I booked a 2-hour brush up with Dexter, one of the school's driving instructors. Great guy, excellent teacher, and very helpful with my questions. He offered sound advice for my GDL advanced test and answered all of my questions diligently. I could see he cared and wanted me to do well on my test. The last session before the driving test was very helpful and Reza actually pointed out the things that I will have to be careful about. I went in hopes of learning how to drive. I get in there and ask if I'm supposed to pay right away or pay another date and the woman said to pay whenever. Class is supposed to start at 9, the instructor decided to start at 9:20. Wasted a bunch of time, but I'm glad I didn't pay ahead of time or else I would have had to go back for a refund. The instructor was rude, someone would answer the question incorrectly and he would respond with 'oh my god....' To me, that's not a good environment to learn in, especially if he's going to be condescending or even snappy. People decided to stroll in between 10 and 10:15, interrupting class and not being turned away. If I knew class started later, I would have arrived later. The hour and a half I was there, all I learned was that you can go 15km/h down an alley! I left at first break, hoping that the woman I spoke with would be there. Nope. I sent an email about my experience and no one could be bothered to respond, but they would if I were spending money there. I would have learned more from a youtube video than wasting 15 hours of my valuable time in this class. I learned after that he would be doing the one on one driving - no thanks! ESL and parents beware!

The worst experience ever! Reza is calm and good, honestly. However, I failed because of something I haven't been taught (double shoulder check and 360 degree check - I don't know whether that's instructor's problem or examiner's problem - got all points gone solely in those criteria). The school contacted the government the day after and got the answer but didn't let me know. They asked me to contact the supervisor but I called in hundred times in 3-4 days and no one picked up the phone and no voicemail service available. A week later, they asked me to go for the road test which would be booked by the school (but it was taken by other beforehand while the school contacted me for the availability). Then the school asked me to wait. 3 weeks later, I called them and they told me that I have to book and pay by myself and why do I call in and ask for that. Such a "great" experience ever! Looking for another driving school for the retest.

I had Reza as an instructor for both the in-class and in-car lessons. For in-class, he made the lessons very engaging by encouraging thoughtful discussions which I feel really helped be remember things easily. For in-car, Reza is a very patient and calm instructor. He is very experienced at his job which is evident right when you start driving. I felt that he was able to identify my weaknesses right away and made it a point to continuously hone in on them which allowed me to improve. Driving with Reza beside you feels really safe so even if you are a nervous first time driver like me, you'll be able to drive comfortably and confidently in no time.

I had an excellent in-class experience with Reza. He is full of knowledge and information, especially extra information that was extremely helpful in order to understand the secrets of safe, SAFE driving. His class was also fun and exciting. I would recommend Calgary Driving School's in-class session with Reza to everyone, honestly, and that's a consumer opinion. Amazing. As for the in-car training, I drove with Frank and the experience was overall good. I really had zero driving experience prior, so he had to work with me a lot. In other words, I was a case that required much patience and perserverance, and that was Frank. I really appreciate his desire to help me learn, and I did learn alot. Frank really took the time to teach me how to paralell park. On my road test, I did perfect on the paralell park! I find Calgary Driving School to be PROFESSIONAL - so Frank was on-time every day, to pick me up and drop me off, didn't waste my driving time at all, and went through all the things I needed to know in order to pass my road test. I will recommend this school to people who want to learn seriously and safely. The price is also reasonable. Although $500 is not a small amount of money, so I would be confident to state that you will get your money's worth here, just by how professional they are. Thanks Calgary Driving School!

Calgary Driving School is a great place to learn. My instructor was Reza and he helped me out so much! I had no experience prior to the driving classes and I had nobody to practice with either after the class, so I was worried that 10 hours weren't going to be enough for me. However, Reza is so knowledgeable and gives you such great constructive criticism. As long as you listen well to what he says and follow his instructions closely you're set! I took the road test and I passed it on my first attempt. Thank you so so much Reza! I totally recommend him!

They make sure to fail you at least once so you will have to pay again. There's this guy I remember his name was probably Rayza or Reiza. Such an impatient guy. Not to be a qualified trainer, I would say. Good luck avoiding him because there are usually not many others available.

