I had a great experience at Fraser Driving School with my instructor Samai! She is a very thoughtful teacher -- knowledgeable, clear, patient, and encouraging. She consistently gave me tips and things to focus on, without making me feel overwhelmed. I had almost no experience driving, and I took about 13-15 lessons over 2 months to prepare for my N drivers test. I passed on my first try! I wasn't able to practice on my own -- which at first I was nervous about -- but now I would actually recommend that other new drivers do the same if you have the money. Just taking lessons with Samai, in the driving school car, meant that I didn't develop bad habits, I got used to the car, and was able to focus on getting ready to pass. Also - I only bought 9 lessons to start, and Samai encouraged me to add on more lessons, so I'd be ready. She was right and I'm really glad I added the extra lessons on before my test.

I was very pleased with my experience with Fraser Driving School. I had a class 5 license but needed to take a new road test because I had let it expire for more than 3 years. The driving instructor (Vincent) was the picture of calm and experienced and made me feel confident while giving me lots of feedback about areas I could work on and tricks for city driving. I also had a very tight deadline (2 weeks) and they worked with me to schedule lessons and moved things around to suite my schedule. The other employees I dealt with were also professional and friendly. I couldn't be happier.

A colleague recommended Fraser Driving School to me. Natalia (the office administrator) was always friendly, professional, and efficient, and communication was prompt and clear. Every effort would be made to source lesson times that aligned with my work schedule (something that I really appreciated). Despite the fact that I received my licence in South Africa in 2001, and had a lot of driving experience behind me, I was initially very nervous about driving on the right-hand side of the road when I moved to Canada. I had also picked up a lot of bad habits that needed to be unlearnt! In order to be able to drive in BC, I needed to complete both the knowledge and Class 5 road test, and I am so glad I picked this driving school because I felt like I gleaned so many valuable skills and confidence from these lessons. I had all my lessons with Vincent and I really cannot speak highly enough of him! Vincent is such a calm, friendly, and genuine person and he put me at ease immediately. He gives kind, constructive criticism, is patient and personable, and is always positive and professional! He explained rules and driving manoeuvres to me very comprehensively (I ask lots of questions!) and I felt assured following all his advice (and picked up many helpful parking tricks and strategies -- I avoided parallel and reverse parking in the past). I feel like my time with FDS has helped me develop safe, defensive driving habits. I am a lot more confident on the road now and since passing my road test have been really getting to enjoy the freedom of being to drive again! Thanks so much, Vincent!

I'm very happy with them. Very professional, great communication, very patient and knowledgeable instructors, clean new cars, they keep Covid safety protocols. I only took a few lessons with them and passed my road test easily on the first try. I've been driving in Europe since 1999 and had some bad habits I needed to fix. Also when I looked in October, ICBC only had road tests for mid April, but Fraser Driving School could book me a road test for December 1st. Their prices are quite affordable considering the great instructors they have. Again, I'm very happy with them and already recommended them to a few friends.

I chose fraser driving school because of the high reviews but was extremely dissapointed by the end. From the start I had issues. First, making appointments was not accommodating to my schedule, they were very unorganized overall. The first driver instructor was terrible, I was very unsatisfied with his teaching style. I was spoken to and treated very rudely by, I'm assuming, the owners wife when I was trying to book another problematic appointment time. Terrible customer service skills. On a positive note, the driving instructor Manuel was really kind, his teaching skills were very good. The original teacher I had when I took lessons two years ago was great. It's sad to see this business was lacking so much. I made it a priority to write a review and save others from a bad service. I hope they change.

