Learning to drive can be a challenge - but doing so in a pandemic is unique! Our daughter had some excellent online classes when in-person was not possible. She was well-prepared and knowledgeable about the rules and laws of driving. The in-car component was exceptional though. Mazen was our daughter's teacher and he was flexible to schedule lessons and an exceptional teacher. The private lessons were in an impeccably clean vehicle that was very new and easy to drive in. He was patient and gave professional advice. My daughter always had positive feedback from her lessons and wants all new drivers to know what a great teacher he was. Both of our children learned to drive through Westdale. We could have paid more - but why pay premiums to big chains? Since our son got his license in 2018 he's logged thousands of kilometers and even drives large F350s and cube vans through his work - all without incident due to the expertise from Westdale. David @ Westdale driving school is the best! He has clearly been doing this for many many years and has it down to a finely tuned performance. He is professional, respectful and makes the course a lot of fun while you learn (as fun as driving school can be..) --- There's some other review on here saying he makes you pay upfront then 'his attitude changes', that is 100% BS, I literally just took his courses and there were many times he told students that they could pay later as long as it was before the final lesson. Worth every penny!

I am really happy that I chose this driving school as I've heard so many negative things about driving school in general. David is really funny, personable, and organized. He gives great examples in class (especially because we had a small class size in the evenings). I didn't think driving school would make a difference, but I do think coming here will make me a better driver. David said driving school is to gain knowledge but also hopefully also change attitudes. Thanks for the great experience so far!

Some people say that 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks' :) However, today this 'old dog' passed the first road test at 53 because of Westdale Driving School :) I almost had given up about driving, until I took the in-class and in-car driving instruction this school is providing and with my ongoing driving practice. I truly appreciated the teaching and enjoyed the company of everyone during classroom instruction. Also, I just want to thank the management for the driving instructor assigned for me thereafter was very helpful with lots of experience to share and teach me with patience. I am grateful that I went to this driving school and for the driving experience my in-car driver instructor imparted to me. Keep up the amazing job you and your team are doing for us and the community!

You can learn many useful driving materials during the class, the class teaching is interesting and helpful. My driving instructor is a nice, calm and polite person. Not only teach you how to drive, but also teach you how to see and deal with the special situation. I feel so lucky to take driving with him.

I did my in class as well as road lessons with Westdale Driving school and it was a great experience! Dave taught the in class lessons very well and made it easy to remember the rules of the road as well as everything else that comes with driving. John was my driving instructor and he made driving a lot less nerve wracking.If I ever made a mistake he would calmly correct me. I passed my G2 test on the first try! Would completely recommend this program to any new drivers! My in-class instructor, Neil, was hilarious and made class fun whilst teaching in a professional manner which really helped myself and the people in my class (the class wasn't crowded either, or was comfortable at around 6 or so people), and my in-car instructor Yama, provided a fantastic experience while improving my driving on the road with his positivity, constant encouragement, and beneficial and friendly constructive criticism when mistakes had been made. I recommend this for anyone trying to get their drivers licence! I went for in class lessons before getting my G, and I passed on my first try! My instructor was Hassan: 10/10 driving instructor, very patient and good at pointing out mistakes for correction. Always punctual and structured in setting times for lessons!

10/10 would recommend I've always been a little bit weary of driving (bring extremely clumsy and all; my friends and I used to always joke about making sure everyone's off the road when I drive) but John (in car instructor) and the school helped put my worries at ease. The in class lessons were engaging, fun and comfortable, and John was great with making sure I knew everything I'd need to know for the exam while also making lessons fun. Just passed my G2, and excited to work towards my full g next year! :)))

In class lessons with David was amazing. 10 hour driving was absolute hell. My instructor did everything he could do to cut time, never paid attention to me, was always on his phone and doing other things. He was very impatient and barely taught me anything. DO NOT COME HERE. I speak from personal experience, and I don't care if I get a reply telling me how qualified your instuctors are because they don't show it.

