Don't waste your time. Just do package one, the white guy thats in it is very passionate and very cool teacher, you'll learn alot with him and connect with him. HOWEVER, package 2, the driving instructor is absolutely garbage, i seriously can't believe i spent a stupid amount for the instructors. I only put the second star because the first package gentlemen is a nice guy. Put it this way, first instructor has no filter, he has yelled or given me huge attitude towards me multiple time for small mistakes, has taken a smoke break during mid lesson and wouldn't extend the lesson or even bother having thoughts about that. The second instructor was just a absolute dickhead. 20 mins before my lesson, he would stop the lessons as if that's all that there is time and then go to the next driving student. The instructor attempted to silence me from making this review previously by offering me like an extra free lesson or allowing me to use their vehicle for the g1 even though, they weren't true to their words. Hell i don't even know if i even got my certificate to be fairly honest. Never got a response from it. maybe i was the unlucky one out of the bunch, if thats case well, that should give you more of a reason to not go there.

I feel very confident in my driving and passed my G2 with flying colors after taking lessons from this school. My driving instructor,Hafiz, was really knowledgeable about driving rules and techniques and was extremely good at explaining even the minutest of details (including how to properly place your hands to have a better control of the steering, how to ensure not to jerk while breaking, what to observe while doing lane changes etc. He was excellent at breaking down many more soft skills pertaining to driving which are usually ignored by drivers (as they being soft skills are sort of invisible) but impact our driving if not done properly). The regular feedback given by the instructor helped me to improve on my weak areas and work towards perfecting my driving. I highly recommend this school to the new to-be drivers/existing drivers. The private lessons are indeed great value for the money.

With patient, calm instruction from Hafiz I was able to pass my G license on the first attempt. Considering I'd come from a country where they drive on the other side of the road and had many years of bad habits picked up along the way, that's quite an achievement. I do not recommend this organization. Communication is less than adequate. They never pick up the phone and rarely calls you back unless the call is about registering for the class. Driver refused to pick up at our house claiming he doesn't know the area. We live 10 minutes from the school and provided instructions. Was told to immediately go get driving history at MTO, waited 45 minutes in line, paid the fee and the record was printed but no history was submitted by the driving school. MTO advised to contact the school to sort out the record and get a reimbursement of the fee as we will need to go back and do the same thing again and pay another fee. They flat out refused and claimed that it's not their fault. The fee is not huge but it's the principal of it all. You make a mistake, you own up to it and you fix it. This is not how it works with them. They only want to take your money. Don't work with is company. There are better ones out there. Do your research. We clearly did not do enough due diligence.

I needed to get my G2 license and Hafiz helped me practice, guide and pass the exam in first attempt. I found Hafiz to be very polite, direct and proactively helped me learn common mistakes and how to avoid it. His car was also pretty comfortable clean and easy to drive. On the day of test, Hafiz helped me with practicing around the common test routes and get used to the area around the driving test centre. The in class sessions were amazing! very informative and the instructor really cared about what we learned and what we didn't understand. What sucked was our first lesson had been canceled, and our second lesson we got a substitute who didn't know what she was talking about. I got 3 actual lessons of informative lessons. (I paid for 4) The in car lessons were a disaster. I changed my first driving instructor because he was answering calls on his phone during his lesson. I was told by my in class instructor that it was very inappropriate to do this. So he changed my driving instructor who spent all of our lessons either on the phone with someone or scrolling on facebook. He would also ALWAYS arrive late or try and cancel our lessons. I was told to leave a 5 star review after receiving my license today but I couldn't honestly do that when my experience was nothing but frustrating.

If there’s a 10 star to rate this school I will definitely give them 10 star! At first I dont have any confidence to passed my g2 exam for first try but big thanks to Husain who was there to give all his best to teach me and correct my mistake so patiently. I ended up passing my g2 for the first time and I will definitely recommend this school (also Husain) to the person who have always having doubts about driving on the road. For once, I had given up hopes of getting a driving license. Having failed one driving test in Toronto, I wasn't sure if I could graduate to the G2 level in a short duration. It is easier to obtain the G license from your G2 level. But the G2 is a more challenging progression towards driving. My fears were unwarranted as I got a wonderful driving instructor in the form of Hafeez, from Road Star Driving School. I made multiple changes in my plan, rescheduled my driving test, yet he kept up with my demands. Hafeez showed the perfect temperament for an instructor-showing the right confidence in my abilities and correcting me immediately where necessary. He arrived at 8 AM to allow me two hours of additional road handling right before the test. I would definitely recommend Barrie for your next driving test and nothing better than this driving school.

I am very disappointed with Road star. I enrolled my daughter in this school because I read good reviews and it wasn't good for us. First of all the school cancelled the classes on the weekend of December 22/23 2018 and never informed any of the students so there was 30 students and parents their dropping off our kids to a closed school. Classes were suppose to be made up on the weekend of December 29/30 2018 but our family was on vacation then so trying to get my daughter back in for her last two classes was a total run around. The second thing about this school is the driving lessons every time the instructor made an appointment with my daughter he cancelled we have had one in car lesson and 5 cancellations. I called the school and told them I want a new instructor and her response is sorry we only have two instructors and one is on vacation and Hafiz is very busy she will talk to him and tell him to get my daughters lessons done. I understand that the school is busy but my issue is don't take on new students if you don't have the instructors to do the driving end, its not fair to the kids that are excited to learn as well the parents that have paid for a service that is not being full filled. I will not be taking my other child there who will be 16 next year to this driving school I would rather pay the little bit more money (like $100.00) then have the headache and disappointment like this.

I did my G2 at barrie and selected this driving school 2 days before my test. They were quick to accommodate my last moment request and reasonable so. Special thanks to instructor MIR who helped me with 1 class and the test. Its a matter of following the steps right and he makes it easy to learn. Barrie it relatively an easy place to take a test because there is lesser traffic which gives you time to focus on what MTO is looking for. MIR has good knowledge of the route and can advise you on what you do wrong. Hope this helps anyone wishing to take a test here. God bless!

Road start driving school should be the only drivers school out there. Hafiz the instructor was very knowledgable! I signed up for 2-hour tutoring plus road test package and got my G2 license. The instructor Hafiz was very patient. He gave me a lot of tips and pointed out areas that I need to pay attention to pass the road test and more importantly to drive safely. The car is a Toyota Corolla, easy to maneuver. Highly recommend this place.

In school lessons were great and loved the instructor. Unfortunately for in car lessons there was poor communication all throughout the process and found the in car instructor (Owner) last minute bailing on lessons more often than going through with them. Took from November to February to finish 10 lessons, and no apologies. Thankfully they were flexible to let me use their car last minute for the exam however, my usual instructor cancelled on me again before my G2 test and left me with an instructor and car I’d never used before to take me to the test and to use on the test. If you’re looking for a fast process I wouldn’t suggest using this company.

Awesome, after 3 attempts I went and took a private lesson with Hafiz a day before the test. He is super helpful and knowledgeable. He took me on the southbound route and showed me where they might take me and went over where they do everything. However I went north bound on my actual test but with all his tips and advice I finally was able to pass my G the next day ( in the middle of a freezing rain and fog storm at that too) would totally recommend!!