Looking around for a driving school, i came across Fraser Driving School across the intersection from ICBC Driver's Service Center Commercial Drive. The instructors was very professional and their course of excellent lessons enabled me to pass my road test with an excellent score. My instructor was kind and patient and encouraging. The lessons were efficient and thorough. And more importantly, they helped me understand the canadian roads and driving system better as i came from right hand drive country. I had no previous experience driving a car at all, so I decided to take driving lessons. I had 2 different instructors during my time in Fraser driving school. The first one I had was Samai. She was okay as a teacher but I personally found her methods weren't effective on me. I first had the 19.5 hrs package, and another 5.5 hours additional since she told me at the end of the first package that I wasn't ready. Even after the additional 5.5 hr lessons, she still said I wasn't ready for the road test. I had it anyway, and of course, I failed miserably. After my first driving exam, I decided to take more lessons but this time, I had Hussein. He was good teacher, very calm and encouraging. He taught me tips and techniques to make driving so much easier. After I failed the first exam, I really thought I wasn't cut out to be driver, so I had the 9.5-hr package to be safe. By the end of the lessons, I still felt unsure (perhaps because I was too critical of myself), but Hussein told me that I was ready and that I will pass. I took my test in ICBC Burnaby in the pouring rain last March 23rd, and I passed! All I can say is that you may need to explore other instructors since they have different styles of teaching. My experience was a good example. A good instructor will surely ensure that you pass your driving exam with flying colors.

An amazing driving school with fantastic instructors. Being born and raised in Vancouver I often worry about communication barriers, but I was pleased to see that both instructors I saw were completely clear and understandable. The instructors are very attentive and gave specific instructions that allowed me to learn with confidence. I passed my driving test on the first try, which I believe shows how thorough they are at ensuring you have all the skills and knowledge you need before taking the test. On another note, the cars and equipment are all fantastic and very comfortable. Without a doubt they make the driving test an easier experience.

There isn’t negative stars here, if exist I will give them negative stars. I search this school on google maps and checked the reviews. It seems that they are good with top rate stars. I trusted to reviews which was my mistake. #1 : I called them and at first impression she told me they are the best in BC !!?? #2 : after I went to there office and paid the money, I asked for receipt which is normal. They just printed something which just show I paid this amount of money. There is not any detail. I asked them send an email or call to remind me for class which had never happened. They said it was a mistake and they didn’t. #3: their prices is more expensive than other one. I was happy to pay extra for better service, but I am deeply disappointed that they have not enough experience to teach you what is gonna happen at road test. Or they know and want get more money from you for more hours training. #4: I asked them so many times to tell me what examiner will ask me to do. They are always repeating their lessons. In conclusion, yesterday was my road Test , and I failed because I chose the wrong school. Road test was completely different than their words.

I loved the friendly reminders about upcoming classes and that they always followed up on any requests (calling me when class slots or new examination dates opened up..etc). Coming from South Africa, despite driving for 10 years, I had to redo a road test to get my BC Class 5. Samai was patiently able to help me break the "bad habits" I've acquired over the years, and give me an understanding of what could be in the road test. Although very little of what we practiced ended up being in the test, being over-prepared contributed to my confidence and passing on the first try. Dealing with Gerry in admin was always a pleasure as well. At the end of the day, paying for hours of lessons was a very expensive way to get peace of mind, but I do feel I got what I paid for. It felt like my own father was teaching me to drive again and that put me at ease as I prepared for my road test. After 5 hours of driving with Somai, her comments and pointers were very helpful in giving met he confidence and skills to pass the test. I had to take my class 5 with four days notice and so I called Fraser driving school and it all worked out perfectly! I called on Tuesday to see if I could rent a car to take my test as well have a couple hours of practice and they booked me in the day before to practice for one hour then then next day before my test I had one more hour of practice then wrote my test and I aced it! I would definitely NOT recommend this driving school. They only have their own interests in mind and were unprofessional throughout my entire interaction with them. Despite the driving instructors being decent, the overall administration of Fraser Driving School is a disaster. Beware for fine print and hidden charges in your package as they will use any reason to trick you of your money! Choose another driving school!!!!! Kitsilano is a FAR better option.

