They forced me to pay the whole amount before they awarded me the learner's license (which I learned that is illegal). Then, they were suspended by AQTR and declared bankruptcy. It has been a year and a half that I'm waiting for my refund from AQTR and I don't have my license yet and I had to switch my driving school. The reason that they were suspended was that illegally, they gave licenses to people who did not complete the course. Avoid these crooks. Most reviews here are fake by the owners. I got refunded 360 dollars even though I paid 700 for the course. This man stole $340 dollars from me.
Go claim reimbursement guys. It seems like google doesn’t allow me to post the announcement of their closing. But on the website of AQTr, it says that they can no longer offer driving classes. Their certification was revoked. And also it seems like this school has been shut down at least 2 times already!! How is it even allowed for them to go back into business??
I don't have option to give ZERO rating unfortunately. Not even one student should spoil their time and money with this school. Don't trust this school even if they offer free classes. Stop running school better for you and society...
Good school, very accommodating to your situation. They gave me some remedial lessons to get used to driving on the right side of the road and on the ice. Avoid the German instructor who claims to have many years of experience, he doesn't take into account your requests. The other instructors are honestly fantastic. The test is all about being confident. After a serious set of nervous tests, the instructor Karen boosted confidence in my driving ability so I passed the test!
I recommend you to take classes with this school before your driving exam, excellent tips and quality training given by the instructor
I have been doing my theory exam test for over 3 years I went to Apollo driving school ???? I have nothing positive to say about that school. I was very agrevatied I found this place ecoule de conduite national while I was walking downtown and I walked in I told the sir my situation he give me his services as I went to my next appointment theory I passed ! And for my road test I am coming for my driving here absolutely amazing service very friendly very thankful I recommend this place a 1000 times to anyone that's want to get on the road.
Very good driving school. The driving instructor Karen is the best!
Skillful staffs. Great service with excellent teachers!
This school is funny. They have both good instructors who are very helpful and experienced and instructors who are not punctual and not helpful. The in class sessions for me, were good up until level 6 after that they are a waste of time, but mandatory. My advice is to keep your class schedule organized make sure you know what you've completed and when the next session is happening.
Dear Patrick, We are sorry to hear that you found the lectures boring. We get students to read the slides in class to keep them engaged and interested. The slides are standard, and have been provided to us by the AQTR (Government of Quebec). We are required by law to transfer this knowledge to our students. We are responsible for training safe and cautious drivers to keep our roads safe. National driving school's success rate is over 95%, which should be a testament to our dedication to have successful students. As for the textbook, the Driving Under Control the 5th edition is a combination of 3 books which has been published by Driving School Association of Quebec. Patrick, we really appreciate having you as a student at our school and we wanted your experience to be a positive one. National driving school always respects its student’s suggestions. I hope that moving forward you will be satisfied and happy with our services. If there is anything that we can do to improve the quality of your experience please let us know. They are provisional with many years experience of teaching .
Im not usually one to take the time to write a review, but this school deserves a serious +A for their kindness & persistence. As a fashion model, I deal with many international contracts & am required to leave the city for months at a time. When signing up with NDS, I was hesitant that because of my job, I'd fall behind on the courses, get completely off track & unmotivated. Lucky for me, I chose the right school! The National Driving school team never hesitated to help me out. They kept me organized, up to date with my courses while I traveled and were incredibly understanding. They really have their students best interest & the money spent for this course goes a long way. Finally! (To all those who have gave up on driving- it's never too late- they will make it fun, easy and successful) After reading all of the reviews for this school- the one thing I've noticed is people a bit unsatisfied about not being able to take the courses they want-when they want- but there is a course schedule that's published every month that makes it super easy for us to attend any class we choose. NDS, thank you so much for your kindness & patience. I wouldn't recommend any other driving school in Montreal! Betta
National Driving school was honestly a blessing for me. At first, I completed phase one of my driving test at Technic. I then graduated, and moved to Ottawa to pursue my studies. I contacted the school informing them of my situation, and when I spoke with them, they told me the owner was on vacation until mid June (2012).. Trying to organize my schedule to come back on weekends to finish my courses in this new law was a disaster.. I started looking around for alternatives. I found National Driving school on de Maisonneuve. They bent themselves backwards to help me finish my course.. I'm not one to take time to write reviews, but these people really deserve it. I would do all the courses I can following the new rules, then they would help me schedule my next class. They even had instructors stay later, do extra hours to take me on my in-car session to help me out since I would only be in town for a short time. I took my written exam yesterday morning at 10h40 am, passed it and scheduled an in car exam which, luckily for me, a spot was free this morning at 11h50, so I jumped on the occasion. I immediately called the National Driving school telling them I about the exam the next day because I hadn't completed the phase 15, the final hour in car!! They reassured me, told me we could work it out. They had one of their instructors stay an extra hour to give me the course! I walked out of there with my attestation stamped and ready for the exam, which everyone told me to beware of tricks and tons of nonsense. I passed my exam first try right here in Montreal, no tricks, no catches.. Just drove as I had any other passenger, maybe a tad slower.. 39 in a 40 zone for example. Everything else was just natural, stops, signs, lane changes. I want to personally thank not only the school for helping me with my schedule, but also their instructors for making this possible. We've had great discussions while driving, good laughs and everyone is very patient. I always was a calm person, but I don't think anyone could stress driving with these instructors. Kind regards, Mathieu
Every night my partner comes back with a jaw dropping funny story about that driving school! It is so funny everything that happens there so if you want something laughable at the end of the day you should go there! LOL. It is a great location I gotta say but that is probably the only reason you would go there for.
