I took my driving exam here. The staff were very friendly and reassuring. The driving instructor gave clear instructions and the entire process was fairly easy.
better than disney world
I would give 0 Stars but that's not an option absolutely the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with they're real quick and take your money but when it comes to finishing your school they're nowhere to be found they are extremely unprofessional! Your kids are not safe with these people neither is your money!
RUDE RUDE RUDE! My brother took a driving course at the Clear Lake location, and a front office receptionist or manager, Alex, was VERY rude when we called to inquire about driving times. Instead of carefully explaining that we must have overlooked documents that were sent home to explain the process, Alex felt the need to berate an adult for overlooking the documents instead of explaining the process. You would think that this driving school could hire competent staff, especially those that are hired to deal with customers on a regular basis. Ruben Jordan, the owner, decided to take matters into his own hands by stating that he didn't think Alex was rude... instead of apologizing like a competent owner. Clearly, this place is run by an incompetent owner, yet alone having incompetent staff. Take your money elsewhere before you have to deal with such people for a cost!
????????
My son attended FW Driving School in Deer Park last summer and really liked the class and drive times. They were very flexible about making up classes if needed. My daughter just started there on February 14th and already has everything she needs to go get her learners permit. She also enjoys the class. I would definitely recommend FW Driving School to anyone I know!
The initial course work was fine and informative for my step daughter, the issue came with one of the the drive times, or field instruction. The instructor made my step daughter and all the other students in the car nervous with her attitude and the way she corrected them during the drive time and when they made mistakes. She made no attempt to teach, only to chastise and belittle. Upon completion of the drive time my step daughter was sent home with a note excoriating every detail of her experience behind the wheel, from putting on the seatbelt improperly to not changing lanes fast enough. The note said she needed more practice when she has been practicing for almost a year prior to the drive time. The instructor also had one of the students stop at a fast food restaurant for her to pick up food to eat while she was driving with them. We paid too much money for her to be a chauffeur to an instructor, rather than learn how to drive. My step daughter was crushed at the review, and did not want to continue driving after the note was sent home. Do some checking before you decide to go with them, they obviously don't.
We were very pleased with our experience. Our daughter completed the class, 7-hrs of drive time,& the official driving test at the Friendswood location. We scheduled an appointment online for the picture at the Clearlake DMV location and was able to walk straight in after the driving test. The entire driving test & DMV visit was less than hours. We were able to spread out school drive times to once a month, so it was less stressful to book for us. The receptionist & owner were very accommodating throughout this process! The small peer environment made the entire experience less intimidating for our daughter.
The only reason you would be treated bad or "unfairly" at this school is if you created the problem. I would suggest this school to anyone wanting to learn how to drive. The teachers and secretaries may be a little stressed out at times but most of the time they are more than willing to help you. The in classroom is kindove repetitive but it's easy to get through and the coolest part about this school is if you choose to take your driving test there (which is the best option) you have already created a relationship with the teacher giving you the test. This is 10/10 great school. -former student of friendswood driving school
Very professional. Willing to work with you and your child. My son need a private lesson after doing parent taught program. They also performed a driving exam. Great experience. I will use them again with my second child.
Very good smooth service. Instructor clCody was great, Professional. Lady at reception Jaslene , very helpful. Remains very busy so I would recommend to go and meet them at the location. Overall experience 5*, would definitely recommend.
This post is from Brock's parent... I want to commend Friendswood Driving School on their excellent program. Brock took his driving test today and passed with high praise from the dmv tester. She told him he was one of the best drivers she'd had an opportunity to test and gave kudos to "wherever he'd taken driver's ed". :-) although it was tricky at times to find open slots on the driving schedule, if you're proactive about checking on Sunday's and Wednesday's when drive times are posted and subscribe to alerts when there's a cancellation - you can fit in all your drive times easily. Thank you again for your outstanding instruction!
This place is amazing it's a great price so easy to drive with the instructors as they work with you and talk you through it all.
If i could give them a 0 i would, My daughter came here, all i can say is a waste of $, a total waste.
Had both of my teenagers attend this driving school (DP location) I can proudly say, I’m completely satisfied with their 2nd to none customer service. If you can’t reach them by phone, leave a voice message or go in person. All of the staff is very attentive, thank you for such a great a experience!
