Ken Todd was a fantastic instructor and made me feel very comfortable in the vehicle, while also providing great tips and tricks for my road test. His "red light challenges" and great conversations were definitely highlights of the lesson. He even bought me a coffee while we were waiting for the test! I passed the pre-trip inspection and road test the same day thanks to Ken's expertise. The DriveWise van was also a great vehicle to use. I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to work for BC Emergency Health Services.

I have had my N for half a year now, but I want to learn how to drive a car with a standard transmission(I only knew how to drive an automatic transmission). As far as I know, this is one of the few, if not the only driving school on the island that offers driving lessons for stick shifts. The instructor, Sherif, was very friendly, patient, and encouraging; he taught me the basic skills I need to drive a manual transmission. He is also passionate about what he is teaching and got me really hooked on driving a manual transmission. If I want to learn more about driving a manual car, I will definitely go to DriveWise again!

Loved the experience! Jamie from the Nanaimo location was a great instructor, very personable! He made all the lessons educational and at the same time made me laugh and have a good time while being focused and confident on the road! When feedback was given he always did it in a polite way in which, didn't make me want to give up! With the continued lessons in which I received I was able to get my "N"! I do get test anxiety and through Jamie's personality it was able to calm my nerves! The rest of the stuff in which I interacted with (mainly over the phone and online) have been very friendly and understanding! The only thing that I wasn't the biggest fan of, was the price. However, with the knowledge and experience that I had during this process I would spend that money again :) I WOULD recommend DriveWise to anyone whom is learning to drive or looking for a tune-up! Drivewise is an incredible program to learn how to drive safely. Not only are the instructors well educated, they adapt the material to your personal learning style! I have taken my in class lessons and am working through my car sessions. The in class lessons teach you things you may not have learned otherwise. Such as what to do in different weather conditions, rules of the road, how to best avoid common accidents, and so much more! As well, my in car instructor has helped me greatly in feeling confident behind the wheel. Without a doubt I would not be able to successfully accomplish the skills I’ve learned so far without the help of my instructor Duncan. I would recommend DriveWise to anyone wanting to learn to drive, as they will help you learn to be the best driver you can be!

Andrew was an excellent instructor for my son, Hayden. He was patient and had a calm manner. My son also really enjoyed his sense of humour. I'll be requesting Andrew in 2 years time when it's my daughters turn. Hayden passed his N on his first try! I have had in-class lessons as well as all my in car sessions and I have to say, my driving skills would be no where near as advanced as if I learnt from a parent or friend. They prepare you for things such as backing up on the curb, which someone might forget to teach you if you didn't take lessons. I have become more confident and it is reassuring to have lessons with professionals. I recommend working with DriveWise for preparing for your tests!

i took class for L. it was very helpful. my teacher was <" jay "> . he was funny and he explained very well. even though english isnt my first language, i understood very well. and on-road class with <"brenda"> was awesome too. she gave a lot of information about car or the way how to drive and a lot of tips. and i got N driver license. and after a year and 6 month, i was ready for taking road test for class5 which is full driver license. i took "road test package" and my teacher was <"arthur">. he was very friendly. he gave me also a lot of tips for test before icbc road test. it was very useful. now i got full driver license. i paid money. and It is very much worth it! thank you teachers! and P.S also receptionist is also very friendly and they always try to help me :) thanks again

Thank you to Jay, Arthur and Pat for all their help in getting me my N! At 32 years old I felt like I would never get my license, but with their training and guidance I was able to pass. I did the full program, but I did have prior (though limited) driving experience. If you are an adult with 0 experience and no car to practice on I would suggest taking a few extra lessons to get the necessary experience. Great school, real, practical tips and helpful and knowledgeable instructors. They never made me feel anxious and helped me become a more confident driver. Thank you so much Drivewise! I'll be sure to book a refresher with you when I go to get my Class 7!

I was hesitant to go to any driving school but my sister and a few other people recommended here so i called went for the full package and now know it’s definitely worth it , i feel like the simulator has already helped my ability to drive, the staff are all so friendly. our classroom teachers name was Dekan at the westshore Langford location he was great and always had a little life story to tell. I’ve briefly met Kate once and talked to her over message to get some help and she’s super nice and always answered any questions i had , super helpful and very professional I’d recommend drivewise to EVERYONE definitely worth every cent ???? thank you drivwise for everything you’ve done for me so far!

