(Translated) Scam Alert! This driving school is the worst of the worst. If the SAAQ took the trouble to inspect schools using 'mystery shoppers', this company would be forced to radically change its way of doing things. I did my classes with 2 other schools (since I moved from region to region) so I can compare, and it doesn't even compare. First, the only good thing: I've had Mr. Rafik on my outings (practice) and he's really great. Affable, attentive, precise, etc. This means that he really contrasts with the rest of the staff. 1. The quality of the theoretical lessons is poor ... the "teacher" expresses himself so badly that it is difficult to follow. Syntax / grammar / etc errors in almost every sentence. Extreme carelessness, absurdity, bad jokes, zero energy, discomfort in the classroom. And I am not a very demanding person. In addition, they gave me more than 90% of the lessons in English even though I asked for French ... wow! Sometimes even French / English during the same course (to save some cash probably ... illegal?), It was super painful to try to follow. 2. The secretary made a mistake and sent the Zoom link to the wrong email address (typo, she received an error email back and did nothing!). When I saw that I was not receiving the Zoom link, I tried to call for 2 days, I sent them an email ... No response! Finally I would have to pay them $ 125 because I have to sign a new contract for the ONLY course I have left (because of this error, which delayed the end of my module). On the phone I am told that it is I who am wrong and that they are generous not to have charged me the absence expenses (for one of their mistakes) ... the world upside down! The only mistake I made was paying my balance before the last price and I lost my only trading leverage. Bad idea when you do business with them. If you do venture into Carthage, make sure you always have a balance (a balance to be paid on the bill). Basically, I'm treated like a thief because I refuse to pay for their mistake! When they see that it doesn't work with me, hey hey, they go down to $ 75… and it doesn't work anymore, because it's no longer a question of money… You have to call a spade a spade: c ' is extortion. After two cumulative hours on the phone if not more, I ended up picking up my file to do my last class elsewhere (imagine what it takes to get there). Also, if you don't raise your voice, nothing changes. They operate under threats and even there ... I had to say that I was in contact with my lawyer so that they give me my certificate. 3. For months they didn't answer the phone (OK it was the pandemic, but still). Nothing, no news from school for 3-4 months. But otherwise, in my experience, they respond about 1 in 5 times and often don't call back even if you leave a message for them. They could have continued on Zoom quickly, contacted us to tell us the truth, but it took them months and months to finally respond. 3. Bad date, you show up and they deny you had a date that day. I myself have been the victim of their secretarial errors and have heard similar testimonies at the reception. 4. It's pretty obvious they have some bogus 5 star reviews on this page. The rest is pretty much all 1 star with horror stories ... If I had to try to guess what's going on: they take 2x TOO MANY students for what they are able to handle. So they are systematically late and the staff are under pressure. And about the money, I don't know what to say except that they're dishonest. (Original) Alerte à l’arnaque ! Cette école de conduite c’est le pire du pire. Si la SAAQ prenait la peine d'inspecter les écoles au moyen de 'clients-mystère', cette entreprise serait forcée de changer radicalement ses manières de faire. J’ai fait mes cours avec 2 autres écoles (vu que je me suis déplacé de région en région) donc je peux comparer, et ça ne se compare même pas. Premièrement, le seul point positif : j’ai eu M. Rafik lors de mes sorties (pratique) et il est vraiment génial. Affable, attentionné, précis, etc. C'est donc dire qu'il contraste vraiment avec le reste du personnel. 