I took drivers ed through a local program at North Lakes Academy and was not impressed. I feel like I didn't learn anything, except that I needed to switch programs if I wanted to really learn how to drive safely. The other program failed to give me a drivers manual and my instructor would skip over important slides that needed to be learned. So, I decided to schedule my behind the wheels through Right Away Driving to insure that I will become a safe driver on the road. They have been very helpful through the process and I am very impressed with their nice staff and willingness to help!! I am looking forward to work with them :)

You are honestly stupid if you don’t go here for drivers ed. The teachers are so nice. They take care of scheduling your tests and you often have a lot of friends to hang out with. Honestly I enjoyed going here . They also prepare you for your permit test very well with flash cards an fun activities. 10/10 would recommend.

Ashley is the owner and one of the teachers. She is funny, energetic and always ready to attack the days lesson plan. And she sells you food during the classes breaks. I have heard great things from the other teachers there and everyone I rode with during the 3 behind the wheels were nice, helpful, and patient with us new drivers.

I have been a student at Right Away for nearly two years now and I can honestly say that throughout these years, I have been able to stay engaged and grow/learn an incredible amount! I started my in-classroom classes in fall of 2019 and then got my permit in November that same year. Ashley made classroom time absolutely amazing and introduced/taught the material in a fashion that allows me to still remember the critical information to this day. For instance, I can still remember all of my hill parking information (e.g. uphill, with curb= turn wheel left because it creates the letter L when you use the hand signals Ashley taught in class) which is a fact that you indeed need to know on the actual road test in MN. She created ways of studying and learning that captivated students that I have known not to be successful in normal classroom settings while in school. All of these things combined I feel allowed for me to pass my permit test the first time back in 2019! Char was my behind the wheel instructor all three times this Spring of 2021 and I truly believe it was because of her positive energy and helpful guidance that really allowed me to perform as highly as I did when taking my behind the wheel test. She allowed me to have learning opportunities without feeling like I need to be perfect right away/ all the time while practicing the skills (which is something I appreciated so much since I am a perfectionist and struggle with anxiety in that area). She didn’t create me any unnecessary stress which promoted an overall better learning environment, allowing me to learn better and therefore, succeed more! Also, when I did ask a question or wasn’t getting a concept instantly, she didn’t make me feel dumb or less than about it. Her positive teaching style promoted better driving habits that stuck with me and even encouraged my tester to comment on how observant of a driver I was. I passed my first-time testing and felt super prepared going into it! I truly feel like I am a better and more aware driver after working with Char and am eternally thankful for all the time she spent teaching and working with me!

Probably the best driving school around. Easy to engage and ask questions, with a positive and kind environment. Ashley was my instructor, and she did an amazing job!! This is an environment where you can have fun while learning. Even those rambunctious kids in school who have a hard time paying attention and behaving are able to do that here. My behind the wheel lessons were also super comfortable and nice! My instructor Kyle made the experience (I had him my 1st and 2nd time) awesome and not awkward at all. You could easily talk and ask questions and get helpful replies! I was also able to have a behind the wheel 3 days before my drivers test, which was awesome too. I got helpful tips for my test, and got to practice what I would be tested on- I passed my first time! I recommend all of my friends here, and will continue to do so.

Out driving on I-35 the other day and the instructor cut me off (within feet of my bumper) and proceeded to slow down 10mph in the fast lane. Hand gestures were directed at me without any coming from me as I passed. She then rode my bumper very closely for a mile or two. Totally loved it was a great experience and they were there even after I was done with drivers ed to answer questions for my drivers test! Would definitely recommend it they were super flexible and were able to coordinate around my hockey schedule, awesome at helping simplify parking, and helped me get a first time pass! I failed my license test 4 times before I went looking for drivers training. I’m 20 years old so I wasn’t sure where would offer adult classes but I was excited to learn that right away did! My driving instructor Sarah was so cool & understanding of my situation! I felt dumb going into drivers training finally at 20 years old & after so many times of failing but I was treated very respectfully! I passed on my first try after my 6 hours of training!! I was so thankful! Let me say it again, SARAH WAS SO AWESOME! I would 100% recommend Right Away to everyone, especially adults who still need to get their license! ❤️

I am currently going to the hybrid summer drivers ed class and having an excellent time. The teacher Vanessa gives us easy lessons that are easy to grasp while teaching us the importance of the road and safety. Overall, an amazing pick for a drivers ed program, especially when most other programs aren't even open during summer!

She really enjoyed working with Dan and got alot out of her instruction. They were very responsive when i had questions and were very helpful! If you live in the northern metro- Right Away Driving is where it's at!! The school has 3 locations- Forest Lake, North Branch and Chicago????????and the Instructors/Office staff are fabulous. My Son took the online zoom meetings due to covid. They insist he retakes 30 hr class from them. Because He’s Not home schooled it had to be in class. Made us send documents (wrong ones to await States approval) Then offered the same Zoom program my son took elsewhere. Mis lead our every step even called for verification only to be told something different again upon arrival, in which i requested a full refund. Employee Called company owner for actions on refund. We were told they would bring it to location just wait After a bit I asked for conformation of wait time. How close to location Owner was only to find out she’s not even coming in that day.. Grrr . DON’t waste TIME or Money

I did my drivers ed with this program at the north branch high school. Patrick was my instructor and he did a wonderful job. He read the book aloud to us each day, explained what it was saying in a much more understandable language. He gave us examples of his firsthand experience as a driver and a police officer. He made the class as fun as a 30 hour drivers ed class can be.