Vincent is a very professional, patient instructor. I had driven before in Argentina and Mexico, where driving is more of an each-man-for-himself affair, and I sure did have a lot to learn about driving in Canada. He quickly assessed my weaknesses on the first lesson and focused very pragmatically on the things that I needed to learn to pass the test. With a lot of practice on my own (which you have to get, the classes alone won't be enough no matter what school you're with), I passed the test on my first try! I had Samai as my instructor, I was recommended to her by my sister and cousin and I don’t regret it one bit. Vincent was my instructor and I cannot say enough good things about him. I have been driving for 10 years on a daily basis with my N and have accumulated many bad habits over the years. I decided to take driving lessons with Fraser Driving School as it is close to my home and the school received great reviews on the internet. I took my Class 5 road test today and passed with flying colors - thanks to Vincent! For those of you looking to take lessons with this school, I would highly recommend Vincent as your instructor for the following reasons: 1) Vincent is a very experienced instructor with 20+ years of experience teaching and he loves his job. You always want to pick an instructor that has extensive experience and loves what he does. 2) Vincent has excellent emotional intelligence to be an instructor. He is approachable, encouraging, calm and very patient. As a student, I felt encouraged and never frustrated while taking lessons with Vincent. Some instructors do not have that quality and they make you feel incompetent, which can destroy your confidence and create frustration. Vincent knows how to give constructive feedback. I wish all instructors could be like him! 3) I feel like I can trust Vincent when he told me that he thinks I am ready for my road test. I am not perfect by any means, but you don't need to be perfect to pass a driving test. With other instructors, I felt they were aiming too much for perfection and their advice were often not very practical and almost impossible to do. Before I met Vincent, I felt that my previous instructor was not effective as she was always aiming for perfection and asked me to take more and more lessons, which felt like a sales pitch. I am glad I switched my instructor and went with Vincent! Overall, I would recommend Fraser Driving School and Vincent as your driving instructor to all my friends and family!

Wonderful experience. I'm a senior citizen and have a license but hadn't driven in years and needed lots of refreshing for an upcoming trip where I'll share the driving. Vincent is an outstanding teacher. He observes, listens, explains with crystal clarity; knows when to remind you, when to have you repeat, and when to challenge you to the next level. I just finished my driving assessment with Samai and it went very well. She's patient and clear in how she teaches and how she provides feedback (feedback is also given in a non-judgmental, kind way). I explained to her how I had already had some lessons many years ago and that I tend to be nervous/anxious about driving. She gave me the option of her driving first to a calm neighborhood instead of me driving from the start of the lesson and I enthusiastically accepted. I'd definitely recommend her as a teacher for adults learning to drive that are nervous about it.

Deceptive business practice. When you call.. What they tell you: 1. In order to reserve a training date, they'll need your credit card. Sounds fair. Many other business such as hotels require a credit card to reserve a room. What they don't tell you: 1. Unlike a hotel where your credit card is only charge after checking out, your credit card is charged immediately when you call. 2. If you decide to not to take the training for ANY reason, and doesn't matter how early you cancel, there is a 12% penalty. You have already been charge when you register, there is no way out now. And you won't find that out until you receive their email after registering. There is also nothing about refund or cancellation penalty on the website. Once you make that call, you're hooked, with no way out. Note1:: Even on that email there are tricks, it says they require 24 business hour advanced notice for rescheduling or it'll be 1/2 lesson fee penalty. That's 24 Business hours , which is about 3 3/7 business days. Tricky tricky. Note2:: There is also a 5 day advance rescheduling requirement or there will be a 1/2 total fee penalty. Anyway, It's complicated. Note3:: There is also a 30 day refund requirement. So 100% penalty unless you cancel before 30 days. Note4:: Looking at other reviews on Yelp, There are 17 5-star reviews that has been flagged as fake. So I turned to my computer science friend for help. Algorithm detects a majority of fake 5-star reviews on Google Map. The reason why Google Map rating is so much higher than Yelp is Yelp eliminates fake rating, Google Map does not.

