Hello, my name is George. I have pleasure to write comments and references about driving school "TransCanada" on St-Laurent in front of M. Du College, Montreal. I was student during a month. I took a driving classes for class 1. I very satisfied with services, which school is provided. They have reasonable prices for driving classes and web training theory knowledge test. It's very helpful for beginners to get knowledge in this field. But most important they always answer the phone, when you have questions, even if you call them at evening time out of working time. They very polite and in same time you feel that they care about you and not about pull your money. p.s. you know what I mean. They support me, when I struggle by driving the truck. I tell you true, for me was very hard time, but eventually I got it. And today I passed a driving test. In the end I would like express my gratefulness for Mr. Farhad, my instructor from TransCanada, who was teaching me how to drive safely and economically the truck two units 72 feet long. Thank you Mr. Farhad for your patience, politeness and kindness. I learn a lot from you. I am very grateful that you treat me with dignity and patience, when I did some mistakes by driving. And you never scream or upset. Thanks that you share with me a little secrets and tricks how to do back up. In this case I finally!! I did straight buck up from 90 degrees in one attempt in the test. Probably fake/paid reviews with 4-5 stars. I had booked an appointment with this school, sent two emails (6 days apart) and waited for a re-confirmation. To my surprise, when I called them to reconfirm, I found out they never made any appointment. When I asked if this is the level of service they offered, they hung up on my face. *Extremely* unprofessional. Seriously, stay away.

Looking for a driving school? I strongly recommend Trans Canada, opposite metro Du Collège, to you. Administratively, this school is well-organized and has full respect for time and appointments. The administrator's reminders are timely. She is also so respectful. Financially, its fees are relatively cheap and installment payment is pocket-friendly. My teaching experience in this school is second to none. Experienced and patient teachers, they will work on your weaknesses and build on your strength. My teacher's multilingual skill is an asset. He is able to digest and well explain, with the patience of the Pope, the course content and provide extra information which will enable you to pass your knowledge and driving tests. Questions are excellently answered. He also draws a lot from his bottomless well of experience, which is a plus, given that the modules alone could be abstract and theoretical. I really admire Omar, my in-class teacher. Tolerance and respect for diversity are his hallmarks. I wish there were more stars, I would've given Trans Canada more than 5 stars. Bravo Trans Canada and more grease to your elbow.

I had a great time with Trans Canada. I got my Class 1 license today on my first attempt itself. Thank You Ferhet, my instructor and other two instructors William and Peiry (Apologise if i spelled in wrongly) I took automatic one but I got a chance to practice on manual too, and all three instructors are good with me, they tried their best to correct my weaknesses points. All three instructors are good in communication, punctuality and I really appreciate their patience with students. There was no short cuts but only straight way to the license. They don’t allow us to pass the exam through a back door, and it’s not possible. And in case if there is any mechanical problem with truck they will try their best to fix it as soon as possible. I recommend Trans Canada, to those all aspirants who look for Class 1 licence. And wish you good luck with your exam. Once again thank you Trans Canada driving school and my instructors.

From the first call my experience with them is so positive, they offer a really good service and my trainer Ferhet always take time with me and make sure I understand perfectly. I toke my classes from Star Driving, I failed my driving exam on first attempt. I went toke appointment at this driving institution, my driving teacher explained me my mistakes and he fought me how can I correct those mistakes, so I can pass my exam. I toke some extra classes and when my teacher told I am ready for the exam, I went to give my driving test and I passed it. good school, only because Mr. Farhad is the most patient and most understanding teacher you`ll ever find. i had a lot of trouble back with trans quebec ( never go back there ) but with Mr. Farhad and 30+ hours made me achieve my class 1. I myself is high maintenance person but with this teacher you will NEVER go wrong with him and you`ll feel very comfortable with this person. on the first day with this teacher i never know how to double clutch properly in matter of hours and tries i was able to get it flawless. Again, good school ONLY because of Mr. Farhad!

First, I went to the Top Hand driving school whose owner and instructor Akhtar Mahmoud. I made a contract with him for 30 h practice, 3 times exam, etc etc etc. As soon as he received the full amount of money $ 1900 , he dishonerd the contract and stuck me approx. 8 months and finished 23 h (1 h=45 m) road pratice with zero technic. Then I went to Trans Canada driving school and took my class 1 license. Mr. Forhad is a very skilled and professional teacher /instructor. He showed me all essential and easy technic. He is an amiable gentlemen. His co-instructor Mr Federico also a good instructor. I recomment to start with Trans Canada and get your license............

