When I took my classes here in may (I think) it went pretty well although they never got back to me about my in car lessons until a couple months after and I was leaving the country a couple weeks after hence why I was in a rush, however the owner kept saying that I didnt pay them and had misplaced my file which seemed rather odd because I thought they would have everything organized but they ended up finding my file and paired me with Khalid who is a fantastic instructor and really helped me a lot! Other than the school being a bit unorganized I was able to do my in car lessons shortly after speaking to the owner and explaining to him about my situation. It resulted pretty well and I'm so glad that Khalid was my instructor because he was so patient and kind and definitely taught me since I had no prior knowledge of driving. Thanks a lot !! I recomend Khalid

Please don't go here. I understand that COVID is stressful and makes many things difficult, BUT this still does not explain or excuse what my family's experience has been with this company. Starting in January 2020, right after me and my sister did the course, we were promised that a driver instructor would reach out within two weeks. This did not happen. We gave them extra time, because we understand that sometime things get busy, but they never reached out. Around a month and a half later, we called them again, trying to schedule in car driving lessons. We were told that a driving instructor would contact us withing the next two weeks. This never happened. Then COVID-19 happened, and we were never contacted or notified that they had shut down. However, we gave them many months and began calling them again after we discovered that most driving schools were opening up again. Once again, after we finally contacted them, they told us once again that both of us would be contacted them within 2 weeks. This was in late august, and we have still not been contacted. We have been calling and have been ignored. Once again, while we do understand the problems and setbacks COVID-19 caused, the experience with Universal Driving Schools has been frustrating and disappointing even before the pandemic came. This is nothing against the drivers and teachers, my teacher was great, and I have heard that the instructors are great, it's just that the company is difficult. From our viewpoint, it feels like the company will just ignore its problems and clients until they give up and go away. We have not received a refund, and we have not been contacted by them. This is disappointing and frustrating, especially since we have already paid for our driving lessons and in car driving lessons. I hope that this company will work harder to serve their customers, and I especially hope that they will finally listen to me and my sister, as we just want what we paid for.

TERRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT USE! . Signed up June 5th paid in full for online classes... it's now June 18th, still have no login information, nobody will return calls, spoke to fernando/Wray quickly on phone june 8th he told me give him a day to figure out what's going on, still no word back.... these guys are a joke and feel scammed, I could have had all my online stuff done by now.... do not recommend and just want my $585.99 back

Great driving school, in class portion was informative and engaging. In car lessons were completed quickly, with a great instructor, he was patient and friendly and taught me everything I needed to know. I was very well prepared for my G2 test. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to complete their drivers training for a little more experience.

I am still grateful to God who lead me to call Universal Driving for my lessons for G2 road test. Wray took me for lessons only twice and successfully couched me to be calm and ready for my test . He was patient and explained every step I needed for the test and for my driving skills in general. And yep. I passed my test after 2 lessons only???????????? I recommend them 100% to anyone looking for better results.

When trying to accurately review Universal Driving school I find myself at a cross roads. My experience was fantastic when it came to my In-class and In-car experience, I really enjoyed learning from the instructors. It was not until I when to Service ON to get my Driver's Licence History did I encounter problems. My paperwork was never and still has not been filed into the Ministry, leaving me with no proof of finishing driving school. For insurance purposes, it is essential I have proof of graduating driving school. (Not to mention that I am a paying customer who expect the services I paired for) I have been calling both the Hamilton and Burlington phone number and have sent 12 messages through the website. After 3 weeks of this, I still have not gotten a response of any sort or acknowledgement. I am incredibly frustrated... To provide a timeline, I finished my lessons back on March 13th and had my G2 driving test early August 14th. I have been trying to get ahold of the school since. If anyone at Universal Driving school is seeing this, please leave an accurate phone number and/or email.

Worst place place ever..... unable to give no stars ! They stand you up at the last minute on regular basis because they feel like they have something better to do, driving instructors never call back, instructors cut the driving time short, instructors even decided not to give my step daughter lessons anymore because she called him wanting lessons being almost a month between lessons, so he decided to tell her to go with another instructor because he wasn’t doing it.. Also to reply upon this comment from the owner, no name needs to be given , you have my name, I am more than happy to come see you with all the information, but the situation has been the worst with you driver instructors, as for coming to see you, I think I will, plus my comment still won’t change !

My in car driving instructor was also very good! I did not have to wait long to book in car lessons and they went smoothly. He taught me lots to make me prepared for driving on my own. The instructors both in class and in car were very knowledgeable. I’d never been behind the wheel before and my instructor made sure I was comfortable. Priced really well so you get a lot of value for your money. There was a bit of a problem with scheduling the road lessons at the start but after a couple calls I was eventually put through to a great instructor that has really helped my confidence with driving a lot

My overall experience with Universal Driving School was good! My in class instructor was very informative and detailed with her lessons. My in car instructor was pretty good as well. I feel like I did learn necessary driving skills from him and improved throughout my lessons. He made me repeat certain things I struggled with which was beneficial. At the beginning it was a bit hard to get in touch and begin to plan the lessons as he did not have my file but all worked out in the end. I would have liked more constant feedback about my progress to gain more confidence and comfort for each lesson, as well as at times a more descriptive explanation of things, but overall my experience was good and I learned a lot! Where do I even start. The most unreliable,unprofessional business I had to deal with.u can call,text,email and it takes forever for an aswer. They show up late for driving lessons and even don’t show up. It took forever to get my son certificate ready and I called and texted every day.