1. La qualité des cours théoriques est nulle… le « professeur » s’exprime tellement mal qu'il en est difficile à suivre. Fautes de syntaxe/grammaire/etc à chaque phrase ou presque. Nonchalance extrême, absurdité, mauvaises blagues, zéro énergie, malaises dans la classe. Et je ne suis pas une personne très demandante. De plus, ils m’ont donné plus que 90% des cours en anglais même si j’ai demandé français… wow ! Parfois même français/anglais durant le même cours (pour sauver du cash sans doute... illégal ?), c’était super pénible à essayer de suivre. 2. La secrétaire a fait une erreur et a envoyé le lien Zoom à la mauvaise adresse courriel (faute de frappe, elle a reçu un courriel d’erreur en retour et n’a rien fait !). Quand j'ai vu que je ne recevais pas le lien Zoom, j'ai essayé d'appeler durant 2 jours, je leur ai envoyé un courriel... Pas de réponse ! Finalement il faudrait que je les paie 125$ parce qu’il faut signer un nouveau contrat pour le SEUL cours qui me reste (à cause de cette erreur, qui a retardé la fin de mon module). Au téléphone on me dit que c’est moi qui suis dans l’erreur et qu’ils sont généreux de ne pas m’avoir chargé les frais d’absence (pour une de leurs erreurs) … le monde à l’envers ! La seule erreur que j’ai commise c’est de régler mon solde avant le dernier cours et j’ai perdu mon seul levier de négociation. Mauvaise idée quand on fait affaire avec eux. Si vous vous aventurez dans Carthage, assurez-vous de toujours avoir un solde (une balance à payer sur la facture). En gros, on me traite comme un voleur parce que je refuse de payer pour leur erreur ! Quand ils voient que ça ne marche pas avec moi, tiens tiens, ils baissent à 75$… et ça ne marche pas plus, parce que ce n'est plus une question d'argent… Il faut appeler un chat un chat : c'est de l'extorsion. Après deux heures cumulées au téléphone si c'est pas plus, j’ai fini par reprendre mon dossier pour faire mon dernier cours ailleurs (imaginez ce qu'il faut pour en arriver là). De plus, si vous ne haussez pas le ton rien ne bouge. Ils fonctionnent aux menaces et même là... J'ai dû dire que j'étais en contact avec mon avocate pour qu'ils me donnent mon attestation. 3. Pendant des mois ils n’ont pas répondu au téléphone (OK c’était la pandémie, mais quand-même). Rien, aucune nouvelle de l’école pendant 3-4 mois. Mais sinon, selon mon expérience, ils répondent environ 1 fois sur 5 et souvent ne rappellent pas même si vous leur laissez un message. Ils auraient pu continuer sur Zoom rapidement, communiquer avec nous pour nous donner l'heure juste, mais ça leur a pris des mois et des mois pour qu'ils répondent enfin. 3. Mauvais rendez-vous, vous vous pointez et ils nient que vous aviez rendez-vous ce jour-là. J’ai moi-même été victime de leurs erreurs de secrétariat et j’ai entendu des témoignages similaires à la réception. 4. C'est assez évident qu’ils ont des fausses critiques à 5 étoiles sur cette page. Le reste c’est pas mal tout 1 étoile avec histoires d’horreur... Si je devais essayer de deviner ce qui se passe : ils prennent 2x TROP d'élèves pour ce qu'ils sont capables de gérer. Donc ils sont systématiquement en retard et le personnel est sous pression. Et pour l'argent, je ne sais pas quoi dire, sinon qu'ils sont malhonnêtes.