I am glad that I chose Fraser Driving School for my Class 4 unrestricted training. I went to their office on 29-Oct-2020 after I passed knowledge test next day to book my class 4 lesson. A nice lady Samai, who was patient and listened all my requests and tell me what to do step by step. I was shocked when she told me icbc has long line up for the road test till end of December or January 2021 due to the covid. She asked me are you rush to get the licence? I answered: as soon as possible if can (didn't expect too soon). Then surprised call after few hours I booked the class, instructor Vincent told me their a slot (due to someone cancellation) I can fill in on 21-Nov-2020. Wow, They did a awesome jobs, care every student and keep in mind what they needs. Before my lesson and road test, I received reminders, instructions and learning materials by e-mail. On the training day, Vincent taught me very detailly, step by step, know how to pass the pre-trip inspection test. He answered all my questions and fixed my bad driving habits for the road test. I would say is not easy to completed 50+ items inspection in 20 mins, so practice, study and practice also is the key even Vincent helped me a lot. On the road test day, Vincent helped me all the registration process and final training. I passed at my first try, got perfect scores for the pre-trip inspection and 10 demerits of road test. Big thank you to Vincent and Fraser Driving School. Definitely recommend. ????????????

I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone who cares about customer service or dealing with people who appreciate your business. The instructor I had felt it was OK to show up late for classes and cut my classes short. She never showed any empathy towards me or my achievements. The lady who does their admin work has no idea what customer service is and the company as a whole don't care about customer loyalty. They made it very clear to me on several occasions that they were too busy to take upon more classes and it was up to me to adjust my schedule to fit into their busy business graphic. It is a customer driven economy and I don't think that the demand on instructors in the market is higher than amount of people who need classes. If you don't mind paying premium price for below average service, this school will do. If you want to be treated like a valuable customer and a person, seek other alternatives.

Very happy with my experience with Fraser Driving School. I did the Class 4 Unrestricted License training package which included training and use of the vehicle for the road test. The booking was simple and the training and ICBC road test were conveniently scheduled within a couple of days of each other. Vincent was an excellent instructor. He clearly demonstrated exactly how to do the pre-trip inspection and what the driving evaluator looks for during the road test. Going over the pre-trip inspection again right before the test was very helpful. The vehicle that was supplied was almost brand new and in perfect condition which made the pre-trip inspection and driving easy. I did the training, took a little bit of time to memorize the pre-trip inspection on my own the next day, and confidently passed the test the day after that.

