I highly recommend Guelph Driving School as they are not only reliable and professional but also provide a comfortable learning environment. The staff at the school is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful when it comes to asking questions, they are willing to do what it takes to help their students succeed. I am extremely grateful to have had Arfan as my driving instructor. He is hands down the most amazing person and takes pride in what he does. I couldn’t have wished for a better teacher. From our very first lesson to our last, thanks to Arfan’s patience, teaching skills, clarity, tricks and encouragement I was able to gain confidence behind the wheel. His ways of teaching are very simple and precise which prepares you well for your test and overall, as a driver. Arfan is very understanding and communicates well with his students and does his absolute best to work around your schedule. Hi Everyone. This is Syed. I live in Mississauga but because of Covid I was only able to get a G2 test date in Guelph. My instructor from a different school in Mississauga sucked so so much I was worried I was gonna fail. He kept on asking for more money after the initial 10 lessons. Since I was sick and tired of him I found Guelph Driving School online and talked to the instructor Irfan to help me on the test day. He said he will definitely help me. I had my G2 Test today and passed it. The reason I passed my test is because my instructor Irfan believed in me. Never once during our lessons he said you'll fail. He was always so full of hope and positivity. He said Syed I trust you. You will ace this. I was a nervewreck. I wasn't able to sleep the night before my test. I was really nervous but me and Irfan practiced for 2 hours before the test and we went through all my mistakes. I felt so confident after that 2 hour lesson that I was full of positive energy and I PASSED!!! If you are as nervous as I was I Highly Recommend you take lessons with Irfan. I am sure in a couple of lessons your confidence level will be 100%.

It doesn’t matter how busy his schedule was, he will try his best to accommodate you when needed specially when on a tight schedule close to your road test. He is very calm and understanding but firm when giving important instructions to remember during road test. Got my first lesson from a different school to prepare for G test and I failed. I had only 2 lessons from Arfan for a total of three hours and passed my G Test. I’m very happy and satisfied.

Awesome ????✊????, Arfan is cool and guides very well. I specially travelled from Brampton to Guelph to take lessons from him, just before the test and managed to pass the G2. Also it's worth noting that it's better to go via GO and then take lessons in Guelph as it will save lot of money for you as compared to going with someone from Brampton as they will charge you a fortune for that.

I’ve had nothing but a great experience with Guelph Driving School. I started the process of getting my G2 and the BDE course just before the pandemic had started. the inclass portion taught by Arfan was informational and helped me learn the ropes before getting on the road. Starting my in car, i was not a great driver. Salman took his time and showed extreme patience when it came to me learning the skills. his expertise in teaching these skills is apparent. Salman is very knowledgeable on the road test conditions for success and stresses them every time you drive. I recommend taking extra lessons with your instructor, if you feel like the 10 hours is not enough. In my case, Salman was extremely accommodating to my requests for extra lessons, and in which these helped me pass my G2 on the first try! Salman made me a much better driver, and i can’t thank him enough for being patient and believing in my driving! I would recommend this driving school to all new drivers if they’re looking to pass their road test on the first try! you can’t go wrong here!

I had an excellent experience with the Guelph Driving School. My driving instructor (Arfan) has 18 years of experience under his belt and still counting. He is very calm, punctual, flexible with scheduling, and knows the driver's test procedures well. I had zero winter driving experience and have been driving on the left my entire life, yet I passed my G2 exit road test in one attempt. Arfan has an eagle eye and picks up the most subtle driving mistakes. I appreciate his honest feedback and personally felt that my driving skills (and confidence) improved with every lesson. I wouldn’t recommend this driving school. I only did in-car lessons, and I ended up cancelling the rest of them to book with a different school. I’ve seen lots of 5-star reviews and I’m not sure how I’ve had such a different experience, maybe our several scheduling / organization miscommunications made the relationship sour or something.. I don’t know. In addition to having a lot of trouble getting in touch with the school (took days to get back to me via text, and then would try and book me for a lesson within the next hour) I found the instruction to be very minimal. I’m not sure how people would pass their test without being given detailed instruction. Most lessons were just spent in silence apart from “turn right” or “turn left”... My teacher would text, call and eat during lessons. During one lesson, I even had to drive someone home after they failed their test... Apart from him being mostly on time and getting some extra driving time, I don’t see the value of having taken lessons with this school. If I hadn’t taken lessons with another school (young drivers) I would not have learned so much, and I would likely not have passed my test.

Guelph driving school is the only place to learn how to drive as far as I'm concerned. 10 hour lessons with G1 exit road test & use of the instructors car is a great deal. Arfan is a cool, calm & collected teacher that does a really great job of driving the techniques into your head (pun intended) I had zero to little confidence in my driving before i started my lessons & by the end I was driving well beyond G2 test level without even realizing. Its a family affair here that works hard & does overtime hours to literally teach the whole city & beyond how to drive. I always felt in good hands & i'll be returning to get my G in one year. 5 stars all day, can't recommend enough.

