The learning sessions at SAFA were excellent. For people who need to refresh their driving skills there’s not better option out there. There’s even a session of highway driving, which is very helpful if you don’t have any previous experience in Canada. Recommended to my girlfriend and we both passed our exams after attending SAFA.

Safa driving school was a great investment in my opinion, not only did I learn to drive, but by learning and understanding how the road system works I also became a safer pedestrian. They have a very flexible schedule accommodating almost all days and times, and are priced quite competitively, if you have any problems or doubts then Mr. Rashid will make sure to clear them up! Finally, something to keep in mind is you must be proactive in learning and improving, Safa will give you a strong foundation but it is up to you to reflect and digest the information given, driving takes time, patience, and a lot of focus, even after the license!

Couldn't recommend more. SAFA is a small family owned driving school, and the couple that run it put in so effort to make sure their students pass all the components of their license in one shot. It is rare to find people so dedicated to driving. Many times Mr Rashid has brought me out driving while it is snowing and all the other driving schools were closed. He's also been flexible with his schedule to allow me to get my license while also managing being a student. Really a great place.

SAFA DRIVING SCHOOL Very good school! This is the only school that will make you practice your driving even in very bad weather conditions (snow storm) like today. Safa Driving School is the only driving school that wasn’t closed. SAAQ was closed and many more driving schools...I had a driving session today and it was very awesome to experiment driving in a extremely bad weather. When I was driving downtown in montreal ( st-catherine, René-Lévesque....) i didn’t see any other driving school cars on the road...which is actually funny since it was a perfect and challenging day to practice your driving!!! I learned many things in just one car session. -increasing your following distance -increasing your breaking distance -reducing speed while turning -keeping a constant speed while going up a hill -keeping your feet on the break while going down a hill And many more... Driving in Montreal on a snow storm day is a pretty good challenge! Especially when there are potholes all over!!!! :) Thank you SAFA Driving School From: June ????

This driving school is a happy accident for me. I was waiting for the bus last winter. Ifcourse the bus was late ans the sign right infront of the bus stop kept flashing and eventually i ended up going in. The school teaches with a hands on experience of what its like to drive downtown through st catherine and other busy streets such as guy. Overall this school is highly recomended if you need some hands on experience drivibg in downtown montreal.

Excellent driving school, the teacher is really patient and nice! In only 4 car sessions I learned parallel parking, turning at intersections where hundreds of pedestrians cross the road, anticipating traffic lights and signals, changing lane, and driving on reverse! I even got to drive on René Lévesque and Robert Bourassa! I still have many more classes to go to, but already feel quite confident on the road because I get to actually practice a lot (oh and did I forget going up and down hill?!)

Special props to SAFA & Mr. Rashid for kindly offering winter-time driving sessions for no additional charge. Not many driving schools would be capable enough to offer such service, and at times people have to spend extra bucks - but not at SAFA. Have been on my 5th session and navigating through the snowy road already. I had in car session 6 & 7 this morning. Last night i send e- mail to Safa Driving School for the weather conditions. Mr. Rashid reply my e- mail around 9:00 pm , he mention driving schedule will remain same. It was very dangerous to drive this Morning. I learn how to drive on a bad weather conditions, i drove from downtown to Verdun, LaSalle and High way, i also learned all type of parking. It is very important to pay attention on the traffic light, one of the traffic light was change the direction because of heavy wind, if we didn’t understand it could happen bad accidents. During our session Mr. Rashid advise me all ways lessons AM 800 CJAD radio station its gives road network environment news every 15 minutes. We ware listening FM 800 radio one of the truck involved accident because of heavy wind. Thanks to Safa Driving school to give me the car session on dangerous weather conditions.

Honestly a very good driving school, the people there makes sure you pass the driving test at one go. Very honest and dedicated working family running the school. I just passed my driving exam last week in one try. So basically I took their Dorval 3 hr driving package where Mr.Rashid will show you what to look out for in the exam and which route the instructor will take you. This package pretty much guaranteed my exam. His road teaching is very helpful and whatever he says is super important for the exam, so keep notes yeah!

If you're lucky enough to live around Montréal or the surrounding areas, do yourself a big favor and just start with Safa from the beginning of your journey as you learn to drive. This is the state I was in when I came to Safa, and was able to turn things around for the better. They are absolutely lovely people. Mrs. Rashid accommodated my busy schedule several times, even though it was often challenging to do, she would find a way. Patient, professional and knowledgeable, with a way of teaching that is designed for you to actually learn and remember, to keep yourself and others safe on the road. I was always anxious during my in-car sessions at the other school I attended before - but Mr. Rashid was so patient, encouraging and supportive of my personal improvement. He helped me track my progress and pinpoint exactly what I did well and what needed practice. He structured lessons around successfully passing the exams and becoming a safe road user in the future. I couldn't have asked for more. We also practiced driving on the highway, which I'm grateful for as most schools are no longer offering this as of 2017! Failing my driving test twice, I came to SAFA driving school with zero confident of driving , despite 10 years of driving experience from another country. The 12-hr-driving package at SAFA not only corrected, and strengthen my fundamental driving skills, it significantly boosted up my driving confident. I also strongly recommend the road test prep package. I took mine in Dorval, the prep package definitely helped my prepare for the real test. I was so prepared that at the end of test, when I asked the evaluator how did I do, she said, « you were perfect! ». I would recommend SAFA driving school to anybody, esp. those who came with baggage of driving habits from other countries like me.