If you are like I was, you want to get your class 1 license, but you don’t want to give 5 months of your life to a full time school program, so you are looking for a school that will allow you to get your class 1 for a reasonable price, in a reasonable amount of time. After looking around in Montreal, this is the driving school I chose to go for. I signed up for the class 1 course and paid $1,700 for 20 hours of training + $255 to rent the truck for the exam. I took the class strictly on the automatic so no shifting to learn because 20 hours of training is not a lot for a big truck. 20 hours was enough to get me ready for the class 1 exam with the help and expertise of Mr. Ferhet, Mr. Bill and Mr. Piro who were all great teachers. I passed the exam on my first try. If you listen to Mr. Ferhet and you study your inspection and you are careful at the exam, there is no question you can get your class 1 license with 20 hours of training from this driving school.

I started with one another driving school That is located in verdun. I am was such an uncomfortable and felt like wasted my time and money, so i switched to trans canada I was inexperienced driver and was first time to touch the wheel , So I was looking from basics. The knowledge material is also as important as being on a road so trans canada make sure that you are attentive in class, make you learn with examples and then with the same real ways they make you comfort on the road and how to implement the knowledge on the road at right time with right attitude and i don’t hesitate to repeat the questions to my instructors and they are also happy to answer again and again until you write well in your mind and follow-up. I have the best times in this school . And soon hopefully will get my license in hand with all the hard work of mine and trans canada staff. I started my classes in early November. Mrs Narjes had a warm welcome with strong elaboration of the possibilities of my needs. I got schedule according to their availability. I am truck owner so that I figured out the truck they are using is in very good conditions and the instructor "Mr Ferhat" is very nice and skillful in both road driving and the inspection along with reverse (Backup). I had a few times inspection with him and I've got the points. It even helped me and increased my chance of succeeding in the first time. I'm very many so grateful with school and I strongly recommend it. Take your time and comply Mr Ferhat's lessons, then you will be happy. Good luck to everyone and God bless You.

I have done my class 1 training with Trans Canada, and got my license in April 2013 (on my 2nd test, in fact, the first exam I lost because of my mistake). They are well equipped, and have nice vehicles. The equipment I had my training was 2003 Volvo, which has done only 400,000KMS!!! Every single penny you spend with them worth it. I really cannot recall any situation where I had to be idle/wastage of my time. My trainers, Mr. Fahad & Ms. Kiran were very friendly and cooperative. They will not give you just some training only to attend the exams. Mr. Fahad is well versed in identifying the pros and cons of the student, and adopts the training method as deem necessary to improve. They will never let you drive only thru the exam zone, but also will take you to areas out of exam zone. Unlike any other driving institutes in Montreal, I took the wheels to road after 10 minutes on my first day with the instructor. The total time I wasted was around 30 minutes, during my total 90hours training. 10 minutes I lost on the first day as Mr. Fahad was explaining general idea on the overall control of the vehicle. Another 20 minutes I lost, when he was explaining me the methods to follow during the backup. Though I had driving experience back home, I have learnt many new techniques from Mr. Fahad, and of course, I strongly recommend Trans Canada for any personal who wants to explore career in trucking. Trans Canada doesn’t have any contract with any of the trucking companies, and no placements are offered. It is your luck to find a job!

The teachers are great, but the management is very unorganized, they have scheduled classes and would tell me on the day the class was supposed to be held that there is no class and that they have made a mistake.. and things like these “happens”. I always confirm 24 hours before to ensure I don’t waste my time. This happend twice. They do not follow up on their students, if a student wants to do their classes (modules), they will have to call because Trans Canada won’t. Not recommending this school at all.

