So glad to have received a personal referral to this independently-owned business, when the pandemic had caused delays and backups at the more well-known driving schools. Alan was honest and did not try to sell us more than we needed. He was confident my daughter could pass after 5 lessons and she did. His relaxed personality put her at ease on lesson one. The absolute best driving school ive been to! Besides the great pricing, it was overall an amazing experience. For me, i only needed a vehicle for the road test but i get very nervous on test especially since this was my second attempt(i passed about an hour ago perfect score). The driving instructor is patient and also lets you know if there is anything you need to work on to insure a passing score.

I started with some experiences in driving. I wanted to make sure I know all the details and what I am supposed to do in an actual road test. That was when I came cross Alan (The instructor). He is very amiable and informative. I learned the strategies to parallel park and 3 point turn. Every lesson felt relaxed and I got to learn how to drive safely at a much more pleasant and quick pace. All I have to say everything is very reasonable. I had some experiences in the past of him not contacting you right away, but you have to be patient and he will surely contact you back.

Alan is an amazing driving instructor & the best choice you could ever make for a driving instructor! He like josh Allen in the pocket throwing you a license it’s just up to you to catch it lol ! I came from a different driving school after 7 lessons and terrible communication and high prices I failed my driving test off rip . Alan drove with me, and his lessons were awesome and extremely helpful to what I already knew. I also want to add that I only had one lesson and on the day of my test he made sure to practice with me on specific things that I could have been nervous about. which was a great last minute refresher! He got my nerves straight and I passed with flying colors I was only docked 5 points for parking to far from the crub whereas last time when I failed I hit the curb and automatically failed (with added nerves and anxiety after all 7 lessons). He was a wonderful instructor, and very funny he eases your anxiety by making you laugh while telling you everything u need to know step by step. He was encouraging, and let me know that I was doing good . Alan is a straight business man and when you get in the car and actually meet him the experience and education is top quality and great value on top. I definitely recommend you to chose Holmes Driving School. You can’t beat the prices or quality.????????‍♂️

Alan is an honest and very helpful instructor. He works well with both inexperienced and experienced drivers. His demeanor makes both his lessons and the 5-hour pre-licensing very enjoyable. His only issue is he may show up late and may take a while to text back, but this is because he is the only instructor and he can get pretty busy. Overall, his lessons are worth any wait and I was able to get my license thanks to his help.

Don’t get me wrong, Alan is a very nice guy and make you comfortable. I went there because it was cheaper but I regret it immensely. Most of the time he was late, he only took me for my 1st test and I didn’t pass it. I rescheduled my 2nd test and he just didn’t show up. Now that I did classes with another school and passed my test I can’t tell that he doesn’t really teach you how to pass the test just stays next to you to drive around.

No other school was willing to take me to the road test because I wasn’t purchasing their driving packages. I was super nervous about parallel parking and he gave me some tips and showed me how to do it in order to pass the test. He also gave me some other advices about my car when I told him about some problems I was having with it, which he didn’t have to do, but this just shows how he values creating a relationship with his clients. Alan is an awesome driving instructor! He has a chill and funny approach when it comes to teaching driving. He is very accommodating even though I signed up for the course really close to my road test (1 month). He helped me build confidence naturally by his catchphrase "smoothly done", "the smoother the better" whenever I did things correctly. If I messed up, he would calm me down by saying "that is why you are learning. every mistake you make will make you a better driver". He knows UB and the Buffalo area very well. I would recommend him to any new driver, especially UB students. The lesson price is also super reasonable compares to all other schools (trust me, I researched). I can definitely say the quality of teaching is top-tier if not no.1. I would take more classes with him if I can because I feel safe and fun driving with him.

Never bails out on you when he makes a commitment. Gives sincere advise and even gives great discounts. When I took my first lesson with me, he said that I needed just another lesson before my test, although my family insisted to get 5 lessons. He advised 3 and gave me the confidence that I could pass my test! Which I did today!! His technique for parallel parking was easy to remember and apply. (I used to suck at that). On the top of that, he is a jolly person. Highly recommended for anyone looking to pass the test. I would say one thing, practice makes you perfect. So whatever he teaches, you should practice by yourself too! Listen to him and follow his instructions.

He would always repeat small things during lesson, so it sticks in your head. When you make mistakes during lessons, he would never ever say anything to upset you. I had a very unprofessional experience with Mr. Holmes. It took about 4 days just to get into contact with him. When I finally was Able to speak with him over the phone, we discussed our schedules and agreed on the 8 lesson driving package. He asked me to email him my schedule so we could set up the first lesson. I did. Four or five days went by with no response. I emailed him again asking him when he was available for our first lesson. He never responded. Extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend wasting your time.

Alan is a good instructor. Unlike other driving teacher I had in the Buffalo area in the past who yelled at me when I made some mistakes, Alan is a very nice, patient and chilled guy. He is good at giving clear instructions and keeps reminding me the driving rules that I’m not familiar with in class. He also teaches practical driving skills that will not be on the road test but can certainly apply on my daily life, like store parking. He likes making jokes which calm me down from the nervousness. I feel confident driving with him. He really wanted me to pass my road test. Don't take lessons from Alan, unless you want to kill yourself by crashing a car. He is greedy, stubborn, and very irresponsible. And also he is very incompetent. It is hard to even believe that he is certified driving instructor. He won't pay attention to you much when you are not driving properly, and would spending talking on the phone. On top that, there were significant amount of road accidents occurred when people took driving lessons with him. He did not put any effort to make sure you are driving safe
