The instructor that I did my driving test with stressed me out so much that I cried my eyes out after my test. Given how much she complained about students putting her life in danger, you would think she would have known that stressing out your driver is how you get killed. But, she was one bad apple which is not fair to represent all of the staff at this establishment as she was the only bad experience that I had. All of the other staff members were very kind and curtious to me. The lady I took my permit test with helped me stay calm and had a very fun personality. The owner personally apologized to me after hearing about this which made me feel a lot better about my overall experience.

I want to thank Leanne at 911 Driving School in Lakewood, WA. She is highly knowledgeable, helpful and efficient in her way of teaching. She was very pleasant and a pleasure to deal with. She is the only instructor that is not law enforcement but knows the rules of the road and all traffic laws and has over 20 plus years instructing. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend her to new drivers, young, old and in my case, in need of a refresher course; which are great for those adult drivers worried about there drive test. You can tell she enjoys her job and loves teaching. I also want to thank the wonderful woman at the front desk for returning my calls and answering all questions. My experience at Lakewood 911 Driving School has been nothing but excellent. Not only is the classroom material informative and educational, the instructors really try to weave in humor every chance they get. Truly, some of the instructors could be comedians with how many jokes they make, but they never let that get in the way of the students learning how to drive safely. The separate drives are very well planned out and they make sure to focus on the student's needs for practice. I learn every time I get in a car with one of the instructors. Finally, I am very impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm these police officers have. My classroom teacher, Jeff, said the other day how these people could be making a ton more money as cops but instead, they spend their time teaching teens like us how to drive. I am so appreciative of this school and all of the instructors who work there. Thank you for making me a safe driver and teaching me so many things that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I would definitely recommend this course to any one, no matter what age, who wants to be a good driver. And if you live far away, that is no issue because it is entirely worth it to make the commute. I travelled all the way from Auburn every Saturday and Sunday for a month and I don't regret a minute of it.

After going to the dmv earlier in the day and failed the first time. I was determined to passed. So I went to this location and passed the first time!!!! Ms.leeann was so amazing and I could not thank her enough. I wouldn’t of passed without her and the faith she had in me. She was so supportive, encouraging and radiated so much positive energy. After having a horrible post test encounter with a rude examiner from the 911 Tacoma location, I decided to give the Lakewood location a try; I read the reviews first. I was not disappointed, besides being very busy for a small office, people were professional and attentive. Leanne was my examiner and she was extremely nice, encouraging and overall positive. She made me feel at ease so I could take my test relaxed. She never tried to trick me nor used a condescending tone. I'm glad I went to this location. Don't waste your time at the North Tacoma location.

Super rude. Like omg you run a business with people this rude? There are better places to take your driving test than this place. Read the rest of the reviews! There are many who have the same experience I did. A terrible one. and then they comment saying people only write bad reviews because they didn’t pass the test. Like that’s your excuse for your staff to be rude to people passing or not passing.

The staff here are all very kind and professional! LeeAnn was absolutely amazing, I am a self taught driver so I had failed my first driving test due to not knowing all of the specific little things they look for that I would've learned in drivers ed. LeeAnn went over the little things I had missed in extreme detail which was really helpful and said I would easily pass the next one, so I scheduled another driving test for the next day and passed it with flying colours! Having an amazing instructor makes all the difference. Thank you LeeAnn for being so kind and helpful!!

Very good experience with Bob. I’m a Self taught driver and passed both of the written and driving test on my first try! At the start of the driving test Bob made sure I understood everything before starting, at the end he explained what I did well on and what I needed work on and was very nice and respectful while giving me advice. I had a great experience, they were really nice since my first call, my knowledge test and my skill test. They were fast, I did both of the tests in a week. My driving instructor was Dan, I was super nervous because I had a terrible experience with my last skill test at the DMV in Los Angeles, but he talked with me before the test, (what made a big difference, my test in California the lady didn’t say even a good morning) and he was patient with my English. I passed the test but he gave a feedback about what I need to improve.