I took six lessons from Jen, and she was a wonderful instructor. She was extremely helpful, not only with giving me clear and detailed instruction, but also with helping me to manage my anxiety. I appreciated her patience and compassion, and it really felt as though the lessons were adapted to my specific learning style. I felt very prepared for my class 7 road test, (despite my considerable test anxiety), and passed. I was also satisfied with the covid safety procedures, they seemed very safe and responsible. I had previously had lessons with this company in 2014 and knew exactly where I was going to go when I realised I had a single day to prepare for a road test. I took a tune-up lesson from Duncan prior to my class seven road test. He was very helpful in troubleshooting and fine tuning my driving. Also, he took the time to provide a written guide to driving maneuvers such as parallel parking for future reference. Duncan took the time to listen to my concerns about my driving technique, and personalized the lesson accordingly. I had Kevin Burns as my instructor and he was excellent. Very calm and clear with his instructions. He even wrote down instructions and pictures for a better understanding of how to do the maneuvers and so you have detailed steps for how to do them outside of lessons. If your an anxious person about driving or tests he is a very positive teacher to have helping you! Drivewise was great to deal with very quick to reply and book a lesson and tests. Would highly recommend them as a company and Kevin for your instructor.

He was very friendly and he helped me manage and overcome some of my driving anxiety. I appreciated his sociability and patience during the lessons. Hi there, I tried phoning yesterday but have not heard back. The ‘contact us’ on your website doesn’t seem to be working or set up. On Sunday late afternoon, I was driving behind one of your vehicles on Cadboro Bay Road. Your driver went through a pedestrian crosswalk with a couple of kids waiting to cross. I stopped for them and then had to make my turn shortly after. I wanted to get the license plate number but I was already running late. It was a smaller type vehicle, 4 door I think? Kevin B. from the Victoria/Langford location is a fantastic instructor and extremely easy to learn from. I did the ICBC approved Full Driving Program, which included classroom theory also led by Kevin. The classroom theory was beyond essential in me understanding the road laws, and just as important the driver characteristics and tactics that make driving safe for myself and others. Stepping into the drivers seat, I felt confident under the supervision and instruction of Kevin and consistently came away feeling I had improved with each lesson. On my first attempt I was able to pass my road test, and I directly attribute that to the Full Driving Program. I Highly recommend DriveWise BC, and in particular Kevin! Thank you!

I would highly recommend Drivewise for ALL new drivers, not just young adults. My 2 instructors were Jen for in class and Kevin for in car!! They are amazing instructors. The knowledge, patience they show and have makes the learning to drive less stressful (well kind of ). Up until recently we have sent our young drivers to DriveWise. Over the past couple of years the company has taken a turn in a direction that unfortunately does not feel safe. The instructors are not as educated as they used to be and the attention to detail is simply not there anymore. Too bad as this used to be a great business to deal. There are better choices out there now.

I used to book for a full driving course with 3 in-class lessons and 9 lessons on road. I thought DriveWise is the most professional school in Victoria, however, my instructor was so rude. She yelled at me when I made mistakes, but I was a new driver, I might make mistakes. She just made me feel more nervous whenever I get in her car, and after eight lessons I decided to quit. After 8 lessons, my driving skills did not develop, and I had to spend more money for another driving school.

This review is long overdue. I took the instructor training course at DriveWise back in 2016. The staff here is incredibly helpful and friendly. The owner, Arthur, has been at this for over four decades and knows what he's doing. His daughter Kate has always been very helpful. And let's not forget Natalie - she is always a pleasure to speak to! And of course, there's all the super dedicated and friendly driving instructors, like Kevin, Brenda, and Jay, just to name a few. I see them day in and day out, rain or shine, diligently teaching students. This is a family owned business and I am grateful for their teachings. I have been able to go on and build my own successful driving school, but I remember everyday that I am able to do this thanks to these folks. Keep up the great work and I hope you continue to provide the excellent level of service to the community for generations to come.

