*** For my 6A license. *** I was initially with another driving school and then I switched to Morty's, and wow, that was the best decision I could have made. Their classes are extremely knowledgeable, the instructors know what they are talking about and give you real life experiences. I chose to do a few extra private courses with Phil, and there are not enough words to describe how amazing he is. He gave me the confidence to get on the road and him, along with Gerry and Sam and every other instructor constantly gave me feedback on what needed improvement and gave me little techniques to properly ride the motorcycle. I am eternally grateful for the time and effort each instructor put in. Also, unlike many schools, when you call Morty's to set up private appointments, who do you get in contact with? Morty himself. He is so heavily involved and will answer any question or concern you have. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

The instruction and support I received surpassed all of my expectations and I quickly found my confidence increasing, along with my competence. As each day came and went I found myself very naturally gaining the skills necessary to feel comfortable and safe on the bikes, almost without even thinking about it. Phil, Geoff, Sam, and Scott were amazing. They knew our names from the get-go and provided targeted, highly specific feedback to us throughout the lessons, and it resulted in me feeling ready to tackle riding on the road.

Took motorcycle lessons here and was an overall good experience. At the yard they really want you to know your stuff instead of just giving you the rubber stamp to progress. It just gets easier then on. Had a little bit of special case paperwork wise but these people went out of their way to make sure I went to the exam as planned.

Being a trainer myself, I know how challenging it is to engage students and show them real world examples they can relate to. Firas (Phil) has been an absolutely incredible instructor. He always uses references to help you understand why you're doing what you're doing. For example, for years I heard horror stories of parallel parking, but with Phil, he taught me a few simple rules and within five minutes I was parking as if I had been driving for 30 years. If you are looking to learn how to drive as an adult, or if you want a safe instructor to show your children the best way to drive, there is no one better than Phil at Morty's Driving School. I am seriously impressed, and would easily recommend him to anyone even remotely nervous about learning how to drive. 5 stars all the way! Remember, ask for Phil!

Honestly I’m borderline retarded when it comes to driving I originally attended a driving school in Lasalle, After finishing all my theory classes plus extra driving classes I was still rusty And dusty... until I found Mortys driving school. They provide the service you need. Their not all about the money, they give you your full 60-120 min plus the price is affordable. Oren was my instructor He was amazing, very calm and patient , excellent educator. I took 5 extra classes, he brought me in the locations where the Saaq would bring me on my actual exam.. I Took the test today and I PASSED... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!!!!

Extremely helpful class, teachers are there to instruct but also make sure you are safe, they explain every bit of the course very clearly and make sure everyone, whatever their level might be, progress while feeling confortable. They are aware of who they are teaching to and adapt to make sure everyone progresses. Once you are on the road, they will, without telling you, take some groups that they see are more at ease on more highways, some group that struggle a little more will be guided on secondary roads where they can rehearse the more "basic" skills. Overall, very great experience, I would recommend this school to anyone doing their bike license!

My eldest daughter went to Morty's for her driver's license, and she aced it at the exam - it was a day of ice, sleet and snow when she went to the SAAQ (February), and she still aced it, proof she had great preparation at Morty's. We are thrilled today to see her driving skills and we let her take the car with confidence. My youngest daughter is now starting her driver's course at Morty's. As for me, I just finished my motorcycle course at Morty's. Truly, the instructors (I had the pleasure to work with Phil, Mel and Gerry mostly) went above and beyond and strived to teach not the bare minimum skills to pass the exam, like many schools (most?) are used to do, but they put lots of emphasis on the more advanced skills necessary to survive the urban jungle and be an alert rider. Gerry really was a mentor during the 4 x 4 hours practice in the city! I am well positioned to say that the instruction was above and beyond the other schools, as I had previously done my motorcycle course many years ago, but had stopped riding and let my permit lapse. The instruction I had at Morty's was leaps above what I had before, and I suspect is the top in Montreal. Do yourself a favor, if you wanna ride a motorcycle, don't gamble with your life and go get the best instruction and preparation.