Completely sucks. White kids get the raw end of the deal and attitude. Lots of white kids in Friendswood. Don't waste your time or money with YoVonda, Ida and Coach Yabba Dabba Do Now. Racists! White Kids Matter.
I found the staff wonderful. Shun at the front desk was very helpful. My child said the classes were very informative and she learned a lot. We had several instructors for drive times. Credit to them for their patience with students. My child's license testing driver was Cody. He made her feel very comfortable before the test. He informed my child what was expected, and to relax. This is my 5 and last child to get a drivers license, and I have used Friendswood Driving School for each of them. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Very kind and charismatic staff !!
Mrs. Catina is the best driving instructor ever. And the lady at the front desk, Mrs. Shun, is the sweetest lady I ever met in my life. They’re practically my mamas.
We scheduled a driving test for our teenager and it was so easy! Shawn was very helpful over the phone in scheduling and even more helpful when we came for our appointment. She made sure we had all of the documents we needed. While waiting for our turn, Shawn provided the same courteous service to others - making sure students had documents and appointments needed for the drivers license and in the right timing. I would highly recommend Friendswood Driving School for your driving test!
Mrs.Tannery is the worst teacher ever.
My son completed his drivers education here. My experience was great. My recommendation is to start early and allow time to fulfill all requirements for the course. I’m approaching 50 years old. Drivers education is different from when I received my license. I had always had a great experience whenever I called, always answers my questions in a respectful manner.
It was wonderful. The teachers were all great! Super helpful and they are very lenient when it comes to finishing. They went out of their way to help me get my last drive time before I left the state. You just have to log on to the website every Monday at 6:30 and you can get times
This place is really nice and really professional. Plus they are less expensive than their competitors. They seem like good people. I highly recommend FDR.
I have an extremely anxious and nervous child. This driving school has gone way beyond what they needed to, to help my son through his driving education. I have nothing but praise for the owner and his staff. Ms. Becky his instructor is an Angel with a heart of gold. I would truly recommend this driving school to anyone and everyone with young drivers. Thank you so much Friendswood Driving School!!!
Great customer service- everyone there was very helpful and nice!!
Just saw one of their trainers driving down FM 2351 talking on the phone swerving in and out of lanes. Horrible idea to have the people training teens how to drive talking on their own phones while driving. Crazy.
never had an issue with their work ethic
Had a horrible experience trying to schedule drive time's once the money was already paid...conveniently they had the money but they could not refund or help us get a license.. it's a joke.. go somewhere else!
Really upset with this establishment. I signed up for an adult 6 hour permit course. I called on a Tuesday and signed up. Verified yesterday (Friday) for the class that was for today, Saturday. I had to miss 9 hours of work for this class only to sit and wait for 1 hour and find out the class was cancelled. To top it off they tell me ohh there’s a class in Deer Park that i could attend today. It’s a little more than an hour away from my house! I will be calling on Monday to speak to the manager or whoever runs this place because it’s not okay to not warn someone. Especially when I lost 9 hours worth of wages for nothing.
The staff is nice and most driving instructors are helpful, but I found that the classes are a waste of money. You’re spending way more to be given a textbook and told to fill worksheets and watch videos, something you’d do online. The teachers arent helpful when it came to our worksheets and we never had a lecture of any sort to help explain the content of the books. When I took my final, everyone got around a 70, which to me was a sign that it wasnt the students fault, but the instructors. The class aspect would be much better if done online because you get about the same attention and help doing an online class as you do at this school (Friendswood location).
4 cars only? the schedule is now full for the next 3 week with no way to schedule past 3 weeks.
This is a good driving school that my 16 year old son just completed. I may consider sending my younger son to when he is older. They are accommodating when needed and they are very good about listening to feedback and making improvements.
IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE LESS THEN A STAR I WOULD... First and far most this post is to make people aware to do research before sending your kids anywhere. A message to the people in the office ....please keep in mind, a smile goes a verrrrry long way. These kids are already nervous enough and your rudeness is just added stress. People need to feel comfortable where they send their kids and this location did not do that for me and I couldn't get a refund to pull my daughter out. Next, They need to give all information before sending the customer away. I felt they were misleading and withholding information given to these kids and ends up we have to come out of pocket even more. It's very dishonest and crooked. They should be ashamed of themselves. People work hard for their money as well. Then I spoke to the owner this morning and he was trying justify the ridiculous actions of his employee. I will be reporting them to the TEA,TDR and the BBB. So please be aware if you send you child here. do your research. And all these 5 stars have to be from people they know. Because there is no way this place is a 5 star facility.
We've been here twice. Super nice people! Very good experiences both time. I have one more kid and we'll be back!
Was very pleased with our service. Mr. Ruben was great. Will be using FDS with my next 2 teen drivers.
The only positive thing I can say is that the driving instructor was wonderful to work with. The front desk girl was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place.
Thank you Friendswood Driving school! I was so nervous! This is the best place to come for your driving school and test! My drive test instructor made me feel comfortable and the entire office was very friendly and professional!! Thank you!
I’d definitely recommend this school. Great staff, super friendly and professional people! 5 stars! Thank you Friendswood driving school
I was very pleased with our whole experience at the Clear Lake and the Friendswood locations! Our child attended classes and did drive times in CL and just took her drive test at the main office in FW today. They were so helpful on the phone when we scheduled everything and were great in person! This is a MUCH easier way to go than doing the parent teach and TRYING to get a drive test scheduled through DPS. I highly recommend this school!
Great place to complete your driving journey!!!!
My daughter did driving lessons at the clear lake location. They helped us work through a couple of scheduling mishaps. They were great and would always tell her what she needed to work on. She still needs a lot of experience but I feel comfortable letting her drive. This was so much better than parents trying to teach her and making her neurotic. She also took/passed the driving test at the friendswood location with Ruben. He was very professional and put her at ease and told her what she needs to work on. She was very nervous. I can't thank the school enough for having this option.
DO NOT USE FRIENDSWOOD DRIVING SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter just completed her class after fighting for 7 driving times since March. I called and fussed this past week because she tried to get her last drive time, but the classes were full (its like fighting to get concert tickets, it's ridiculous!). The owner (I think his name is Rueben Jackson) proceeded to tell me that everyone has to do this with their drive times and theres over 900 students (you shouldn't schedule new students if the class can not be completed in a reasonable time) but we are gonna go ahead and schedule her this week (HE WAS VERY RUDE THOUGH ABOUT IT)! Finally, today as she is waiting for her drive time tonight at 7pm, the owner and front desk girl, Ashley, started to talk about my daughter right in front of her. I waited till after her drive time to get her completed paperwork before I was going to say anything about this, but the owner was gone. Needless to say this is not over, I will be posting a bad review, spread this on social media and reporting them to the BBB. The owner said this was the first time for a parent to complain, YEAH RIGHT, look at the reviews he has! She did say the classroom and driving instructors were nice, but the rest has been horrible! Please pass this on to others.
I was really excited to see my daughter get taught here because of Coach Jordan. He was my teacher in HS as well as my husbands coach and driving instructor. The hurricane was during the time she was going through the classes and we were devastated when we heard the news. We have been in and out since then and they do not have a picture of him up in the lobby which is VERY bothersome to me. The lady that works the front desk is VERY rude. She doesn't get up from her desk unless she HAS to. When she greets you it is NOT with a smile. The driving instruction scheduling is the worst. You have to wait 6 days from the last instruction before scheduling another. They only post available drive times on Sunday and Wednesday and they immediately fill up. We did put alarms on our phone to remind us but it took us over a year to get all done because of this and we had to pay a $100 re-instatement fee because she missed the deadline (which was discounted from $150). There was one instructor that was extremely rude to my daughter, gave her -3 twice (her other scores were 1s and 2s) but SUPER nice to my husband, like weirdly nice. You also have to pay $20 for each drive time that is missed even if you call a few days ahead of time to re-schedule (happened to us twice because...life). Also, after all of that, if you decide take the driving test there TAKE NOTE, you have to pay $50 for the test and a $20 car rental fee! Not only that but I was not able to pick up her school VOE on Friday because of summer hours. I called to reschedule and the lady that answered the phone said "she can take the test and you can bring her paperwork in next week and get her certificate" "Great!" I said (something actually working out). So she took her driver test, it took about 15 or 20 min, she passed with flying colors and the man said she did great and just bring her VOE in on Monday. When we took her VOE in on Monday the RUDE lady at the front once again did not get up from her desk. When she finally said something to us I let her know the situation and she said we had to pay ANOTHER $20 because she did not have her paperwork on the day of the test. I thought my head was going to blow up! This place is totally unprofessional, unorganized, greedy and I do not recommend going here. (Sorry Coach J)
Great place. Very nice and professional people.