I signed up my 16 year old son for driving school at Safa driving. It was close to home as well as being very fairly priced. I also felt very secure after talking with Mr Rachid about his vision for the driving school. It has been 7 months since my son started the program. I have seen his driving skills improve continuously. The only drawback I see is that he now comments on all the driving mistakes that I do continuously. I was impressed when last Feb 13 2019, Philip had a practical driving class right in the middle of a severe snow storm. Even the SAAQ offices were closed but nothing stops Mr Mohammad Harunur Rashid from giving his students the trust they need to learn and perfect their skills in various difficult driving conditions but always in a controlled positive environment. I highly recommend Safa as the teacher Mr Rachid also owns the School. He therefore has vested interest as a teacher to do a good job and I can see he takes great pride in his work.

In my opinion, Safa driving school is the best driving school in Montreal. I just finished all my driving courses in this school. Before choosing Safa, I went to several schools to ask about their classes and price. I learned that the class schedules of most of the schools are fixed and we have to arrange our time according to their schedules. However, Safa's schedule is pretty much flexible and they arrange the class according to our schedule. This gives me more freedom to arrange my time. Also, their price is the best. The teachers are very kind, responsible and knowledgable, and they truly wish that we learn something. The location of the school is very convenient too, close to Lionel-Groulx metro station. SCHOOL!! theory classes were always clear and relevant and entertaining. they never cancelled an in car session, even during a snow storm, when every other school cancelled classes, Mr. Rashid helped me learn to drive in all kinds of weather conditions. you can tell they really care about their students and want them to succeed, and are endlessly patient and accommodating. I just completed my last class with SAFA this afternoon and have zero complaints about my experience. I went to safa after completing my first five classes at another driving school and had a much much better time at safa compared to the other driving school.

I am super happy that I attended Safa Driving school to get my drivers license. The whole experience was great from the beginning. They explained how the whole course is structured so I can set my expectations. The online classed were after work or during weekends and they helped me choose the driving sessions also. During driving sessions the instructor was explaining very clear and calm and it helped me tremendously to get over my fear of driving. Towards the end of the driving classes we also had some highway sessions that are very important. Before my driving exam, I totally recommend to get the sessions that are focused on driving in the area of the exam, because it will help you accommodate more and also you will have a higher chance of passing the exam. It has been 1.5 years since I got my licence all thanks to Mr. Rashid! I had completed the program at another location and was not ready at all to get behind the wheel, they had done a terrible job at teaching everything so a friend recommended SAFA driving school. Safa Driving School is an excellent place to learn how to drive from scratch or take 1:1 driving lessons to pass the SAAQ Road Test (I was a new immigrant and took some courses and was able to pass the test on the 1st try!). Mr Rashid is an excellent teacher that is very vigilant and teaches you the correct technique to drive in all conditions and handle the vehicle in difficult road situations well. He cares very much about the learner becoming a good and safe driver for the long term. If you listen to their advice carefully and follow all the instructions, it should be fairly easy to drive well. Compared to other driving schools, I was very satisfied with the great quality and value offered by Safa Driving School. The scheduling might be a little tricky as they are pretty busy, but if you call in advance, they are able to accommodate schedule changes.

this is the worst driving school ever, do not waste your money on this school, the teacher has poor communication skill and his teachings are not even comprehensive, he repeats the same things every class and boast about his Tesla that no one cares about. I regret ever registering in this school, I paid for the classes and they don't even follow through with the so called scheduled classes. Save your money and go to another school, it is not worth it. I am definately not happy with their services. SMH, If you don't know how to run a school, then don't make one.

I just passed my Road test on the first attempt and I have to thank the Safa team and especially Mr. Rashid for his excellent instruction. I'm an adult student and I had been putting off taking the road test for many years. The more years passed the more daunting it became. After reading some postive reviews I signed up for 12 in-car road sessions at Safa. Mr. Rashid immediately put me at ease behind the wheel, even in downtown traffic, and his lessons were clear, well planned and just challenging enough that I felt increasingly confident after every session. Like any new driver I made many mistakes but he always makes sure you understand your errors and how to correct them. To increase my chances of passing on the first try, I also took the 3-hour road test preparation session where he brings you to the area your test will take place and shows you what to expect and the likely routes you will be asked to take. I already felt prepared but I'm really happy I decided to do this session. I was much calmer and prepared on test day than I would have been otherwise. I'd highly recommend it.