I signed up to get my regular class 5 license. This is back 5 years ago. I got my license 2 years ago and never ended up rating this driving school. Price wise, I cannot compare since I do not know what other places are offering. However, this driving school REALLY focuses on success of its students. The instructors are amazing ( I was lucky to work with Jack and Guy) and the team all together are very extraordinary people. I got everything done one shot. The driving exam at the saaq was worrying me, so one of the owners sons actually took me on the possible route of the exam to help me practice before my actual exam. There aren’t enough “thank you”s in the universe to express how grateful I am to have chosen this school. Highly would recommend for any ages.

Morty and Oren were so helpful, really great instructors. They really put in the time and effort to make you a great driver. The staff is always there to help answer any questions you may have. If you want to take Motorcycle driving lessons, just save your time searching and go to Morty's. Do yourself a favor. I haven't been to other schools to tell you the difference, but I was very happy with my experience at Morty's. 1. I passed my closed circuit exam from the first attempt and on a rainy day!!! 2. The office staff Orin and Galit are very friendly and easy to deal with 3. The motorcycle instructors at Morty's are amazing, they really are what makes Morty's a great motorcycle riding school. What's great is that each staff member has their completely different personality than the other, and they are all great instructors, funny and respectful. They WILL all be tough on you, otherwise you will never learn. They WILL never take shortcuts and make you risk your life ( driving a motorcycle is nothing to be taken lightly), and if needed they WILL NOT let you go on the road or pass the course until they are sure you are apt to ride. They let me on the road right after the 16 hour block but I decided to take extra lessons before going on the road as they showed me how important it is to stay safe, before anything else. Phil, Townsend, Melanie, Scott, Gerard, Chris - all great instructors...I really thank you guys for the great experience and looking forward to my Open road training next summer :))))

Went to Morty's for motorcycle. They teach you on maneuvering on low speeds (which is what you need to pass the close circuit exam) really well that by the time you're done the course, the maneuvers that were the hardest actually become the most enjoyable because you know how to do them with high proficiency. Overall, had a great experience with Morty's from the instructors to the classes and Morty himself. Thank you!

I got my license here years ago, the owner is a mensch and his two sons are super nice. I was working full-time and couldn't attend the classes during their regular hours, and they went above & beyond to accommodate me. One of the owners sons even wrote a novel, he's super bright and I'd love to give it a read! Apart from that, I just want to say: to anyone leaving feedback on a business page; I recommend you evaluate yourself as a client first. Are you a decent human being? Do you treat staff members with dignity and respect? It's way too easy to destroy a businesses reputation online these days! Lastly: ask for Erik when you do your actual courses IN the car with an instructor. He's very patient and has a soothing presence :)

No.1 motocycle driving school in Montreal. The instructors are super professional and most importantly : they treat us like family. I had an unforgettable experience with mortys. I would highly recommend this school since they do have a very high passing rate for closed track exam compared to other schools. And everything is well arranged you don’t even have to book the exam. My favorite instructor is phill. He is so kind and on my exam day, he gave me lots of advice before my turn, and explained other students’ mistakes during the exam. That was really really helpful. I’ll definitely come back to mortys after 11 months for my open road test !! ( and also theoretical classes weren’t boring at all, itineraries for on-road training were super nice. I love it ! Originally I did my driving classes at Tecnic. During my second to last in car lesson, I had an instructor who kept on repeating that I’ll never get my licence if I drive like that at the exam and stuff like are you trying to kill me? All in all I’ve never hated driving so much. Eventually I got another instructor and managed to finish school. I’ve done my first saw exam a few months later and failed, obviously. Then, in between my second exam and the first one, I took one single lesson with Morty’s, one week before that second try. I managed to learn more during that one class than in the two years’ of driving with Tecnic. In the end, Oren, one of the instructors was actually really cool. When finished, he told me some points on which I should improve and even gone as far as sending me different techniques for parking, etc. Awesome, one week after the drive with Morty’s, I had my SAAQ exam and passed, yes PASSED, and the examiner told me that I drive really good etc etc. I passed thanks to that one class with this school. I actually thank them a lot for helping out and if I could, I’d give like 10 stars. Professionalism and quality of instruction is on fleek ???????? 150% recommend to anyone who wishes to drive in the future.

