new fancy cars that helped me to get my G2. I recommend this driving school to everyone ????
Had couple of hours with Dan and successfully pass my G2 test. Dan is highly recommended!
Took a couple hours of refresher lessons with Dan after having not driven for a while away at university and used his vehicle for my G test- Dan was friendly, put me at ease, and helped me pass my test on my first try. Affordable, flexible scheduling- would definitely recommend!
Did a few lessons and borrowed the car for my G test. Joe is incredibly helpful, and all the staff are very friendly. Great advice and tips, and some interesting conversation as well. They seemed very easy going to me, and had no trouble when I needed to constantly move times around. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for driving help and advice.
I went to Joe's Driving School, and it was worth every penny! In class, the instructor I had, Joe, was super nice, informative, and humorous. He took every lesson very seriously, and I learned a great deal from each one. The classes and units were well organized as well so it was always a smooth journey. My in-car lessons were fantastic too. My instructor, Adam, was very precise, clear and specific. He is always paying attention, teaches you everything you need to know, and eliminates any bad habits you may already have. He is also very encouraging. I just passed my G2 test today on the first try (yay!) and I am very grateful for all of the wonderful help from Joe's Driving School. Trust me, go here and you won't be disappointed!
Great affordable Driving school. Highly recommend it. Not having a car too get any driving in made it hard for me to practice for a test but I used Joe's Driving school to prepare and with only a few hour lessons i passed both my G2 and G using there services and car for my road test. Also ask for adam who was my instructor for my G really got me ready for my test in a short amount of time and very accommodating.
I had Dan and he was really nice. I was really afraid of driving and he prepared me for my G test with 4 days left on my licence (and I passed!) Flexible scheduling and fair pricing, and it was useful being able to use the car I practiced in for the actual test. Big thumbs up!
if i could give these guys less then 0, I would. they charged me 100 for letting them know an hour in advance i wouldnt be able to make it because i couldn't find my license, they charged me 500 to do a class to get my g2 4 months early, and knew why i was taking the class, and continued to delay me until long after I'm already eligible to get my g2, saying "ill save money by not crashing" when nobody learnt anything and the instructor of the in class session is barely coherent, she's gotta be atleast 85, hasn't connected with a student successfully since 1979, and all of the people that work here are seniors that shouldn't even be driving to begin with. The only people who enjoy this class is if they actually arent trying to learn anything and just want a certificate that says they can get their license early. if youve been born in the last 60 years DONT GO HERE!
I took lessons with Joe's to prepare for my G2 road test and managed to pass on my first try within a month. Bryon, my driving instructor, was very experienced and never hesitated to honestly point out my mistakes to help me improve, which was very important to me since I was a total beginner. Karen, the owner, was also flexible and accommodated for my tight schedule. Nice people and the best prices in town.
I had been driving earlier but needed lesson to brush up my skills for the road test. I took one hour private lesson from Joe's driving school. My instructor was Adam and he nicely covered all the points required for road test in one hour, the lesson was very helpful. I would highly recommend this school to anyone preparing for the road test.
Joe's Driving Academy highly recommended for your driver's education program very nice people to work with
I did some research and found them to be the cheapest in town with quite a few good reviews. Tracy who answers the phone was very helpful and kind with me which put me at ease, even when I call her 2 and 3 times. Joe's class was ok, there was a lot of useful information but a little but dry for me. The in car was great, and the instructor that taught me was very knowledgeable. Karen helped me get over my nerves, worked with my schedule and was relaxed with me, even with my awful parallel parking. Don't get me wrong she was hard but if she says your ready then you are ready! Over all great customer service and a job well done as I did pass. I would recommend it to anybody and will be using them again when it's time to do my finial G.
My experience at Joe's was fantastic! Karen was a wonderful instructor and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and informed when driving - and I was VERY anxious about driving going into it! Would recommend Joe's as a cost-effective, friendly driving school!
Great service! I had an awesome experience learning with Adam! I had a very small time frame to get my G2 licence, which as was going to expire within 2 weeks. Adam taught me safely and timely with straight forward instructions, right from the beginning. In the end I passed with flying colours! Thank you Joe and especially Adam!
Sunday night I was driving along Princess St and was cut off by a Joe's Driving Academy car as they were merging into my lane. The person then proceeded to give me the finger. Not really a great trait in a company teaching people how to drive. I would not recommend this company for anyone who wants to learn how to drive.
I had road test today and i passed the test. I had two hours lessen with Adem, he is really nice and expert person and i believe that if he approves the driving style of any student, he will pass the test.