In car lessons were also great, Mr Alakoozi Faroz is an excellent driving instructor and taught me everything I needed to know for taking the G2 road test. I passed first try thanks to him. Let me start off by saying, I really enjoyed the in-school lessons. Dave was funny and attentive. Unfortunately, i've had nothing but HELL trying to have the in-car lessons. The first driver made me feel extremely uncomfortable and was oddly awkward about the situation. I then asked to be taken back home, at which time he made me sign my driving lesson papers saying i've passed on TWO whole lessons. I found that strange considering that was only my first lesson. Afterwards, I called to see if they could set me up with a different instructor. I left one voicemail. I didn't hear back for about a week or so. So I had to follow up again. I finally got a hold of a lady and explained the situation. She told me she would look into it. Another two weeks go by and I never heard back from her. I received a call from another instructor at 9:00 p.m. I left it to go to my voicemail since it was an unknown number. Then I received a text from the instructor asking on my availability. I responded the next day, at which I heard back from him A WEEK LATER after again.. I had to call and follow up. We finally set a date and time for my lessons. The day of, he was supposed to arrive at 5:30 p.m. I called him at 5:50. The call went straight to voicemail. I then texted him asking if he was on his way or if we should reschedule.. I never received a response until 3 weeks later when he asked me again what my availability was. This is completely unacceptable considering I've paid already, and I completed the in-school part back in March. I would not recommend going here at all.

He is such a patient and responsible instructor and he taught me with the heart. Every class was enjoyable and I actually learn driving, not just tricks. So in school lessons were great, amazing quality except the in car lessons were not very great. I had AUGUSTIN, had issues with him from day 1 where he forgot that it was our driving day and his response time was very slow, he also hadn’t contacted me about scheduling WEEKS after I was originally suppose to as I finished my in class hours. I contacted the school asking if I could switch instructors and they told me maybe they can work something out as Covid just broke out and their instructors were out of the country. So I stuck with him and was offered 3 free hours (which I never got). Instructor was always on his phone, not paying attention to me and steering the wheel for me, telling me to park on the side to speak to me and in general I DID NOT PROPERLY LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. Don’t get me wrong he’s a nice guy, but driving lessons should not be about chit chatting. I failed the first time I took my g2 test, then passed the second time (thanks to my friends that helped me have a better understanding of driving). All in all, the school itself great, but my specific instructor not so great considering I was completely new to driving. I heard other drivers from there are very good but just be careful when you notice the instructor seems to be lacking in properly teaching you - CALL the school immediately and get a new one!! So let me just make things clear Augustin is a sweet guy, but I’d say not the best at helping you behind the wheel. In school lessons absolutely amazing I loved the in class teacher - very funny, sweet, helpful and all in all a great person!

So i went to the one in the west end. The teacher was funny and great made class fun and easy but when it came to the driving part my instructor was horrible he basicly drove for me so i didnt learn anything failed my test twice and yes i blame him he was horrible i should have switch but i paid for it so i finished i was supose to have an hr before my test nope he tripled booked. So i had to take the bus and meet him there n did it the day before HORRIBLE!!!!!!! TAKE UR MONEY ELSE WHERE.

My experience from beginning to end was fantastic!! Firstly, the in-class lessons were done very well. Lots of great advice given to me! I had severe anxiety about driving which is why I waited 4 years after getting my G1 to attempt my G2. Secondly, my in-car instructor Yama was so encouraging! He regularly told me how good I was doing. And when I didn't feel confident in certain things like left turns, he would let me do them over and over. He covered all aspects of driving and made sure I mastered them all safely. When it came time to the road test he took me on the route and walked me through it over and over. My anxiety levels were quite high. He took me for a coffee to help me relax and then off to the testing centre. He believed in me since the first day I met him. And lastly I want to mention the pricing! The cost is very good compared to other schools, the in car lessons are flexible, and Yama was fantastic at accommodating my work schedule. I used the instructors car for the test and he came early and didn't over charge me. I couldn't have done it without Westdale driving school!! Thank you for making me a confident driver!!!