This must be THE WORST SCHOOL in the world, I would give 0 stars if I could. The teachers are arrogant, obnoxious and unprofessional, the kind that puff cigarettes during the class and blow smoke in your face and always chatting on their phone. The motorcycles are old and in a bad shape and that parking lot where the classes are is just pathetic.

Att: For those looking to Morty's for a Motorcycle license, read this. I thought about writing this review for a while... It's now been a year since I took my classes, passed my 6A exam and in a nutshell yes, Morty's was effective at teaching the basics and helping you pass the exams. However, having said that there are some complaints I have about the teachers and the way that they run the school like a business which is why I'm writing this review under my anonymous Gmail account. The main issue I have with the teachers (specifically with the woman) is that they aren't attentive and can be quite rude. I was one of the few from my group that was told I had to log some additional hours (at an added cost) before I would be ready for the road practice hours and when I asked her why she singled me out, she claimed that I stalled the bike frequently, was riding too rough through the counter steering cones and that I put my right foot down too much -and yes, in the first class (or two) I did a stall a couple times but by the last closed track practice class, I didn't stall once and I admit, I did put my right foot down once that day but when it happened, I was not in her line of sight, she was on her phone with her back to me and the other teacher was in the washroom. It was at that point that I realized the teachers weren't watching us very attentively and from then on I made a point to see if the teachers were keeping their eye on me or any of us -and I swear, every time I looked over at them, or any time I drove past them, they were either chatting to each other, ignoring the students, or they were on their phones. When she confronted me at the end of the class, she told me she yelled some tips at me but her voice carries and I am 100% certain she never said a damn word to me all night and that's when I realized that she had me mistaken for another individual in my group that (ethnically) looked and dressed like me. My sentiments about her misjudgement were confirmed when I spoke to other classmates that told me that she had called them repeatedly by another person's name, or mistook their jersey number for someone else (we wore bright yellow vests with numbers on them). Then finally, the day I showed up for my extra hours, the male teacher (who I admittedly liked much better and who actually seemed to get to know some of us a bit) promptly put me on a bike, didn't go over any extra tips or advice, we hit the road immediately and after our hour session was up he said "great work, you're ready for the road" which again, confirmed to me that I was either mistaken for another rider in our class when I was told I needed to do more hours OR that this is just a shady business practice in which the teachers are told they have to select 2-3 individuals per group that are to log additional hours ($$$) before they can proceed. Personally, I didn't really mind getting in an extra practice hour on a bike so I didn't complain about it at the time and riding one on one with the teacher was quite fun but I definitely didn't like the way that woman spoke to me, how she handled the situation or how the whole thing felt from a (paying) student's perspective. When I returned for a full road class with other students, I also mentioned my experience about this to other students and two of them told me they had the exact same situation, where they was accused of specific weak points that didn't make any sense with how they was riding and they also agreed that the extra hours were likely a cash grab. Now after all this would I recommend Morty's to friends? Yeah, I guess so. It got me to where I wanted to be but you can be certain that I will I warn them of this cash grab. Hopefully someone from Morty's will see this 2 star review and learn that their teachers need to be a little more attentive, present and involved with the with their students on the closed track.

Great experience. Instructors have good communications skills and it is easy to understand their more technical instructions. As with all people, some are harder than others, but all worked to make sure we were ready to hit the road in a safe manner. The format of the practical driving class is well thought out and is a good progression from start to finish. The instructors adjusted to the level of the class as we went along to give some more in-depth and technical maneuvers for the stronger riders. Morty himself was helpful in trying to schedule our courses/practices at the end of the season. We were the last class that could do the exam in 2018. Morty worked hard to get everything done in the shortest possible timeline to meet the SAAQ schedule. I highly recommend Mortys motorcycle courses.