Great instructor!
Great experience with joe’s driving academy. I got classes and pass my test.
Very very bad driving school in Kingston the Instructer too rude I recommend other students don’t go joe driving Acadmy
Joe is certainly a character! He makes the in class portion more bearable, and Adam is an awesome instructor! Definitely recommend.
I took lessons Bryon for my G2 test.He is one of the amazing instructor i had.I passed my G2 in one take all because of brine. He is a complete package for passing your drive test.If you are nervous he would make you relax and help you to learn the things in the drive lesson smoothly.Lisa at the customer service dest is also helpful and polite like Bryon.i would definitely recommend joe school and the driving instructor Bryon.Thank you Joe driving school and my instructor Bryon ????????
A great experience for new drivers. You learn what you need to know with professional experienced instructors.
Joe's Driving school really helped improve my driving while being a wonderful experience! Adam was my instructor and after 13 hours of in car lessons, I passed my G2 road test on the first try (yay). The in class portion was informative as well and it was nice that we got breaks during them. I'll be going back to Adam to prepare for my G test next year! Give them a call and you wont be disappointed.
I definitely recommend Joe's Driving School for anyone preparing for the road test. They are super helpful and flexible. The thing I liked the most was that Joe would make you feel comfortable on the road and would teach you straight-to-the-point about what you need to know, unlike other instructors who just throw information at you and make you more confused and more panicked than you already are (especially if you're just starting to drive). I followed another driving school prior to this and it felt like they were just out to get my money, but with Joe's, you definitely don't have to worry about that - you will get your money's worth. Thanks Joe!
I would recommend this driving school to everyone!! My driving instructor Dan was the best. Helped me build my confidence driving in a professional but jovial manner. He is the best. I passed my G2 first try! Thank you all!
I had a good experience and got my G2 right after finishing the course! Karen was responsible and prompt to any problems. Would recommend!
AVOID again. After 13 hours in car practice with Joe's coach, I cannot attend the G2 test. I have to find another driving school. Joe's driving school does not borrow me the car to go for G2 road test. All in all, this school's price is the lowest and the service is the worst I had experienced. I am responsible for my review. I have really suffered from the bad service. Also I give the below fact and I take responsible before God and court that it really happens: I complain about Joe's driving school behavior and Joe shouted at me and cursed me as "freak" and "screw up their simulation test" which hurts. During the school hours, the instructor ask me to drive his car to dealer to repair his car and even smoke in front of me (his student) and ask me to keep it as secret. I will file a complaint to Ministry of Transportation and court of Kingston for their behavior and hope to develop the service of all the driving school business in Kingston.
Joe's Driving School was a great experience for me. The in class portion was very informative. My driving instructor was Adam. I would recommend him to anyone who needs driving lessons he was patient and made me feel comfortable and safe when learning to drive. I passed my G2 first try with flying colors and I definitely have Adam to thank for that.
Joe's Driving School was an amazing experience. I had my G1 license for over 5 years and then my license expired. I took driving classes before but was still too nervous to drive. I looked up schools in Kingston and Joe's was the first one (with their cute logo). I absolutely recommend this driving school to any new, and especially nervous driver (like myself!). Adam was my instructor and he is amazing!! I highly recommend him to anyone! When I go for my G, I am taking lessons with him/this school. Lastly, did I finally get my G2? Yes...yes I did!!! And on my first try! With the help of this school I was able to muster up the confidence and knowledge to do so :) Thanks Adam and Joe's Driving School!
I am not sure what is going on with Joe's Driving Academy during the pandemic, but my daughter and I have been trying to reach someone there for months and never get an answer. They don't pick up the phone they don't respond to voicemails. We tried going there during the hours it says the office is open and the door is locked and "Closed" sign lit up in the window. It's confusing because we've seen "Joe's" cars out on the road. My daughter had taken the in class lessons which were good, had a great instructor for her road lessons, but communication since then has been zero. Her instructor left the school, makes one wonder why. All she needs to do is hand in her workbook so that she can get a completion certificate in order to receive the insurance discount. It seems that either the school hasn't paid rent and has been kicked out of their office space during the course of the pandemic, or they don't care to get back to us since they've already got our money. It is a very rare occasion that I would write a review, but wanted to warn others of the poor communication from this business and also in hopes that the owner will see this and become more responsive. If you do see this, please return our calls. -Dana O, Kingston
Rude agent who didn't follow the schedule listed by himself and tried to curse at me. Are you drunk?