Westdale Driving School provides a terrible service. Please do not use them. After trying to get appointments with two driving instructors, both who never replied to my daughter, and one of whom was incredibly rude to both her and me when he finally did decide to call her late at night. When I complained "customer service" tried to suggest that we were at fault, even though in both cases my daughter had texted the instructors saying "When can we set up an appointment" with no reply. I am disgusted at their attitude to their clients and their rude tone. All I can say is that they will give us our money back, minus the tax, because I can't imagine they are managing their instructors properly, and I don't want my daughter being trapped in a car with any of these people. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I had a great experience with Westdale Driving School! I had several lessons this summer with David in preparation for my G test. While I was initially nervous about driving again after several years without practice, David was an incredibly reassuring and encouraging teacher who helped me to feel very comfortable in the driver's seat. Our lessons were very thorough and immensely helpful for preparing for the Hamilton G test. I passed on my first try! I highly recommend Westdale Driving School - thank you for the great lessons, David!

My girlfriend had Hussain Khan as the instructor. 1. He was on the phone chatting half the time while the student was driving. 2. A lot of instructions were not covered during 10+ sessions of training. For example parking uphill. 3. He said it was ok to use backup camera during test. However the examiner purposely blocked it during test. 4. He choose Simcoe as the place to take the test because it was easier than Hamilton in his opinion. However all practice were taken place in Hamilton, road condition was very different. 5. The instructor was late on multiple occasions and forget about scheduled appointment. I called this school to complain about the instructor's unprofessional behavior, however the school’s response was very disappointing. They blamed everything on us. Saying even 10 or 20 lessons were not enough to cover everything, the instructor was on the phone for family emergency(which is a lie because the conversation had nothing to do with any emergency. Also he should have asked the student to pull over if he has to make a phone call, and not be on the phone for 30min while a new driver is driving.) They also said Simcoe was advised because no other place was available. However Hamilton was available at the time. We have made the same complaint to Ontario Ministry and Transportation and The Driving School Association of Ontario and we take full responsibility of our comments.

In class was made really enjoyable when you wouldn't normally think a 5hour class could be!! I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from David! My instructor Yama for the in car portion was also a very great teacher and I passed my road test on the first go!!

Fantastic experience. Schedule was flexible. In class instructor kept it fun and did a good job of teaching the material. My in car instructor was awesome. Super patient and relaxed learning environment. He explained techniques well and adapted delivery to explain them a way I understood. I would recommend them to anyone.

They make you to pay in full before start of the class and once they get the money, their attitude changes completely. The driving instructor I got would yell at you if you made a mistake and he is very disrespectful, especially if you are a student. DON'T PICK THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL TEACHER!

Two years ago I used Westdale driving school for my daughter’s driving lessons. Both of us were extremely happy with the in class instruction and the driving instructor (Chara). So it only made sense to use Westdale for my other daughter. Once again the in class instruction was very informative and she enjoyed the class. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about the driving instructor, Javid. He made it very difficult to make appointments, was late for his appointments, and did not give my daughter feedback when she was driving unless she did something wrong, he seemed to always have to go to the washroom during her lesson. When I attempted to speak to him about the situation he begrudgingly listened to my concerns but never addressed them. What bothered me the most is that he suggested that she have a one hour lesson on the Wednesday (he was 10 minutes late), a two hour lesson on the Thursday (he was 40 minutes late) and then he was to pick her up at 8:00 am on the Friday for a one hour lesson prior to her road test scheduled for 9:30 (which we paid extra in order to use his car for the road test), he was 15 minutes late with no explanation or apology. I should note that whenever he was 5-10 minutes late he brought her back home at the scheduled end time not the one hour from the start time. I feel that he was very unprofessional and insensitive. I would not recommend having him as your driving instructor!!!

David Dong is super funny guy, making the whole lecture very attractive. John is best instructor ever. He has his own method to teach. U can get the essence of driving very fast. Road test become super easy!

Yama is the best coach I've ever seen! He is really professional in teaching and his teaching style can easily help me know what I needed to improve. He really cares about students and he is good at helping students build confidence in driving. He even gave some suggestions for me to buy a car after I passed my G2. I'll definitely RECOMMEND Yama!!!
