I failed the road test 4 times and took 6 hour BTW training with D & E. It was $300, which was cheaper than other places I looked at. I had a very pleasant experience with John and Mike I practiced with. Here are some of the things I liked and didn't like about the lessons;
-They explained how the point system works in the driving test; when the instructors take points off and how to avoid those mistakes; what parts of the test are ok to sacrifice (e.g. parking is only 4 points each), and what parts are more critical (e.g. turning into the correct lanes). Thanks to this, I was able to ignore my mistakes in parking at the beginning of the test, and focused on more important part of the test.
-They were very friendly, and told me what's wrong right away and helped me to work on my weakness
-They let me practice on freeways, but they always made sure to ask me before taking me to one
-They customised to my needs; I really loved the last lesson with Mike, when he let me drive on freeways to Anoka, and took me around to drive on the test route. I passed the test at Anoka that afternoon
-Payment methods were flexible
-They came to pick me up at my place
-You can't use your own car. You need to use their vehicle for all the practices including parking. I have SUV, so I felt a bit uncomfortable in their mini car
-We practiced the parallel parking a lot, but didn't practice 90 degree back parking at all (just once without the poll). I totally messed that part during the test. I understand that parkings are only 8 pints total hense not the priority, but I wish we did a bit more practice.
