Great experience and a lot of fun with the Team at Tecnic Moto Montreal West. Marie is very professional, Joni and Nathalie are great communicators, that take care of the learning curve. First day I kept stalling the engine and could not take balanced turns. Nathalie and Joni worked with me on my technique. Also took an extra course before the closed circuit exam at the SAAQ and passed with a 94%! Highly recommend this driving school if you are passionate about learning how to ride a motorcycle, because they are all passionate coaches that want to see you succeed.

Took a 2 hr private moto class as a prep for closed circuit exam which helped me drill the exercises until I was fully confident. The instructor (Geatan) was very helpful and managed to catch and pinpoint things I was doing that were causing some minor but annoying issues. I also rented a bike from them for my exam, with which I was very happy as well.

I loved learning to ride with Tecnic Montreal Ouest this summer. I went from a complete rookie with no experience on the first course (stalling and dropping the bike... many times... sorry guys!) to being a competent, comfortable rider and passing my closed track test on the first attempt. Every instructor is amazing, so knowledgeable and so friendly - they immediately make you feel part of the Moto community and want to help you succeed. Private lessons with Nathalie were so valuable to really achieve full understanding of concepts and fine tuning skills, especially any weak points you have. (You’re the best mama duck, Nathalie!!) The early mornings were rough, but the courses were so much fun largely due to the instructors - while I’m so excited to have my apprentice license and be past the courses... I will miss the team!! I was made to sign a contract which says that if you have to miss a course to confirm before or a fee may apply (which is normal). arriving at our place I see an email with etente (link for your theoretical course) I transfer to my daughter and leave the responsibility to her. the day of the course impossible to return with the link .. we call al, school in panic confirms that the link is not good that j, should have opened the 8 other emails and I would have known ....! proposes another date course that we follow with my daughter .. to call us the next day to tell us what was not !!!!!!!!!!!!! impossible we were there we have the name of the teacher the number of pupils and we see her on camera ect ... in short she decides to accept the course ... subsequently I change the time of the practical course, saying that the moped that I rented for my daughter's class is not available so we change the time soon ... but surprised at the end of his lesson the teacher received an email telling him that despite the success of the course, my daughter has to go get her certificate from al, school ??? surprise at school they want me to pay an additional $ 25 to give me the certificate, otherwise they do not want to recognize her course (which she did). (Original) Tres mauvaise expérience chez vous!! parcontre je tiens a dire que les critiques ne conserne pas les professeurs ni les receptioniste qui selon moi ont fait un tres bon travaille et tres polie. ma critique ce tourne plutot vers administration et une certaine Marie-Eve . j,ai inscrit ma fille a un cours de conduite moto ,on me spécifie que je vais recevoir un courriel avec un lien pour son cours théorique en ligne et on me donne les dates des cours pratique et theorique.on me fait signer un contract qui dit que si on doit manquer un cours de confirmer avant ou des frais peuveut s,appliquer (ce qui est normale). arriver chez nous je vois un courriel avec etente (lien pour votre cours théorique) je transfert a ma fille et lui laisse la responsabilité. la journee du cours impossible de rentre avec le lien..on appelle a l,ecole en panique nous confirme que le lien est pas bon que j,aurais du ouvrir les 8 autres courriels et je l'aurait su....!on me propose une autre date cours que nous suivons avec ma fille..pour nous appeler le lendemain pour nous dire quelle ni etait pas!!!!!!!!!!!!! impossible on y était on a le nom du prof le nbr d,éléves et on la voi sur camera ect...bref elle decide d,accepter le cours..par la suite on me change d,heure de cours pratique soit disant que le cyclomoteur que j,ai louer pour le cours de ma fille est pas disponnible donc de bonne fois on change l,heure...mais surprise a la fin de son cours le professeur a recus un courriel qui lui dit que malgré la reussite du cours ,ma fille doit aller chercher son attestation a l,école??? la surprise a l,école on veut me faire payer 25$ suplémentaire pour me donner l,attestation sans quoi il ne veulent pas reconnaitre son cours(qu,elle a fait). je trouve ca abusive et je me sans pris en otage ..je communique avec l,administration (la secretaire qui me dit que l,administration refus d,elever les frais ..donc..je n,ai pas le choix!! je suis tres decus des evenements . je considere avoir été pris en otage pour une attestation de participation (quon avait besoin qu,elle avait fait et que j,avait payé) ,pour la saaq bref ce n,est pas un question d,argent mais de droit. nous avons fait des demarche afin de faire changer peut etre les demanches administrative a suivre.