I DON'T recommend this school at all!!! I took my road practice in a different school but was directed to this one to take the classroom lessons. The instructor Reza was very disrespectful/ rude, he has power control issues. His instruction was very repetitive and lacked enthusiasm. He would spend long time on topics he already reviewed and spend just little on important ones..... it was hard to seat for 7 hrs to listen to him. The biggest problem is his rudeness. He can be very calm and gentle at times but if there is a student that points out his mistakes or his wrong doing then he loses control, totally unprofessional. Other of my classmates thought the same but were shy to confront him. The good reviews here probably come from the school staff. Other of my classmates had issues with Awan instructor as well, rude and with power control issues too. Lady at the front desk very unfriendly and with bad manners. Instructors have very thick accent and it is hard to understand for many people what they speak, add to that that instructors eat during the class! Awan instructor asks questions bu,t if you answer them right he says you are wrong, because he wants to be the one to know better. I think they are used to treat some students bad and they think no one will ever confront them. I will actually bring a formal complaint against this school and encourage others with bad experiences to speak up and team up. June 20th, 2016 Update: Transportation Canada is aware now, and seems school agreed/might handle " tensions" differently, If they are smart they will behave different, if not people should know they can talk to Transportation Canada. (The interesting thing is that last week Transportation Canada talked to them and coincidentally the good reviews popped up in the same week ...)

After checking with the better business bureau, my daughter when to Calgary Driving School Ltd and was instructed by Reza. He was very patient and professional. If you have tried teaching your own child you will understand how his patience worked way better than mine in teaching my daughter. She as very pleased with his demeaner and was totally relaxed after the classes, which she never was when I tried teaching her. And she passsed after just one lesson.

Not convinced and wouldn't recommend to a new learner. Dexter is a good instructor and would make you feel calm. The other instructor, the owner would freak out at your mistakes, and his instructions and technique is very montonous and repetitive. He didn't demonstrate anything during the lessons by himself, and would depend on you to make everything correct. The problem is that you don't feel confident at all when he keeps pointing out at how bad job you have done. You need confidence as a new driver, and someone with patience to teach you well. I think they want everyone to be perfect in couple of days, and if you make a mistake then you can't be a driver as per them. I found it absurd and bootless experience.

The owner of the driving school is a just a crazy mad fellow... he freaks out and will yell at you if you do simple mistakes... the trainers name is Reza.. and he is a totally impatient trainer.. please please listen to my advise.. dont choose Reza as trainer .. if you really need take lesson from this school then choose some other instructor than REZA..

Both my kids had their driving class completed here and really enjoyed it. When I registered my son over 2 years after my daughter finished her driving classes, the receptionist recognized my son's last name and immediately asked me if Tylyn was my daughter. My daughter went to another registry for the driving test and failed the first time. She advised that many of her friends failed the first time as well..makes me think they do it to make extra $. I convinced my son to take his driving test through Calgary Driving School. They booked his driving test with Registry Express North Hill Centre Mall. Needless to say, he passed with flying colors. He said his test instructor was very friendly and calm. They are very prompt with answering your questions - whether it be over the phone or email. I highly recommend Calgary Driving School.

Several emails went unanswered. Driver trainer missed one session and it was rescheduled without confirming our availability. They were good about allowing one session to be rescheduled due to illness, but were not responsive when trying to setup a time for that session.

My experience with Dexter was great. I think he's a top-class instructor; he knows how to make a beginner student driver comfortable. He boosted my confidence immensely with his safe and effective driving method. His parallel parking method is one of the best for sure. I did my In-class in this School but was registered in another driving school and directed to attend to Calgary Driving School Ltd. for my classroom portion. My instructor in the classroom for the first day was Awan, and I could say he has a bit accent but he is good and explains every details. Second day classroom was Reza is the instructor, and he was very knowledgeable in teaching in the class, he was polite in answering your question and sometimes make some jokes to make the class not boring. Went here four years ago. I was a new comer with zero driving experience. I had the Filipino guy as an instructor (not sure if he's still there). I thought it would be nice because we're from the same country, but nope! He kept on belittling me and he would get mad whenever I made a mistake. He even told me at one point to "use my head" "it is not there as a decoration". I even pretend to have a toothache just to finish our session and never came back.

Right before my test he went out of his way to make sure to practice with me so I was prepared. Eva from the office is also very helpful and genuinely wants the best for her clients. I tried to book an appointment once and let me tell you it was the worst experience I've ever encountered. The customer service is horrible this flippino lady answered and was very rude , I usually give good reviews and I am very patient but WOW I would never recommend this place to anyone. As far as the instructor goes I was fortune not to find out how terrible they were because I went to another driving school and had much better service.
