@BrandiS counselors are at the school to regulate student's schedules and put them in their appropriate classes. You must have gotten the term "counselor" confused with "guidance counselor" they're two completely different jobs. Granted in your defense the counselor could have referred you to the guidance counselor, misunderstandings happen

I went here all four years. Gotta say, there were a few "bad" teachers, but numerous great teachers. All-in-all I am proud to say I was a Churchill Charger.

I had a VERY NEGATIVE experience with this school. I was only there a year and a half, and had grew up in San Antonio. If you want your student/self to be surrounded by drug abuse, illegal activities (lot's of pill popping & heroine), skipping (50 tardies & absences are the norm) , self absorbed students that tend to outcast with cliques, or bully, and (majority) auto-piloted teachers without proper teaching methods. When I informed my counselor I was being physically abused at home, and what I can do about it, she replied: "I don't care, it's not my problem, grow up. I'm only here to deal with academics." I was appalled that a counselor would not help a student in tears seeking assistance when in danger. When I began to question her why she couldn't help me with any resources, she threatened to have me escorted out by an officer. It's disgusting to think that this situation happened, I'm clearly not the first, and unfortunately had many witnesses as she raised her voice at me and pointed in rage. Another teacher inappropriately harassed me in the hallways on more then one occasion. I would not recommend this school.

I went to Churchill for four years. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned and grew so much. I loved all of my teachers (they were wonderful), and I still treasure each one of the friends I made during my time there (they were all wonderful, too). Strong academics and great extracurricular programs (I was in the marching band throughout my high school career) make this school a great place for getting an education.

I did my student teaching & an internship at Churchill High School the year it opened - 1966 to 1967. It was a very positive experience and a unique experience. I have only very fond memories of my experience at Churchill High School. I had attended Catholic schools for over 16 years, so this was my first experience in a public school. It was a totally positive experience and very enlightening. I went on to a 5 decades career as a public school teacher and volunteer. It all started at Churchill ! I could not be more thankful and grateful. What is beyond strange is that, even after a half century, I can still remember some of the students' names.