I was referred to Trans Canada from my employer Canadian Pacific Railway for a class 3 license and what a wonderful experience it was. They were very professional and worked around my schedule. My instructor mr. Ferhet was very experienced, professional and friendly and he showed me everything I needed to pass my class 3 exam including learning to drive manual, pre trip inspection circle check and how to properly drive a truck. Very helpful staff, and professional too. My name is Vitalie and I write this review for the fellows that want to learn how to drive a truck and obtain their class one driver’s license. It is a very sincere and, I hope, helpful review for those that are really interested not only in passing their exam, but, also in learning how to safely drive a heavy truck! I want to begin by mentioning that I will try to be as objective as possible this is why i will talk not only about the things i liked about Trans-canda, but also about things that, from my point of view, can be improved! First of all, I want to mention that all three class 1 instructors that I had the opportunity to encounter are very professional. Mr Farhet is a teacher by vocation! I never saw him nervous, although I used to grind a lot while shifting into gears. He is always calm and patient. The most of my 20 lessons I have learned from him. I didn’t like that sometimes he was answering the phone while I was driving, and at the beginning I was frustrated about that, but after a while I wanted his phone to ring so that I could take decisions on my own! This way for several minutes, It was almost like driving the truck alone, and this boosted my self-confidence. I liked a lot Mr’s Farhet technique of using specific fingers for shifting in different gears. It was very helpful for mastering the shifting on a manual transmission. I didn’t like that from the second lessons I have already started downshifting, while in my head it was a mess and I didn’t fully understand what I was doing. Nevertheless, I was very impressed when on the first lesson I drove the truck, coupled to the trailer, on the road during the rush on teh streets of Montreal. It was very helpful to feel Mr's Farhet hand when shifting, but after 14 lessons I was already addicted to his hand. I think students have to start shifting on their own gradually, after the 2nd lesson, in the second gear, after 5th lesson in second and third gear, after 7th lesson in the 4th and so on. Nevertheless, I believe Mr Farhet is an exceptional instructor and a top class professional! Only a real professional can afford to take on the road, the inexperienced student that he saw for the first time. I felt very relaxed while driving with Mr. Farhet, he helped me building the confidence every lesson little by little, until I finally passed my practical exam from the first time, even with a very demanding inspector from the SAAQ. About instructor Rick, I can say that he doesn’t have a lot of pedagogical talent or knowledge, but he is an excellent and a very experienced driver. He was impulsive at times, but he helped me to become autonomous while shifting. He was motivating me to shift alone by allowing me to shift myself as long as I am not grinding. He assisted me with the double clutching technic and learned me couple very useful practical tricks such as how to shift without event touching the clutch, he helped me to improve my downshifting. Bill is the third instructor that I have worked with, I appreciate him a lot! He helped me with the pre-trip inspection. He is very experienced friendly and calm. He emphasized my strong points, that helped me build self-confidence as well. First I was upset when I had to do the lesson with someone else but Mr. Farhet, now I am happy that I had the opportunity to meet and learn from each one of them. As I already mentioned, I have learned how to drive a class one manual transmission truck in 20 lessons, from scratch. I have passed my practical exam from the first time, even though I had a very, very demanding inspector! Today I have passed my pre-trip inspection from the second attempt, without even repeating or additional preparations, just went to the exam and got it. I have learned about Transcanada and chose this school by reading other students review. This is why, I hope, my review might be useful for others in making their choice. I am happy I didn’t go to other schools and that I didn’t ruin my self-esteem and confidence! I wish you all good luck in finding the best trucking school for you!

We found more than 90% of good reviews of this school but some of them was not really good. We thought there's might be some truth in bad reviews but when we called them to get info , the lady gave all the answers of our questions and explained everything well. Then we decided to register and went to the office for it. Their management is excellent. She gave us reasonable price. Then we all went together to meet Mr Ferhet, after meeting we asked him many questions and he answered very professionally and politely. I took the 30h package and passed my exam at first attempt. I wanted to learn get my Class 1 licence for trucking - checked few names of some so called good schools in Montreal and made a decision to join CFRM spent at least 40 hours learning result was Big 0 and then joined Universal Driving School spent 30 hours result again was Big 0. Imagine in what kind of mental state I must be as I thought of forgetting the idea of getting Class 1 licence as I wasted do much of money and learnt nothing. Then I thought why not let try and one last time and I went to Transcanada Driving School and I explained to the concerned person for registration Madam Nargis that I have been 2 Schools and have been failure, so said please I do understand your problem but take a couple of lessons from our driving school if you like continue otherwise you do not waste your money. Then next day I get a call from my instructor Mr Farhat Khan who tells me I am your instructor and you have a class the next day, I went to him and he gave me literally 30 minutes to understand my problems which I was facing, he heard me out with necessary patience and then told me that he will try his best and did not talk big big like other schools. The very first day he took me on the road and my back up was horrible, terrible and scary. Mr Khan"s training method is totally practical n different, he first totally read me in and out and made my training strategy the way I could understand, this strategy he used till 80% of my training and I was getting confident but my instructor was still not satisfied with my training, as I was still learning the way which suited my style but my style he said he used in a improvised manner meaning he polished it so I could learn but this method will not make successful in getting the class 1 license, now Mr Khan said - You got to use more of Right Hand and put your hand at the right position along with your hand, this was it. You guys are not going to believe my success rate in back up was almost 100% now, Front Driving and Pre Inspection / Circle Check all were top of the line, and I got my Class 1 licence in my first attempt itself, its all because of Mr Khan my main instructor and Mr Willams who used to train just on weekends. The training which Mr Khan was extremely intense and my progress was watched by him like an eagle thats the reason why from BIG 0 I BECAME HERO, A REAL HERO, JUST BECAUSE OF TRANCANADA DRIVING SCHOOL WHO HAD THE PATIENCE TO HEAR MY DRIVING PROBLEMS AND PUT SUCH INTENSE TRAINING PRACTICE AND WATCHED MY PROGRESSION FROM LEVEL TO NEXT LEVEL VERY PATIENTLY. Trust me, this school and the instructors in it, are so amazing, you will be prepared for the exam before even the time for it comes. My admiration to my road instructor, Mr Farhat. This gentlemen, with his teaching in University background, and 22 years experience as driving instructor, possesses the ability to take all the stress away from you and break your fear from the big truck, strait on the first driving lesson. Class after class, starting from the first day, he will provide you simple, but carefully selected instructions, which will turn you into a self-confident and well prepared for the real road environment, truck driver. I have to confess that, I have been already driving a truck, for few years, mainly on the Highway with my husband with a Learning permit. He is an excellent truck driver, the best I know, but he is not a good teacher. He was not able to help me overcome my fear from the road exam for Class 1 licence. With Mr Farhat's teaching experience and methods, I was able to pass it at the first attempt with a manual truck. A great "Thank you!", Mr Farhat! :) The Circle inspection of the truck and the backing up are the other two parts of the exam. This success of mine, I owe not only to Mr Farhat, but the wonderful Mr Bill, who demonstrated me, that it is possible, and tough me, to do the inspection for less than 20 minutes. It is great school. I had a great experience and professional training in short period of time. I would say it is the BEST school in the city . I have seen students coming from other schools spending tons of money and time and then getting proper training from Transcanada driving school and getting there class 1 licence. Teachers are great and always willing to help you Mr Piro and Mr Bill. A very warm and welcoming manager, Mme Nargis will give you a breakddown of the options you have for financing, hours, driving options, schedule, etc. I was interested in driving a manual truck in the beginning, but later switched to automatic because it was much easier for me (they let me try both). Mr. Farhat, the owner of the business and one of the instructors has a great team. I had an amazing experience with all the instructors there and they all know what they are doing. They are well behaved and respect you. The contrast from the previous school that I went (I won't name the school) is like going from 0 to a 100 real quick. I ended up taking around 40 hours of sessions which include inspection, driving in the city and the highway and 45 degree backing. All these parts are required to pass the test at the SAAQ and I passed on the first try in Laval. Mr Farhat will tell you when you are ready for the exam so you need to listen to him. I am very grateful to Mr. Farhat and his team for teaching me how to operate a class 1 vehicle.