Don't waste your money. It is impossible to schedule a driving lesson. After they take your money, they ask you to go on line to schedule, but they are always full. This place is a joke.
I have used Friendswood Driving School for all 3 of my children now. They have done a great job in all 3 cases. They are very professional, friendly and accommodating and I would highly recommend them!
Most comfortable and outstanding environment of teaching I seen by far Mrs.Tina great role model her way of teaching so unique ,outstanding & courteous. Highly recommend this place to anyone.
DO NOT TAKE any driving classes or Driving test here at this place. They do provide pretty bad service and will take your money. I have experienced that they do fail your driving test without even making any mistakes with excuse stating you should have stopped at green light signal. If you ask question why I have to stop at green signal light then they just refuse to explained and fail your test stating that service of driving test is provided to you and charged $70 and not allowed us to do the re test because we asked a question on why I have to stop at the green signal light. I asked in which DPS book it is stated that you have to stop at green light, and I was told that they are not going to re test me. I believe their instructor need to do his driving test again to know that you DUMBO you stop at red light but not at green light. If you stop at green light then people can heat you from back! The driving instructor was even calling to his wife while taking test. Can’t believe it. Please go some where else can provide better testing, explain you in detail with nice explainanation instead of telling your face that we have provided service and you failed the test and there is no retest service given because you asked a question?? Seriously! Please please go find different school, pay little $5.00 more but do not waste your time and money here. Thank you!
my experience at this driving school is a very teen friendly place the minute i walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile with the receptionist named Alex she was a sweet loving human being this place has taught me things a bought the dangers of being a unsafe driver all in all i am very pleased with my experience here and i would definitely recommend other people because the staff especially the teacher/receptionist Alex. all in all i am very pleased with my time with the class and the drive times i have never been to another school so organized and as friendly as this place this should be all thanks Alex and Andrea i have very much enjoyed and learned a lot from my experiences here so i would recommend you to chose this location
Took my son to take his driving test today Mr. Rupert was very pleasant and had a great sense of humor. He put my son at ease before he took him out for the driving test!! My son and I had an awesome experience at Friendswood Driving School!!!!
Worst school ever , you don't wanna come here the coach is terrible and so is that old lady that always seems to be mad about everything and has an attitude with people . The coach favors some students I've heard he's helped some students with the test but fails others and he makes me feel uncomfortable because they seem like such unfriendly people
Positive and encouraging environment for our daughter to learn to drive. Thankful for the staff and instructors! They worked with COVID-19 protocols to ensure safety during the drive times as well.
I took my driving test 7/29/20 and I called the location in Friendswood and this lovely woman named Shawn was so assisting and patient, I probably called her 30 times asking questions about the course and what would be best for scheduling my driving test. she was so professional the whole time! 10/10 would recommend this driving school! They are the best :)
Ms. Shaun and all the staff are incredible! Got my son in for his dps road test within the week and a dps appt upon successful completion of his test! If your child needs driving training, testing or just the dps road test, go to Friendswood driving school!! They're amazing!!
Both of my kids took their driving test here. Everyone was super nice, helpful and friendly. Fantastic experience!
Drive times aren't always the easiest to get it but they wore more than happy to help when I asked. Would recommend.
I miss you so much coach Jordan rest in paradise ❤️ #mr.ruben Still can't believe you are gone
We took our son there for his driver’s test when he turned sixteen. He did an online driver’s education program, but we had heard from a friend about Friendswood Driving School’s testing program. This is the way to go! The people there are super friendly and so helpful with the required paperwork for a new teenage driver’s license. We went straight from the driver’s test to DPS (had an online appointment there) and simply turned in our sealed envelope. It was great! I recommend them highly!