I wish there was a zero stars option. I payed for this service as a highschool student last August. It is now the last day of september a year later, and I have not received the full 10 lessons. I had to reach out to my driving teacher, to find out that he had left my files and dropped me as a student months prior. This was in April, they have still yet to contact me back in any manner. Universal Driving School does not put their customers first, they will ignore you until you leave. Do not support this business if you have any hopes of learning how to drive. Also, they will argue you about refunds but refuse to provide you with the service you paid for.

The in class lessons were very well done and prepared me well for when it was time to practice on the road. My in car driving instructor was great teacher and a very nice person! He was very thorough and made sure I understood what he was saying. He always knew how to make me feel calm and comfortable when driving which made my driving experience go smoothly! I am concerned writting this e-mail because I am not done my in-car lessons, and with there quality of customer care I may not get them at this rate. I have been cancelled on twice, for my first lesson. The manager took 2 days to find me another instructor but by then my original one had rebooked. I got cancelled on again today because someone was on stand by for there test. When calling the manager, he told me I was wasting his time and things happen and I need to be prepared for last minute cancellations. The first time it was a no call / no show. Classroom is small, desk and chairs old and the learning materials outdated. I wish i would have spent the extra $500 and gone to Drive Wise or YD. Maybe the price merits a much better level of service.

The school itself doesn’t have the best communication (not the driver’s faults) but I had Aman teaching me who was a phenomenal instructor. Passed my G2 on my first attempt even though my lessons were split up due to the pandemic. The 5 star review is solely for how great Aman was and not indicative of the school itself.

My daughter just finished the last class with an instructor by the name of Lily at Universal Driving School. My daughter was so frustrated and upset over how she was treated by Lily, namely unfairness and discrimination. She told me that Lily was always telling her to put her phone away but ignored the fact that "others" (Caucasians) were using their cellphones. As well, the test questions were ambiguous and impossible to answer that Lily had a tough time even answering them herself. I really hope that there are better instructors working at Universal to teach my daughter how to drive. Not an enjoyable learning experience at all for her. I can only hope the road lessons will be much much better!!! I have been trying desperately to book driving lessons for my daughter. It is now Tuesday Aug 20 2018 and my daughter finished the classes over 3 weeks ago. Do you think they have returned my calls?? I have called multiple times snd NOBODY returns my calls. How is this driving school still in business?? For all those who wrote great reviews, I cant believe them. Am going to try to obtain a refund back even if it means going through the Better Business Bureau.

This is a very poor driving school. My daughter just finished her in car lessons. Her instructor was late for every lesson but the last one. And not 5 minutes late, up to an hour. He was also very disengaged while she was driving - even so far as to be watching Netflix on his phone!!! Disgraceful. It took 3 weeks for them to process her paperwork so that we could book a road test. Very poor communication. The worst part is that I don't think my daughter learned anything! Wish I had spent a couple more dollars and gone to Young Drivers.

The in-class driving instructor was very informative and thorough. She showed the class excellent visuals and also shared her personal experiences. My in-car driving instructor was also good. It was clear that she was well educated on all the road rules and driving tricks. I think if she had only allowed me to practice certain maneuvers on my own, then I would certainly do better. My overall experience with Universal Driving School was great and I definitely recommend this school for future drivers!

Terrible driving school.. Like most of these bad reviews on a terrible experience on lessons we had the same exact experience.. Its always about the instuctors and not about the customer.. Always cancelling and only booking lessons when THEY wanna do it.. Horrible customer service.. The owner sides with instuctors over customers bad experiences. There are alot more schools out there that care about their customers and this place does not. Hope you realise all of these bad reviews on here and START treating your customers right

Terrible terrible experience, DO NOT recommend. My daughter did her in school classes in July and it is now November and she still has not finished her in car hours. The only thing she is waiting on before she can go book her road test.. is THEM! Never answer the phone as well, in car instructors are rude! Very terrible customer service.. tried to demand a refund and no answer on phone or email still to this day! Definately will not be going back for my other children.

If you are looking to obtain your license fast and efficiently this is not the company to go with. Customer service is very poor, even from the owner. I was told I needed to pay an additional $20 via e-transfer to the owners personal email address in order to have him submit my information to the ministry otherwise it would be a 10 day wait. I feel like this is extortion in a way. Definitely just a cash grab. After not having the proper paperwork during the entire duration of my in car lessons this is now what I am being told. When I originally decided to go with this company I spoke to someone and explained my situation and they assured me they would be able to have everything done within my deadline. My in class teacher was very kind and informative, class room videos etc very outdated. My in car instructor was AMAZING his name was Daniel Balcazar. I would highly recommend my in car instructor but not so much this company.

My son and many of his friends chose this driving school. After taking the in class lessons last March we are not able to book the in car portion. They are not responding to emails nor answering their phones. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY. People are having to retake the course (20hrs of wasted time) with other companies & pay again...absolutely brutal to do to kids who have already had to deal with so much during Covid. If the company has folded please update your website & answering message.

After completing some lessons, I can already tell that Wray is a very experienced instructor. He gives advice that helps to make you feel very confident in accomplishing major driving milestones for the first time. It takes away a lot of the anxiousness in doing things for the first time when you have a supportive and patient instructor helping you! The lessons are super informative, you'll receive tips that will help you for a lifetime!! My older sister used this same company when she got her license years ago and the years of experience shows.

Bad experience from the beginning. First my son registered and the class was cancelled but we were not informed. He took time off work for the weekend, waste of time and money. And after he finally got to take the course he couldn't get anyone to call him to book his in car lessons. Then covid hit.