Let me tell you about my experience with Trans Canada driving school for Class 1. I chose Trans Canada driving school not by reviews buy by location. Next time I will reed reviews first. 1. Office organisation was good (especially, when you owe them money). 2. Mr. Farahat main teacher was good on teaching but BAD with scheduling my classes with him. 3. Mr. Bill is very good in teaching you how to back up from scratch. 4. Mr. Omar THE BEST TEACHER in the school. If I knew this in the beginning I definitely choose classes with him. 5. Over all, I took me 3 month to obtain a Class 1 instead of 1 month (some people pass in 2 weeks) and around 1200.00$ more. 6. In the end office supported me with some information about companies which hiring new drivers. This was my lesson that I pass and learn from it. Thanks for all teachers for there time and patience. It’s a total waste of money First they keep delaying your theory classes as they don’t have enough students for it and then they charge you extra bugs for file renewal Their instructors come 10 minutes late and leave 10 minutes early.When you book driving class with an instructor and then you are surprised by an unknown person who is unfamiliar with teaching driving without your prior knowledge. When you request to change the instructor, he gets his own car with safety break and after an hour he denies you to teach further on the ground that you are not good driver and then you are redirected to the new person whom you denied previously. I didn’t pass my test but after I failed , I took private lessons from one of the instructor whom I met only once. Now I’m confident enough to drive a car and planning to book my test soon! So won’t recommend to anyone as I don’t want you to dump your money in 0 return investment Thanks!

I was looking for the best truck driving school in Montreal with the best reviews and Trans -Canada had the best ones. It was important to me to be tough from the best instructors and learn good driving habits from the beginning . Miss Nurgass, the administrator (a wonderful and caring person ) guided me threw the theory process of passing the theory exam. The driving part was done by M.Fareit witch i have the greatest respect. Highly experienced instructor (over 25 years ) honest and professional , he tough me everything i now today. Friction point, smooth double clutching ,shifting , down shifting and backing up . The trucks a Volvo 13 speed was always clean and in great mechanical condition. M.Fareit was always on time for my lessons and i had a great time learning from an experienced and knowledgeable person. He prepared me well for my exam by practicing in exam zones .Thank you M.Fareit. Thank you Daniel the experienced instructor(over 25 Years) for teaching me how to back up and the special technic to back up in very tight areas. Thank you William bill a highly experienced instructor (over 25 years) that tough me how to back up and prepared me for my exam. Terrible experience in this school. I paid in advance for 2 hours truck driving practice, the instructor called the practice finish with 30 minutes earlier than the time I paid. I complained it to Farhat Khan, he said he could compensate me 30 minutes practice only if I buy another 2 hours practice from them. Ironically, he always said "I will make my students smile". Don't believe it. This school is a trap, they don't respect your requests, even if they promise to satisfy your requirements in the beginning, they won't do it. Think about it before you pay your money and spend your time on this school.