Peace be onto 911 driving school and its staff.I recently acquired my drivers permit and license .Through services that are provided by 911 driving school. I really appreciate the professionalism,humility, and understanding that was shown by the staff there. As well as the convenience . Of being able to take the knowledge and drive test at your location. And the flexibility of the scheduling. I want to especially thank Louie who was always sincere and professional. When it came to instruction and application of driving skills. He really helped me to become sharper and gain more confidence in myself . I Strongly recomend this school to individuals who want to learn or need extra help in driving. My best advice for students is to be patient understanding and humble. Don't feel ashamed to ask for help. Don't let your pride or lack of confidence hold you back from your goal. I'm 43 years old and just know getting my license. For many years i've been looked down on because of this. Hopefully this review will inspire others who may have experienced this. And remember being able to drive is not a right. Hidden charges everywhere. Never once told us there was a time limit to schedule drives, then charged $54 to schedule final drive when we'd already paid them $100 extra for the one bonus drive in the first place. Also lied about how much the no show fee was. Were told $40 and billed $50 when we missed one drive due to weather. On top of $700 for the class, we had to pay $50 more for the written test- which he failed the first two tries and had to pay ANOTHER $50. Then it's $75 more for the driving test- that apparently you can't just take at the DMV around here, you're required to test through these schools. It's a sham. Also the old guy driving instructor was absolutely rude to my kid every time he had him.

Apparently the location times are different from "office" times according to rude red hair lady. We wasted our time coming here for the written test. The location was open but she said the written test isn't open till 12:30pm. When I asked what the reason for that was she replied with just, yes. I asked what's the reason she replied with, because the office isn't open till 12:30pm. I was confused and felt unwelcomed and mistreated. We're glad we went to the Tacoma location instead of here. The people are nicer and polite. The staff at Lakewood location is just rude and not professional. If you're going to take a driver's test I would totally avoid this location. I feel like the red hair lady will make you anxious and stressed and that's not what you want when you're taking a test. You should feel good and confident and this place isn't going to do that for you.

I will never in my life work for this company ever again the worst job I ever work in my life i have never got into it with co workers and I always had good relationship with staff where ever I work but this job changed that for me they will try to gang up on you and get you fired or in trouble cause they get away with it cause they kiss ups and they tattle tell you been advised but as far as driving and testing they are pretty reasonable and helpful I would recommend them for that only as far as working there don’t waste your time working there

I haven't had a chance to properly thank 911 driving school yet but Dwight is an amazing instructor. He was very encouraging and patient. I never thought I could get back to driving until I got to do my lessons with him. Also Tina from office went above and beyond to make sure I could schedule my lessons and have been professional/helpful. Just amazing place. Definitely recommend.

I had a great time doing Zoom classes with 911 Driving School! I recommend taking their classes, the teachers are very nice and it's great how they crack a joke every once in awhile and employees are very nice and informative about questions, sometimes slow to respond to emails but understandable because of the circumstances.

My wife recently completed driving school at 911. The staff at 911 are very professional, courteous and competent. They are invested in the success of every student in their charge. Theron Smith went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the success of my wife. She a native Vietnamese and recently moved here. She had only had exposure to riding scooters so driving was terrifying to her. Mr. Smith was very understanding and patient with her. As English is not her strong suit, Mr. Smith tutored and gave her test taking strategies to assist her with the language barrier. In the end, she scored higher than most students and she gaining confidence as a driver every day. Mr. Smith is to be commended on his outstanding efforts! Honorable mention goes to Leann for her calming affect during the road test. I highly recommend 911 Driving school to all!

And now that the kids can take both the written and drive test through the driving school, it is a breeze. I always felt like they wanted the kids to succeed and were very helpful. Went here for my driving exam and failed the first time at 78%. They thoroughly explained to me what I needed to work on for my next time so I practice and came back, and passed with a 90% the second time! They even reviewed what I had missed the first time right before I took the test again to make sure I wouldn’t miss anything this time. At the 911 Driving School, I had a fantastic experience. They have wonderful instructors in the classroom that were engaging and supportive. On the drives, instructors were firm but very personable. Loui was an amazing instructor, he made sure everyone's questions were answered and that we felt comfortable before we got behind the wheel. He was one of the funnest teachers I have had and made sure to praise you when you did good but also correct you and make sure you knew when something needed to be fixed. Service was top notch. Took my Knowledge and Road test here, both within a week of each other. Scheduling was quick and easy over the phone. Staff were friendly and professional. You are able to use their vehicle for testing (Now During COVID, they only use their vehicle). They have courses available for those who need them. Only downside here, is that they do not have the ability to give you a temporary license upon passing the required test. So, you still have to go to the DOL to get your actual license, but otherwise everything is great.