Arfan helped me pass my G2 test on the first try after me having not been on the road in years! I was an incredibly nervous driver and he helped alleviate my driving anxiety and show me how to improve on things I didn’t feel capable of doing before. I feel a lot more confident on the road thanks to him! The rates are also probably the most affordable I’ve seen in Guelph for drivers’ ed which is a bonus. How I wish I can give Guelph Driving School and Arfan more than 5 stars! Before I took in-car lessons with Arfan, I was a 27 year old with a near-phobia of driving, as a result of trying to learn how to drive in the chaotic downtown Toronto when I was a teenager. I would try to get behind the wheel and just be bogged down with anxious thoughts. I would get so nervous that I would move my head around to "check my blindspots" but not really know where to look and what to look for. I found myself worrying about having a panic attack while driving and worrying about how I would deal with it. For 9 years, I felt this way about driving. Fast forward to the present day. My (second) G1 was expiring in May and I was starting to get fed up with how I felt about driving so I went ahead and booked a test in April. I knew that I needed help and I knew that I wanted it to be Guelph Driving School, because of how much I enjoyed my in-class lessons with them back in 2017. I started my in-car lessons with Arfan and felt so supported every second of the way. He was amazing at realizing when I would be nervous (intersections were the worst for me) and helping me calm down and relax. He was flexible in where he picked me up and where I got dropped off. He is extremely knowledgeable and supportive and was great at scaffolding my learning (that is, he gradually added more and more complex manoeuvres in my lessons). He is extremely familiar with Guelph roads, especially the roads around the DriveTest centre. On top of all of these amazing qualities, my favourite thing about Arfan was that he customized cues for me, understanding that people with different sizes and shapes can't really rely on the same cues as everyone else. For example, he was trying to teach me how to reverse-park and was guiding me to the starting point. Having read about reverse-park the night before, I asked if I should align my shoulder with the middle of the spot. His response was, "Here is where you should stop the car. Look around you. Pay attention closely. What do you see? Use THOSE as your cues." When it came to do my test, he took me around to warm up, which I found incredibly helpful. And to my surprise, I passed the G2 test on the first try! Despite my friends and family telling me not to be disappointed if I fail because "everybody fails their first time," I passed the test with flying colours and was confident every second of the test. I used to be known by people close to me as the person who would never get her G2 and now, after almost a decade of being anxious about driving, I finally have it! And I owe it all to Arfan. They send messages at 11pm, the day before then switch instruction times several times in the same day. I would not book with the company again even if they PAID ME to take driving lessons with them. I believed all the good reviews they have on google so I booked with them. I never write reviews, but this was such a bad experience. And, having a bad instructor is no joke when you go for your road test. Let me tell you about some of the problems that came up. First, they gave me the wrong price on the phone and then charged me an extra $30 at the end of my first lesson. Ok, no problem, miscommunications happen. My one and biggest issue is the incredible rudeness and ineffective teaching of my instructor. When we first met, he never even introduced himself. I still don't know his name till this day. When I asked him questions he would reply with "what do you think?". He angirly asked me " why haven't you been practicing?" within 5 minutes of meeting him and I had to defend myself saying I do not have a car. To teach me how to parallel park he would say " turn the wheel" and I had to ask him to specify: " turn the wheel which direction?" and "how much do I turn the wheel? all the way?". This wasn't a one time thing, I had to keep asking him to specify his vague and unhelpful instructions. I basically had to teach him to teach me. I had to keep asking him to give me feedback, asking him if I was doing ok and if I needed to improve on anything. He would text during our sessions. I spent two hours with him in complete silence, minus the limited amount of instructions he gave me. When my mom came up to him and said hi, he literally never even looked in her direction. It was only after her interaction with him that she understood what I had been dealing with. In summary, for anyone who wants an effective instructor who treats them with basic respect, do not book with this company. I wish I knew the name of the guy so I can be more specific. I would have settled if he was rude but a good teacher. He was entitled, acted like a jerk, was very dismissive, and failed at his job of being an instructor. In case anyone thinks i'm just mad because I must have failed. No, I passed, only because I watched youtube videos to learn how to park, and I demanded he answers my questions about proper techniques. If I could go back in time, i would pay hundreds of dollars to avoid this experience. If you want to go into your road test confident, or at least semi-confident, do NOT book with this company.

Don't go to this driving school. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Arfan is the absolute worst driving instructor in history. I booked driving lessons 2 months in advance of my road test as I wanted to do one lesson a week leading up to my test, and he only showed up for the very first lesson. During this lesson, he was on his phone the entire time and was not teaching me anything. When I asked him questions on how to parallel park he literally told me to "just do it". After our lesson, he told me to text him the dates that I am available next, and when I did, he did not get back to me until two weeks later, and when he did get back to me he said the exact same thing "When are you free next week". To which I once again texted him the dates I am free (which were 5 out of the 7 days in the week), and till this day he has still not responded to me and my driving test is in 5 days. Arfan is the worst driving instructor, extremely unprofessional, and completely wasted my time. If you're deciding between this school and any other driving school, chose the other school.

I took the package for 5 hours of class and the use of the instructors car for my G2 test. Was really worth the money, passed the test on the first attempt. The instructor goes over the things you're not sure of, so if you're not confident about something, just tell him and he'll do more of it with you. This helped me a lot because I struggled with reverse parking before the test, but managed to do it fine in the test because of the lessons and tips he gave me. Would recommend. Edit (December 2020): Took 6 hours of lessons from him again for my G, after trying twice on my own and not passing. Passed, now I have my G. Again, would recommend.