I could write a novel about all the reasons I love DriveWise. I am a 28 year old who just got their full class 5, all thanks to this company. I had driving anxiety for years, and even tried taking driving lessons with another company, whose instructor actually worsened my anxiety. But after taking the full DriveWise program at 26, I was able to build up my confidence in driving. Learning to drive as an adult is so hard, and not having a license can take a toll on your self esteem. I dreaded sitting in class with other new drivers ten years younger! But the instructors there were so fun, and made it easy. I had the pleasure of driving one-on-one with Arthur, the owner, who was calm, supportive, and encouraging. Honestly, it felt as comfortable and safe as driving with my own dad. I couldn't believe it when he said I was ready for my road test, but I passed on my first try. And two years later, I was so excited to tell him and the DriveWise crew that I passed my last road test, all thanks to this company. I didn't even need a brush up lesson beforehand as the skills I learned were so ingrained that I didn't pick up any bad habits! I was so depressed thinking I'd never be able to drive. I'd be in tears! DriveWise has absolutely changed my life. Now I can visit my family out of town, now I can drive to work, now I can have true independence. I could go on and on but suffice to say I will always be a loyal supporter. Thank you so much Arthur and the DriveWise team!!

I took the full driving program at the Victoria location and just passed my test this morning. Not only do they fully prepare you for the test, but also give lots of tips to make sure you continue to be a safe driver. Jay was my instructor and he was super nice and made sure I understood all of the concepts without feeling overwhelmed. He clearly answered any questions I had and was constantly giving me tips on how to improve my driving. They also replied quickly to all of the emails I sent and were super helpful and worked around my schedule. In particular, I emailed Ms Harris about a dozen times asking questions and she helped work the lessons around my ever-changing schedule. I booked the road test package pretty last minute and they made sure I was able to get a car. Ken was my instructor for the road test package and he helped cover anything I was worried about and helped ease nerves I had before the test. I am so grateful for everyone at DriveWise's help! I learned so much from Drivewise and it was a great experience! I had two instructors Duncan and Brenda, and they were both very helpful and great instructors. Their instruction on parallel parking, reverse stall parking and many of the basic manoeuvres on the N test were very clear and easy to understand. I passed my N test on the first try thanks to them! Customer service was poor and arrogant. I can now see why there are many unhappy customers. Be aware also that if you miss one of their online GLP classes you do not get your GLP. You cannot schedule into another months and there are no makeup options. Other schools offer a make-up or rescheduling.

Recognizing the pros and cons of a 'home schooling' in driving, we put both our children through Drivewise. They have many hours yet to log on the incredible traffic access network that is the North American experience, but so far they have both shown us that they understand what it means to respect the road. Took the full program with DW as a 37 y.o. with a lifelong driving anxiety and passed! Jennifer was an amazing coach. She helped me gain the confidence I needed, was quick to identify my weaknesses in driving and provided spot-on advice. She was strict when making sure I develop good driving habits, but still incredibly patient and compassionate. I geniunely enjoyed every practice. The administration at DW was super friendly, too. Never had any problems booking classes that suited my schedule, or getting questions answered. Would recommend to anyone.

At 7pm, now dark in Victoria, I was tail-gated into the city by a DriveWise car. As the male driver was tail-gating me, he purposefully turned his high-beam lights on behind me to most likely try to distract me, or send me a message. Then as he changed lanes to turn, and while waiting at the red-turn light, he fingered me from across the lane and the passenger seat to express his feelings for me. We were in ferry traffic and there were a lot of slow drivers - I think his road-rage was directed for someone else. What he did was incredibly dangerous for me, the other drivers and himself, but since he was driving a car from a driving school, you think he would have known this, right? - I think that if you choose to take lessons from DriveWise in Victoria, you will possibly get this guy as your instructor and instead of purposeful and safe driving techniques, he is going to teach you how to drive angrily behind the wheel. To make this worse, my daughter was in the back seat of my car. So, not only did he put himself at risk, but he put the other drivers around him at risk as well, including myself and my very young daughter. This is very bad DriveWise and I wonder if this is the image you want to have portrayed from your professional drivers and are these the skills you want them to be teaching as well? I hope DriveWise deals with this in a more professional manner than the professionalism of this driver.

Thanks to Jeremy, I successfully earned my N license. I had taken lessons elsewhere before, but it was the right decision to come to Drive Wise to finish the job. I was personally not very comfortable with parking, but he focused on that and I was able to do it without any problems. Also, he prepared me well for the road test, and although I was nervous, I was able to pass without difficulty.