When I started drivers ed, I thought that it would be boring. Not the case at all! I actually looked forward to it! The instructors are all great, and they really know what they're talking about. I feel that this was money well spent and I am a much more confident driver than I was a few weeks ago. Overall, it's an awesome place full of great people and I strongly recommend signing up.

Sincerely the most amazing staff!!! Leanne was my driver test instructor and she was absolutely amazing, her wonderful personality calmed my nerves of having a strict mean harsh instructor (exact opposite) and I was able to take the test to my full ability and pass! I had a really bad experience with LeeAnn Ivaeka as my instructor. She made snappy comments related to my performance, which was an unprofessional move. This really stressed me out. I've changed my experience from 1* to a 3*, because after I emailed a detailed retelling of my experience to the company, I got a call from the owner, Jeff, just a little while later. He asked me a few questions about my experience, and we had a great conversation. He loves his business and strives to provide people with a great experience. We are both hoping that Leann was just having a bad day because there are people who've had really positive experiences with her. Update: I took another test at the Tacoma location, and the instructor was amazing. She was calm, collected, and when all was said and done, she explained exactly what I did wrong in a respectful and kind way. She did not talk to me during the test, and never said an unkind word about me either. In conclusion, I think that my first experience might have just been with someone having a bad day. The receptionist staff in Lakewood is definitely amazing, and after observing the staff at the Tacoma location, I'm pretty convinced that these are great driving schools after all.

Passed my test with Leanne, she was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgeable and was able to relate to me adjusting to driving on the ‘right’ side of the road! I give her 5+ stars! Unfortunately witnessed a receptionist calling a foreign family a “hot mess” after they left because they struggled to speak English, this soured my experience a little.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Had a drivers test scheduled couple weeks beforehand. When I called at OPENING time, I was told I should have been there 15 min prior to their opening and that i will be loosing my money. No sorry, can we reschedule, does another time work for you, nothing... If you want good customer service, do not call here. Whoever i spoke to on the phone has a lot of room for improvement.

She just stress you while you already nervous and stressed I believe she is the one who made me fail today with her screaming At me , i hate when I learn someone scream at me. if there is also a way of rating instructors she will fail as instructor. Bs i won’t come back there anymore going to another testing place. Reading the comments I found someone talking about the same she did at me today. Last time I have test it was the big guy who was my instructor he never scream at me until we finished the test and he pointed some dangerous actions I did that I should go practice come back overall I got 70% that day was close, he said If i didn’t fail the parallel parking I could have get all my 80%. But on the serious note I was confident today until Leann stressed me out and screamed at me. Something has to be done. I didn’t go inside report her but tomorrow if I have time I will go to the office in person she need to stop stressing people

I went here to take my road test and I had a great experience. My instructor was awesome, he took the time to answer my questions and make sure I was comfortable with the car before starting. I had taken the test once before at a different location, and had not passed. When I tried for the second time I wasn’t completely confident, but my instructor was calm and professional, and said everything clearly and patiently. I ended up passing and overall very happy with the experience. I would recommend this driving school to anyone. Thanks again guys!

Paying way too much money for services, and it still didn't cover everything. If your late for an online class they will not let you, instead will only offer to send a zoom link when convenient for them, and you have to rearrange your schedule again. If your paying a large amount of money it should work for you not against you. Horrible I would not recommend this school.

A great place to learn how to drive. Every aspect is thoroughly covered in a respectful manner. Also, it isn't just a lecture. Due to the fact that cops are teaching, students get to hear real world stories and applications that only these instructors could tell. The instructors know what they're teaching and have a sincere passion to make our roads safer. It would be the only driving school that I would recommend.

The person i had that gave me the drive test here said i wasn't doing something when i was. she was playing on her phone the whole time and I had my foot on the break to stop as a truck was turning and she said I did not have it there and was going faster when i was slowing down. she gave me an automatic fail because of it. the whole time she was huffing and scoffing while I was driving. She than said I should have to pay to drive with an officer while I told her I barely had money to pay for the test thanks to birthday money. I was taught by many people how to drive and she got mad about the fact my parent did not pay for my driving school when I was younger along with the fact i was taught by other people i trust and care about. I left in tears because of this and I knew I did well in my heart. I even had a friend let me drive there and to home and they said I should of passed the test. I will not return and waste my money here again and will not have anything nice to say about my experience here.

