Alexander not only focuses on preparing you to pass your test but he also takes into account preparing you mentally for your test day. In my homeland, traffic rules and road test requirements are quite a bit different from BCs driving regulations. Before scheduling my Class 5 road test, I booked a road test mock up with Alexander - which turned out to be the right decision. Our practice helped me reveal many weak points and bad habits that could have prevented me from passing the real test. Alexander also helped me learn what exactly ICBC examiners are looking for and how to improve my chances of passing the test. I’m very grateful for his driving advice on how to read and predict road conditions and how to perform certain maneuvers - even with my 20+ years of driving experience in a different country, Alexander’s tips helped refine my driving skills. After practicing for some time in my own car, I returned for another road test mock up. With Alexander’s guidance, I felt more confident and it was easier for me to drive according to the exam requirements. Two days later I successfully passed my road test and obtained my full license. Alexander had trained me on roughly the same areas that the exam covered, so everything felt very familiar on the day of the real test.

As an inexperienced driver, I learnt quite a lot with Alexander. I only had 4 lessons with him and I feel a lot better about driving on the road than I did before. He taught me a lot of great tips that I can take with me into my driving career and as I practice my skills. Even when I’m a pedestrian I find myself trying to identify different types of intersections, who has right of way, and potentially dangerous situations thanks to his teaching. I know lots of people in Victoria who don’t have their license yet and I would recommend Alexander to them if they end up looking for a driving school. UPDATE: When I eventually took my N test for the first time in June 2021, I passed with no issues. Thank you so much Alexander, it was you who taught me the fundamentals :)

If you’re looking for driving lessons that will go beyond simply giving you the skills to pass your road test by also teaching you the tips and tricks necessary to excel as a stand-out driver for the rest of your life, then i-Drive is your school! As someone who spent the better part of my late adolescence and young-adult life travelling and living from city to city, I never had the chance to settle down and get my license. So when I came back to BC with a new job and the urgent need to get my N, I sought to learn as quickly and effectively as possible, and I’m happy that I found Alexander’s lessons through i-Drive. In the week leading up to my N road test, I took four lessons with Alexander, and in that time, he was able to equip me with the necessary tools and resources to pass my test. Even though Alexander picked me up as a student with little-to-no driving experience, he was able to quickly teach me everything I needed to know so that I could grow into a more skilled road user. I now have my N and feel confident about handling my vehicle and navigating my driving environment alone. Everyone learns at different speeds and in different ways, but if you’re the type of learner who thrives with structure, is open to learning about the more detailed nuances of driving, and can receive constructive criticism, then Alexander will quickly and effectively teach you everything you need to know to both pass your road test and develop the necessary habits for being a better and safer driver.

It’s a big fortune to find a good driving instructor! Neither your dad or your husband is able to provide SUCH professional observation techniques and confidence. I was lucky to take lessons from Alexander and it took me 6 lessons to be able to pass driving test. Alex is a professional driving teacher who will tell you some complicated and tricky things you have to bear in mind during the driving exam. He has good patience and always remind you what you should and shouldn't do during the driving lesson. I have just passed the exam with 1 try only today. I met Alexander for the first time today (Jan 7, 2021) the day of my road test for a class 5 Driver License(my first Canadian DL). The guy his a fantastic instructor. My driving lesson experience with Alexander was amazing...super relaxed but always focused... in 2 hours he helped me improve the skills and details that the examiners look on the road tests....I told him that I am an anxious person and he took 15 min before the road test just to talk to me, made some jokes and gave me some tips on how to behave during my road test...that helped a lot..It was perfect I passed. Amazing driving school! Super easy to book an appointment and instructor was amazing. He was very honest but also made me feel comfortable by stating what I was doing well. Very knowledgeable and very affordable. Not a company that is just out for money he actually told me at the end that I was a good driver and probably wouldn’t need another lesson. I have used and heard of schools that press for more but not here. He showed up early and I was able to pick my drop off destination which was very helpful. Driving and learning is very intimidating and it’s Important to pick a good school and I truly believe this is one of the best. I didn’t want to jinx myself so I didn’t mention I had my test that afternoon but I passed and did so with only one minor error. Thank you so much.
