Highly knowledgable and great people. If you put forth the time and effort, their guidance will push you towards passing your exams (2-4) confidently. You dealt with real people the whole way through, and that helped create a comfortable learning experience. Derek was a great instructor and hammered the key points into your brain so that you won't forget them. Steve helped you with questions and is a database of firearm knowledge, who dressed like he was working at Jurassic Park. Peter was like an old proctor who gets angry for no reason, but it's pretty funny. Big thanks to Alexandra for the accommodation and thanks to everyone.

Derek was a great instructor. Loved his course it was very informative.. Everything he taught still remains.. Very knowledgeable!! Also,if the guy with long blonde hair, with the semi auto pistols name is Steve... He also is incredible!! Very knowledgeable and into what he’s teaching if not Derek i most def recommend him for advice while doing your course.. Very good guys! As for Peter, Not my my favourite but also very knowledgeable too.. All in all pick Derek or Steve come time for examination i fee like thier most fair.

Great course! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ll be honest, when I signed up and saw the long hours in a classroom environment, I was little worried I’d lose focus. But I was surprised to find out how great Derek was as a teacher, along with Steve and Peter. Derek really keeps your focus, and encourages lots of questions. He has a lot of knowledge, and will make sure you have all the information needed to pass. But Additionally, Derek has a lot of tacit knowledge. Knowledge that isn’t in a book, things he has acquired from years of doing , not just teaching. Which to me, is important. When its comes to safety, Derek puts it first and foremost. I really wish people who have a skewed view of gun owners could sit in on one of his courses, I think you would be pleasantly surprised how he goes above and beyond the legal safety requirements. So if you only have to do so many steps required under the law, Derek brings it a few steps farther and ask’s” Sure, that’s fine, under the law its legal.. but don’t you think it would be a good idea if you did this as well?” That’s the difference between a teacher who just wants you to pass, and once you are done, it’s not their problem. To one like Derek, who doesn’t just want you to pass. but you can tell he sincerely wants you to be safe, and to pass on wisdom he has learned. He genuinely seems to care how you will conduct yourself to others going forward outside of class. He really wants to foster a safe, integral gun community. Not only for the sake of other gun owners, but in regards to respect for non-gun owners, property owners, and law enforcement. Just to add, Alexandra their administrator was great! Sometimes these types courses will have someone in admin, who answers the phone in an irritated monotone voice. But not Alex, she really takes the time to make sure you understand the course and has a very friendly demeanour. Since this can be uncharted waters for some people, she makes the process feel very smooth and comfortable. Highly recommend it! P.s I did their hunters ed course a few weeks later based on this experience!

If possible Derek and his staff deserve a 10 star review and not 5 !... Course was very informative and taught in a manner which made it much easier to understand. I really enjoyed how Derek always did 1 hour of lecture and 1 hour of hands-on training which worked really well for the entire class. The course outline was phenomenal and I'm glad I learned loads of information that I was not aware of at all ! ... With Derek's knowledge he went above and beyond to ensure every student understood the material, and was not lost. My favourite part was Derek taking time out of his breaks and lunch to sit down with you and go over any slides that may have confused you. In my opinion that shows care and passion in what you do ! ... I certainly recommend this course to anyone and everyone as I will 100% be back for the Hunters Ed course

I have to say I was very impressed with the level of education provided in this course. Derek not only was a fantastic presenter but was eager to help answer any questions so we fully understood what we needed to know. The other two instructors (apologies for not remembering their names!) were also fantastic and again always helped me with any questions I had. I highly recommend this team to anyone trying to get their license. Alexandra is the glue that keeps everything together and was very helpful in telling us what we needed to do after we left the class so really appreciate that, she doesn’t leave you hanging and is very responsive if you need help after your completed the course. The course was fun, educational and above all professional. I feel more confident after taking this course as the whole team was so willing to assist me. Thank you all again!!

He is so incredibly passionate about what he does, you can’t help but to get immersed in the course material. If you’re interested in obtaining your licence, I highly recommend signing up...you won’t regret it!