I had an amazing experience and I did not have any prior experience. I felt safe, cared for, and I received useful tips. I booked my courses with Marie and Hanna who are very friendly and clear. I had courses with Johnny, Costa, Djikaa, Robert and Nathalie. All of them were clear, present, fun and helpful. As a budget, I spent 1,010$ on the mandatory courses, and an additional 60$ for an extra group course, 100$ for a private course (to manage my anxiety), and 100$ for the motorcycle location. I had my exam on closed circuit this morning, and it was a 100%. Thank you!

Some may say that it is pricey, I shopped around, and went to a school that offered motorcycle classes, that were a bit cheaper. And guess what, you get what you pay for! I did the experience with another school, and I didn't pass my closed circuit exam, I wasn't ready. I wish the instructor would've told me to do a couple more hours to correct my mistakes. That would've protected my investment. Now I paid almost double what I would have paid if I had gone to Tecnic directly (I took private classes because a long time had went by). Instead, I abandoned. It thought I wasn't made to drive on 2 wheels. I decided to give Tecnic a try, and guess what, they gave me the tricks and tips I needed, and I passed, both closed-circuit and road exams on first try (after getting private classes) . They were honest, and they are committed to making you a safe driver by keeping you in check. Merci Nathalie, Johnny et toute l'équipe!

I started my course 8 weeks ago, I am very very happy with the school and training, Natalie and Johnny were very patient and professional, they helped me correct a lot of my mistakes and helped me become a better rider. Practice on the road was also very practical, all instructors were very professional, they've pointed out a lot of bad habits that beginners often has in each break, at the end of the practice, I feel very confident riding on the road(on the highway as well) I took a practice course before my test today and it was definitely a good idea, it gave me a lot of confidence and I passed my exam today! Before writing this, I read some of the negative reviews out of curiosity. Before writing mine, I'd like to leave comments about those negative reviews in the school's defence. I saw a complaint about the school being overpriced. It's not. I shopped around and found their prices to be fair. You're investing in a new skill, in your safety on the road. The quality of their training is worth every penny. I also saw a long complaint about someone who'd never been on a bike before that (a) was asked to take private lessons, (b) the instructors "refused" to estimate how many lessons they would need, and (c) they felt that they were put in an embarrassing position. (a) I'd also never been on a bike before, and I was asked to take private lessons, too. They didn't want me to continue my on-the-road classes until I had more practice. And they were right. I had a weakness, and the private lesson helped me overcome it. They were simply trying to help me become a capable and safe rider who would be able to pass the SAAQ test. That's their job. My private lesson was well worth the extra investment. (b) They won't "refuse" to estimate how many private lessons you need. Quite simply, they just can't. It's not possible to predict, because it all depends on your progress during each lesson. They're not psychic. (c) Personal embarrassment over your progress can't be blamed on the school. Your progress depends on your focus. I pretty much made a fool of myself during the first hour of my private lesson, but it wasn't their fault, and I was not belittled or made to feel embarrassed. If you're embarrassed, you're too focused on your struggles and you won't be able to overcome them. You need to learn from them, not feed them. That goes for anything in life. Now for my own experience: I feel that I could not have chosen a better school. Again, I'd never been on a bike before, not even a scooter, and not even as a passenger. I registered in June, and now at the end of August I've passed my closed circuit test and have my license. Everyone I spoke to at the St Jacques office was helpful and friendly, and I have the utmost respect for all of the instructors. The lectures for the closed circuit and on-the-road classes were great. Costa and Djika were clear and concise. They prepped us on everything we could expect from the classes. If you showed up at the class not knowing something, it's because you weren't paying attention at the lecture. The closed circuit classes with Johnny and Nathalie were a blast. They know their stuff inside and out, and they're goofy together which makes it light and fun. Nathalie did the demonstrations while Johnny explained the exercises, and she has mad skills. I wondered at first how much they were really seeing since there were 10 of us in the group, but let me tell you, they saw everything they needed to see. They called me out on mistakes I didn't know I was making. The private lesson I took with Nathalie was definitely necessary for me to work on my weaknesses, and she was supportive and encouraging all the way through. I'm glad I took the lesson, and I'm grateful to Natalie for her help. The first road class was intimidating for me since this was all brand-new to me, but it was great. I felt that the routes the instructors took us on for each outing were very sensibly mapped out and comfortable, yet challenging for skill development. That last ride along Highway 40 and Lakeshore Blvd was amazing. And again, the instructors really did see everything that everyone was doing, and they gave pointers all the way through each ride. I found all the instructors friendly, approachable, and helpful. They care about training SAFE riders. Costa, Djika, Robert, Melanie, Kathy, Johnny and Nathalie: thank you. I'll recommend your school to anyone I meet who wants to learn to ride.