And if you make a mistake, which might happen since you're here to learn, the instructor will blow your mind and let you know you're not good over and over again. Not to mention the fact that classes tend to start 10/15 minutes late, to finish 10 minutes early ... But the worst is the management of this school. First, you are made to sign a contract without providing you with the necessary sheet in the event of termination; it is not particularly serious, but it remains illegal. But now, if you dare to want to terminate your contract (it's your right), good luck in getting reimbursed for what they owe you. To start with they charge the termination fees as they see fit, and then the refund amount calculations are… random. They owe me around $ 145 (amount confirmed by my new driving school as well as by the agents of the Consumer Protection Office), but they started by offering me $ 65, then after disputing, they suddenly calculated 9 $. Without wanting to give me the details of the calculation, and using a clause they added to the contract. Clause which, after verification with the OPC, is illegal. So, they've been killing me for 2 months and refusing to reimburse me. A complaint has been lodged with the AQTR, an investigation file has been opened to the OPR and a formal notice has been sent to them, but they do not care. Ha, and last point, if you hope to speak to a manager, good luck, the phone only allows you to reach the secretary (who is the only kind person in the establishment), and the manager only answers the email when that is. arranges it. Bottom line: if you want quality training, go elsewhere, even if the price is a bit higher. If Carthage is so cheap, there is a reason! EDIT Following the owner's response: I went to school twice, the first time to ask for my file to be closed, and a second time to get my certificate. During these 2 visits I asked for details on the refund and explanations, the only answer I got "you have to contact the manager by email". So either you don't provide the same information to everyone, or you try to clear customs. In addition, the calculations and the statements of account as you say, were explained by email, by phone, directly to your secretary, and again when I came I was told to send you an email. Finally, you have received a formal notice from me, after nearly 2 months without any news from you, containing a complete detail of the calculation, with the comments of the Consumer Protection Office, and you only react now, 5 months after my file was closed. Finally, I am no longer in Quebec now so I cannot come and see you, but on the other hand, if you want to apply the law and make the reimbursement you owe me, do not hesitate to contact me at the email with which I have revived you several times in the last few months and which you have deigned to respond. (Original) Si vous avez prévu de vous faire voler de l'argent c'est l'endroit idéal. J'ai commencé une formation de conduite en juillet 2019 et au début tout se passait plutôt bien, jusqu'à ce que débutent les cours pratiques. L'école ne suit pas correctement le programme de la SAAQ, où chaque cours est supposé être sur un point important de la conduite. Non, ici vous avez un peu l'impression de monter dans la voiture et de rouler, sans but précis, en vous rendant compte que vous êtes en train de faire quasiment le même cours à chaque fois. Et si vous faites une erreur, ce qui risque d'arriver vu que vous êtes là pour apprendre, le moniteur va souffler et vous faire comprendre que vous n'êtes pas doué, encore et encore. Sans parler du fait que les cours ont tendance à commencer 10/15 minutes en retard, pour finir 10 minutes en avance… Mais le pire, c'est bien la gestion de cette école. Premièrement on vous fait signer un contrat sans vous fournir le feuillet nécessaire en cas de résiliation; ce n'est pas spécialement grave, mais ca reste illégal. Mais voilà, si vous vous avisez de vouloir résilier votre contrat (c'est votre droit), bon courage pour vous faire rembourser ce qu'ils vous doivent. Pour commencer ils facturent les frais de résiliation comme ca les arrangent, et ensuite, les calculs du montant de remboursement sont… aléatoires. Ils me doivent environ 145$ (montant confirmé par ma nouvelle auto-école ainsi que par les agents de l'Office de Protection du Consommateur), mais ils ont commencé par me proposer 65$, puis après avoir contesté, ils ont soudainement calculer 9$. Sans vouloir me donner le détail du calcul, et en utilisant une clause qu'ils ont rajouté au contrat. Clause qui, après vérification auprès de l'OPC, est illégale. Donc, cela fait 2 mois qu'ils font les morts et refusent de me rembourser. Une plainte a été déposée à l'AQTR, un dossier d'enquête est ouvert à l'OPR et une mise en demeure leur a été envoyé, mais il s'en foutent. Ha, et dernier point, si vous espérez parler à un responsable, bonne chance, le téléphone ne vous permet de joindre que la secrétaire (qui est la seule personne aimable de l'établissement), et le directeur ne réponds au mail que quand ca l'arrange. Conclusion: si vous voulez une formation de qualité, allez ailleurs, même si le prix est un peu plus élevé. Si Carthage est si peu chère, il y a une raison ! EDIT Suite à la réponse du propriétaire: Je suis passé à l'école 2 fois, une première fois pour demander la fermeture de mon dossier, et une seconde fois pour récupérer mon attestation. Lors de ces 2 visites j'ai demandé des détails sur le remboursement et des explications, la seule réponse que j'ai eu "il faut contacter le directeur par mail". Donc soit vous ne fournissez pas les mêmes infos à tout le monde, soit vous essayez de vous dédouaner. De plus, les calculs et les états de compte comme vous dites, ont été expliqués par mail, par téléphone, directement à votre secrétaire, et encore une fois lorsque je suis venu on m'a dit de vous envoyer un mail. Pour finir, vous avez reçu une mise en demeure de ma part, après près de 2 mois sans aucune nouvelle de votre part, contenant un détail complet du calcul, avec les commentaires de l'Office de Protection du Consommateur, et vous ne réagissez que maintenant, soit 5 mois après la fermeture de mon dossier. Pour finir, je ne suis plus au Québec actuellement donc je ne peux pas passer vous voir, mais par contre, si vous voulez appliquer la loi et effectuer le remboursement que vous me devez, n'hésitez pas à me contacter au mail avec lequel je vous ai relancé plusieurs fois au cours des derniers mois et auquel vous n'avez daigné répondre.