I rode a motorcycle for 4 years in university in the days before you needed a separate motorcycle licence, and thought the course would be just a formality to get my licence. The instructors at Morty's adjust to all levels of riders and really push you. They were great with beginners, and for myself really pushed me to develop valuable riding/control skills I had never learned. I though the closed track riding would be boring but actually found it the most challenging. My son has taken the course with Mortys also, and my daughter is now planning to take the course. Lets just say, out of 10 Morty's students. 10 out of 10 will pass saaq exams first try ( most of the time). Meanwhile half of the students from other schools will fail on first exam. THAT is EXACTLY what happened today at my saaq closed track exam. Obviously I go to Morty's and passed. That goes to show you how good the instructors are at this school.

Extra courses are required for weaker individuals, which carry additional costs. But at the end of the day, i feel like a better driver and more prepared to hit the dangerous MTL roads. Everyone at Morty's is sincerely committed to making you a competent and safe driver. In the days before my road test I ran into some extremely stressful last-minute problems, and both Oren (my classroom teacher) and Tze (my driving instructor) made time to answer all of my questions. Took my last theory class tonight in DDO but spend most of the classes at the Decarie location and had superb teachers who made sure we received all the knowledge in order to study properly for the SAAQ test (both road and theory). Just got my drivers license and motorcycle license here! What an operation they have running, no wonder why they've been open for 42 years. With talking to some of the motorcycle instructors as well as my driving instructor in the car I found out that they go through rigorous training up and above what the government requires. Oren helped me out by giving me review lessons prior to my road test. I have completed all required lessons at another school, but I needed extra lessons as I don't have family here and no other schools could fit me in due to the pandemic backlog. From the beginning it felt like I got into a family,teachers and instructors are very experienced and talented,it was interesting to listen and learn from them! They made sure I got my license ASAP, all my classes were close to each other,no gaps,i had my test at saaq almost right after my last road class. everything was planned ahead and I didn’t have to stress about anything! +Morty himself were there for my close circuit test and explained the whole test a million times for me over and over until I got it! I got my car license in another school at it was nothing like Mortys! Amazing school,I doubt that it’s possible to get better experience than that! THANK YOU MORTYS!

I went into Morty’s office on Decarie I and met Mrs. Morty’s. She gave some very useful tips to prepare me for the written test without which I would not have passed. She then gave me Oren’s phone number to book some lessons. Oren is an patient & excellent instructor at Morty’s. He helped me through the entire process of getting my licence. He went above and beyond in every way from sending me a video of the route and texting me helpful tips on parking. His lessons were very useful. He went with me for the test and that was very helpful as well in relaxing me. Incredible service I would recommend them 110%!!!!! Mazel Tov Oren and have a great honeymoon!!!!!

Morty's completely lives up to its reputation. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. You can pick the right in-car instructor for you. Shoutout to Erik, he's always both calm and perceptive, I highly recommend. In comparison to all that I've heard of other schools, I'd say Morty's driving instructors are top tier. I passed my knowledge and in-car tests on the first try. When I needed help with something last minute, they went above and beyond what was required of them - they really want their students to succeed. You can't go wrong by choosing this school.

They stopped their entire class on top of the Mount-Royal where you aren't allowed to park because of the bike path only to have a vape and chill. When brought up to the attention of the company, they made no idicaion that this was out of the ordinary and they even lied about "an emergency"... This tells me all I need about their professionalism.

Great experience ! Definitely recommend Morty's Driving school to anyone who wishes to start their drivers/motorcycle license. I did my motorcycle classes with them and the instructors were very helpful and professional. It was clear from the start of my course that the students safety on the road was their number one priority. The test prep they offer for the closed circuit exam is also very helpful. Thanks to them, I was able to pass my closed circuit exam at the SAAQ on the 10th of September.