Had an amazing experience with Tecnic Montreal Ouest. The instructors are professional. They put all of their effort to make sure you get the proper skills so that eventually can provide safety for yourself and for the others yet enjoying this extremely joyful activity. They give you all the pro tips, trust me! Classes are very well organized and at the end you can handle bike with no issues. They provide you helmets but gloves, you have to bring your own or buy at the training spot. Poncho raincoats are also available for sale. One recommendation is to switch your bikes during training to get to know different aspect of bikes. I would like to express my big appreciation to Costa, Robert, Natalie, Francois, Johny Dangerous! and Hanna (in the office).

If you are new to motorcycle, before choosing this school, please think about if you are really into it, and more importantly, please think over if you are in a good financial situation! Just like other people said, this place is overpriced. If you have never touched motorcycle before, those 4 closed-track courses may not be enough for you! Then, you will be asked to take private lessons for several times, which are expensive! ($80/hour, at least 2 hours per time) After several private classes, you will be in an embarrassing position that you want to quit because you don't want to waste more money, but also want to continue because of regretting the money you have spent. Which sucks....., and what made me angry is that the instructor refuse to estimate how many private lessons a student need based on their experience. Instead, there is a "25-year-experienced" instructor will say "I will re-evaluate you in the end of next private lesson". So, please think well before making the decision. Also, some instructors are not patient. For instance, one time I forgot to apply the back brake, a young guy kicked my right foot to warn me, which was rude. Due to the large size of the class, they cannot focus on everyone, they just say "keep on practicing" instead of really pointing out those mistakes you have made. In the end, well, "2-hour private session" is here for you. Hope this helps!

It wasn't perfect since I would have liked to practice more the CC exam's elements in their real succesion but you can be accustomed with them by watching on Youtube the 2017 saaq moto exam. Listen to them and everything should go just fine. However, the mandatory 2x3 hour theory classes can feel quite long but keep in mind that not everyone has the same level and experience so they make sure to cover everything about riding on 2 wheels. Also, i highly recommend taking the "refresh" course before your exam. It makes all the difference after not having used a motorbike in 2 weeks. They deserve their "best school" title. Update: Tecnic cancelled a refresher course that I booked and agreed to pay for unless I removed the below review. The situation is still worth noting and their refusal to offer me services conditional upon not removing a review is extremely unprofessional and extortion in nature. Very difficult and rude people to work with - stay away. - I do not recommend going out of your way to use Tecnic Driving School. If you are considering using them, please read about my experience below before making your decision. I went through the motorcycle lesson[s] offered by the school in September 2015 and have several issues with the company, which I will describe below. The first and main problem occurred on my exam day, which was originally booked without communicating a date to us for weeks. Tecnic offers a service where you can pay $60 in order for them to supply you with a motorcycle for the exam. Our instructors (Pierre, Natalie, and Costa) assured us on multiple occasions that this was worth doing since we would be using the exact [same] model of bike that we have been practicing on for the second half of the closed course and road portions of the program - I had been practicing with a Nighthawk, an older model bike that I became very familiar with. When I arrived at the SAAQ in Longueuil on my closed course exam day, it was to my surprise that three bikes were there waiting - a sport bike, a Harley, and another bike. I had not seen any of these bikes before other than the sport bike, which was used by 5 out of the 10 of us during the road practice since that was all that they had. The Tecnic representative at the SAAQ said that they no longer use Nighthawks for the exam [b]ecause they are old and was not sure why it was promised to me in the first place. He recommended that I use the sport bike, which had a different ergonomic design (let alone not having ever used it to practice with). I wound up failing my exam with very little sympathy from the Tecnic official, despite having little to no difficulty in the courses leading up to it. In addition to everything, I even had to go to Montreal Ouest to pick up a helmet for the exam because they were not supplied to us at the Longueuil location (they are provided at Henri Bourrassa and during our courses). When I called Tecnic to speak with someone, the receptionist offered to pass along my call and said that Robert, the owner, would get back to me that morning, which did not happen. I have been trying to get in contact with them every day for over a week and have had no success; a very poor example of customer service in my opinion. I feel cheated by Tecnic, who failed to deliver on their promises, after what would have been a good experience with the company.