This is a great school if you approach driving responsibly. After only 4 practice sessions, I feel quite confident driving in residential areas, downtown (Ste-Catherine, René Levesque), around construction areas… The instructor, Mr. Rashid, is not just along for the ride, but always maintains a positive and honest attitude pointing out room for improvement. It’s all about establishing good habits – scanning the environment ahead, reading the signs carefully (and not relying on habit), blind spots, mirrors, safety of yourself and other users, in-vehicle features… Frankly, many of the regular drivers in Montreal could use a few classes in this school (looking at you, rue Rose-de-Lima!). It is a family-run business which offers a flexible schedule. Overall, warmly recommended.

In-car sessions, they teach you everything, highway, local, downtown, South Shore. If you have something to practice more, like exemple parking lot, you can ask for more practice and it will be his pleasure to show you until you got it! Never be shy to ask something. Short and unprofessional experience I can’t comment on the quality of the driving lessons, but I just had a useless 15 min discussion in this driving school. The person I met informed me that he would not register me as a studen without a driving license from Quebec. I sent an email and left a message a couple of days before to ask for some information and explaining that I had a French driving licence and just needed some courses to build the confidence as I never drove in Quebec before. He had all information but made me come to the school just to refuse to take me as a student with the most ridiculous excuse possible... I won’t have my driving license switch appointment before weeks but need to drive now. That school was just a waste of time and money. UPDATE AFTER SAFA'S REPLY: You had all these information and should have told me you don't want a student with a foreign driving licence. It would have save us both time. For your information, France and Quebec have an agreement. With a French driving licence it is allowed to drive during the 6 first months in Quebec. I will do the switch of license in February but would like to improve now. Anyway, that is a very weird reason to refuse a student. It was just a missed opportunities from your side to not waste both of our time.

The teacher is passionate about his job and I learnt a lot with him. I booked the 12 hours practice session as well as the 3 hours road test preparation near the exam center. He made me practice driving on the possible routes for the exam and gave me many useful tips. I passed my exam on the first try.

Instructors took me to drive various locations that we should be aware of in Montreal, which really helps me to learn how to drive in the city, and also they let me practice the downhill parking and drive different highways following by my request. I had only a few weeks available to go to this school but Mr. and Mrs. Rashid arranged my driving classes well so I could finish all classes on time. I had a bad experience at this driving school. From the very beginning i could sense something fishy was going on. He would tell me to do something and when i tell him i did it he would say i didn't say that. He told me to ask a neighbor to help me drive. He actually thinks my neighbors are gonna help a random person that they don't even know to practice driving. when he ask me to drive on the highway i said i was nervous and that i wanted to do it a next time and he said okay. Then i made an appointment with him and his wife and they both said okay. One day i ask are we still going on the highway and they both said no and Mr Muhammad said he almost died with his other students. i was in the office arguing with them and his wife would talk about me in there language. Their both very rude. He also ask me to take a picture of cars driving on the opposite road so he could show his class. yeah like i"m gonna stand on the street for hours to see if cars make a mistake. Another example i wanted to practice driving at night he said okay but i"m going to drop you off at Angrignon metro. Him and his young daughter were in the car and which made me more nervous.He made me drive her to his house to drop her off. Hes unprofessional. I complained to the AQTR and they got me an attestation paper for about 7 dollars after he told me i must pay 60 dollars. I didn't feel i should give him a dollar so i complained to a community center called bump and they got my attestation paper for free. When i went there he was asking me for the money that the aqtr wanted me to give.This guy is a crook he lives in denial and he uses religion as a excuse to make you think hes perfect. He didn't treat me equally as the other students. I regret going to his school and i"m glad i transferred to another one.

I've had a great experience at Safa taking the RSEP! The teacher is friendly yet very professional, he teaches very well, and, along with another instructor, helps you become comfortable at the wheel. There are endless success stories of helping students from all walks of life, overcome all of their challenges in order to successfully learn to drive. The team is also very organized and diligent with scheduling. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn or improve their driving!

Very good driving school. the owner and his staff are very pragmatic. They always thing about driver security and they can not give you attestation if you do not pass session car number 15. I fail 2 times and they keep until they know that i'm ready. I recommand this school for everyone who knows that driving is not a game.

I highly recommend this school. Mr. Rashid makes sure we have all the information we need for our knowledge test. I passed my knowledge test in the first try! The in-car sessions are also very professional and detailed. Today in my last two sessions, Mr. Rashid even took me to the highway where Safa was the only driving school car I saw. I drove with him on 20est/ouest where I was driving infront of STM bus and next to a huge truck in a construction zone of 50km. But everyone was driving at 70km and Mr. Rashid made sure I felt comfortable and reassured me and helped me learn real life driving where I got to keep with the traffic to stay safe. He took lots of time to fine tune my parking skills, lane changes, mirror checks, right/left turns, narrow streets driving. Also the location of the school is great for learning driving as its in very heavy traffic narrow streets with lots of opportunity to practice overall anticipation of all road users. They are also following very good safety precautions for COVID which is great!

Great school! Theory classes are the same as you will get at other driving schools, but where SAFA really stands above the rest is the quality of the instructors and the in car sessions. After only my 6th session I was able to turn, change lanes, drive on the highway, park (reverse, forwards, and parallel), drive downtown, you name it! Mr. Rashid is a great teacher and you can really tell he cares about each and every one of his students.