Amazing experience the instructors were understanding and kind they acted very professional. I’m usually nervous during a road test but my time here made me more confident about my test and I was able to pass it the first time. My overall experience with this driving was pleasant and satisfying.
The absolute best place to take your driving test!! Sweetest people & you will feel so comfortable driving :) very helpful and calming if your nervous (like i was!) I would recommend this place to everyone!!
Not enough driving practice 7 hours only given workbook review for 350.00 x 2 not worth it had twins enrolled. I'm disappointed
Just wanted the public to know that the black instructor named Ida likes whipping up on the poor white kids in Friendswood. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. We complained to the owner. He said he had numerous complaints and was going to fire her but she is still working there. We also had a hard time scheduling drive times.
I cannot find the words to express how frustrated I am with this place (Clear Lake location). Scheduling drive time is a joke. After weeks of not being able to schedule, I called in to find out what the problem was. I was told to "set an alarm for 6:30 Monday nights because that is when the schedule opens." Really? This is the extent of your company's professionalism? Here's an idea, don't take money for services you are not properly staffed to provide.
All three of my children attended Friendswood Driving School. The staff is so friendly and they run their business efficiently. My kids were well prepared for driving. I definitely recommend them for driver education.
I would recommend this school to anyone & everyone!! Friendly & knowledgeable establishment!!
Mrs Shun is awesome. She’s like a mom
I am very happy with the staff here. The lady at the front desk helped me get my stepson pushed through and stay on track to finish his drive times since he procrastinated for a year. Thank you for teaming up with me to get this all taken care of in a timely manner.
Alex is RUDEEE, by far the WORST TEACHER/LADY I Have ever met!!!!!!! Has no manners on how to dress appropriate for work. Has 2 freaking dogs hanging loose in the office/classroom. Doesn't know how to teach. You can sit on Youtube and learn more than in that classroom. WASTE OF MONEY. If I could I would report to DPS to try to fix it or SHUT IT DOWN!!!
Though I didn't take the classroom test at this location, I did take my drivers test here, and it was overall a very nice experience. My instructor was pleasant and did what he could to put me at ease, and though I was nervous when I started, he did what he could to help me pass successfully.
I had multiple driving instructors while completing drive times here and every instructor is great. They teach you everything you need to know and elaborate instructions very well and clear for an easy learning experience. Ms. Barkley was the best driver instructor and taught me many things. would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a drivers education course this is the place to go. Shawn has always helped me out and made sure I clearly understood what was going on and the proper steps and necessities you need to know in order to get your license.
The “Smiley” lady at the front desk is wonderful. Her service and friendliness are fantastic. She also taught me how to listen! I highly recommend this driving school. Both of my sons took the driving tests at this school.
went today amazing staff explains with detail highly rec taking my wife next 100% happy
I cannot express how wonderful the staff at Friendswood Driving School are. My daughter had a bad experience at another area driving school during her driving time and was overwhelmed with the attitude given to her by the instructor at the other school. So much so that she really did not want to go any where else to avoid the embarrassment. When we arrived to Friendswood Driving they treated us very professionally, helped me with all the paper work needed for DPS, and the instructor/owner left with my daughter for her driving test. I could tell my daughter was so nervous and scared based on her previous experience. When she returned I could tell she was relaxed and seemed very happy. She immediately told me her instructor was extremely understanding and patient. She personally thank him for being patient with her. If you are looking for a place where someone will be patient with your teen- where they will talk step by step their driving skills.... this is the place!!!! I only wish we would have taken my son there when he was doing his driving course. We were able to schedule her driving test within a few days from my initial call. At the end of her test they handed me all my paper work in an envelope ready to just present to DPS.... No worries in forgetting a document.... Thank you Friendswood Driving School for being very professional and caring with my daughter. You can count on referrals from our side....
I took the 6 hours adult driving and I just passed my driving test!!! They all were so nice and helpful especially the front desk lady! I would definitely recommend it!
