This is a great school, from the management to the instructors. Since the first time the I call the school to get information and pricing I was treated in a professional and yet extremely kind manner. My instructor, Lucas, was very nice and patient and great at teaching and explaining the driving techniques and my mistakes. The cars that they use are in great conditions and very easy to drive. At Capilano driving school they really care about their students advising them with their experience and teaching them all that they need to know to pass the road test. I have just past my class 5 road test after only 9 driving classes with Capilano driving school. I 100% recommend this school if you are planing on taking your road test!

I'm a recent student of Capilano driving school and have nothing but good feedback. The in class teacher is great! with a nice sence of humour that makes the learning environment fun and enjoyable. The driving instructors are also very positive, motivating as well as patient during the lessons. They do their best in making sure you become a safe driver. Myself I graduated from the GLP program (that i recieved a certificate of 6 months off my N driver's license) and passed the drivers test on the first try with ease!! Finally after long years of stressing out about getting my license, I passed my N today!!! I was in a spiral... I got my L about five years ago and I had to renew my L twice, on top of that failed my road test 3 times. I've had several teachers who taught privately, but from my experience Capilano Driving School had the best curriculum. I got 6 lessons in total, and it was totally worth the money! They taught me in detail what I was doing wrong and I was quickly able to get rid of my bad habits. Even though I didn't get the road test package on the day of my test, my teacher called me in the morning to make sure I had any last minute questions. They taught me how to be a safe driver and I'm very thankful for them. I would definitely recommend to all.

I booked to use my own car, when I got there the instructor said "no, we are using our car". I thought it would be fine, but the instructor kept acting like I had never driven before. He kept pressing the brakes when I didn't need them, and controlling steering input. It is really hard to drive when you don't have control over the vehicle. As well, all of his braking and steering kept messing up my parallel parking, and he would then say "you need to practice". I can parallel park fine. He wouldn't even let me stop at a stop sign without pressing the brakes himself.(I have now gotten a response from the owner and I was offered a new lesson with the owner, that is good service. Happy to see people trying hard to keep standards up and customers happy.)

Yayyy I just passed my class 7 road test today - first try! I took the GLP class and it was great, informative, and helped me a lot to prepare for the road test. Their staff are nice and the instructor (Majid) is very calm and gave me some good tips and advice to be confident. I purchased 15 in-car lessons package from Capilano Driving School in fall 2016. I am a new driver and wanted proper training for ICBC class 7 road test. The course was great. Most important the instructor that was teaching it had ~20 years of experience and was able to teach me safe driving and prepare to the road test. In 15 lessons me and my instructor covered all the material needed for ICBC class 7 road test as well as highway driving and driving downtown Vancouver. The school is also always in touch with ICBC so my instructor new exactly what was needed for the road test and explained me all the smallest details examiner would be looking for at the road test. The car the school provided was brand new and drove very well. I used it for the road test and passed from first attempt. I highly recommend this school.

The instructor was 20 minutes late and not skilled to prepare a student for a road test. The service was not professional as the instructor kept blaming me for giving him the wrong address when in fact I gave my legal address when I booked my lesson. During the curse of my lesson, poor driving instructions were given and often he would use his hands as a way of communicating what he wanted me to do. This is not acceptable as the driven MUST always keep eyes on the road. Please give proper training to your instructors.

I just passed my driving test, and I don't think it would have happend if it hadn't been for El at Capilano Driving School. I've been through a lot of instructors over the past 2 years, and they really only taught me what I needed to know to pass the test, not what I needed to know to be a good driver. Consequently, this left me being a very nervous driver while I had my N sticker. It was by sheer luck I found El, and he's been so, so great. He really drills down to find out exactly the cause of your driving phobia, and teaches you safe, defensive driving. I've passed my test, but I'm still going to go back for a few more hours of lessons just to really get my confidence back! I would recommend him as an instructor without any reservations!

Terrible place! I got one class before my test and the instructor (which seems to be the owner of the place) was super rude. She put me down all the time repeating that I would not pass, instead to help and show me what to do. I had to control myself to finish the class without a big argument with her. Result of that: I failed! One week after that I got one single class with another nearby school and I passed the road test with no mistakes. Save your time and money and find somebody else to help you on that.

This driving school is hands down the best. My instructor Marin was absolutely amazing. She was patient, encouraging, kind, extremely knowledgeable, and very detail oriented. I got the 10 lesson package + a lesson just before my driving exam. I only drove with my dad for about half an hour one time outside of those lessons. Needless to say I past my N test the first time with flying colours (the examiners words not mine). They really do care about preparing you to be a safe driver for when you're out on the road by yourself, rather than just helping you pass the test. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who is new to driving.

I definitely do not recommend this driving school. their trainers do not behave good. he yelled at me when I didn't reduce the speed of car during going out of a high way ramp! . That is so unprofessional and shocking for me how you treat your customer!! I explained this to Mr. Ahmadi manager of institute and he didn't care about that as i expected he spoke to that trainer or refund that session for me as he ruined that session at all. Do not waste your money and time with this institution.

The best! I passed my road test because of this school’s excellent lessons. Both instructors I had were awesome - clear and useful instruction and tips. They know the routes that the ICBC testers take you on, and you practice these routes with them - So on the day of my test I had already practiced the exact route I was tested on, which helped a lot with my confidence and being comfortable knowing the speed zones, traffic “traps”, etc. They were also the most competitive pricing of all the ICBC-accredited schools. Overall - Highly recommend!

After completing the GLP Course Package B (In Class + Lessons), I was able to pass my "N" test this past Friday (11/26) on my first attempt. I cannot recommend this driving school enough!! If you scroll through the reviews of this driving school you will notice a common theme: "passed on first try". The results don't lie, this is a great driving school with high quality driving instructors (especially John, who I mostly worked with!) John is an awesome, patient, and calm instructor! John made sure that I was ready for anything on the road test and helped me develop safe driving habits. On road test day I wasn't surprised by anything in large part thanks to John. We drove around the ICBC test centre for an hour before my test began. My driving examiner at ICBC took me on part of the same route that John and I did that morning, so I was more than prepared. Thank you Capilano Driving School!

Overall a great experience with this school! I completed the GLP program even with covid and passed my test first try. The in class sessions were long, but I can say that I feel much safer on the road because of how thoroughly they explained all aspects of driving. All the instructors I had were extremely professional and corrected errors to the last detail, and took me through the exact routes I was tested in. Nothing on the test was new or a surprise. Just passed my test today, thanks to Capilano Driving School! I wasn't able to drive with any friends or family in my own own time, so had to bank on my time driving with instructors being enough to prepare to the road test. Nancy and John in particular were exceptional. Super thorough, patient, and kind instructors that helped build my confidence behind the wheel. The road test ended up going through part of the route I practiced, and I wasn't caught off guard by any tricky intersections or sneaky playground zones. I would recommend this school to anyone who hasn't had a professional lesson, because they had so much knowledge to help pass the test that most drivers on the road wouldn't know.