They take care of everything .. you have the schedule in advance, the exam is booked and you can rent the motorbike for the exam directly on site. Then, when you get to the circuit, it's fun. The instructors are really good. They take the time to explain properly and for you to do it the right way. If you have difficulty, yes, you will be asked to take a private lesson. On the other hand, if you are asked to do one, it's not for nothing, and that helps a lot. They don't make you go private to make more money, they want you to be successful. The road courses are well thought out, although the last two could be longer - but that's what the SAAQ demands. They were also on site during my test at the SAAQ, it's reassuring and it calms the nerves! Thanks to the team. I had issues with another school, so I switched to Moto Montreal Ouest. Ils étaient aussi sur place lors de mon test à la SAAQ, c'est rassurant et ça calme les nerfs! Merci à l'équipe . I had issues with another school, so I switched to Moto Montreal Ouest. First of, service is amazing. I almost called several times a day in the beginning since the season had already started and I really wanted to finish the classes ASAP. The person at the office was always so nice... even though I'm sure I was really annoying. They take care of everything, your schedule, your exam, renting the bike... Then when you get to the track, first of, we have fun. The teachers are really good. They take the appropriate time to explain and make sure you do it right. If you struggle, they will make you take a private lesson - but trust me, if they tell you you need a private lesson, it's because you need it, not because they want you to pay more. Road classes are well thought, though the last 2 could be longer - but it's what the SAAQ requires. They were on site during my closed track test, too, and it was reassuring. Thanks team!

Best school ever. If you don't k ow how to drive a motorcycle after being with them I don't think there's hope. They are such good teachers and they make it fun too. Loved my experience. They were honest too. I had to take extreme private classes cause I had a hard time counterbalancing and Natalie worked hard with me for two hours walked away being able to do it. Jeremy and Costa and Johnny are great too. Gonna miss riding with them all. ????????

Start my class last summer (July 2019) before never on a bike. Did my inscription with two nice lady Hanna and Marie. First weekend with Johnny (the most positive person always in a good mood) Then meet the lovely Natalie, she could find every single wrong move that you made and help you to avoid it. So after 4 weekend, i passed my close circuit on 5 of august Come back this year to take 4 hours private classe, before my open road with Nathalie and cool gentlemen Costa. I passed road test with 86/100 Nice experience, nice crew and nice to know you guys. Thinking about send my girlfriend for her 6A next year. See you guys soon stay safe,next year will be better.

I listened attentively when a great friend of mine Jean Francois-Brochet (JF) said to me, “Dwayne, get a bike, it will be the coolest thing in the world and I will teach you how to ride!” Two months later he passed away from cancer. Before he passed away I promised him that I would pursue learning how to ride a motorcycle. I registered with Technic as my discussion with the receptionist made me confident that Technic was the way to go. My experience with the course up until the day of my closed circuit exam was great. On the day of my exam I went for a practice. I was terribly nervous, as I wanted so much to succeed. (Also, I watched too much Sons of Anarchy and developed an inappropriate desire to be the next lead actor in the next seasons). While practicing on the morning of my exam, I became overwhelmed and I decided to quit. I shut the bike off and walked away. I did not feel the instructor supported me and I initially blamed the instructor for allowing me to leave. I tried the exam nevertheless and I failed with flying colours! I made every mistake possible. I beat myself up miserably that day and was unable to lift my chin off the floor until I accepted responsibility that I am responsible for my own actions and it was my decision to quit my training in the morning. I went back shortly after and had a two hour practice and I did not quit. Instead I gave it my whole heart! I passed my closed circuit exam and tears came to my eyes as I received the news. To anyone willing to listen, maintain a positive attitude even when you are faced with challenges or difficulty. Trust every instructor no matter what your brain tells you because they are there to keep you safe. If you have a problem ask to meet with them privately after the course and bring it up with them respectfully. Don’t walk away with your feedback instead let them know what works for you and what doesn’t. Personally, I could not have had a better more complete team of professionals helping me in this process. One instructor said to me, “Dwayne, I know you want this… I can see it in your eyes!” This encouraged me. I know that I have much more to learn. I look forward to the upcoming training. I am pleasantly and completely satisfied with my experience. Thank you to the entire team from the receptionists to all the teachers!!!