Not good place and they doesn’t want me to study or take driving course because I was Deaf, they were discriminated the disabilities. Not worth to go there, and better find another place than this.

I had signed up for driving school here just before the first lockdowns in 2020. The school adjusted their methods accordingly to continue to give the theory (via Zoom) and practical lessons. Happy to say, with the help and guidance of the instructors I got to work with, I passed both my theoretical exams and my practical exam on the first try. Rafik even offered to meet me by the SAAQ, to drive for a few hours before my practical exam, to get familiarized with the area the exam took place in. Very grateful for everything, many thanks!

Very disappointing!!! Complete lack of professionalism from certain driving instructors. One of them was constantly on his cell phone, just indicating when to turn. No instruction was ever given. The "jokes" from another instructor were sexist and condescending. Unfortunately, this was from the owner of the driving school, which made me wonder how he even runs a business. THEY RIPPED ME OFF, said i didnt pay a missed class, but i did!! It may seem cheaper, but it will be better in the long run to go with a better driving school. If for some reason you get stuck here- TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING - the calendar, their notebook, your scheduled appointments. Get receipts for all payments. They write everything in pencil and change appointments without telling you. If the girl says "she will call you with an appointment" she wont. Actually, don't do anything on the phone, GO IN, TAKE PICTURES. They told me I had an appointment, changed it, and tried to tell me I was crazy cause 'here it is written in my book' however, I proved that it was changed because it wasn't supposed to be a 2 hour class (the previous two hour class someone didn't show up for- they didn't tell me they made the NEXT class 2 hours instead and changed the time) Don't count on her doing a phone call reminder for all your classes either, its a 'if she feels like it' thing. The man who runs the classes is downright rude, unless you're a pretty girl then he will be lecherous and creepy. He frequently leaves the class for long periods of time for no reason. And he reeks of weed, which I mean, I smoke but cmon- be a professional! I don't bring weed to work!!!!!!! The one driving instructor FALLS ASLEEP during your lessons. He also had me drive to his family's house and talk to them for 5-10 minutes parked on the street (time I am paying for). The owner of this place gave the 1 of 5 star review below, just for clarity sake. Special needs school is an accurate description. There is a reason they have to do groupons. AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst driving school ever!!! (Out of your imagination) The person who signed you up try to cheat you at the beginning by saying there is no additional fee but at the end of the session they want you to pay more money for the book that they gave for free.It makes no sense at all!! And they try to do the illegal movement by not giving me the class complete letter which was clearly written down in the contact that “it must be issued without any additional fees when the student completed all their study hours. “ I tried to ask for the teacher and the coach’s names to file a complaint to saaq but they hang out on me. Last, not only me but also another Asian girl who studied there before, we all feel they have discrimination torwards asian people. There is once I was late for class about 10 mins and they wouldn’t let me in, but I’ve saw twice they let in students who’s late for half hour(they are caucasian). All in all, this driving school is not only not reponseable, have discriminatory treatment towards different race and also try hard to cheat students money. Absolutely not recommended!

J’ai finalement fini mes cours dans une autre école et la différence était complètement hallucinante en terme de professionnalisme. En réponse au propriétaire: c’est bien un pseudonyme et mon contrat a été résilié et j’ai été remboursé mais seulement après avoir contacté l’OPC. C’est faux ce qu’ils disent par rapport aux contrats. Ce n’est pas vrai que chaque contrat engendre des frais de résiliation. Ça dépend des clauses de chaque contrat. La preuve, j’en avais pas à payer avec vous. Informez-vous. Il n’y a aucune décision à prendre car le dossier est déjà clos. Merci

I have passed my road test last Wednesday easily due to the good training that I got at Carthage school. When I arrived there I barely knew how to turn the car on, within a short time I was really confident when driving even on highways. I strongly recommend this school to new drivers.

Good school overall, took my classes there in 2012/2013 with a friend. The teachers are great but they dont mention the fees they charge you when you fail the first test or miss classes. It was around 25$ back then, not sure if they still do it now but my friend failed the first test and was told right after that she'll need to pay a fee to do it again. I paid around 850$ in total for the program and the books. You also had to keep your receipts because they would often contact some of my classmates saying they didn't pay. I lived in the neighbourhood at the time so it was easier for me to go there. Im rating them 4 stars because despite the hidden fees they do their job pretty well as far as teaching and guiding you. I was well prepared for my final driving test.