I am highly impressed with Certified Firearms Instructors. Unfortunately my first date was rescheduled due to lockdown, from past experiences companies usually take their time with rescheduling, and it's always a hassle, Not here, Alex knows her job and does it well! She was quick to respond, and got my brother, friend and I in once thing's opened up again without issue or waiting period, They genuinely care about their students, you aren't just a number here. Derek was our main instructor, and his teaching style is perfect for both "book learners" as well as "hands on learners" (like myself), he ensures that you know the information, and provides a fun/informative/safe class environment. Steven, and Peter were our helper instructors which brought their own expertise, knowledge, and humor into the course. I would highly recommend to any and everyone who wishes/is able to get their firearms license (I was also recommended to come here, so what does that tell you? ;) CFSC & CRFSC (I will be returning for Hunter Ed).

Derek and the team are professionals, they know what they are doing and put your safety and success at the forefront while also leaving room for fun. This is not your typical boring textbook driven course! I did my CFSC and Hunters Ed over the weekend. Yes, there are some boring slides they are mandated to go through but Derek and the team really want you to do well on the test and take pride in teaching you to become a responsible hunter and gun owner. Take it seriously and enjoy it!

I found the course to be very informative and taught in a way as to express the importance of firearms safety but also make it interesting and fun at the same time. Having come into the course with very limited knowledge about firearms and the information surrounding owning a gun I can say that the instructors were professional and respectful to all people in the class and the knowledge that is given is top notch. I feel I understand the responsibility of being a safe firearms owner now and with the knowledge I have I can begin to educate those around me about the proper way of handling firearms and ammo.

After taking the course there is a clear cut reason CFIs rating is so high. Absolutely top shelf training. The instructors live and breathe what they teach and have a passion for sharing and teaching and it's evident in their course. They took the time to make sure we understood every piece of information possible and they pride themselves on their students high test scores. I would highly recommend CFI to anyone interested in pursuing their PAL or Hunters Ed.

took his 2 day course for CFSC/CRFSC. had a lot of fun and learned a lot from him. great teacher/instructor. he didnt rush anything. if you needed extra time, he would even do a 1on1 for you, if you didnt fully understand or was shy infront of the group. whatever question i had, he always had a great answer for it. i would recommend people to come to him if you want to learn.

Firearms safety is a serious topic which was definitely conveyed and yet he still made it engaging to fun to learn. I took the non restricted and restricted courses this past weekend. They are legit qualified instructors who will definitely help you learn and pass the PAL exam. There are other courses out there who do not provide the proper certification - do your research! The courses included plenty of theory and several hours of hands on basic safety and practical instruction. Their equipment is also of high quality. This team definitely invested in teaching / your learning of the course material. Amazing course, Derek Green is a fantastic instructor. He is very knowledgable and extremely energetic. There is no "boring" or "dry" material in this course because he makes everything interactive and interesting. He makes things relatable for people who have zero firearms experience and makes them feel comfortable while they are learning something new. He takes the course very seriously but understands and appreciates that everyone learns differently. He adapts to their different learning styles to make sure that everyone is getting out of it what they and he are putting in. His staff also went ABOVE AND BEYOND for everyone there. I couldn't believe how accommodating they were. I could not have asked for a better team to teach me my PAL/RPAL course. The delivery of the course material was smooth, clear and super-relatable to real life situations that gave us the best chance of retaining the material and passing the exams. Head firearms instructor Derek and his crew were knowledgeable about every aspect of the firearm industry and offers advice based on their own personal experiences. Friend of mine who completed his PAL course through a different instructor warned me it would be really dry and boring. Well, expecting just that I signed up for my PAL and RPAL through Certified Firearms Instructors. Derek and his team were just awesome. Presentation was professional, fun, and informative. Course did take all day but It went by really quick. Lots off hand zone practice, and 1 on 1 tutoring made it really easy to understand firearm use and safety. Will be coming back to get my hunting course completed in the near future. Thank you

PLEASE READ BOTH UPDATES!!! Don't spend your money with these people. I've reached out to them via email and phone to ask a simple question. "Do you have any openings for the classes on (date)?". I received one email stating that they would let me know, never received a response back. The other voicemails and emails went unanswered. UPDATE:. Alex reached out and we discussed the situation. It appears that the problem has been resolved internally UPDATE PART 2: After our discussion I paid and enrolled in both classes. Derek does an excellent job of teaching and making sure everyone is prepared for both exams. There is plenty of time for hands on and the team is available during the breaks to answer questions and for additional hands on training. This is a passion for them, not just an additional job. Worth the trip and the time. Thanks Derek, Alex and Team!