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. My experience with them has been terrible and I do not wish this on anyone else. Here is why: Boring lectures. The teachers simply read from the slides; most of the time they don't even read it themselves and ask the student to do the reading. Material covered in lectures has at best a 20 percent overlap with the module 5 exam. It is almost as if they are organizing the material this way to make sure you don't pass the exam in a first try ==> more $$$ for the school. Make you buy an overpriced textbook which they never use in class except for useless questionnaires like "what is your dream car", or the over-the-top-obvious ones like "what are the risk behaviours on the road". I didn't pay hundreds of dollars to be lectured on not to drink and drive. Teachers show no interest in teaching what so ever ; their style is mechanical and monotonic. #################################################### Forget what I said above. The National Driving School is someone's business and negative previews do it great damage. I was made to realize just how important it is to the owners ; and they take their livelihood VERY seriously. My previous comments about how the lessons were boring was prejudiced - - the lessons were targeted at 16 year olds who have the need to have every "obvious" detail explained to them because they learn that way. That's the way they are supposed to be. I hope this extra information is enough to help new students make a decision about future enrolment with the school. This school has so many great things about it. To name one just think about the location : how great is it to just have to cross a street from the Molson Business School and you can attend your driving lessons ? I can't think of another school that beats that.
Horrible school! They were forced to shut down by the provincial government
They were suspended by AQTR and declared bankruptcy. After one year and a half I haven't received the money from their insurance. Just terrible.
Overall a great driving school. Sure, the theory classes were quite boring, with a lot of emphasis on young men being dangerous drivers, but that's not the fault of the school. There was one instructor who was sometimes quite rude and would repeat the same horrifying stories of how people she knew had died in traffic accidents, but as far as I know she is not working there anymore. For the most part I had the same driving instructor for the practice sessions, Karen. He was really great! He was really nice, patient and realised that he needed to give me independence to enable me to become a good driver. Take classes with him if you can! The secretary, Roya, is super helpful, accommodating and very friendly. She will try her best to cater to your schedule. I would say that, excluding the theory classes, it was a fun experience!
Where’s my money? They got shut down by the SAAQ (Quebec department of Automobile) and I haven’t got my money back! Seriously, DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! They just want you to pay money, and the service ain’t good! they declared bankruptcy!
I recommend this school . It has - Good location -Good staff - Good instructors -Extra classes if you need I passed my test I owe these guys a lot . Long may it continue !
I passed the exam of class 1 (truck) at the first time
I don't often give this level of praise to many establishments: this school taught me not only how to drive well, but how to live well (cheesy but truthful: I hope no one is lactose intolerant). Karen is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. The man will convey a lifetime's worth of driving tips and behaviors with perfect ease and concision. I highly recommend this school.
From literally the same people that brought you National Driving School (the one that got shut down for being awful inside and out) comes - National Driving School (no relation). Yeah. Dont waste your time and money.
DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL, THEY ONLY WANT YOU TO SPEND MORE MONEY
My mother got her driver licence from national driving school with good experience (20 Year’s a ago). Then my older sister went to national driving school 2 Year’s ago, base on their experiences and recommendation I registered to national on last summer so far I don’t have any problem. Theory lecture they do what government requires even du is use less. Because it is repetitive subject. Other then that management is very precise. So don’t miss any driving course.
Had a great experience here with the hands-on driving classes. The in course sessions were standard and nothing exceptional, but driving instructor Karen is the main reason this school merits a 5 star review. Great experience with an insightful and brilliant instructor. Looked forward to every driving session. Highly recommend Karen for the driving lessons; unparalleled in teaching capabilities.
Good truck driving school with affordable pricing. Mohammed's school is a good choice to get your class 1 lisence. Top notch.