He gave superb tests and was able to tell me the details on where in Burnaby my test would take place and what I would be tested on. FYI I had to cancel my initial test appointment on November 3rd due to a family emergency but thanks to the help of Samai and Vincent, I was able to get a new test appointment for December 18th and not wait until April 2021. I booked my road test really fast cause of someone else cancel their appointment, so I had 3 days to refresh all the signs and get my self ready for my test. I was going to test for the class 5 license cause I used to driver on my home country. I quickly booked in this school and from the beginning they were really kind and welcoming. My instructor for 2 days was Amai and she was amazing. She polish my driving and she taught my a lot, giving me an assessment of all the things they were going to check in my test. Throughout the lessons, she clarify every question or doubt I had! That made me feel really confidant on my skills. I don’t know why this place has such a high review score. Firstly, they are very expensive and their classes are only 55 minutes long. Secondly, they don’t come to pick you up, so a one-hour session might actually waste 2.5 hours of your time including the commute. Thirdly, they don’t take you to practice around the road test location although my road test location was a 5-minute drive from this school. Fourthly, normally the teacher seems too tired to tell you what to do or to help you practice your issues. I had a driving license from another country for 4 years and I got a class 5L license in BC and I came to this school to learn about Canadian driving habits and pass the class 5 test. For the most of the 55 minutes, they used to just tell me to drive straight. At around 30 minutes they would tell me to do a parallel parking(which, by the way, is not part of the class 5 road test!) and then return straight back to their place. At around 5th session, I told the teacher that I think I am not good at left turns(because we barely did a left turn during the first 4 sessions!). Then, the teacher told me to stop the car and he drew a sketch of an intersection and explained the left turn to me. This meant that the teacher already knew I am bad at left turn(otherwise why give a 5 minute detailed explanation of how to turn left?) and then he let me do 3 or 4 left turns, and I felt like he is reluctant to let me do left turns. It seems like they have a predefined teaching plan for a person who is starting to learn driving and they just used the same plan for me. I do very good parallel parking, so I don’t know why I had to practice parallel parking every session while I rarely got to practice turning left or right on main roads or into main roads that I was very bad at (because of all the shoulder checking and ...). There were sessions dedicated to “highway merging” or “turning into boulevards” that I have never used them. My road test didn’t have any highway or boulevards. You might argue that it is still important to learn it, but I think them just telling me the concept and not wasting the whole session was fine because I was a 4-year driver already. I give them 2 or 3 stars because, in all honesty, they do teach you some stuff, but short sessions, lack of instructions, and the fact that they don’t identify your issues to practice doesn’t make them a 5 star driving school. After this school, I switched to another driving teacher. They were much cheaper, had 80-minute sessions, picked me up at home and dropped me off at home, practiced with me near the road test site, identified many of my issues, had me do left turn for about 20 times until I mastered left turns and shoulder-checking , and never practiced parallel parking (because it is not part of the class 5 road test!!!). Practicing near the road test site really reduced the stress specially because I got to know the exit location of the site and that I have to either turn left or right at that exit!

Hi there, Thank you so much to Samai and Manuel they helped me out to get my 5 class license. I was taking classes at another school, however I changed it due of the bad instructor I had and I changed it on time to Fraser driving school, I felt the different right away, Samai and Manuel taught me with patient and they gave me the confidence the other school was not able to give me, which allow me to pass my road test. If you're looking for driving lessons then I totally recommend Fraser Driving School. I had done quite a bit of research online to figure out which driving school to go with considering there are soo many out there but Im glad I chose the right one! Samai was very patient, kind and provided a bunch of helpful tips! She was quick to point out where I needed to improve and helped me build my confidence in driving. Thanks to them I finally managed to get my "N" !! They are conveniently located about 2 minutes away from Broadway Skytrain. They schedule the road test for you and when I wasn't ready they were able to reschedule it for me without any hassles.

Had a pleasant experience at Fraser driving school. Receptionist was nice and professional, everything was explained clearly. Instructor Vincent was great, he’s very knowledgeable and through. I got prefect score for pre trip check with his help. He also covered all the points tested for road test. Haven’t had any experience driving large vehicles before but thanks to Vincent and the school, I passed the test with ease. Also the van I drove was nice and new, spotless. Overall great experience, highly recommended.

The school was great, especially in the time of the pandemic. Clean cars, hand sanitizer, etc. The teachers were very patient. I'm an adult learner who's put off learning to drive for ages, but I bit the bullet and bought a course at the beginning of 2020. They were flexible with my work schedule, I also had all 3 instructors and all 3 were great! The way they taught parallel parking made it a breeze. Passed my N on my first go, no issues. :) I'll probably take another lesson or two at some point to get comfortable with highway driving!

I highly recommend Fraser Driving School. Vincent and his colleagues are expert teachers who prepared me to pass the 7N test. I had failed the test on two previous occasions, having practiced with a different driving school and then with family members. Vincent, by contrast, gave me the confidence, relevant experience, and clear information required to pass the test. He is a patient and encouraging instructor and he provides very clear guidance. Gerry in the office is a pleasure to deal with, and I really appreciated his excellent communication over the phone and by email on the occasions that I had to reschedule appointments. I successfully passed my class 5 road test after 4 lessons! My only suggestion for the instructors would be to make it a priority for one instructor to do all of one students lessons. A random instructor every class meant we spend at least the first 15 mins of every lesson on evaluation. But hey, I passed.