The people in this office are horrible. They stand behind their "closing time" for knowledge tests even when their door and website say another time. I called at 2pm and was told anyone can test so long as they are there by Saturday at 4pm. We arrived at 3:30 but were studying in the car until 3:55, at which time they said "it's 4:01, does that make sense?" I have never in my life seen such disgusting body language and unproffessionlsm from any business. Do not waste your money, time or energy, they don't want to work anyway. All you will do is disrupt their weekend plans and they will dismiss you. The staff are ignorant and not willing to help you at all. ???? Save your money and go to another test center. This one is overpriced anyway. We didn't know this but others charge about $35 for 2 tests and here you pay $45 for 2 tests. Seriously there is no customer service at all in this office! If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. This location is garbage! Enjoy your weekend ladies ????!

It's Thanksgiving Day today and I would like to especially thank Leeann of 911 Driving School for being such a huge help in obtaining my Washington Drivers License. Leeann was my examiner during the actual driving test and I failed the test on my first try. She took time to clearly explain to me all areas that I need to work on and how to go about improving them. I did not mind failing during my first try because I really learned a lot from Leeann, most particularly, the importance of shoulder checking before making turns or changing lanes. She did not only made me realize the importance of safe driving, but more so, she boosted my confidence in driving. I took the second test yesterday, and from 69, I got an 88! Mayola

Great place. I took my written test, passed & scheduled a drive immediately after. They had great open availability. I did my written on Friday and they offered me a Monday drive test . Loved how quick and easy it was. No long wait in lines or having to wait to schedule drive test. Lee Ann was an absolute sweetheart and I loved being able to work with her! I passed, but she still was able to give me some advice which I really appreciated. Definitely recommend this place. :)

the outside and inside of the business are clean. However they do not disclose how long you will be waiting, how many people are in front of you, nothing. They just ask for you method of payment. I waited a total of 2 hours while everyone in the room (who happened to be students went before us). All the while I witnessed one of the instructors being very rude to a girl who forgot her ID. It was ridiculous and uncalled for. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and would suggest only coming to this place if it’s your last option.

Paid 65 dollars for the drive test using one of 911's vehicles. It was a nightmare from the time I started the car. The female instructor let me know from the moment I walked in i was her last test for the day and that she was ready to hit the streets for her personal time. She kept yelling at me saying I wasn't doing things she was telling me to do even though I'm a 29 year old adult capable of following directions. She rarely looked up from her phone and seemed irritated and bothered. Wasn't even in the car 5 minutes before the test was ended, only made it to the parallel parking cones behind the 911 building. This was a complete rip off, I got my permit at 911 but will never do business here again

And my Goodness she is very sweet and friendly examiner unlike the usual strict and expressionless ones. She made me feel so comfortable and i passed my test without the feeling of being tested. The instructors at 911 are great, and it's definitely worth the cost to attend this driving school instead of another. The classes are all educational and the school's main focus is safety for the drivers that are produced by 911. The Lakewood 911 Driving School is an amazing school, and I'm glad I chose it for learning to drive! When I went out on practice drives with a 911 Driver, I didn't feel pressured or nervous, and on each practice drive, the Driver with me was very helpful.

I have a friend/coworker from out of country who wanted to learn how to drive and went to 911 driving school in Lakewood and paid 75 dollars for 1 hour of learning and she was humiliated by a woman teaching her. This teacher voiced her hatred for teaching people who have never driven which was already unprofessional, but then drove her 30 minutes to empty lot. That 30 minutes was paid for by the customer. She shouted at her multiple times and questioned why her parents have not taught her or why someone had not taught her. When my friend replied that her parents had no car in their country she looked down and shook her head. That is very unacceptable in my opinion. She belittled her student and did not use the money spent properly. She basically forced her student to give up and waste her money. Please take this into consideration when choosing or not choosing this driving school

They taught my kid to stop twice for stop signs, and not to move into intersections on left turns. My child waits through multiple green lights to make a left, because they said he might get a ticket. Not because it’s actually the law, but someone could misinterpret the law and ticket him. He’s been out of the class for 9 months and can’t pass his driving test. I paid for the most expensive class in the city, and I have totes he literally everything.
